Re-New
Hey. So I joined this site quite some time ago (4 years approximately...) but kind of fell out if it.
Anyway, I noticed it being discussed on another site and decided to just see if I could even remember my login. So...I'm bad at other intro post stuff...like talking about myself and my interests...but maybe I'll try to stick around this place for a while. *awkwardly shuffles feet* |
Hey there welcome back!
Similar story for me :) Great to see you though! |
Hiya, Kaderin! :D Welcome back! (was it a conversation on Syndrone involving me and Obsidian? :P )
Talking about oneself usually feels weird, so that's quite alright~ How's life been treating you? |
Well, yes that one and also the conversation you were having in Damies' thread there too.
Life's been alright, though I have been exhausted today and haven't accomplished anything yet. I do need to get up and go to the store soon and then work on everyone's Christmas presents because I am so far behind on getting those done. |
Oh yeah, I was talking to Damies about it, too. I hope Pirwen & emiliobool turn up again.
Christmas presents! I...haven't done that at all yet. Oh dear. XD I'd better get to it before stores get too insane. I don't have too many people to buy stuff for, at least. |
I wanted to do some drawing today but I also haven't gotten anywhere. My eyes want to take a nap but the rest of me is like noooo
|
Yeah. My trip to the store is for cat litter...and probably cookies...
I made the stupid decision to just make presents for everyone...so I have very little time to finish a stuffed fox, make 2 stuffed dragons, make accessories for said dragons, finish a blanket, make a pair of scaled gloves, and make a pair or two of socks. Not sure I'll get everything done in time... |
ooo are you crocheting??
I've made some blankets so far but the easy no sew ones XD |
o.o That's a lot of stuff! Good luck!
I'm curious about 'scaled gloves,' would that be gloves made with scales from The Ringlord? |
Glitch: I loom knit actually. The particular blanket style I'm making is fairly easy, it just gets kind of boring after a while.
Toho: It would be, yes. Figuring out how to use them with my looms was a real pain initially, but I've made some pretty awesome gloves and small bags with them. |
Oh, that's cool. :D I made a scale vest once a few years ago with those, and made some arm guard things with the extra.
Took a long time. ._. |
Were you actually chaining them? O.O
I want to learn real scailmaille eventually. I did start to learn chainmaille last weekend. |
ooo I always think that stuff is so cool but beyond me D:
|
Yeah!
Well. The vest and stuff was split-ring, so not quite the same, but I've made a few different actual chainmaille things. Still have a lot of rings sitting around that I haven't used, haha. I've made necklaces and bracelets for a few people, mostly with cheap materials, but I have done a bit with actual silver. I think the coolest weave I did was Byzantine Chain. It's just such a neat pattern. |
Very cool!
Yeah, currently I am just using anodized aluminum rings. I have made a couple of very basic bracelets, a swatch of European 4 in one, and a lanyard keychain in Byzantine chain. I have also learned helm's chain, though I need smaller (chain nose?) pliers to really do that well, and also learned how to make a Celtic star pendant the other night, though I need to buy some larger rings than I currently have to actually make one. Oh! And I've made some shaggy loops earrings. |
Neat. :D Lots of stuff! I have a few different kinds of pliers sitting around, largely because of bending rings, heh.
I'd considered making a bunch of stuff to sell in the past, but didn't actually sit down and, you know, DO it, so I just have materials scattered about, and just make things when people ask me to (which isn't common). |
Yeah. I kind of let chaining take over me for a week.
I will probably go ahead and get chain stuff in my Ets shop if/when I am able to update it. One of my friends offered to do photography for it, but I need to build up some stock first. |
If I decide to do chain things, I do a lot of it for a few days, then just stop and don't touch it again for a long time. XD
Having stock is definitely important for selling things, heh. |
Definitely. I'll definitely accept custom orders, but if you don't have basic stock, you can't really sell anything.
XD |
Something that I think would be super cool to do is get enough stock to be able to sell stuff at conventions.
...But omg. So much work. D: |
That would be really cool!
Unfortunately...the nearest (major)convention to me is like...2-3 states away in any given direction. Oh hey... So I have a couple of questions! 1. Is there any way to change the little tag under my name? If so, how? 2. Is there a complete/mostly complete item guide at all? I found the price guide thread, but it only is updated on items up to early to mid 2013. |
Ah, yeah, I've got a few major conventions within an hours' drive from where I live, hehe.
1. Name changes and title (the little tag under your name) changes are currently done via request here: http://www.trisphee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21194 2. I'm working on an item browser at the moment along with the new avatar editor. At the moment, the only public access to item browsing is if you know the name, you can link it directly like this: [item]Major Sparkles[/item] to get a link. Major Sparkles |
Ah. Unfortunately, I don't know any of the item names. I was hoping to set up a quest thread, but without a list of items I've missed since the price guide was last updated, it will be an extremely incomplete quest thread.
Thanks though. |
Yeah... There'll be a listing soon. :D For now, at least, the commons shops are much easier to browse through than they were a couple years ago!
|
That's definitely a good thing!
Small progress is better than none at all. |
Indeed! I try to constantly do updates for Trisphee, but big updates are slow going things.
So I stick in little things now and then, like the announcement notifications. |
Hi :D! What's loom knitting :o?
|
Potir: Ah...I'm bad at explaining stuff. But if you google "knifty knitter", you should find lots of examples and explanations of what it is.
The best I can explain it is that it's a really easy way to knit...only you can't use regular knit patterns for it. |
-searches-
Ohh! It's that thing! I read about it once in this book. Someone soldier inside a hospital was making things with that for therapeutic purposes. I remember wanting to try it after that XD |
You can actually make a lot of really cool things with them! Right now, my main focus is making stuffed animals.
|
Welcome back!! It always makes me happy to see returning members.
|
Hi! I'm also a renew! welcome back =^_^=
|
Thanks Ginger and Tsukimiya!
I actually had an avatar from here saved on my laptop for ages, but I couldn't remember which site it was. But anyway, it is actually pretty good to be back. |
-trex roars-
You lured me in! |
Yay!
8D *glompcuddle* Also holy shit your avi is beautiful. O.O |
Yeeee I was thinking my avatar was kinda butts xD
|
No no...MY avi is butts. Yours is a pretty rpg fairy character...
|
Well, there'd be little left to the imagination for said butts with that outfit, I think. :P
|
Too bad he's facing the wrong way to tell.
|
haha, indeed.
