Hot dogs

How do you eat your hot dogs?

You know how normal people just eat their hot dogs with ketchup?

Nope, not me. I like to eat mine with lots and lots of toppings.
Mayo, ketchup, mustard, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and jalapenos.

Who knew making hot dogs for dinner would be so much work... X_X

Glitch 07-21-2016 11:39 PM

Hmmm I have a couple of ways I like to eat them.

1. Normal way:
Ketchup, tiny bit of mustard, sliced tomato and pickles.

2. Other way:
Mayo on one side and ketchup on the other side and pickles.

Suzerain of Sheol 07-21-2016 11:53 PM

Boiled until they explode, on a plate, with a fork.

That's the usual way, right?

Coda 07-21-2016 11:53 PM

I don't like ketchup and I'm not a big fan of mayo. >.> So my hot dogs tend to have mustard or pickle relish, or sometimes sauerkraut, and usually cheese and onions.

Glitch 07-22-2016 12:28 AM

I also like chilli cheese dogs.

I super want hot dogs right now curses

Coda 07-22-2016 03:58 AM

Chili cheese dogs... mm, sounds good. I could use one.

RinLin 07-22-2016 12:19 PM

Boiled with ketchup and sallad. :D

Gallagher 07-22-2016 04:18 PM

Boiled or grilled, doesn't matter to me.

But I like having ketchup, chili, and a ton of hot sauce. All thrown right on top in a big drippy mess.

Lawtan 07-22-2016 04:26 PM

Plain, or with salsa. Spicy!

Quiet Man Cometh 07-22-2016 07:22 PM

fried, with whatever I feel like putting on it, usually BBQ sauce, mustard and relish, fried onion if there are any, preferably a beef hotdog or smokey.

Glitch 07-22-2016 09:11 PM

When I was growing up and we couldn't afford a lot of food items. . . I would often eat a microwaved hot dog without the bun and I'd put pickle chips and ketchup on it on my plate o3o

bluebird 07-24-2016 05:48 AM

All the toppings sounds really good. :s-drool:

I usually eat mine with ketchup and relish.
If the sausage is really nice (has actual meat and spices, and not "pink slime"), I put all the toppings to one half of the hot dog, and leave the other half alone. That way, I can taste the sausage in all its glory on one end, and the lavishly adorned sausage on the other. (that's what she said amirite)

SparX 07-25-2016 08:49 AM

I only like my hot dog in a bun IF it has tons of toppings.
Other then that I eat them plain on a plate with a mix of ketchup mustard dip

That's the SUZE-sual way. -flees-

Boiled or grilled, bun (probably squished a bit because I hate having that much bread), relish. I loathe mustard.

Glitch 07-25-2016 02:54 PM

hot dogs in mac and cheese is also pretty good.

Fulkth 07-25-2016 06:48 PM

@glitch

I am not a big fan of mac and cheese and hot dogs, but my husband loves it.

Hollow out said bun, so that the hot dog and toppings stay nicely encased in the bread shell and you get less bread.

Keylaleigh 08-07-2016 07:55 PM

I like my dogs with the fakest cheese wiz possible and some bean-free chili. And that's it. Chili cheese dogs are king.

Glitch 08-07-2016 08:04 PM

Oh man cheese wiz is delicious.

I may have to go buy some right now.

....I need to do that if I ever get the patience to.

Quiet Man Cometh 08-08-2016 12:17 AM

I'm not very. I just rip it out and if there are cracks, I deal.

Tohopekaliga 08-08-2016 11:33 AM

Basically...a corn dog, with regular bread? Fancy.

Quiet Man Cometh 08-08-2016 04:17 PM

I dislike corn dogs.

Could also be considered a toad-in-the-hole, but with regular bread. ;)
...or maybe a pig in a blanket.
There are a few wrapped meats it would seem.

Tohopekaliga 08-08-2016 04:23 PM

True. Didn't think of pig in a blanket. Never heard of toad-in-the-hole, though...

Quiet Man Cometh 08-08-2016 04:24 PM

Sausage cooked in Yorkshire pudding.

Tohopekaliga 08-08-2016 04:32 PM

aha. Sounds very English.

Quiet Man Cometh 08-08-2016 04:45 PM

It is. I'm only going by "toad in the hole" because that's what was on the menu at the pub. ;). Without the Yorkshire, it was just "bangers and mash'd."

Fulkth 08-08-2016 07:37 PM

I somehow ran across a recipe called wiener winks.
Very easy to make and tasty (according to my husband).

lovelacedroses 10-22-2016 10:26 PM

I like my hot dogs with lettuce and mayo. Ketchup makes me queasy for some reason.

Ireland 10-24-2016 01:37 AM

i like mine with just ketchup.

i always thought i was weird! lol

Fulkth 11-04-2016 09:30 PM

Today, I was thinking about how my mom used to put hot dogs in our ramen. And the ramen would then taste like hot dogs. So gross. :(

setsunaela 11-07-2016 06:53 PM

I put them in Mac and cheese, or cut them up into spaghetti-os. But I usually have them with mayo and a little mustard, sometimes sauerkraut. I like them cooked any way, really. Sometimes I cut them in half, the long way, so I have two really long half dogs? And I make a sandwich, especially if I have no hot dog bun.

Bassy 01-08-2017 03:05 PM

I like chili cheese coney's and most of all just plain with ketchup. I'll totally eat hotdogs for lunch everyday lol. I did that one week because I was craving hot dogs. I just eat them with ketchup only.

Starry Night 02-08-2017 03:01 AM

I don't usually go for hot dogs but there are exceptions.

I love Costco hot dogs that are covered with ketchup, mustard, and relish. It's a wonderful way to end your grocery shopping trip.

I also went to Disney California Adventure, and there was this restaurant specializing in hot dogs called Award Weiners-clever name, right?! Their chili-cheese dogs are to die for. So yummy!

Neonriser 02-08-2017 09:27 AM

I usually have hot dogs with ketchup, mustard, and relish. Nothing fancy ;)
