Pokemon Sun/Moon
I'm super surprised we don't have a thread for this yet.
I'll just open with this: https://twitter.com/codahighland/sta...83399524093952 |
I'm super psyched for this game already, I definitely want a Mimikyuu on my team...
|
i ordered both games lol, i just could not choose, and i adore mimikyu <3
|
I'm sure I'll get one of them... I'll decide once exclusives are announced.
I will say I am still hoping the starter final form leaks are wrong... wrestler cat is much less cool than the lesser forms. |
The leaks have been confirmed by datamining the demo releases.
|
I know. :P Still hoping.
|
Release day is nigh! I'm rather excited. Has anyone decided what they'd like to get? I'm going after Moon, though the time shift sounds weird. Interesting concept, though, except my day begins at night after work, so the timing idea will be lost on me aside from weekends. I actually prefer the night scenery, too.
|
I really need to read more about 'me so I can make a decision.... I've actually managed to not read much about them yet.
|
I have a 8 hour work shift tomorrow D=
I'm running to best buy to pick up my copy ASAP so I can play a little bit. #TeamRowlet #TeamDecidueye #TeamSun #Alola |
I've been playing Moon.
Only got to the second island so far :D I am seriously in love with it, though. So glad they finally actually did something NEW besides just recycling the old game ideas with like one updated graphic. The last Pokemon game I beat was Black. Tried X, made it to the big city, but got SOOO BORED because it was literally just the same game with a couple different Pokemon and a new legendary. :/ |
I acquired Sun, picked Rowlet, although haven't actually played all that much...about to reach the first trial.
It is super cool. :D |
Went to the midnight release, got my copy of moon and started with Popplio~~
And Ive made it to the last trial on the second island. Got a shiny in the process, and its just jfbjDHFBJHUVFIHEVNDSJKVBBNJhjshafjsdghj. <.<;; AKA... I'm thoroughly enjoying it. xD |
You're the second person I've heard of to get a shiny starter.
You know what's funny, Black is the last Pokemon game I finished, too. I made some decent progress into Y but then I got STUPIDLY busy at work and had to set it aside and never got back to it. Diamond I logged 140 hours on but never actually FINISHED because I got sidetracked by being completionist. ^^() I think I only have like four badges there? I never played the GBA games. I tried playing Gold in gen 2, but I managed to get a defective copy of the game and never got around to doing anything about it. Before that, I pulled off a full-completionist play of Red -- even got a legit event Mew -- and did a fair amount of competition using Stadium's Poke Cup rules. It occurs to me as I write this that, in retrospect, I'm uncertain about the legitimacy of that event. It was run by a sanctioned Pokemon League location, by a uniformed Pokemon League employee, but I discovered MANY years later that said employee was a compulsive yet talented liar. It is ENTIRELY possible that the distribution cartridge he had was in fact created using a Game Shark, a fake security seal, and a great deal of patience. But I have no way of verifying it either way. |
>.>
I own no Nintendo stuff outside of a Game Boy Advance SP I won in 2005. <.< I love the designs, though. |
I wish I had a 3ds. It seems like a more unique approach to the franchise is finally being applied.
|
That is DEFINITELY true. They're shaking up the formula a lot, putting a different spin on things.
That said... As Pokemon games go, it's... startlingly short. My wife finished the game, including catching all of the post-game legendaries, in only around 41 hours. I don't even think Red was this short. |
My husband and I got Sun and Moon at the midnight release that our Gamestop had, and tomorrow, we're getting our strategy guide. I was making some headway in the game until I got past the last of the Trials/Grand Trials, and then I got my butt handed to me more than once. Most likely going to do a clean start and try to train a little more, and also do what I told myself I'd do and get all three starters.
Litten will be the one I ultimately go with in the end, even though I was a little disappointed in its final evo. Frankly I'm just glad it's not a Fire/Fighting type. |
Hah. Yeah, whatever bad things I think about the final evolution of Litten, it's still great because it's not fighting type.
Although, based on the design, I think they were planning on making fighting type, then somebody said, "hey! Hang on a sec, guys...I think we might get a lynch mob if we do fire/fighting a forth time..." |
My games arrive tomorrow ovo i ordered both >w>
|
I wish I had a 3DS! I want this game so much!
|
I need help evolving kadabra and need an alolan vulpix T-T
Help meeeeeeeeee lol |
It's definitely different from what I'm use to on other Pokémon games.. I miss the gyms and the Pokémon league.. but the concept is definitely interesting.. I love Mimikyu
|
I like the game(Moon) so far~
Though every thing is so different and Im a grumpy old man internally and now I have to press 'a' to enter buildings //whinewhinewhine Although I did catch myself a goomy the other day even though it took forever~ |
lol. Didn't even think about the fact that you have to push A to open doors. It's common enough in games I forgot other pokemon games didn't do that.
|
True. I just get a little frustrated when they change things they dont need to you know?
::Edit:: Im a Platypus now? lol |
Well, I think it's good they actually changed stuff this time around. It's quite well done. :)
...And yes, you're a platypus. Give it a few more posts and you'll be something else! |
True. Especially since they changed a lot. It does give the series a new draw to people who've gotten bored with the old formula.
Are these all preset titles? Theyre pretty entertaining |
Yeah. I forget who wrote them, but there are many, many titles that will come up if you don't have a custom one set.
|
Thats pretty hilarious. Nice little detail lol
|
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...eaves2-1-1.gif I have loved the new game so far. It was a needed change to the series. I'll be more happy when I can move my pokemon from the bank to the new games but I shall twiddle my fingers till that time. The new games almost inspire me to take up the idea of a comic sort of following the story but with twists. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...ves2-1-1-1.gif |
My boyfriend got the Sun and Moon pack for Christmas and I picked Moon. Imma moon all of you with my Lunala~
|
I got sun for xmas and it's pretty fun
|
I have beaten the game with a Decidueye, a Pelipper, a Muk, a Magnezone, a Vikavolt, and Alolan Digtrio! I am considering adding Silvally, Solgaleo, Pyukumiku, and a Salazzle on my team used for battling other players. Are there any advice for using at least three or six of these pokemon when battling other players? I heard alolan dugtrio and salazzle would make a good combo, but from my personal experience alolan dugtrio and vikavolt would make a great duo in double battles becasue vikavolt is immune to ground type attacks! ;) What do you think?
|
Dugtrio + Vikavolt IS a reasonably good combination, especially with how powerful Ground is, but you're going to encounter problems using them against seriously competitive players.
Vikavolt's biggest weakness is a really shallow movepool and a painfully low speed -- and pairing with the moderately-fast Dugtrio means that you can't make effective use of Trick Room. Dugtrio does at least help provide counters against the Fire- and Rock-types that Vikavolt will have trouble with, but both of them are going to fall on their face against Pokemon like Drampa. Solgaleo is rather on the overpowered side, and it'll do well on most teams. Pyukumuku is annoying. It's effective, and it's actually more effective the stronger the opponent is. Unfortunately for Pyukumuku, it's only useful once. It can't consistently take out more than one enemy Pokemon, and most players will figure out how to avoid the trap after fighting it once or twice. The rest that you listed... Unfortunately, like Vikavolt and Alolan Dugtrio, they've all got their strong points, but they just can't go toe-to-toe with the big guys. If you're intending to play online and seriously compete against players who are in it to win, you'll want to pick better Pokemon. On the other hand, if you're just in it to have fun and don't mind occasionally getting stomped by someone taking things more seriously than you, then you can certainly have a good time with most of those. |
