Hey, I wasn't too active over on Voltra so I don't know who here on Tris is involved with it, but long story short, it's recently gone down due to issues with their main developer.

I've sent out a few PMs to Trisphites who I know were also on that site, but if you were on Voltra and I happened to miss you, please feel free to message me. I have links to the Discord channel and Facebook page, which have information on what's going on and the steps being taken to remedy it.

Actually, the Facebook page doesn't really have much information about what's going on other than vague statements about the site hopefully being up again soon and people who donated will be reimbursed.
Beyond that, they also direct you to their Discord.

Always unfortunate to see an avatar site go down.

Eh, the staff there's working pretty hard on getting it back up and running. Already have a new dev on board. Main problem's the inability to access the database, and without it, it's a bit difficult to get word out to the majority of the userbase that Baz is pulling an extortion gimmick on the main website.

Should try and reach out to a developer and see if they still have access to a email address list of some kind.

Fork has a history, so I'm not surprised.
I am surprised that he was taken on for the Voltra project in spite of that.

Illu -- No, that's the problem, there was only one developer and that was Baz.

Sternum -- Nope, not Fork this time around.

I know about the whole drama so well XD I got pulled into it just because I am the most well known user ont he site, I'm being dragged down to hell for something I wasn't even part of. FML!

Espy -- Oh! :s-shock: my bad. Fork was on the team in the dev phase so I assumed he was still there, and that's why I thought Baz was not the only developer.
So the 'Under Maintenance' page says it's all Fozzy's fault smh >.> that's the last thing I'd have expected because he's the pixelist lol. Also the one who conceptualised the site so I'd expect him to care more about his baby but we don't know all sides of the story I guess.

And the page further says Voltra Online is for sale now and open to public offers. :/

Yeah, Baz is trying to get more money out of Voltra, money that they don't have due to recent circumstances. I'm currently trying to contact as many people as I can remember were on the site, who aren't on the FB or discord channel, since they might think it's really Fozzy's fault.

Unfortunately, I wasn't active enough to be familiar w the userbase, but if you know of anyone, I could try to contact them.

To be honest with you it seems this is a common Trend on newer sites. People think it’s easy to run a site and they open the site for a year or so get tired of it and run with peoples money. It makes it hard for me (as well as other users) to want to support a new site

I heard about Voltra 3 months ago. Didn't take long.

People should just come to Trisphee! :P We're not going anywhere.

I mean, I made a couple nice friends there, which sucks now that it's gone so soon, but in general, I like Trisphee better. Our events have a wider range of staff planned games, whereas there it was mainly "quote the post" and art stuff. Plus, everyone here is super nice and it's not so fast paced that I can't keep up with conversations, which, while maybe not the best for the site in terms of financial support, is great for users like me, who prefer to not have their posts get lost in the crowd.

Ugh I spent so much time getting multiple sets for both of the events there, and earning the donation items, and customizing my profile. SADNESS.

I donated last week, I believe, and I don't remember.

There are plans in the works to bring it back, and hopefully soon. Apparently Fozzy has already found a new developer, and s many of the more active users are on the discord chat.

I’m not joining again after they did me dirty. Fozzy kicked me off discord in fear of me defending baz. When I was as confused as the rest of the users, I was at work and found out I can’t go on the site anymore. I was upset, I tried to file claims to get my money back. Then later that day, he made a statement that he kicked me off because I violated the tos of Voltra. Ummmmm I did that after I was randomly kicked off for no reason. I wasn’t kicked off because I filed claims with PayPal.

Previous donators/benefactors may be reimbursed on Voltra v2. Qteapon has a list of all donations, so she can make it happen.

It would be nice if the discord gave out currency, so everyone won't start from completely from scratch again when it launches. Fozzy already has enough on his plate tho.

On Facebook, they do state that they jave a complete record of donations and all users will get their ohms back.
I'm just a little ticked that I spent so ling getting 5 full npc event sets all for naught.

I was on Voltra...but not much, but then again it was only up a month or two before this happened. It just doesn't bode well for the website, or the future iteration that they're working on right now .-.

-shrugs- I'm generally a pessimist, but I'm actually staying pretty optimistic about Voltra, even though I've been through lots of other site closures.

Well, from what I've experienced, most websites go down and NEVER come back, unless it is a planned down time....and sometimes not even then.

And yet Syndrone Online, even after all the crap, is still up and running for now, to my knowledge.

But I've never seen a website go down this quickly (or a person looking so douchey so quickly either....I read the Facebook)

I do think the most important part is that many of the really active users are still together in the discord chat, and haven't just all scattered yet.

I don't even have a discord. I see no advantage for having it really .-.

This is why I play a game a few months before I ever give any money to it. (Sorry, Trisphee, you're still earning my trust. Couple more months, we'll see.) Voltra was so new, I knew I wasn't gonna donate for a while on there. I feel for anyone who paid up, I'm glad I'm cautious about these things.

That is a wise position to take, Claire. Buying sure currency for anywhere should come after you know you enjoy the place, and are certain the administration isn't gonna just take your money and run. (Or implode)

Trisphee seems like one of the least likely sites to implode to me. I'm kind of amazed it's been online this long with such a smoll userbase. Unless it was bigger at some point, I don't know I just got here.

Implosion sounds distinctly uncomfortable to me, so...I shall avoid it. :P

User activity has been fairly low for a long time. We've seen a gradual increase over the past year and a half or so. I think in the very early days it was busier, but I wasn't actually around.

I'm hoping for the user activity to continue rising... Ideally slightly less gradually, but we're certainly not going anywhere what ever the case. :)

This site has one of my favorite avatar systems. I like being able to customize the layering, that's important to me. I tried inviting my friends from Virtual Popstar but I don't think any of them have joined us here.
