Drink Reviews

Butterbeer (hot): This is still an espresso drink, which may take away from the authenticity of the drink some, but it is delicious! The combination of flavors makes for a sweet, creamy, complex, but not overwhelming butterscotch flavoring. This would be my go-to winter flavor if it wasn't a limited edition drink. (I mean, they have all the flavors regularly, so maybe it could be a "secret menu" thing...)
Butterbeer (iced): Delicious! Unfortunately, the flavor seems lighter and more subtle when iced, so it's not my favorite. In my opinion, hot is better for the butterbeer latte.
Chocolate Frog (hot): Also an espresso drink. I have to say, that, while good, this one was a little disappointing to me. It really was exactly what it is described as. A mocha and vanilla latte. It tasted alright, but I think I was expecting more from a Harry Potter themed drink than this was. Might be better iced.
Chocolate Frog (iced): Yum! The true magic of this drink is how much better it tastes when it's cold! Sweet and refreshing, I could drink this by the pitcher if that were an option!
Pumpkin Juice:You have no idea how badly I want to like this! Unfortunately, the pumpkin spice flavoring and the peach flavoring together somehow give it an almost bubble gum like aftertaste which kills the whole drink for me. But if you don't mind that, it's actually good. The first few sips until that gum-like flavor kicked in actually were similar to a piece of pumpkin pie. All-in-all, this is not a bad drink. It's just not for me.
Phoenix Feather: Was given a sample of this one to try. The blood orange aspect tasted good and overall, I liked it but would not order it because I don't like energy drinks just in general. But for those who don't mind energy drinks, I would say this is really good.

SparX 08-07-2017 11:43 PM

BUT BUTTERBEER FIRST!

They also had 3 "sharky" drinks for all of July because...shark week.

SparX 08-07-2017 11:49 PM

I would go for the pumpkin but the peach threw me off

Serra Britt 08-07-2017 11:51 PM

Wow...those look incredibly tasty XD

Kaderin Triste 08-07-2017 11:53 PM

I will try them all and report back on my opinions.

SparX 08-08-2017 12:11 AM

I kinda wanna try to make it at home now XD

Kaderin Triste 08-08-2017 12:21 AM

Haha...I imagine they wouldn't be too difficult to make at home really.

CactuarJoe 08-08-2017 09:05 AM

I want 5 of those Pumpkin Juices!

Kaderin Triste 08-08-2017 01:14 PM

Free drink for anyone who visits me!
;D

Espy 08-08-2017 01:37 PM

...I've never attempted Redbull but I'd make an exception for this.

Kaderin Triste 08-08-2017 04:25 PM

Yeah, same here.
I generally avoid energy drinks, but I am definitely making an exception.

Also...Butterbeer (hot) review incoming! Will try it as an iced drink also though.
Chocolate Frog is also one that can be hot or iced.
And picking up Phoenix Feather on the way to my 8am shift tomorrow morning. XP

Yeah...it's officially too far for literally everyone here.
Like, I think Glitch is the closest person to me and, depending on her exact location, it would still be a 5-6 hour (or more) drive.

Lately they've gotten really amazing at doing specials each month or every few months, which makes me undeniably happy.

Pinkie 08-10-2017 06:36 PM

I don't do coffee so it dissent phase me but I think it's awesome. I love Harry potter.

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 06:39 PM

I mean...you could probably get the espresso drinks as steamers (basically the exact same but without the espresso shots aka: steamed milk and flavoring).
I actually bet they'd be really good that way.

Quiet Man Cometh 08-10-2017 07:41 PM

Cool!

Not sure about the Pumpkin Juice but I'd give it a try, and the Chocolate Frog if I was in a coffee mood that day. I had Butter Beer at Universal when we were there. If this stuff is anything similar it would be pretty darn good! Haven't had it hot.

No Phoenix Feather for me. Energy drinks are a no-go.

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 07:53 PM

This is probably similar, but different. Because it's a coffee shop, the butterbeer is also an espresso drink. So coffee.
But without that it would be lots of butterscotch like coffee syrups and steamed milk.
Whereas, if I recall what I have seen and read, the Butterbeer at Universal is more of a creamy butterscotch soda?
But it would be similar.
And the butterscotch-esque flavor was actually really amazing.

Quiet Man Cometh 08-10-2017 08:20 PM

It was a soda of sorts, yeah, with cream soda as a base maybe? I'm not sure, but there are copycat recipes around, I'm sure.

I want to visit Montana at some point, if only to see what the fuss is about, and, you know, that guy in The Hunt for Red October.

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 08:46 PM

What guy...?
And to know what the fuss is about, go to Glacier Park and Yellowstone (which is in Montana and Wyoming, but the majority of it is in Wyoming if I recall).
Oh. And also, check out Great Falls for Giant Springs. I bike down there at least once each summer. More if I have the time.

Quiet Man Cometh 08-10-2017 09:22 PM

One of the Russian defectors is an officer who wants to live in Montana once he gets to the United States. He doesn't make it. :(

Yellowstone finally made sense to me as to why all those Winners on "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" kept wanting to go to Wyoming. (That or Alaska.)

Coda 08-10-2017 09:26 PM

Why? Oh -- Ming!

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 09:36 PM

Huh. Did not know that, Quiet. But then I've never seen or read it so...
Us locals generally are more familiar with movies that were actually shot in state like Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, (Shot actually partly in Great Falls) or A River Runs Through It.
XD

Quiet Man Cometh 08-10-2017 10:23 PM

Seemed as good a reason as any.

No.

dragoness129 08-10-2017 10:26 PM

You are so lucky, Kad!

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 10:31 PM

Quiet: It's as good a reason as any!

Dragoness: Haha...I am actually surprised by how awesome this is. But considering that all the good concerts and conventions are almost never near me, I am willing to settle for awesome theme and seasonal coffees.
XD

dragoness129 08-10-2017 10:44 PM

What area do you live in? What is the name of the coffee shop? I wanna Google if there is one near me.

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 10:52 PM

I live in the middle-ish of Montana.
And the coffee place is called True Brew. Pretty sure it's a local business. But there's a chance it's a small chain, I don't really know.

dragoness129 08-10-2017 11:05 PM

Drat, it does seem like it is only there.
I was curious and Mapquest'd it from where I am: 27hr 18min 1,835mi away
T_T

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 11:36 PM

Yeah...that's a pretty good trek.

dragoness129 08-10-2017 11:39 PM

Yeah, lol. I'll just keep saving up to go to Universal Studios at some point.

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 11:44 PM

*cries because no one will come visit me*
Haha...jk.
I hope you can go before too long!

dragoness129 08-10-2017 11:51 PM

Thanks. I want to save up a ton for all the souvenirs from the Harry Potter part!

Kaderin Triste 08-10-2017 11:52 PM

I demand a souvenir!!
