Wait, you were actually HAPPY to have been surrounded by bees? While I do like and appreciate them, I wouldn't want a bunch to surround me.

Satan 10-13-2017 08:33 PM

I was like a school girl with the cutest boy flirting with me, I was so damn ecstatic.
I had one in my hair, and had a whole bunch landing on my hand almost all day, even had one crawl over my phone while I was texting. They're so much more gentle than a lot of people make them out to be.

Boris 10-13-2017 08:53 PM

I refuse to believe this. One time, a bee decided to walk into someone's underwear and sting them on the butt.

Coda 10-13-2017 09:01 PM

Bees and wasps aren't the same thing. They're both members of Hymenoptera but bees are docile gatherers while wasps are aggressive predators and parasites. Bees have barbed stingers that cause them to tear out of their bodies when they attack (this kills the bee :( ), while wasps have straight stingers that allow them to sting repeatedly.

Bees are completely harmless if you don't upset them.

And wouldn't YOU be upset if you accidentally ended up in someone else's underwear?

Satan 10-13-2017 09:24 PM

I've only been stung once in my whole life, by a very angry bumble bee.
That's because I tried to pick her up after the dogs tries to eat her.

You forgot to mention how wasp are just overall assholes. My mom use to get stung by wasps living in our fence every time she mowed the lawn back when I was a child, and once I watched a wasp eat a butterfly I was pretty upset at those little black and yellow monsters.

The bee landed on the seat of their pants, or something and decided to walk into their underwear. There was no accident. Also, Killer Bees are territorial and will sting when you are within a certain distance from their hive.

@Satan: I don't like wasps... poor butterfly.

Glitch 10-13-2017 11:06 PM

Lusius Malfoyi does not harm peoples!

Coda 10-13-2017 11:10 PM

The bee climbing into the underwear was probably an accident. It likely thought it was just exploring around, and then it got scared. It wasn't looking for a fight -- since fighting is almost 100% fatal to bees, they prefer to avoid it unless they think they're going to be dead anyway.

Killer bees aren't a natural breed. They're a hybridization of two separate bee subspecies that aren't native to the same parts of the world. It was human action that brought them into existence. It's not especially surprising that they don't behave the same way.

"And then it got scared" XD

You do have a point about the killer bees, though.

Den 10-14-2017 12:03 AM

If you give them enough time, and don't try to swat at 'em, bumblebees will work themselves free if they sting you, thus ending the encounter with them flying away no worse for wear.

Satan 10-14-2017 08:09 AM

@Boris It's kind of preposterous to think all bees are aggresive/sting people for no good reason because of a few poor bees in pants/killer bee(they need their bee title revoked).

Like Coda said, I doubt that bee said "Y'know, I'd like to die today" then crawled that persons pants and stung them.

Why is the bee at fault anyways?? Shouldn't the human be at fault for having their pants open that much a bee crawls in? ;)

The bee likely began feeling sqaushed and panicked, I think a majority of bee sting stories are heae are because "I accidently sat on it" or "I addicently put my hand over it" never "That fucker came out of nowhere and told me to put em up!"

Long story short, bees are a lot sweeter than people make them out to bee, I've been handling wild bees sincr a child, putting my fingers on flowers letting them crawl on me, getting pollen on my nose and letting them land on my nose. If people are gentle with them, they're gentle back! :) (Please love the bees Boris, they need more love)

@Den I've never been stung till that big ole bumble, so I kinda quickly shook my hand, when I found her again she looked like she was dying :( I felt so damn bad I just wanted to save her from being eaten.. I guess it was either my hand or the dogs mouth.

Potironette 10-14-2017 09:04 AM

That honey looks really beautiful!

This Thursday a bunch of bees decided to dunk themselves into a bottle of Sprite. (At least I think they were bees, and not bee-colored flies.)
I like the idea of bees, and am pretty certain I won't get stung..but being comfortable around bugs is difficult.

Satan 10-14-2017 01:26 PM

Oh no! Poor bees also that honey has become honey crystals, they're beginning to roll them into balls!!
Aww bug phobia?

Claire Bear 10-14-2017 01:33 PM

one of my friends keeps bees. they have these large hives made of wood that they keep on their property. soooo much honey.

Satan 10-14-2017 01:49 PM

Dude! That's badass I wish I could keep bees, but I'm a traveler.

Claire Bear 10-14-2017 02:03 PM

yea she lives in the middle of nowhere on a large property with her parents. you need a lot of space to keep bees.

Satan 10-14-2017 02:05 PM

Last thing you want is an allergic neighbor screaming and swatting them ahaha.

Potironette 10-14-2017 02:55 PM

A traveler?

Not bug phobia--just I need to take a while to get used to the idea of every specific bug but I don't really get exposed to them.
Someone: "Look it's an ant!"
Me: "Eep!"
*two seconds later*
Me: *stares from a distance*
*a minute later*
Me: *observes up close*
*a good hour later*
Me: *starts contemplating why I'm averse to bugs*

Boris 10-14-2017 03:14 PM

You can probably have a portable bee hive.

Satan 10-14-2017 03:25 PM

Yeah! I move around a lot. Ohh I use to be that way as a child, till my step father would give me spiders and crickets and worms, then I started to love bugs.

I thought about that, but then I thought of a sad bee movie, she went to go find some pollen, but by the time she came back it was too late, her hive and all of her hard work, gone... She began her hard long journey to find her hive but alas, it was never found.
