Claire's Art Thread
hi i make art.
my paintings under this spoilers process images to demonstrate the size of the work just for fun some photography |
lmao i put this in the wrong forum. ;-; wow super nooby, claire.
It's in the right place now. :) And those are some cool paintings!
thank you so much. both for moving my thread and the compliment. :s-joy:
I think those are just beautiful! And so large too, it's impressive :)
Thank you Serra. The larger scale was my teachers idea and I'm very glad I began to go so big!
my review is in an hour and forty five minutes. i feel like vomiting. ;-; i hate reviews.
;-; my review went surprisingly well.
hey that is awesome!
Your painting style reminds me a lot of the Lascaux cave paintings but with a modern edge.
Hehehe. I read somewhere that cavemen might have painted in caves because they liked the sound. I like the sound of my metal knives hitting my paper. I think about it a lot.
Beautiful pieces!! Please keep us updated with your work!
thank youuu <3 i'm working on something silly and colorful right now i'm excited.
Interesting process you have. I've never hear of anyone doing that in real life before.
thanks, i did lots of experimenting to find my process. it's super fun to make these ^.^
If I had the funds, I'd donate to see what else you make.
luckily i have a boyfriend and parents who are 'supporters of the arts' haha.
my first painting teacher said his best advice for young artists is 'to marry a supporter of the arts' lol. |
Ooh, yeah, same, I'm the happiest when I have charcoal/graphite/whatever everywhere.
"Marry a supporter of the arts" must be the advice my husband got haha!
There is a quality in your paintings on the first page that remind me so very much of Degas. |
aaa Mekatra you're a lucky one.
Thank you so much for bringing up Degas that's such a compliment. I'm highly influenced by impressionism and post impressionism. I didn't start drawing dancers because he drew dancers, I started the dancers because I think dancers take the human form to it's most beautiful impossible limits but once I started them I certainly was spending a lot of time looking at Degas's dancers. |
I did something new. Kind of combining this anime thing I was doing based on Hikari Shimoda's work but with more of like "My style" this time. I'm really happy with this. I call it "shōjo manga"
u cant tell from the photo but there is literally so much glitter on this and all over my apartment (thanks for not complaining about the glitter, doug.) https://i.imgur.com/1J71a2D.jpg |

Oh it's cute! I remember when Shoujo Beat magazine came out and my oldest sister had a subscription to it. She was obsessed. Your art does a great job of capturing the kind of softness that the genre is known for.
My husband is the lucky one, lol, he's the artist, I'm the supporter. XD Your love of impressionist and post-impressionist art really shows, but not so much that it looks like you're just straight up copying styles of artists. |
not gonna lie. I really want the stickers.
xD |
lmao glitch i need more stickers now ;-;.
what kinda art does hubby make mekatra? i actually used an issue of shojo beat in this. i had two of one issue so i tore it up for this collage. |
He draws and does graphic design. He does a weekly norse pagan comic strip too. He also runs our chainmaille/other stuff shop online.
