[M] Magically Modern World [PB+Biscuit]

this is a rp between myself and Biscuit, feel free to read the story we create XD
-----------------------------

You'd think that magic, wizards, ghosts, elves, ogres, witches, dragons and many other magical things from fairy tales would have died out with time... this is not true. Magic and all its children have thrived alongside common humans into the modern times.

Magic is available for everyday use and convenience... of course the more well off you are the more potent and long lasting magic you can get ahold of if you are human. For those born with magic or a keen sixth sense there are many jobs and activities. Got a ghost rattling your pipes and waking your children every evening? Call a Professional Ghost Hunter to have the ghost removed. Have a problem remembering something very important even if you write it down? Visit a witch or warlock to have a potion brewed that will improve your memory for
a month.

Though for every good thing magic can do... there are a plethora of bad, wicked things that magic can do just as easily. There is a magical underground were forbidden magics are practiced openly and illegal potions are brewed to perfection.

So watch your step as you enter this Magically Modern World.

The woman stared at the man in disbelief as he spoke to her, gritting her teeth turning back towards her home assuming the man in front of her was nothing but a fraud.
"As I was saying, you just need to hire an electrician to inspect your home, it isn't a ghost that causing your power outages you probably just have some old wiring that needs to be replaced." Ryan forced a smile while trying to explain however the woman didn't seem to be listening and instead complained about his incompetence and should having hired a real ghost hunter before letting the door slam in front of his face.
The young man groaned throwing a coat over his shoulder as he made his way back to the car ruffling his hand through his dark short cropped hair, packing equipment he had brought with him into the trunk. He glanced at the invoice of his job and crumpled it throwing it into the backseat before starting the engine. "I think all this hard work deserves another celebration at the bar." He pinched his fingers against his brow before heading to his favorite pub, wondering how he had been able to go on for so long with so many dead end leads, at this rate he was going he would end up filing bankruptcy before finding an actual ghost.
It had been only a year since Ryan had started up his business, and in truth he was very gifted in his ability to be able to see or even commune with the dead, however he had a hard time making a name for himself, the clientele who hired him either did not suffer from an actual haunting which seemed to be 95% of the jobs he was contacted for or they would opt for a more reliable name than his own when he did confirm a spirit residing in the house, either way it's been nothing but a headache for him, a headache he chose to relieve with a bottle of booze.
He glanced up to the dark building in front of him, only the neon green words against the small building would ever hint at it being any place of business. 'The Witches Brew' He gave another small sigh of defeat before exiting his car, it felt like he was coming here more and more often nowadays, something he wasn't proud of, nor ever would admit to anyone outloud.

Class was finally over for the day, stretching his arms over his head Oliver sighed happily as he felt his shoulders pop. That felt good, not as good as a roll in the hay with a new partner might feel, the young man grinned to himself wolfishly, his eyes flashing amber for a moment before fading back to their dark green color. Tattooed covers tones arms and dark brown hair was cut into a stylish side swept cut. “Hey Oli! You heading to the pub tonight?” A pretty blond girl who had a dash of sparkle across her cheeks as iridescent wings flitted behind her.

Oliver grinned. “Was planning on it Farrah! Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” He flirted with a wink and the fairy girl let out a laugh as she blew him a kiss and flew off. Campus was full of many different beings, a few human too that were brave enough to apply to the magic based collage that Oliver attended. He was glad that he didn’t have a shift tonight at the plant. He needed to get laid.

The dark brown haired man wasn’t watching where he was going when he bumped into someone, a pretty redhead with a black beanie over her fire colored locks glared up at him with brown eyes lined with dark makeup. “Watch where you’re going meathead!” she said with a scowl on her freckled face as she slapped his helping had away before she used a snap of her fingers to gather all her fallen things to her shoulder bag and then sprinted past Oliver.

“Witches….always so touchy….” Oliver rolled his eyes as he dusted his hands off and found his car in the parking lot.
-------------------
HannaBelle was late… she hated being late… that would look bad on her records and lower her chances to keep her scholarships at the college...Crammed together with other people taking the subway train the flame haired witch looked at her watch and bit her lip to help keep her temper under control. It hadn’t helped that she’d knocked into a man in her dash to catch the bus and then train on time.

“You’re late… I’ll keep it off the records this time Miss Owens as it is your first time being late.” The nasally voice belonged to a green skinned goblin who was the manager of Potion House, a moderate potion making company that mass produced easy to make potions, they worked someone their workers to hard but the pay was good, and they had a benefits plan that covered a lot of magical mishaps that could happen when dealing with potions.

HannaBelle was hurriedly taking off her hoodie and beanie, pulling her red locks up into a bun and pulling a hair net over them before pulling on the gloves and apron that held the Potion House logo. “ Thanks Hugo, class ran late, I'll Try to be faster in my dash to leave.” The red headed witch said as she closed her locker and joined other workers, young witches like herself and some warlocks, lower class elves, a half dryad and a pair of centaurs all worked in this branch of the factory, brewing, bottling, sometimes testing the quality of a potion, and then loading them into trucks to be shipped around the city.

No one spoke, just nodes of acknowledgement greeted the red headed witch as she took her spot at a big brewing pot, looking into it and squinting she gathered what was needed to finish off this skin care potion, specifically for the lovely and fair skinned elven women who went gaga for the stuff in stores. Slowly HannaBelle settled in for a long and boring shift… how she longed to be back in the vine covered kitchen of her teacher, but she wasn’t a little girl with need of a guide anymore… even without a proper witches licence she knew how to control her magic and brew, she could also fly on things… like a broom, but she always felt that was overused for her.

To be able to cast freely she needed to finish her witches license courses… mostly it was learning about the rules of magic and the history of witches and warlocks. She was also gunning for a potions masters diploma one of these days. ‘One step at a time little raven.’ her teacher’s voice softly echoed in her head as she settled in for a long evening.
------------------
Green eyes were sparkling with mischief as they glanced around the pub called ‘The Witches Brew’ with glee. So many lovely people here tonight. “Twenty bucks says I can get the number of any cutie here tonight.” Oliver said and his group of friends laughed, used to Oliver’s sexual nature, he was a good friend to have, even if most of his friends started off as a one night stand, there was just something magnetic about the young shifter.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-09-2018 07:04 AM

Ryan watched as others passed into and out of the pub, it was a popular hangout spot, especially with other species than his own. He never really fit in with normal people, most treated him like some sort of freak, at least here, he had managed to make a friend or two during his many visits.

The man tossed his jacket into the passenger seat and untucked his own black dress shirt from his pants, he hated looking too formal though his attire really didn't change from what he wore now. His eyes shifted back to the building as thick fog rolled into the streets, giving the pub a more eerie vibe than usual. A perfect excuse to spend more of his time drinking.

Ryan pushed passed a couple of unhappy Vampires trying to charm him into taking a joy ride with them but turned them down, it wouldn't be the first time he denied their kind. He waved to the bartender inside who greeted him and pointed him to an empty booth before turning their attention to a few customers who shouted out for drinks. "I'll be with ya in a sec Ryan, just take your normal seat I'll put in the usual for ya hun" Ryan nodded appreciatively before taking his seat, he glanced around admiring the different creatures in the lounge, people watching was far more entertaining when you knew that they weren't all human.

----------------------

Karla let out a relaxed sigh as the fog danced around her form, she twirled letting the wisps of moisture envelop her body giggling joyfully at the sight. She loved New Orleans far more than she ever imagined, every night seemed to be a new experience to her. It was no wonder so many creatures chose to live here, despite the city always having been famous when it came to the otherworldly or supernatural it was simply a beautiful place in general.
She hummed happily weaving in between trees as she made her way towards her destination. "I can't believe they wouldn't take it... If I'm right it shouldn't be long until I find that school they talked about."

As the woman walked green energy seemed to appear around her intertwining with the fog that seemed to followed her. She had been directed to a school for magical creatures for her talent, she didn't feel even they would find her useful others seemed convinced that she would find her place here.

----------------------

Ryan took a large bite from his burger and sipped on a beer while reviewing a log of appointments he had for the week. Nothing seemed particularly promising but he always had hope that things would turn his way eventually. He glanced up every now and then locking eye contact with the various creatures or faeries that didn't seem too pleased to be sharing the establishment with a human but shrugged it off, even their kind required his talents at some point.
He didn't feel the need to prove he belonged, there were plenty of others who had stopped and made small talk with the man, whether it was of his personal life, or how business was going. He knew there were people there he could go to if things ever got ugly.

PurpleBox 06-09-2018 03:46 PM

The wolf shifter was buzzed by the time his friends had picked out someone they thought would outright refuse the charming young man. A human that sat in a booth by himself in the back of the pub, a regular like the young group at the table now, but rarely had they seen him interact much with people other than the bartender.

“Get him to at least talk to you for five minutes and you get ten… the full number and the talk I'll give you a fifty instead of a twenty.” A large orcish male said as he threw back his head to chug his large mug of beer.

“You’re on Wo'rug!” Oliver grinned as he polished off his own smaller mug of beer before getting up from the table and heading towards the lone human, a slight sway in his slim hips as he moved, only caused by the alcohol a little.
---------------------
HannaBelle was shrugging out of her uniform late in the evening along with others from her shift. “You sure you don’t want to come with us for drinks?” A plump blond asked the ginger haired girl. Looking into the others dark blue eyes, freckled cheeks and plump tempting lips almost had HannaBelle saying yes… yes so hard… but she shook her head no.

“I don’t drink alcohol, plus you know what crowds do to me.” Her hand tightened reflexively at the thought of the last big event she had to go to that was so overly flowing with people she’d made a few things go pop… when they were not supposed to go pop. She barely managed on buses and the trains.

Plump lips pouted and the blond shrugged. “Alright… you have my number if you change your mind?” Long lashes batted as the other witch grabbed her bag and proceed to leave… and yes HannaBelle had the other’s number… but she would never use it...Shrugging her own shoulder the redhead witch pulled on her street clothes again and plugged some earbuds into her heads as she shouldered her bag and dashed out as the factory shut down for the night, wincing she saw it was later than she thought… her parents would be worried… they’d been worried about her being you so late for a while now…

Her human, non magical in any way, parents…. It always rubbed her a bit oddly that she had been born to folks with not a drop of magic in them...heck they had not even known that Granny Tamick had been a witch...no one on the block had a clue till she showed up after HannaBelle had inflated the family dog after it had been barking at the small girl nonstop.

The redhead thought nothing of the fog as she walked down the dark streets, the melodic and sometimes screamed lyrics of the Black Veil Brides filled her ears as she went deeper into the fog, not yet noticing the other figure in the fog with her. When the fog got thick the young witch sighed and lifted a hand from her pocket, a soft blue light encompassing her hand as she created a ball of light that seemed to push the fog away from her, that would work…
--------------
“This your first time here?” Oliver asked with a charming smile when he approached the human male. The shifter knew it wasn't the others first time but since he didn't know anything about the other it was a safe thing to ask. The piercings in his ears glitter in the light that bounced around the pub.

There was a air of confidence around the dark haired shifter, a little cockyness but nothing overly offencive. HIs green eyes where like emeralds with how deeply they shone in the light, it was almost hypnotising to watch flecks of amber move in and out of his green eyes.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-09-2018 05:28 PM

Ryan glanced up at his visitor and closed his folder in interest. "No, It's not. I can't say I've spoken to you before.. something you needed? And is it just me or does it smell like someone's wet dog got inside.." He sniffed the air glancing around trying to pinpoint the smells origin to no success. He shook his head forgetting someone had approached him extending his hand out. "Oh, I'm sorry.. I get easily distracted when I'm here. I'm Ryan, so is there something you needed Mr. uhh..." Some part of Ryan hoped he wouldn't end up as the target to someones prank, it seemed to happen all too often being the only human at the pub more times than not. He studied the young mans features, he was well built and didn't seem to put out any vibes of maliciousness which only seemed to confuse him more so.
---------------
Karla glanced up from her feet sensing the use of some sort of magic, her eyes pierced through the fog to the woman approaching her.
"Oooh, you're a cute one aren't you? Can you help me? I'm trying to find my way to the university ? Err.. the one meant for ones with magick in their blood. Like us."
She smiled letting her energy vanish from around her before the witch would be able to identify her, most of the time people tended to ignore her other than random men hitting on her most people never noticed it. However in the rare occasions she tried to socialize with others she chose to hide any hint of her powers from others, it was how she had been taught her entire life, though she never really understood what people found so appalling.
"If you're in a rush though, I don't want to slow you down." She took a quick at the young woman admiring her figure, she couldn't have been much younger than herself, her eyes turned to the orb of blue light coming from her hand a smile crept across Karla's face she was always so entranced by others use of magic no matter how small.

PurpleBox 06-09-2018 11:46 PM

Oliver blinked green eyes when the man didn’t respond like he’d though… most people where at least flustered or annoyed that he bugged them… this was new… and new was exciting. He flinched at the wet dog comment.. Great… someone with a sense… “Oliver, Oliver McDool… pleasure to meet you Ryan.” Oliver shook the others hand with a grin and a firm shake. A small tingle ran up his spine like every other time he’d come in contact with a human with a strong sixth sense.

Clearing his throat a bit Oliver spoke again. “Was wondering if what you do for a living...not many humans willingly enter a pub like this regularly...and seam comfortable...call me a curious cat.” Oliver grinned, his eyes flashing amber briefly, not threateningly but curiously, his eyes looked like that of a wolf for just a brief moment. In that moment he caught a breath of the human's scent… and it was strangely alluring to the shifter.
-------------
‘Cute! What the actual F…’ HannaBelle thought as hazel eyes looked towards the other women. “The University is on the other side of the city… you need to take a train and a bus to get there.” She found herself saying, a slight flush on her cheeks at being called cute… no one called her cute in a serious way… always a joking way.

The redhead noticed that the other was staring looking at her orb of light. “It’s just a conjuring of light… nothing fancy…” she wasn't used to anyone but her teacher or her parents watching her magic so intently. Even as the strange energy around the girl vanished HannaBelle could tell that there was something different about her.

“So… you’re gonna be attending the Uni?” She found herself asking after a moment of silence. The whole look of this girl is different than any the young witch had met. Sure there where the classical Witches that ended up with green skin and offensive noses… the new age looks for them and ones who were born to a high class society where they were immaculate in their image. Right up there with the elves in poshness.

The others white and black hair was strangely attractive… but HannaBelle put a stop to that right away. She needed to focus on her studies and her job...and taking care of Granny Tamick in her old age. HannaBelle lived with the old women now, helping the women with her clients and making smaller, more fit to each client types of potions. Feeding the women's 10 cats was also in that job description, she didn't mind the furballs… preferred them over dogs any day.

“Where you given a map or any directions?” She also found herself asking as she pushed some of her hair out of her face with her free hand that wasn't lit up with magic. The small pentagram styled ring she had on her ring finger sparkle briefly in the movement and the light.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-10-2018 08:40 AM

Ryan opened back up his files glancing over a set of names, He hated to be rude but his business was on the line here, and if he couldn't find actual clientele willing to pay his rates soon he would lose everything he had owned.
"That can't be the only reason you came to speak with me, Oliver you say? Especially with your friends over there peering towards us looking as surprised as you with when I actually introduced myself." He glanced up at the male in front of him studying his eyes for any sort of reaction before clearing his throat. "I don't find it weird at all that I come here, the booze is cheap and food is better than average, if you MUST know though I'm am.. I guess you can say Exorcist? I can see, touch and talk to the dead, I own a business trying to aide people, or creatures that may have a ghost problem. In truth, I have an extraordinarily powerful sixth sense as my sensei has said, but not being born in a wealthy bloodline has been quite hindering" Victor crossed out a few names from his paperwork marking them as cleared of any potential hauntings before returning his attention back to Oliver
"So what's the deal, why are you really talking to me?"
---------------
Karla was still transfixed on the glow of her hand, gently touching the girls hand with her own feeling the warmth of the magick emitting from it."Its.. just so beautiful.." She muttered softly before returning to her senses after the witch had spoke . "The OTHER side of town? You've got to be freakin' kidding me.." She let her head hang as she mumbled to herself about getting back at someone before pepping up to the question.
"Oh no! I'm not a witch you see... I'm.. err I'm just here for my work, I got put in charge of a relatively important task and it seems like I've been screwed over by a jealous colleague. Her face flushed when she mentioned she wasn't a witch, it would have been the easiest thing to claim to be in normal circumstance, she wasn't normally caught off guard by someones appearance or magic as she was with this redhead.
Karla blushed knowing why she was so flustered in the first place, if it had been anyone else she would have performed her work far better than she had.
"Anyways! I think I should be able to manage, a train and bus to reach it you say right? I'll figure it out, thank you so much for your help!" Karla bounced a few steps away from the witch before stopping in realization.
"OH! My names Karla by the way, I don't know many people here so it would be nice if we could maybe be friends, you can show off some more of your pretty magic for me maybe! That would make my day. Anyway here's my card, hope I get to see you again!" She shoved a small business card into the girls hand before sprinting off. The card itself was pretty bland being black in color, only Karla's name number underneath.

PurpleBox 06-11-2018 01:36 AM

HannaBelle wasn’t fazed at all when the other said they were not a witch… there where many magical beings that had magic. Why people assumed Witch first the redhead really didn’t know. “Ah...It’s the Uni-Way express train… and the number 158 bus!” HannaBelle found herself calling out as the other girl left, pale hands gripped the sleek black card, a flush on pale cheeks when her magic was called pretty, again… it was a odd, but not unpleasant feeling.

Stuffing the card into her pocket HannaBelle began to move to make the rest of the trip home. Headphones back in place over her hears as her boot covered feet crunched against the ground, she kept the ball of light out as it was dark and the street lamps where not working properly. She really needed to get her motorcycle fixed…
-------------
It was clear to the flirty shifter that his flirting was falling flat for this man. So he decided to be blunt. “Trying to flirt with you to get your number….most people cave by now and give me their numbers….and my friends and I haven’t really seen you talk to anyone outside of the bartender….” The wolf shrugged, his pride wounded a little from his flirtations not seeming to have an effect on Ryan… and when the man talked about his exorcism job Oliver sighed to himself.

Yup a sixth sense alright… and many up and comings had trouble getting started. HIs human neighbour had tried to stay out on her own before she’d caved and joined the workforce of a big name ‘physic’ company. Now she looked like a shell of her former self…

“Looks like I’ll owe my big friend twenty bucks now.” Oliver said running a tattooed hand through his dark brown locks.
--------------
“Granny I’m home! Hullo Ichabod, Maxly.” HannaBelle called out and greeted two of the old witches cats who purred at her entrance.

“Running late today in many ways I see Little Raven.” a wise and slightly cracked old voice echoed form the parlor and HannaBelle sighed to herself, she’d expected the old women to be asleep at least.

“Yes… last class ran late… history… we’ve just gotten to the Salem trials…. Not looking forward to that bit of charred history.” HannaBelle said entering the parlor, Granny Tamick was sitting in a old wicker chair with a black cat curled up on her lap, a old pipe puffing out rings of smoke hung from the older womens' lips and HannaBelle moved to cleanup the women's’ glass on the side table.

“There’s a strange air about you… did you meet someone on your journey home?” As the women spoke HannaBelle stopped.

“You could say that… she needed directions to the university...I think someone messed up her directions on purpose…” HannaBelle trailed off before she entered the kitchen to wash the glass, she grabbed herself a quick snack before kissing Granny Tamick’s forehead as a gesture in lew of a good night.

Heading up to her room HannaBelle didn't feel the old women’s grey eyes on her. “You try so hard Little Raven… yet you keep yourself caged… you must free yourself… you must fly…” the old women coughed as she spoke, rubbing the soft fur of her oldest familiar, she used a little magic to wheel herself into her first floor room and into bed.

Many questioned why the old witch called HannaBelle, Little Raven… it actually had to do with the red heads first attempt at transforming herself into a animal for a brief moment… instead of the cat she’d been aiming for… she’d ended up a baby raven… shocked and squawking up a storm in fright.

She had not tried that spell again until years later when her magic was more stable.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-11-2018 03:09 AM

Karla waved her hand in thanks towards the redhead, some part of inside hope she would take her up on the offer and get in contact with her, she checked her watch as she sprinted towards the train station and gritted her teeth, a little more angry that she had been lead astray. She pondered how she would get her revenge for the misinformation but instead decided to drop it, if it weren't for the false advice she would never have run into the witch. She cursed as she pushed through the train doors making it inside at the last moment.
"Damn it! I was in such a hurry I never got her name! Gaaahh!" she hung her head shaking her head at how careless she had been. She turned her attention in front of her as she saw a pair of black boots in front of her. A man stared hard at Karla who glanced around to see nobody else around. "Something you need? her voice was more serious in tone as she glared at her uninvited company, as much as she loved how unique the city had been traveling in this fashion always brought trouble to her.
The man grinned mischievously grabbing at her arm pulling her to her feet. "All I need is you baby, how about we have a little fun since we're all alone?" Karla smirked sizing up the guy, pulling his hand off her arm as the train entered a tunnel. "I suppose that's alright, after all I haven't eaten tonight!" she grinned letting her energy fill the cab with a green flash accompanied by a quick short scream. Karla sat back in her seat humming to herself in the empty cab, daydreaming about the witch she had run into earlier that night.
---------------
"Huh? Is that what you were doing? I'm sorry I'm not very.. receptive to that kinda thing, no offense of course. I'm sure it would have worked on anybody but me.. unless ya know, they were straight." Ryan babbled on about how it wasn't a bad attempt, just the wrong target in this case. He repeated the same thing over in cycle trying to not hurt the mans pride more than he already had. "I'm err.. not into people in that sorta way. Sorry. It's not you, I just haven't found anyone who I find to be my type.. and it seems to be a very broad range of not fitting the bill so I just label myself as Asexual." His palms began to sweat feeling he wasn't helping the situation any more before writing down a number. "I don't think you should expect much else from me but here's my number so you don't have to pay your friends any money, its the least I can do for you since you weren't here to run me out or somethin."
---------------
Karla stepped out of the bus, feeling a little guilty of the man she disposed of earlier. She ran her hands through her hair. Nobody would remember him, it was how her magick worked with her.. profession. Anybody she had killed with her magick simply ceased to exist any longer, families and friends would just forget that he ever existed.
Still it was a harsh way to act when he had done nothing wrong to her, how was he to know she was in a bad mood. "I gotta learn to keep my cool.. that wasn't right..." she muttered to herself feeling more guilty than before. She looked up to the university in awe as she approached pushing through the courtyard into the main building. She pulled a package out of her bag, the box was old and falling apart at the edges revealing a black book with an intricate cover inside. "Already destroyed the packaging huh? It's a good thing I've arrived then."
She walked fast through the school following the signs to the library, she approached the slender woman in the front desk sliding the damaged box in front of her.
"Hi there.. I was supposed to hand this over to you all to lock up, this is from the.. - - "
The woman interrupted her holding up a finger to her face and nodded "It's alright, I understand.. we will make sure to lock this up right away, nobody else will ever see it again." The woman studied Karla for a few moments before standing to her feet and placing the book into a wooden ornamental box. "You're a bit young, to have to handle these kind of burdens.. You shouldn't have to do these things at your age. Let the others.."
Karla shook her head and grinned at the woman "No, no! Its really alright! I enjoy being trusted with this kinda stuff, beats being stuck in a classroom all day that's for sure, plus I don't think it'd be good for me to be locked inside all day I would go crazy"
The woman smiled solemnly touching her face gently "Well dear, if you're ever in the area and want to talk at all, just ask for Tara alright? I'm sure its hard keeping friends around in your line of work."
Karla nodded sadly for a moment before exiting the room, her life had been quite lonely, Tara was right, it was hard keeping friends around for long at all in her line of work for others, she never had anyone who stayed around long enough to be able to consider one.

PurpleBox 06-11-2018 04:02 PM

“I’ve turned the eyes of a few straight males before...Asexual….”Oliver sighed, put out but not overly upset. He was bound to miss one or two times with his charms… “Thanks, I’d only try to run you out of here if you came here to cause trouble… and seeing as you come here a lot that’s clearly not the case… so you’re safe.” Oliver offered one more flirtatious smile before he accepted the number and went back to his group of friends who began to question him animatedly.

“Where's his number? It doesn't count if it’s a let down hotline!” Wo’rug snorted through hi big nose and carefully Oliver handed over the number. The big orc worked with telephones and their numbers, he had an uncanny ability to know if a phone number was fake or to one of those dump lines that some girls gave out to get creeps off their backs. “Well the ancestors be praised… it’s the real deal.” The orc had a mix of a frown and a grin.

“He clearly wasn’t receptive to your flirting wolf boy… but at least he was nice enough to not tear you down.” a male with red hair, pale blue skin and piercing yellow eyes said around a mouthful of fangs. The slits on his neck fluttering before he took a sip of his water, there where many glasses of water in front of the male that clearly was used to being in water.

Oliver shrugged as he pocketed the phone number before sneaking a sip of Farrah’s pixie martini. The overly bubbly texture strange on his tongue but it would affect him the same way it would a human. “Even with my charm I’m bound to miss the mark once or twice. I didn’t score with you either Derry.” Oliver tilted his head towards the fish man who grumbled to himself about already having a mate that would rip his fins off for sleeping with another man, flirting was fine.

The dark haired shifter settled in for a night of getting playfully ribbed about his miss by his friends, maybe he’d convince Farrah to have another roll in the hay with him… she was a free spirit of a fairy and she had about another 100 years before she felt the urge to settle down.

Green eyes with flecks of amber kept glancing towards Ryan with a curious nature to them.
---------------------
HannaBelle had not gone straight to sleep that night, she looked over the card that Karla had given her, watching the iridescent letters move as she tilted the car this way and that. A soft mew from her lap had her moving one had to pet the calico cat that had decided to nap on her lap, another of her teachers many cats. The red headed witch didn’t have a familiar of her own yet. She needed her witches license for that… to bring her magic to a animal to make it her companion, letting it help her with spells and potions and things like that. Part of her thought that she might not even have one… because she wanted to focus on potions...not get pulled into the political shit storm that the world of magic was becoming. More and more illegal magicks where being practiced in the underground markets...sadly though those markets where the only places to get some rare ingredients for potions and spells, it was one of the reasons that the leaders of the magical realms had not cracked down fully on taking down the markets.

HannaBelle had accompanied Granny Tamick to one once… when she was 13, a vital year for a witch to find out what type of magic they were suited for...while she still hadn’t been allowed to find out her true magic nature… Granny Tamick had said that she had potential, and an aptitude for general magic, no real specialization...which oddly enough was a specialization in itself apparently… still...that was one of the reasons she wanted to focus on potions.

Shaking her head slightly as she placed the car down and scooped up the cat from her lap, already in her PJ’s she let herself fall to her bed, the cat curling up on her side as she fell asleep. A few more of the cats crawling into her bed during the night, most of the older ones staying with their mistress in the first floor bedroom.

Oliver was slightly drunk as he stumbled out of his car from the passenger seat, Farrah was in the driver's side, the least drunk out of all in the group that night. Hs families home was a little bigger than the average home, mostly because ALL his family lived in it… uncles or aunts that married into the family still moved into it, there were a few different names under one roof now because of that but they all were loyal to the McDool name.

“Th-Thanks -hick- a-again Fa-fa-Farrah.” Oliver grinned drunkinely as his fairy friend giggled as she helped him to the front door, he managed to unlock it and get inside with a parting kiss to the fairies cheek before she was zooming off on her own towards her apartment.

Oliver all but collapsed into his bed in his room, he no longer had to share one with his siblings and he was thankful for the solitude and the ability to bring people home if he was so inclined. Falling to sleep his mind conjured up visions of pale skin, dark hair and dark clothes, and that rambling voice….lingering traces of the humans scent clouded his sleep as he passed out.
------------
HannaBelle was walking quickly from the campus cafe with a big cup of dark coffee with witches hazel sprinkles on top of the whipped cream topping the dark drink. She didn’t have any classes till after lunch today, but she was here to check on the prices of the mechanics classes, mostly their prices on fixing student vehicles… and while it was labeled a mechanic course, they learn to fix all sorts of transportations, from brooms, to vacuums to motorcycles like HannaBelle’s ‘Beast’ sitting in the town home garage.

“Hey sssexy witch.” A tall male with green scales greeted her. Rolling her hazel eyes HannaBelle approached the snake man.

“Vert… I’m here to-” “Check the prices again yesss?” Frowning at being interrupted she nodded with a sigh, she knew that Vert meant no disrespect… his kind always interrupt each other. It was their way of showing a level of comradery among each other and it seemed it had bleed over into their interactions with other species.

“Yeah… the Beast need fixing… and taking the trains and buses is getting to be to much…” HannaBelle said rubbing her forehead slightly, her long flame colored locks where all loose today, slightly disheveled as she had not had a chance to brush them this morning.

The snake man nodded, his tail rustlign behind him as he flipped through some papers to see the prices. This wasn’t HannaBelle’s first time coming here for repairs to her precious bike… the thing was it was a human made bike that she had upgraded magically herself… so parts where harder to come by. Letting out a surprised hiss the snake man pulled out a list and laid it flat for the witch to see.

“Because of the carnival coming up the big boss if giving big discounts, hoping to draw in more people for lots of work… says here that it would cost about 150 for your bike.” He noticed the witches wince and sighed with sympathy. “You know the boss doesn't like human made things.. But that’s the lowest price we have during this sale… i could try and clip on my student discount of that will help?” The snake man asked with soft hisses.

“It might… I need to check my account… thanks again Vert… I’ll make sure to have that lotion you like ready before this weekend then ok?” HannaBelle gave a smile to the snake man and he had a hissing laugh, neither of them were attracted to each other but they could half flirt with words and actions. HannaBelle never had her heart in the flirting though… because she was drawn to the more soft forms of her fellow females… and while that was no problem to the other magical people in the community.. It was still a issue with the humans she hung out with when she was home. Friends from her day in human school, her own parents who thought she was just too picky somedays to find a boyfriend… Vert had met the Owens before… nice couple and they would just be happy to see their daughter happy… with a male or female… at least that the impression the snake man had of them.

Watching the witch leave he sighed and went back to sorting papers.
-------------
His head was killing him…. He had drunk a lot last night and his dreams had not helped. Today he worked a full day in the factory, cutting and packing meat. All grades and types, the ones that humans were used to and… some more less savory kinds that magical creatures would eat now and then. Oliver tried to not think about some of the dark or overly bloody meats the cup up.

“You’ll get used to it son.” His father always said. Yeah.. Oliver didn’t think he ever would. Rubbing his temple with the inside of his wrist to try and stop the headache that the sounds of machinery wasn’t helping. The shifter knew it would be a long day.

Ryan waved to his new acquaintance as his group of friends surrounded him, he shook his head not quite understanding what the big deal was before pulling out his cell. "Uhh.. hello yes, This is Ryan Favor with 'Favors for the Dead', yes I'm calling about your appointment on Tuesday are we still.... yes... yes no problem I understand. Yes, okay thank you." The man slammed his fist into the table letting out disgruntled mumbling mixed with cursing. He turned to find the bartender watching him amused by his frustration. "What is it Sandra, here to give me a hard time about giving into frustration again? Its been a month and I still haven't got a lead, If I can't find a big job soon then.."
The raven haired woman slid next to Ryan in the booth, making him feel a little uncomfortable. She was gorgeous by any normal persons standards easily, finding out that Ryan wasn't interested in sex in any way gave her more reason to flirt with the man, watching his awkward reactions always made her laugh. "Oh relax, I'm only this close to you because I care about you more than the average patron and know you've been having a hard time... which is why, I have a huge job for you. I'm friends with the CEO of a major company, he's having some, problems I think you'd be the perfect fit for." Ryan eyed the woman suspiciously as she leaned in whispering something seductively into his ear. "Are you serious? They want to hire me? That would give me enough attention that I could start taking serious clients!" She giggled at Ryan's change in attitude planting a kiss above the mans eye who almost seemed to be in tears from her news. "Now listen I'm putting MY name out there for you, if you fuck this up it effects me too alright? I hear that the spirit is extremely malevolent and has caused some serious 'accidents' which may have resulted in death, so it needs to be dealt with. Just speak with them when you have the chance they'll set up a time." Ryan latched to the woman who seemed surprised at how clingy a happy human could be. "This means so much, I could kiss you right now I'm so grateful" The woman pushed him away laughing as she picked up his empty drinks and headed back behind the bartop. "Kissing's only fun if you're into it dear, now go home and make sure you let me know how it all ends up!"
---------------
Karla watched Hannabelle wander the campus from the library windows, she intrigued by the girl. She felt drawn to her for some reason, she had even lost sleep with her haunting her dreams, whispering sweet promises into her ear. "Maybe she hasn't called because she's been so stressed.. I should try to help her out a little, I'd appreciate that if I were stuck in this kind of routine everyday."
The woman sighed, some out of boredom and some out of sheer loneliness it was odd being in a school and not socializing with anybody, though at the moment only the one girl had peaked her interest there were surely other students who would be intriguing in some regard to her.
The tips of her fingernails glowed with her green energy as she used her magic to listen into the girls conversation with the reptilian. It was subtle enough that nobody would ever be able to make it out, concealing her magick was probably Karla's best talent, next to using her powers outright in the open which scarcely happened.
Karla made her way to the snakeman after she was sure Hannabelle had left before entering the shop. "Excuse me, Vert? That girl, with the red hair trying to buy parts for her bike, I'd like to purchase the top quality parts she needs and pay for the labor as well to have it fixed. The price doesn't concern me as long as it seems fair I have the funds on me right now if you'd like it upfront. If she asks who did it, keep it exciting only give my hair color.. or something!" Karla's eyes sparkled in excitement of the deed, doing good things for people felt nice despite what her mentors had tried drilling in her head.
---------------
Ryan sat at his dining room table eyeing the number on his phone before taking a deep breath and hitting the call button. He waited a few moments after a couple of rings a voice answered him on the other side.
"Yes, this is Ryan Favor, I was told you would have a job for me?" Ryan's eyes grew wide in shock hearing the voice on the other side confirm the job Sandra had set up for him.
"Yes!! I can come over tomorrow morning for a first inspection, after that I will perform the cleansing to rid your business of the spirit. Can you just tell me some of its behavior, what kind of activity do you have at the moment? Ryan's excitement diminished almost as quickly as it came as he acknowledged the voice on the otherside of the phonecall. His tone took a more serious tone as he wrote a few notes and pulled out a notebook. "Oh, no.. I can definitely do it.. its just.. well you should have dealt with this before it got that bad. It's no problem though I'll handle it. I'll see you tomorrow for the inspection thank you."
Ryan stared at his own notes with concern building in his eyes, as he scrounged the room for all his research books and notes. He flipped through page after page highlighting certain passages and words knowing that sleep would not be possible this night after all for him.

PurpleBox 06-13-2018 12:55 AM

The yellow eyes on the snake man widened in surprise when the random girl with black and white had walked into the shop and spoke. He sensed no lies, no tricks….he narrowed his eyes slightly. “That can all be arranged… but what are you planning for sexy witch?” his tone was curious and how he said sexy witch was how someone would call their friend a nickname, no heat behind the words. Vert shifted threw the papers he had pulled out before to show prices to HannaBelle.

“Her bike is in need of many things to fix it… she did a decent job magicking the parts of it when she first got it herself… but the enchantments aren’t sticking, if the part is still good we just renew the enchantment, like i said the enchantments not sticking and in a way that’s what’s running her bike to the bolts.” He fished out a piece of paper and used a blue highlighter to highlight the parts and their prices that where needed, in his mind Vert was rounding numbers and thinking of any discounts he could apply. The dwarf that ran this part of the school was known for being greedy… but he was good with his work… so one had to be careful when asking him to fix something.

Once everything was handled Vert still looked at the strange women with curious yellow eyes. “You are new here...and doing something like this for the most underrated and powerful witch at this school…. Why?” again no heat behind his words just genuine curiosity. Behind him his tail flicked lazily in thought. A loud crash behind them in the garages made him wince as a angry loud voice began to shout at the students that had likely dropped something important.
----------------
HannaBelle was finishing off her coffee as she walked into her first class, today it was potions and their theoretical effects on humans, magic beings and the environment. The teacher was a witch dressed in hippie like clothing, extremely long hair in dreadlocks that had vines and flowers braided and growing in the matted hair.

“Greetings child of the sky.” The teachers airy voice greeted HannaBelle who rolled her eyes.

“Afternoon Madam Tenzky.” HannaBelle sat at a table with a cauldron at the front of the class, pulling out her notes form the last class, they were working on adapting a hair growth potion that could work on a dying plant. Both would need to stimulate growth but one revitilated hair cells and the other rejuvenated dead plant cells. Science and magic where more closely linked then humans gave them credit for.

The teacher grinned. “Still not embracing your spirit animal Miss Owens? I to was not happy with my spirit shape when i first attained it… who ever heard of a witch with a otter as a shifted form? Then it began to make sense when my love of the environment came to bloom.” The teacher smiled wistfully. Not all witches had spirit forms or spirit animals… and HannaBelle just wished that she’d gotten a cat like her mentor, would have been easier and expected… not a feathery mess of a raven that she’d turned into that one time… and very few times since.

Other students began to pour in, the bubbly blonde witch from the potion house smiled and waved at HannaBelle who blushed and hesitantly waved back. People began to seat themselves where their partners for the class would be and HannaBelle had been paired with a very Gothic looking warlock who was clumsy...you wouldn't think it by looking at him… but he was always dropping things and then apologizing like there was no tomorrow.

“Albert.” She greeted the tired looking man.

“HannaBelle….what were we supposed to do for homework again? I can’t remember if it was another theory paragraph or a full on essay about the potion….” he trailed off as he slumped into his seat and the redheaded witch sighed.

“Both… but they are not due yet you lazy buzzard.” She said and he snorted. He was a fellow feathered magic user...it was one of the reasons she put up with him.

Soon the classroom was full of potion vapours and some of the more elite students where covering their noses when theri potions made bad smells. They’d forgotten to put in the daisy seeds before the lizard shavings….amiture mistake in HannaBelle’s opintion.
----------------
Just once… once HannaBelle would like to not be covered in her potions work...Albert had yet again spilled the sample of their brew on her when he was taking it up to the professor with the other students before the end of class… now she smelt like flowers and overly sweet perfume that made her feel ill.

“Shouldn’t you know anti tripping and anti spilling spells by now! For Hecate’s sake you attended a spellementary school for warlocks…. And i was taught by a old women at the end of the block!” HannaBelle spat at Albert who was, again, apologizing to the angry red head.

“We have a spare this block you have a chance to change right?” Albert's voice was high pitched in embarrassment over spilling something again, HannaBelle scoffed, grumbling angrily to herself as she marched towards the campus locker rooms, mostly used by students in the sports programs or those who used the gym equipment a lot, but the average student could rent a locker for thirty minutes to change wash up and other things.

Albert hurried off to give the fumign witch some space… while she didnt come from a magically inclined family, HannaBelle was oddly high on the power scale, even if she was good at little bits of everything.

Hurrying herself she cleaned herself up with some magic and some mortal means she didn’t want to be late for her history class. On her pale and freckled hip rest a tattoo that depicted the alchemical wheel of elements and runes.
-----------------------
Oliver was bored… he loved his younger siblings but they were so repetitive sometimes… he’d been told by his mother to pick up his youngest siblings who both had gained their shifted form, a mouse and a lizard….and she’d told him to keep a eye out for the tricky twins that had gained their forms, and now Oliver was walking back home with a horned Lizard on his shoulder and holding a plump mouse in his hands, no one on their block even looked twice as they would easily recognize Oliver and assume the assorted animals were his siblings.

“You two need to stop running off during class… you nearly gave mom a heart attack, what a way for her to find out you two have your forms.. Finally… now everyone in the house has their forms again, until Aunt Immagine gives birth to her little one.” The mouse nuzzled his fingers, whiskers poking out between tattooed fingers had Oliver snorting.

Once they got home Oliver handed the pair, in their humans forms to his mother who was scolding them, orange ears and a tail to match had popped out of her hair and back in addition to her youngest children pulling a prank like that.

“Maybe i’ll have better luck at the club down the street… the bar is getting pretty dry in the pickings…” Oliver mutters to himself as he ran a hand through his hair… the hangover had not been the only thing that had made sleeping difficult for him… he remembered little of the dreams… but the smell. Oh that odd yet unique smell that he remembered from the human, Ryan… it unsettled him that he remembered the others scent out of all the things….

Sighing again he leaned into the kitchen to tell his mom that he was going out, she just waved him off before he grabbed his wallet and began the walk to the club. It was five blocks away but it was worth it to get into a all magic club, no humans allowed meant that they would serve the drinks that could kill a human if they didn’t know what they were ordering. Also it meant that beings that worm glamors could shed them and be themselves more.

Oliver wouldn't need to worry if he lost control and slipped out some fangs if someone pissed him off, it would be allowed as long as he actually didn’t bite the person.
------------------
During lunch HannaBelle went to the mechanic shop on campus again and checked with Very , surprised to hear that someone. “She had black and white hair…. Markings under her lip and a strange air about her… she didn’t give a name but she paid for a full refitting of your bike with the best quality parts… that means that you won’t have to get the enchantments reset as often...and it will actually fly properly now too once everything is set in place.” Vert explained looking over the paper with all the information. HannaBelle’s hazel eyes were wide.

“WHo the fu-....” she trailed off and stuffed her hand into her bag to pull out the black card with the strange shimmery letters her eyes lingering on the number…. And biting her lip she thanked Vert before going off to find a bench to sit on.

Dialing the number she spoke as soon as the call was picked up. “You paid for my bike to be fixed…. Why.” simple but blunt.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-13-2018 07:29 AM

Karla grinned like a child receiving a holiday gift at the mention of the witch's nickname she let out a small laugh shaking her head "Let's just say, I'd hate to see her be held back or distracted because she doesn't have reliable means of transportation. Life is so much more enjoyable when you don't have such silly burdens tying you down." Karla glanced over the paperwork and nodded in agreement with the costs and labor. "So with these parts then her bike should run as good as new then? I'd like to see it last for atleast the majority of her remaining time here." Karla signed the paperwork acknowledging the payment of parts and labor sliding a copy of the invoice with her own belongings. She stared thoughtfully at the reptile wondering how to answer."That's just going to have to be my little secret! Let's just say she's caught my eye is all." Karla waved to the reptile as she headed back to the Library, hopefully Tara wouldn't scold her for interfering with student affairs. Her job afterall was to make sure the item dropped off and to remain until she was sure it was completely secured.

---------------
Ryan stood in front of the massive building in awe of how large the building was. Purple flame lettered the company logo as it shifted between purple, to green and finally blue before restarting its cycle. 'Magus Core' This was the largest manufacturer of enchanted items or magical focuses, pretty much any being with even an ounce of magick in their blood had their enchanted wares from magus core. Ryan swallowed approaching the large stone doors in front of him, they groaned as the weight shifted when he approached revealing an entrance for the young man.
He stepped inside to find himself in a large lobby sculpted from marble. "You must be Ryan Favor, Xelthar will see you immediately please step this way sir." The gargoyle Ryan assumed was only a statue hopped from his pedestal giving a small bow and pointed to the door behind him. He returned the motion before rushing through the door to find a middle age man sitting behind a desk with a quill and parchment.
"You must be Ryan, I expect you are ready to start your inspection?" The mans golden eyes gazed up to Ryan glancing at the suitcase he had brought.
"Uhh actually sir, I'm pretty sure i know what its causing your problems, I hate to suggest this but I'd like you to clear the building out for an entire day to do my work. I know its alot to ask but this matter is rather serious..." He glanced up to the creaking wooden beams above him, he shuddered a little before returning his attention to Xelthar awaiting his answer who eyed him suspiciously.
"Impossible. If we were to stop production for even one day we'd fall behind. You are to rid us of this spirit so we can move forward from this headache immediately, you have come highly regarded however don't believe you are entitled to order me such things."
Ryan sighed knowing it wouldn't be so simple to convince the man, no matter how important he felt it was. "Sir.. I'm afraid I've already determined the spirit to be a Skadegamutc. It's also known as a ghost witch, they are very malevolent spirits who only wish to cause serious harm or death to any living being it crosses. I'm afraid if I started when the building was occupied your workers lives would be in jeopardy."
Xelthar stopped the motion of his quill studying Ryan's face carefully as the man explained the situation and nodded. "Fine, very well you have 24 hours. Tomorrow at this time the witch ghost better have been taken care of Mr.Favor until then, I will let you begin your work."
Xelthar clapped his hands together sending a wave of energy traveling the entire building once it hit Ryan he found himself in a dark room, it was the same one he had entered however it appeared to be empty, he glanced around finding the entire building seemed to be empty though he could still sense the witch ghost's presence near by.
---------------
Karla answered the phone excitedly knowing Hannabelle had just reached the workshop. She frowned while she spoke into the phone. "Awww... not even a thank you first? I even went as far as to make sure you wouldn't have a problem with your bike any time soon. As for why...." Karla paused for a moment with a voice behind her interrupting her and the phone call. "Lady Karla! Its Tara! You better get over here right away, something is happening with the Book of the Dead!

Karla glared at the librarian sending the woman tripping over her own two feet in fright at the sight of her. "Do NOT mention the artifacts name here! Its to be kept hidden!! I'll be there in a moment to deal with it, just don't let anybody else enter the library for now." She glanced down at the phone realizing the witch probably overheard her and sighed before placing the receiver back up to her face. "I'm sorry Hannabelle, I'm afraid something important just came up, if you must know though I paid for your bike to be repaired because I find you to be fascinating and I'd hate for someone with such potential to be distracted from stressing about such a small thing, is that a good enough answer for now my 'sexy witch' ? " Karla looked towards Tara and jumped to her feet seeing something was indeed happening with the book she had brought with her. "I REALLY gotta go! I'm sorry. How about we meet up tonight? For dinner maybe? My treat! I'll meet you at the station if you are interested otherwise I can just head home from there! Bye!" Karla hung up the phone not letting the witch answer and rushed to Tara's side staring at the book that started to emit a strange energy. "What... the hell..? Its still sealed right? how is it doing that? Tara glanced out the window and pointed across the campus towards the large building overlooking it all.
"It seems like the book is reacting to another beings power in that building, I wonder who could be in the Magus Core at this moment to cause this..."

PurpleBox 06-13-2018 08:05 PM

Vert nodded in agreement, seemingly placated in his curious thoughts over Karla and this ‘gift’. “She does put a lot of weight on herself to do her best. I can guarantee that the enchantments for these parts and the assembly have a 6 year warranty, even after she graduates she will be able to come back and get repairs.” The snake man tucked the signed paper into the pile that would be dealt with today, he set it on the top… partly to piss the dwarf off in a few minutes but it would be worth it.

Yellow eyes watched the strange female go...and the snake man hoped that this female would bring a smile to HannaBelle’s face… it had been a while since Vert had seen his friend smile.
---------------
HannaBelle blinked when she heard the librarians voice… was Karla in the library? Something about a book… a chill ran down her spine when she heard Karla speak to the librarian….it wasn't a pleasant chill.

“Don’t call me that!” There was clearly a blush in the redheads voice as she gripped her phone a pink blush over taking her pale and freckled face. “I’m not fascinating… I’m just a average witch that happened to give you directions the night before.” She said with a frown, the blush still clear in her voice, before she could say no to the dinner idea the line went dead when Karla hung up.

“What in Hecate if going on here….shit I’m gonna be late again!” HannaBelle noticed the time on her phone and began to dash towards her last class of the day, it was a short day today, a class about enchanting items to be of use to non magical folks. This class was sponsored by the big company Magus Core who where big benefactors to the Uni.

As she settled herself in the back of the big lecture hall she pulled out her notebook with Karla’s card where it had been hastently tucked. She knew that the professor would be talking about today, so she set about writing a list of positives and negatives to attending this dinner….date…. With Karla….
--------------
The club was closed today and Oliver wasn’t the only patron pissed off because of this. Kicking a stone on the ground in front of him Oliver was machine home with a sulky pout on his face. “Maybe I can catch Farrah when she leaves her last class...I’m sure she’d be up for another tumble in the flowers.” The shifter was grumbling to himself as he walked up to his home and pulled out his car keys before pulling his car out and got on the road to the campus.

Oliver had no clue about the goings on at the campus library, and he had no inkling that anything sinister was happening at the big corporate building he drove past. When he arrived on campus he sent a quick text to his fairy friend, knowing she’d turn her phone back on when class ended and sat himself down in the cafe, he saw that same red headed witch from the other day dashing past the cafe and smiled.

“Probably has a fully loaded course roster…. Glad I decided on the part time classes.” He grinned a fanged grin as he nibbled on the bagle he’d gotten along with his coffee.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-14-2018 06:54 AM

Karla stared at the book gritting her teeth, she didn't like the feeling of the energy protruding from the book, she took a elegant switchblade from her pocket and pressed it into her arm leaving sizable slice on her arm before stepping to the book.
Tara turned towards the woman in alarm "What in the world do you think.." Karla interrupted her not letting her finish and closed her eyes muttering something softly under her breath, green energy crackled around her wound and down her arm to her hands as she gripped the book. Tara stared at the woman speechless at the energy that seemed to pour out of her. "Blood Magic?! That's why you don't.." Karla shot her a look that shut the librarian up immediately who silently watched Karla's magick force the energy emitting from the book back into its pages, her blood soaking the binding of the artifact. "Miss Tara, thank you for your service, but due to unexpected complications I'll be procuring this artifact from you, can you direct me to your enchantment class? I need to speak to a representative of Magus Core immediately." Tara nodded understandingly and pointed out the window across the courtyard to another room not far away. Karla gave a small nod and reached into her pack putting a small white mask to cover her entire face, though her hair was rather visible there were no rules saying she had to conceal that as well. She pulled her hood over her head and leaped through the window landing near a crowd of students who muttered about her strange attire before she sprinted off in the direction of the maguscore class.
---------------
Ryan felt his way through dark building, even with his sixth sense the darkness seemed to suck away his senses, it was too quiet in the building now. The boards in the building creaked, settling as he made his way through. He sighed taking a deep breath, holding his notes tightly against him as he ventured to the upper levels. The spirit was avoiding him entirely, though its malice seemed to make the air unbelievably thick, he had a hard time breathing growing nervous, he never expected his first job would involve something so dangerous, or strong for that matter, the spirit he identified was one of the most feared legends the tribe had tales of, but like many legends there was always some origin of truth, sadly they did not get much wrong when it came to terms of what he hunted now.
tap...tap...tap... Ryan spun around to a sound seemingly by his ear, he gritted his teeth closing his eyes trying to sense the spirit, if he could only pinpoint its location then things would be easier.
I don't knowww you... why are you intruding in my homeeee? The voice seemed to come from every direction as Ryan twirled trying to see if he could spot the spirit.
"I've come to send you to your next life Skadegamutc! You are not welcome in this establishment, make it your journey easier and come find.."
Multiple laughter seemed to erupt from around Ryan at the same time, he clapped his hands over his ears while tearing open a bag of salt creating a protective circle around himself.
"Weeeee... are not leaving this place... we were brought here for a purpose... cannot leave until our tasssk is done.." the voices spoke together seeming to circle the man. Ryan watched seeing dark silhouettes seem to pass by his field of vision or peripherals, beads of sweat poured down his face as he planned his next move.
---------------
Karla barged into the enchantment class, her arm still crackled with energy though she had placed the book into her bag. [color=darkslateblue] "I demand to know what is occurring in the Magus Core Headquarters, she gripped her arm which throbbed from pain, the backlash of power she received from the book was almost enough to tear her arm off, somehow she managed to add another seal to its pages and stopped it from breaking itself free.

The students in the class murmured at her intrusion, some whispered about her strange attire or the blood in covering her arm while others just made jest about her over theatrical entrance. Some of the students shouted down to her complaining about her intrusion on the class . "You can't just barge into the middle of class like this! You're causing a disturbance from those of us that are trying to learn, better yet you don't even look like a student here what gives you the right to come in here and speak to any of us like that? You should learn.. -- " Karla snapped throwing her head to the student who addressed her [color=darkslateblue]"Shut your mouth before I rip your tongue out and force you to." She glared at the student through her mask speaking with a nasty snarl before pausing. She spotted Hannabelle in the back of the room staring at her still holding the card in her name. A wave of joy filled her face before she realized the situation hoping the redhead wouldn't catch on that it was her until she heard another student speak to her. "Uhh I think she knows you Hannabelle, she seemed to be staring straight at ya for a moment there." Karla clenched her fist feeling a little shame at her approach but turned back to the professor.
"I need to know what's going on at Magus HQ. Something or someone is with remarkable energy is causing a reaction in an object of interest, more importantly a reaction that the world would be better not to experience." She couldn't help but finding herself peer towards Hannabelle again admiring the witch before clenching her arm in distress, the curse left in her arm from the necronomincon seared like a flame, burning through to her shoulder like an uncontrollable wildfire destroying everything in its path.

PurpleBox 06-14-2018 11:47 PM

HannaBelle had been tapping her purple pen against her notebook, blocking out most of what the professor and rep from Magus Core was droning on and on about… he had a habit of repeating lessons and this was one that he had repeated before… in a way it was a blessing for the students who missed things the first time to pay better attention. For HannaBelle it was a bit of a bore… but she always endure it.

Blinking her hazel eyes when a figure entered the classroom with a white mask and a hood over their head, a few strands of black and white hair had escaped the hood… and it made HannaBelle stare back when she felt the eyes behind the mask on her. Eye widening even more when she saw the magic crackling around Karla’s arm… HannaBelle had a eye for remembering how a person looked after meeting them once… and she would never forget Karla and her strange ways.

The professor was visibly disturbed. Not only by his student’s outcry but the aura coming off the women before him. “There was supposed to be a exorcist coming to get rid of a spirits that’s been causing problems at the main building…. That’s all I know!” The professor said, the way eh girl moved and the magic around her screamed 'DO NOT FUCK WITH ME!' in big capital letters and even this pompous man knew better then to not cooperate.

While the others were distracted by the professor talking to Karla… HannaBelle used a small amount of gravity magic to give the student, a self important brat of a man, a very painful wedgie that he couldn't hold back the yelp at. By the time his head whipped around looking to see who would DARE to do that to him, HannaBelle had turned back to her notes, as if all going on bored her to death.

The tattoo on her hip tingles when she glanced at the book in Karla’s arms… what a strange book...she had a feeling that the air around the book would terrify many… but HannaBelle found it calming… she always had been a strange witch.

HannaBelle ignored the student that mentioned that Karla knew her… of course they knew of each other… the other had practically paid for her bike to be made new… and all HannaBelle had done was give her directions...Absentmindedly she rubbed her hip through her jeans, the magic within the ink seemed to be reacting to either Karla’s magic this time or the book in her ams.

“Class I’m ending today's lecture early…. No homework… it would be best if you all go home or to another part of the campus.” The teacher said after a moment and most of the students just shrugged it off and gather their things. HannaBelle was soon the only one left, having slowly gathered her things to have time to try and figure out why her hip was tingling like this.

“That includes you Miss Owens, there won’t be time for any questions today….” The professor said seeing that HannaBelle was still in the lecture hall.

“My tattoo is tingling Professor… and it’s one with magic ink…. Forgive me for trying to figure out why it’s acting up when it shouldn’t unless I’m casting some big magic.” The witch said with a frown on her face as she shoulderd her back and made to leave the room.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-15-2018 06:56 AM

Karla watched the students leave one by one, each seemed to have their eyes drawn to her arm though it didn't surprise her, they more than likely never had an encounter with magic as potent as hers before, even being a double edged sword the positives of her magic heavily outweighed the negatives in situations like these.
The woman cocked her head curiously at Hannabelle's comment about a tattoo reacting to her magick, she smirked at the witch as she pulled her mask off her face returning her attention to the teacher, she glared at the man who seemed all to aware of what her powers were capable of. "An exorcist? From where, I would have been notified if any certified exorcists were on route to the Maguscore HQ, don't bullshit with me, who is there right now, or am I going to have to force my way in and find out?" She clenched her hands, the book in her possession had finally stopped oozing out its black magic, she sighed in relief as she let her own magic dissipate as well.
"You know as damn well as I that this, is not okay, the grimoire was reacting to SOMETHING and it sure as hell was NOT some exorcist!" She gritted her teeth turning her head toward the Maguscore building, it wasn't far off campus, in fact the university and building were practically conjoined, it was good for the company as well as the school for them to be partnered together in some aspects.
---------------
Ryan concentrated in the darkness finally triangulating the sound of the spirit speaking to him, he made out two others that stayed in close vicinity of eachother. "You leave me no choice then... I'll have to force you to leave, I'm sorry it had to be this way." He closed his eyes taking a deep breath as he muttered an incantation to himself.
"Sisterrr... it thinks it can repel us from here... how foolish can it possibly be.. can I feast on its flesh yettt?" it cackled as Ryan repeated the incantation concentrating hard not to mess up any words as he repeated passages he remembered from his tome.
"Look how hard it tries... it really believes itself to be an exorcist... how disappointed it will be when it learns it does not have that kind of powerrr" The ghost approached the circle of protection he had created, the man clenched his eyes even tighter as the ghost smiled impossibly wide towards his efforts to repel them, its eyes shined a bright red and teeth glistened as he found himself screaming out the spell in fear of what was happening.
"What's going on?! Why won't it work? Why are you all not being pushed back?!"
The witch ghost that seemed to be in charge of the others stepped towards his circle gracefully, staring down at the protective circle before taking another step inside the circle looking up at the man slowly."A sixth.. sense does not make one an exorcist... you didn't come here to send us away, only to die..." The ghost slashed at Ryan who recoiled in fear, feeling a sharp pain in his face feeling blood gush from the wound. The man went pale stumbling his own feet before taking off for the stairs to the exit. "No, this can't be I'm an exorcist, I've been practicing all this time to be able to do this." he ran blindly down the stairs as the ghost witches cackling seemed to grow louder and louder as they pursued the man.

“The big boss didn’t want to pay a lot of money… so he fished around till one of his friends turned out to know a small time exorcist… some human with a sixth sense… that’s all i know i swear! I just teach here I may have been employed at the company but I’m a teacher, I don’t know the inner workings !” The teacher was sweating but he wasn't lying, he was a lower level employee that only heard things through the grapevine.

“The big boss used a spell to move everyone but the exorcist off the premises of the building…. Because the exorcist insisted on it….. I got the memo when i came into my class…for employee to not come back until tomorrow, exactly 24 hours after they were moved out by the spell.” He said wiping the sweat from his forehead with shaking hands, even though he had not been in the building the paper had still appeared on his desk this morning.

HannaBelle had heard the shaking in the professor's voice and frowned, she had paused outside the classroom but had not caught everything after the door closed behind her, effectively blocking any sound from leaving the class. Again she rubbed her hip as her tattoo settled down, it was strange, as if ehr magic had settled again after leaving the area with that strange book...with a aura that would terrify others…. It had calmed HannaBelle’s stressed mind for just a moment, it had been a calm that she had not felt since the one trip with Granny Tamick to the black market...it was strange….

Shaking her head, some flame colored locks falling over her eyes before she moved to walk away form the door, better to follow the professor's advice… maybe she’d use this time to do some research for her history class in the library.
-----------------
Oliver looked at his phone with the text form Farrah saying that a good chunk of the warlocks and witches had been sent home today… even the ones still in classes… it wasn't normal. The text sent a strange feeling though Oliver… he looked out the cafe window dark clouds were brewing in the distance… it sent a shiver down the shifters spine… his only ‘magic’ was his ability to turn into a wolf… albeit a very large wolf… so big a full grown human could ride on his back and he wouldn't even blink. He couldn't cast spells or use fancy magic items… simple magic items yes… and he and his kind had a strange immunity to magic based poisons..

A face flashed before his eyes… Ryan form the night before… what was the human up to now. With a sigh Oliver decided to just go home and see what his older sister was up to. The wind was strong when he left the cafe, it blew his dark brown hair all over the place.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-15-2018 07:44 PM

"And WHAT exactly is going on at MagusCore that would require an exorcist in the first place? Are you really only manufacturing enchanted items or are you getting into things that are out of bounds to your company?!" Karla didn't wait for an answer instead taking out her cellphone making a call, she exited the room promptly slamming the door in the professors face who had started to follow her. She eyed Hannabelle who seemed to be eavesdropping to an extent before returning her attention to the call. "Hello sir, yes we seem to have a situation at Maguscore, I'm going to head there immediately, wait... Skadegamutc? You've got to be fucking kidding me! I'll be there immediately sir, nothing to worry about, I'll get the guy out. Yes sir. I'll hand in my report tomorrow I've got plans tonight." Karla stared at Hannabelle as she finished her conversation. She pulled her exotic knife before making another slice into her arm letting the blood drip to her feet encircling herself, and in a flash of green light she vanished in front of the witch who had seemed to grow more interesting every moment that passed.
Karla appeared in front of Oliver, she stared at the hulking man and shook her head. "Unbelievable, go home wolf, if you haven't heard the news is that classes are cancelled for the day." She turned towards Maguscore HQ which was only a short ways away. "I can't believe they would send in an amateur exorcist to deal with something as serious as that.. I'll be lucky if he isn't killed before I find him." Karla broke off into a sprint towards the building, she had heard stories of the infamous witch ghosts, they were powerful spirits that enjoyed toying with their prey before making a kill, most who were killed by them did not have the chance to pass onto the next life but instead had their souls devoured by the evil entities.
---------------
Ryan gasped for air collapsing in the stairwell, the laughing echoed in his head causing him to be disoriented, his limbs burned in the exertion as sweat dripped from his face. He needed to get out of the building, and immediately. If he hadn't been so desperate he wouldn't have been stuck in the situation he was in now, though it wasn't the time to dwell on his powerlessness here. He opened the door in front of him tripping backwards to his backside as the woman stood in front of him, the Skadegamutc pointed at his face a row of sharp teeth behind its smile. "One eye blind, once you lose your sight completely its all overrr.. feast on your flesh and blood we will before we consume your soul."
Ryan bolted past the ghost who seemingly let him go for the moment, the building grew quiet almost immediately after entering the room he spun around to see the witch ghost behind him had completely vanished for the time being.
"Great... they're toying with me..." He did his best to keep his composure as he pulled out a mirror noticing the alarming gash that had blinded his right eye. He hadn't had noticed his field of vision had narrowed so much until now, wiping the blood from his face he stood to his feet. "So if they find me again, I'm pretty much a goner I suppose, what a joke.. I'm probably better off dying here as is. I cant do anything to protect myself after all..."

PurpleBox 06-17-2018 01:47 AM

The professor was shaking in his shoes as Karla spoke, he really was just a teacher that taught about the products of the company he worked for. Most he ever heard was if a product was faulty and to avoid talking about it in that lecture. When Karla left he basically collapsed on the floor in relife for the very scary women being gone.
-------------------------
Hazel eyes watched the knife wearily before blinking in astonishment when Karla vanished. “Blood magic….what the fuck have I gotten myself into….” the red headed witch breathed as she pushed her hair out of her face, whatever was going on was… bad...very bad…

HannaBelle moved swiftly to leave the building, even with the other women having paid to get her bike fixed it wouldn't be ready till tomorrow afternoon at the most, she knew how the shop worked. She didn’t have work today… so she planned to indeed try and get some homework done at the library till she … would meet Karla later tonight… the thought settled awkwardly in her gut… she wasn’t used to someone seaming genuinely interested in her…. It was odd… heck it had taken her years before she accepted the affection that Granny Tamick showed her.
------------
Oliver blinked his green eyes when a woman suddenly appeared in front of him.ck“What the fu-?!” he said almost bumping into the women before she spoke with a harsh tone, he glared ready to fire back a not to polite quip… till he froze when she mentioned a exorcist… and his mind instantly flew to the image of Ryan last night in the pub...and he felt his heart clench and almost stop completely.

“Wait! Who’s the exorcist?!” Oliver found himself jogging after the black and white haired women “What is going on?” The shifter asked as he kept pace with Karla easily. If Ryan was indeed the one in the Magus Core building… Oliver wanted to help...even if his kind where as effective as a untrained human against spirits.

When the two of them approached the building Oliver couldn't suppress a shiver that ran down his spine at the bone chilling aura that now surrounded the building.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-17-2018 07:13 AM

Karla gritted her teeth, glaring at the wolf who took chase of her. "It's none of your business werewolf, so just turn back now before you end up getting yourself hurt, the building has a spectral problem and I'm afraid your brute strength is going to get us nowhere."
The sensation from the ethereal magic sent a chill up Karla's spine as well, the spirits there had cast some sort of curse upon the building it felt, and ominous feeling spread through her gut as she eyed the already cracked doors of the building.
She turned to the wolf to answer his questions which she had blatantly ignored until then. "I don't know who the exorcist is, and to be honest I don't want you anywhere near here but the feeling I'm getting suggests we need to move fast if we're going to rescue whoever is inside. I make rules, got it? You do not leave my side for ANY reason at all, unless you would like to be killed by the spirits wandering here. If we have any chance at finding the human before he's killed I suggest you lead the way and find his scent quickly. I'll make sure nothing happens to you along the way. Got it?" Karla unbuttoned the top of Oliver's shirt, drawing a small symbol on his body, muttering something softly she pointed towards the door allowing the werewolf to take point. She shuddered as the overwhelming coldness came over them fast, the air was dry but the heaviness in it was almost unbearable even for her. "What... in the hell is going on here... how can a couple of Skadegamutc cause this.." she followed Oliver closely becoming a little unnerved herself, something she was not used to. The building seemed large, much larger on the inside than the exterior would lead a person to believe, the beams groaned as they passed underneath them, threatening to collapse at any given moment. "Well wolfboy, any scent of the human? We need to find him and get out." She gazed at their surroundings, it was entirely too quiet at the moment, and she was no exorcist, her magic would only protect them for so long before the witch ghosts could break her barrier.
---------------
Ryan wandered in a lower passage, he gasped for air feeling dizzy from the loss of blood. He wasn't entirely sure where he was any longer, coming across a false wall, and entered what seemed to be a secret passageway leading down, the flooring had disappeared just leaving him wandering on an old dirt path as he moved further beneath the Earth. He winced once he heard the voices calling out to him.
"There's no escape from usss... just give up, there's no point in running any longer, we'll make it quick if you come to us instead." The voice seemed to pass to another hallway further behind him, Ryan sighed in relief, the ghost witch seemed to have lost sight of him for now.
"Now where the fuck am I? How did you get yourself into this mess Ryan, I really wish I were just back at the bar having a drink." He shook his head, letting his imagination of booze and safety melt away. If he never had a job after tonight that would be fine, as long as he could make it away with his life, wandering around with only one eye was hindering enough however in the tunnels.
As the human wandered further into the tunnels a heavy gust of wind rushed through him from behind knocking him off his feet and through another lower passage, the wood cracked and gave way to the mans weight sending him tumbling down into a dark stone tunnel, he was even farther from finding an exit from this place, however the passageway he found himself in now seemed maintained and clean, candles lit the passage as he quietly made his way to a large open chamber.
"We found you."
Ryan felt a chill cover his spine as he heard the voice from behind him, he closed his eyes awaiting for death to overtake him regretting his decision of taking up this job.

PurpleBox 06-17-2018 05:55 PM

“Oi! I’m not a werewolf, Witch Lady!” Oliver shouted, his senses told him the women was a witch… and he didn’t like to swear at women… so Witch Lady it was. “I’m a shifter not some uncontrolled werewolf!” He growled as he followed behind her. A determined gait in his strides, he found himself giving a jerky nodd when Karla sai dhe made the rules.

Seeing as he’d bruted his way into her journey he knew it would be better if she made the rules. He blinked green eyes when the top of his button up shirt was popped open and a tingle of magic washed over him when the symbol appeared. By the time they got into the building Oliver semt nothing… and then a small trail of scent that was most definitely Ryan. A growl left his lips and he felt himself changing, the symbol staying on his dark fur as a stark white contrast as he took off after the scent, his tail twitched at the mention of ghost witches…. Two might not be able to do this… but a whole COVEN of the ghosts witches might be able to.

Ear’s on high alert as they moved Oliver followed the scent of Ryan, a deep growl leaving him when they found the blood trail… it made Oliver’s blood boil… and he barely knew the human… it was something he’d have to ask his parents about….

The trail of blood and the scent itself lead the pair to the lower passages. The doors that should be locked where all ominously open, it made Oliver’s fur stand on end something wasn't right...the trail lead to a oddly clean hallway… with candles and Oliver heard echoing voices.

“Down this way….” He growled out before he took off down the candle lit hallway. Normally shifters didn’t talk in their shifted form to maintain their hidden space among animals… but they could if they needed to. Human tales about animals that spoke where basically shifters who broke cover in one way to help a hero, or aid a maiden, that sort of thing.

When they came upon the chamber Oliver saw red, anger clouded his head when he saw Ryan bleeding from one eye the gash on his face…

HannaBelle had been told my Miss Tara to leave, the library was closed and all the students had been told to go home by their professors…. It confused HannaBelle to no end...she was walking off campus when she called her mum and dad to let them know she had dinner plans with… someone…. They pressed at her with questions over who she was going with….but she was tight lipped.

She called Granny Tamick after to let the old witch that she would be home late. The older witch was much more understanding, just telling HannaBelle to have a shock spell ready in case the person had wandering fingers. That made the red headed witch blush as she hung up and decided to so to a book store down the road to pass the time. She found herself in the back isle looking at book on the 'fabled' book of the dead, these books never went into detail, instead telling stories about various people who had claimed to own the book at one point.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-18-2018 12:25 AM

Karla followed after there shifter who seemed to catch on to the human's scent as quickly as she had hoped, she couldn't help but feel nervous watching the trail of blood as it grew heavier the further they had gone. "Hopefully its not too late... We need to hurry." She felt the words were wasted as the wolf had picked its pace up, she clung to its fur letting it carry her through the tunnels instead.
The air grew stagnant as they traveled further beneath ground, they were far beyond the normal rooms and chambers of Maguscore HQ, curiosity peaked as they passed strange rooms littered in dozens of old tomes the woman made a mental note to report these to her superiors as well when this was all done and well. It seemed the organization was indeed up to something behind their backs.
She let out a sigh of relief as the wolf had closed the gap between the human and them, even after getting a closer look he was injured badly, though it was better than being consumed by the spirits never to be seen again.
"Grab the human and get out immediately. Got it? This is no time to be a hero or whatever it is you got in mind." She could sense the spirits watching them, avoiding advancing as they approached Ryan.
"Are you real? you gotta get outta here, there are dangerous spirits here you don't understand! Leave me here and go!"
Karla shook her head, she lept gently off the wolfs back, bouncing in her few first steps flicking the human in the forehead, a surge of magic escaped her fingertips knocking him unconscious immediately. "He'll be fine, now lets get out of here Wolf." She could spot the witch ghosts glaring at her through the darkness, obviously not happy that she had taken their prey away, she smirked confidently at them daring at them to take him from them.
"You may have ruined our fun tonight, but soon this city will fall into chaos, our master will come after you bloodmage, your magic already taints his halls." The trio of spirits laughed, their voices echoing in the halls. "You can get away now but once he has a trace of your magic you are as good as dead.. You're nothing but a fly in comparison to him." the ghost witch seemed to relish seeing the pair escape with Ryan. Karla ignored their words instead concentrating on exiting the building, the spirits were far too intelligent in compared to normal ghost witch, something was terribly wrong here.

PurpleBox 06-18-2018 02:06 AM

Oliver growled at the spirits… but did as Karla said, he wasn’t stupid… as much as he wanted to try and take a chunk out of one of these….witches…. Once again hsi need to not sweat at a female of any sort annoyed him. Carefully grabbing Ryan, his massive teeth surprisingly gentle against the human as he hauled him up onto his back, only bolting at full speed when he feel the humans hands grip his fur even if the human was knocked out cold.

He had not complained about the Witch Lady riding him as he was used to it with how often he played ‘hairy horse’ for his younger siblings. He pointedly ignored the words blood and mage, he didn’t want to be involved with shit like that… even if the women had basically lead him to rescuing the human he had hit on last night.

Soon the three of them were outside the building, it still looked ominous as fuck and it made Oliver’s fur stand on edge. “What the fuck is going on?” His voice growled out, not a growl towards the Witch Lady… but just how his voice was like this apparently. All growls and huffs.

“We need to get him to a doctor… or a healer….who ever is closer.” Oliver said once he’d shifted back, Ryan now in his arms Princess style as it was just easier to carry someone like that… and the wolf wanted to hold the human close after what had just happened…. The thought that they might have gotten there to late… it made a heavy stone fall in his gut.
----------------
HannaBelle’s book bag was a bit heavier than when she’d set out this morning, she’d used the money she had saved up for her bike to purchase some books, one on soothsaying, the few shehad found that mentioned the book of the dead. As Well as a normal cookbook, she’d been ordering out to much lately and she was sure that Granny Tamick would appreciate a home cooked meal that was prepared without magic.

This took up a few hours as she looked through many books and then dropped them off at the townhouse that she shared with her teacher.

Now she was waiting inside the station that Karla had indicated… not sure that the other would even show up after what happened today… not that the red headed with ceven truly knew… she just had bits and pieces… and she knew well enough to not go poking around… yet…. Her flame colored hair was up in a loose bun with her bangs framing her face. The earing she wore where ones she had enchanted her self… to gently vibrate in her ears if soemone was lying to her...or being purposefully dishonest… she had yet to fix it to sort between white lyes of one's told out of stress or a desperate reason…. But they worked well enough to let her know if someone was lying to her on purpose.

“What the fuck am i doing… Dinner with a ….. Women i just met last night…. .” the witch sighed to herself and ran an hand over her face in irritation. She wore her black hoodie, with tight black jeans and a light grey shirt that had some paint splatter on the hem.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-18-2018 03:35 AM

Karla let out a exaggerated gasp once they reached the outside, she looked towards the human who still remained unconscious before turning to the wolf. "I'll leave it to you to bring him to a hospital, I don't think there's anything they can do about his eye, through magic or medicine unfortunately he'll likely remain blind in that eye for the rest of his life." she paced uneasy questioning what she should do, the spirits talked about someone in charge, if it were true then taking action against the MagusCore outright in the open may be a mistake she sighed running her hands through her hair. "Do me a favor, when he wakes, we will all need to talk, how about that pub on the other corner of town? The witches brew? I hear its a popular spot, yet desolate enough that I won't have to worry about having to watch my back for a knife." Karla decided against reporting every detail of the building only revealing that the human was rescued though the spirits remain a problem. A reputable exorcist should be able to take care of that problem so the building would be safe to atleast be occupied for the time being.
"I'm trusting you aren't going to skip town, so I'll see you and him next week lets say? I've got something else I need to take care of at the moment. If anything comes up however just give me a call on my personal line." She brushed her hair aside before handing Oliver her personal card, she glanced at herself in the mirror and groaned, sweaty and covered in wolf fur exactly the opposite what she had in mind. Karla waved to the wolf who had already taken off to get Ryan aid as she turned back towards the station, thankfully the buildings weren't far off, it would only take her a few moments to arrive to see if her beloved red head had decided to show up.
Karla grinned as she spotted Hannabelle from behind, she had decided to show up after all.
"You're having a lovely date is obviously the right answer, atleast until you see the mess of a person I am right now." Karla stepped in front of the witch, admiring the woman once again, she wasn't entirely sure what drew her so strongly to the woman, it was almost the same feeling she had when she acquired powerful artifacts.
"So you showed up after all! I'm so glad, especially after you saw.. err well too much lets put it that way. So is there anything you are craving? Money's not an issue so if nothing else take advantage of this night to spoil yourself to a great dinner."
She tried desperately picking at the hair that still clung to her clothes sighing after a few moments admitting defeat. She glanced back up to the redhead giving a warm shy smile hoping that her appearance or magick would deter her too much.

PurpleBox 06-18-2018 06:33 PM

Oliver nodded before he headed to the closest hospital, keeping a ear open for the sound of the human's heart beat and his eyes watching his chest rise and fall. “I’ll let him know.” Oliver managed to get to the campus and to where he’d parked his car and then he was off to the hospital. The dark brown haired man had checked the exorcist pockets and found his I.Ds and information that the hospital would need.

Ryan was rushed into the emergency room where doctors tended to him and Oliver told a half truth. “He was hurt in his work… a job with a angry spirit… I found him stumbling outside of the place and I took him here.” Oliver had a feeling that Karla didn’t want to be known for being at the pace…. The human doctors just nodding in understanding… most humans where gullible… and that now worried Oliver...they clearly thought he was human…. And he’d leave it that way for now.
----------------
A jump went through HannaBelle and she inhaled, some blue magic surrounding her pale hand out of instinct at the sudden voice, she hadn’t even heard Karla approach. Letting out a breath the magic faded. “Sweet Circe don’t scare me like that…” the witch sighed as she lowered her magicked hand and then rubbed her hip absentmindedly.

Pink was the color one could see on the pale freckled cheeks that belonged to HannaBelle at the word ‘date’. “I’ve seen people show up for…. Dates…. In worse condition…. You’re fine.” Rubbing the back of her head it was clear the redhead wanted to ask more about what she had seen and heard…. But she was smart enough not to…

Seeing the other’s trouble with hair sticking to things HannaBelle approached her. “Here… if it’s alright… I know a spell that can treat your hair like it’s been washed and cleaned… without any residue left over?” She didn't say that she had made the spell herself.. Painstakingly for her own hair, as her natural hair was massively curly and always got in the way so she used this spell and a straightening spell everyday to keep it all in check.

Once she got the go ahead a soft green glow surrounded her fingertips as she traced the magic over Karla’s hair, from root to tip and then muttered some soft words and stepped back, when the glow left the hair it looked like it was clean and tidy, in Karla’s usual style as well so that was a bonus.

“There’s a good Italian place a few blocks from here...it’s a little known place, human run but they employee anyone willing to work, human or magical.” HannaBelle shrugged as she gathered her bag.
---------------
It was well past midnight and Oliver had texted his parents letting them know he was staying with a friend who had gotten hurt. He was currently sitting in a chair beside Ryan’s hospital bed in a private room, Oliver had paid for everything that needed to be done, including a private room. He knew he wouldn't want other humans to over hear what he would need to talk about with Ryan….

The black haired human now sported a scar over his wounded eye, and Karla had been right in assuming that h would be blind in that eye… the doctors couldn't save it. Oliver sighed to himself and pushed his dark brown hair out of his face.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-19-2018 06:06 PM

Karla allowed the witch to cast her spell after making fun of her being startled so easily. She took a deep breath relaxing as the witch casted her spell. She knew she was probably curious of what had occurred earlier in the day, and debated on whether it was even okay to share the information with her or not.
"Italian huh? I guess that could be nice, its been awhile since I've had it. I suppose you have some questions you'd like to get off your chest while we are there as well." Karla let her lead the way still not being entirely too familiar with the city yet, even less if they were going to an out of the way location for their meal.
She requested the host seat them out of the way, so they could talk in private, the man who sat them seemed to understand and tucked them away in the back, not long after a waiter had taken their drink orders and left a basket of bread on the tables.
Karla buttered a small roll up and happily took a bite before glancing at Hannabelle's hip.
"What's the tattoo of? I remember you mentioning it acting up while you were in class.. sorry bout that by the way for cutting it short for you."
She leaned in close for the conversation, admiring Hannabelle's eyes as she spoke, she was slightly surprised the witch had agreed to come out to dinner after only meeting her once, even more so after she saw her using bloodmagic.
---------------
Ryan opened his eyes, though his vision still blurred. He instinctively threw his hand over his injured eye finding a patch of cotton and padding covering the wound. He groaned as he rolled to his side seeing the man from the bar sitting near by.
"Uhh, Oliver right? What are you doing here?" he watched the man who seemed to be relieved that he had woken up, though he was still baffled on why someone he met once would be in his room, he expected his family or someone else before him.
A nurse entered the room and pushed Ryan back to his backside.
"You can't be moving around right now, you're body is bruised and badly injured, not to mention you wont have any use of that eye any longer. I don't know what you were doing but I highly doubt it was worth the cost"
The nurse's voice hinted a bit of hatred towards magic users, she eyed his books.
"You can't be moving around for atleast a day, you're lucky to even be alive right now, if it weren't for this gentlemen here you might be dead.
The nurse left the room letting Oliver know that visiting hours were over and he would have to leave soon.
"I guess I owe you one.. how did you even find me though there was only that lady and wolf that entered the building..."

PurpleBox 06-19-2018 06:56 PM

“I do have a few questions….” HannaBelle said honestly, weather or not she’d ask then just yet was up for debate. She nodded in thanks to the man that sat them and she tucked some loose strands of hair behind her ear. Buttering up her own roll of bread she nibbled on it as she thought of what question to ask… before she could thought Karla asked about her tattoo and HannaBelle swallowed, a blush coming up on her face.

“It’s the Alchemical Wheel….well a simplified version of it with the western Zodiac signs…. I was slightly drunk when one of my human friends from High School suggested we get tattoos… we ended up at a magical tattoo and piercing parlor.” HannaBelle trailed off, remembering her friends brown hair and blue eyes…..she cleared her throat a bit before continuing. “Yeah…. She ended up with a sparrow that flapped its wings and I was going to get a bat…. But the ink and my magic had other ideas it seems… so now i have the wheel on my hip instead of a bad ass bat with fangs.” The witch shrugged as she nibbled on her bread again.

“It reacts to different types of magic…. Most of the time it’s just a plain tattoo….i guess whatever that book was, was strange and different enough for my tattoo to react...Normal it tends to only react around high elves or high fae…. Like really powerful magic users and creatures.” HannaBelle’s hazel eyes glanced at Karla… lingering over where the other women had cut herself…

“Why… blood magic?” She asked with genuine curiosity, no judgement at all, that in itself showed that the red headed witch had been raised without a deep biased against the darker magics. Her voice was soft as she spoke.

The sound of footsteps signaled the approach of their waiter with their drinks, HannaBelle had gotten a white wine. She was used to drinking cider or beers from the corner store… and she didn’t want to get drunk tonight… so mentally she limited herself to one glass of wine and the rest would be water.

“Have you lovely ladies decided on what you would like to order? Or do you still need a few minutes?” The waiter asked a smile on his face, pointed ears peaked out behind his black hair, his skin a soft tan color and his eyes a vivid green.

Glancing at the menu HannaBelle didn't even need to look to know what she wanted. “ A veggie and chicken pasta special for me please… with a greek salad on the side if it’s not to much trouble.” She had come here a few times with her parents and Granny Tamick, so she knew what she liked. The elf nodded and quickly wrote down the order before glancing towards Karla with a paitchent smile on his face.
------------------------------------
“Yeah buddy… it’s Oliver.” The shifter’s voice was even, clearly not liking the nurse’s tone but he didn't want to be kicked out.

“I told you last night Mate… I’m a shifter….at least i think i told you…. But yeah… that wolf… that’s me.” HIs eyes flashed amber for a moment, looking just like the wolf’s eyes. “The lady, didn’t catch her name, knew that something was going on at Magus Core….. I uh… followed her after over hearing her muttering about a ‘ammature’ exorcist….couldn't stop my mind from running to you… so i followed… then i lead the way after i found your scent…” Oliver rubbed the back of his neck.

“She wants to meet us at The Witch’s Brew sometimes next week to talk… Karla that’s her name!” Oliver pulled the card out of his pocket and squinted to see the name on the card, showing it to Ryan.
----------------
HannaBelle was surprised to find she was pretty relaxed around Karla, seeing as she had bascil just met the women…. It felt right… that’s about as far as HannaBelle would go for now. Sehh sipped at her wine, sure she was 19 but she was also a witch, and it took a lot to get them drunk… so most places where ok now with serving alcohol to magical beings that were ‘underage’ in human terms… heck HannaBelle knew she’d outlive her parents by a long stretch as witches, warlocks and other magical beings had long lifespans, she tried not to think about it too much as it always saddened her to think about her parents dying…

She tried to not think about dead things a lot….she’d never told anyone this… she’d had a rabbit as a young child… a all black puff ball she called Luci, short for Lucifer, and he had died after a dog got into their backyard. That night she had cried and cried, her magic swirling around her despite her attempts to calm herself down… and for just a moment… she could have sworn she had seen Luci on her bed, hopping over to comfort her……

It had always been a strange memory so she never brought it up at all.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-19-2018 07:57 PM

Karla shook her head at the thought of a bat tattooed on someone's hips, the wheel atleast would seem a little more tasteful.
"I think, the wheel mighta been better than a badass bat on your hip. Sorry to say. Probably best it turned out the way it had."
She sipped on her water listening to Hannabelle's comment about it reacting to different magic, she tilted her head eyeing the blood soaked grimoire that had gone dormant in her bag and smiled. "Ahh, I can assure you it wasn't the book that caused a reaction, by the time I was in class I had sealed its magick with my own. It could actually have been mine that you were reacting to, possibly..."
She paused for a moment trying not to overstep her bounds instead taking a napkin drawing a rune into the paper, immediately it shifted and folded itself into the form of a bird before flying out the window.
"Blood Magic, isn't actually my specialty, I came across an old book when I was only 6 years old, it was full of rune magic, some how I was able to learn what each one had done and after awhile the magick just filled my head, knowledge of it seemed to always be there in a way... I don't think there's another sorceress alive today that can perform the magick I can, which is why I was recruited by my job, been paid good money since I was a child and now I have more of it than I know what to do with."
She turned to the waiter and nodded. "I'll have the chicken alfredo penne please with a caesar salad." She took another sip of water before turning her attention back to Hannabelle after the waiter had left to put in their order. "One day I ended up in a bad spot, came across a strange.. creature that killed my partner at the time and seriously injured me. In desperation I drew a rune from my blood to create a wall of fire to block the creature from reaching me, instead it ended up incinerated leaving nothing but ash behind. I learned that the magic in my blood is quite potent, and using that as the medium for my runes made the magic several times stronger, maybe dozens of times."
Her eyes flashed in excitement as they waited for their meals to arrive. "Want to find out if it were really my magic you were reacting to? I'm sure you're curious if it really was just me after all. Maybe its fate we met." she gave the redhead a flirtatious grin.
---------------
Ryan stared at the man and sighed "No, no you never told me that, though now I'm feeling kinda shitty about that wet dog comment now.."
He closed his eyes in thought trying to remember the woman but everything seemed so hazy, he shook his head and sighed.
"I can't really remember much, but thanks, the nurse is eyeing you again I think ya gotta go. I'll give you a call when I am released alright?"
The man closed his eyes again, he couldn't move much so sleep seemed like the best option, his ego after the previous night was pretty much non existent at this point.
He didn't even want to return to the bar after his blunder but didn't seem like he had much choice in the matter.

HannaBelle laughed a little. “Yeah… I think the magic in the ink and my own magic thought so as well…” HannaBelle was still blushing a bit when the other mentioned it might be Karla’s magic that her tattoo reacted to. “Maybe… but it would have acted up when we first met then… just before you hid your aura… heck the fog should have tipped it off right away…. But you really never know for sure with most magic like the thing on my hip.” The red head absently rubbed her hip as they paused for silence.

A smile filling HannaBelle’s face at the paper bird. “I could only even managed to make paper frogs… or cats… everything else tending to crumple or burn… it’s nice to see that the art of paper folding is still strong.” It was a half joke but the smile was all real.

“Hmmmm sorceress level magic is pretty up there… so not a lot go for it now...not when money can buy a item or potion that artificially boosts your magic for a while...If people knew what went into a magic boost potion… they’d avoid it.. As they have to drink the thing….” HannaBelle said just before their food arrived. The smell of the chicken and pasta was just as she remembered it and it helped to relax the red headed witch.

“Blood like that…. Can be dangerous...do people ever come after you to try and get your blood?” HannaBelle found herself asking, again with that tone and look of pure curiosity. A bright blush overcoming her pale face when Karla flirted with her, no one outside her family had been this nice ot her in years… and even then it had been a human friend that she’d known since diapers… sadly that human girl was no longer among the living.

“Fate is fickle and tends to not favor many….my mentor told me that once… after she fell down and broke her hip… she found it funny… nearly scared me to death.” HannaBelle pushed some of her framing bangs to the side as the pair of girls continued to eat their food. “What did you have in mind?” HannaBelle found herself asking after a sip of her wine.
-------------
“Wouldn't be the first time i’ve been called a dog, no worries” Oliver flashed a flirtatious and bright grin again. Not as strong as it had been that night in the pub but still genuine.

Oliver quickly wrote down his number and gently placed it in Ryan’s hand. “Get rest… lots of it...I’ll come by tomorrow to see ya too.” Again the shifter was ginning, his hands warm around Ryan’s before Oliver left.

His mother sniffed around him like a concerned cat, her hair twitching as she held back her ears popping out when she smelt a human hospital on him. “Oliver Dean Ichabod McDool you better tell me where you have been right no.” The older women’s tone held no room for arguments… and Oliver told as much as he could without actually telling his mum about the strange girl… mostly just finding blood close to campus and following it… then finding a hurt human.

“I couldn't well just leave him to die….” Oliver’s mother sighed but she patted her son’s arm.

“Well go wash that sterile stink off you… before your father gets home… you know how he feels about HUMAN hospitals…” The women left Oliver to it and the wolf shifter sighed to himself, he hated lying to his family… but he had a feeling that Karla didn’t want word to spread about her just yet.
--------------
By the time HannaBelle had finished her meal the owners of the Italian restaurant had seen her and had come over to make conversation, asking about her parents and her grandmother, she said both were doing well, and she accepted the small gift of rosemary in a homemade cloth pouch, she looked a bit uncomfortable doing so but hey, people gave things like this to Granny Tamick all the time, and to HannaBelle after they had found out who’s student she was… it was one way to keep your ingredients stocked up on...and she never took anything that seemed to not be offered freely.

The sun had well set, leaving the city in a dark yet bright scheme of light and colors a clubs and the center of the city lit up like a firework or a christmas tree.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-20-2018 06:56 AM

Karla shook her head at Hannabelle's theory about her magic not reacting the night they met. "Mmm, well the night we met I wasn't doing anything special in particular that would cause your magic to react, I was just being a little more cautious that I wouldn't stand out to someone who knew what to look for." She grinned as the red head seemed to turn red at her flirting finding it adorable.
"A proper sorceress can be powerful, most just use it as a name and are pretty much... witches that specialize in brewing, only a few dozen are qualified as an actual sorceress, which would more be manipulating the elements in their magick and releasing it in a destructive form. Karla scratched her head at the question Hannabelle asked, there had been plenty of people who targeted her for her magick, though on the top of her head it was mostly in disgust of the type she presented rather than the potency.
"I've had people come after me sure, maybe not for my magick but because of it, Its not normal even for our kind, so typically I stand out to both sides when it comes to making an example of someone." She paused for a moment wondering how they would be able to confirm her theory. She glanced at the time, it would be getting late soon so empty streets would be easy to find.
"We could go somewhere we won't be interrupted, I need to put a proper seal on the book. That takes a considerable amount of power on my part. Maybe that'd be enough? Then I could have you for dessert since we just had dinner." Karla added the last bit jokingly just to get a reaction out of the witch for amusement, she loved seeing the flush fill her face. She grinned giving her a wink before taking a glance at the bill brought to them.
---------------
Ryan nodded to Oliver the shifter seemed overly concerned over him for someone the wolf had just met. "I'll do my best, thanks again."
As the man left the room Ryan flipped open his notebook making notes, he was irate that he had completely failed on his task, he knew he was more capable than simply seeing and speaking with the dead however he couldn't manage to conjure up a simple exorcism. His head still pounded, mostly from the wound around his eye. His thoughts went towards the woman wanting to speak with him as well, he shook his head not understanding what was going on or why things had to turn out how they did.
He reached for his phone and saw one unread message from Sandra at the bar, he sighed before opening the message and a wave of confusion filled his face.
"Heard the good news! Great job at handling the job at MagusCore, everyone is talking about it! Come by the bar soon! Drinks will be on me!! <3 Sandra.
He stared at the screen dumb founded unsure what was told to her, he would worry about it in the morning, he needed more rest if he ever hoped to face everyone with his injured eye or that woman again.

PurpleBox 06-20-2018 11:35 PM

“Hmm makes sense.” HannaBelle gently sipped at her drink, a glass of water as she’d finished her wine. “Any witch with enough thought or emotion can be a destructive force….” Her tone held notes of knowing this first hand. It was hard for HannaBelle to not think back on all the times her emotions had nearly destroyed the home she had lived in with her parents before they figured out what she was…. A rare human born witch that had flown under the radar. One with potential...at least that what Granny Tamick had always said.

HannaBelle’s face scrunched up in disgust towards the people she imagined would go after Karla just because she was different. “Humans still like to say that the ‘Salem witch trials’ victims all ended up not being witches… just women who where outside the norm…. A few where in fact white witches...focused on healing and nature..To good natured to cast harm on a fly...even know in this modern world where we ‘co exist’ with humans they still fear us.” HannaBelle used air quotes and a soft voice as they finished their meal.

At the dessert comment HannaBelle’s face was red as a tomato and she was fanning herself with her hand trying to not look awkward… she failed badly. “Some ah… some magical items can only be properly sealed by a user of the same magical nature of the item….though I’m guessing that it would be a big no for whatever that book really is….”HannaBelle said with a soft stutter. It was clear no one had ever really flirted with the red head. Most of her fellow witches and warlocks saw her as a teacher's pet… good at a little of everything… well aside from Vincent…
------------------
Oliver fell back on his bed with just a towel around his waist, th young shifter rubbed his eyes as he tried to think of why, just why those ghost witches had been at the building...who was this master they spoke of… chaos would bring an end to the peace that had lasted for centuries… maybe that's what this ‘master’ wanted…. But that would mean his family would be in danger… and that thought had Oliver’s hackles raising.

A soft knock on his door had him sitting up, one of his uncle's opened the door. “Could you pick up my shift tomorrow Oliver? I forgot that Immagine had a doctor’s appointment for the little bun…” HIs uncle was a skinny man… more of a uncle by marriage to his Aunt Immagine...a fierce Lioness in her own right, had married the timid rabbit man before Oliver tonight.

“Sure Uncle Henry. What’s the shift? Packing? Cutting? Freeing and moving storage?” Oliver reclined back on his elbows as his uncle rubbed the back of his head.

“Aah no… it’s a… ‘special’.... Pick up…” was all the timid man stutterd out and Oliver knew he’d get no more out of his uncle… they were not supposed to talk about what the McDool Meat Packing Plant moved and shipped for the black market… or what the meat was….

Oliver nodded as his uncle left and he sighed through his nose. He had a feeling he’d have to text Ryan to say he’d be a little later than planned tomorrow….
----------
The night air was cool on her flushed skin as HannaBelle and Karla left the restaurant. The Pouch of rosemary tucked safely in the redheads bag. “That was good, I haven’t been here in a couple years… i missed the good food.” HannaBelle smiled a small smile as they walked, the red head wasn’t to sure where would be a good place to set about putting a seal on the book… she didn’t want to think about WHAT the book really was… mostly because she didn’t want to get pulled into any dark that would ruin her chances of getting her witches license and potions degree...starting her own potion shop for those who couldn't afford or had bad reactions to the bigger name potions companies.

The fact there were few people on the street seemed to relax the red head. She had a problem with tight places and cramped spaces…. Always had...so taking busses and trains was nerracking and she always had to reel herself in from using a shrink spell on the people around her to just give herself room to breath

TheFabledBiscuit 06-21-2018 07:25 AM

Karla smiled at the red heads acceptance of her magic. Most seemed more quickly to judge her than get to know her. "True, a witch could take out a room, or with enough emotion a house, the difference is I could do it with little to no effort, the last time I lost my temper I accidentally took out an entire cul-de-sac.. and this is before I started using blood magic." Karla bragged slightly admiring the redhead who had grown much more comfortable around her. She couldn't help but laugh at her turning to red at her comment of having the girl for dessert, shaking her head as the witch tried so hard to change the subject.
"Normally yes, but rune magic is very.... versatile, I can seal something away as easily as making that paper bird, as long as I know the correct glyph I can theoretically accomplish anything." She ran her hand against Hannabelle's gently before standing to her feet.
"It'd be better if you don't talk to anyone about this book, however there's no harm if you see me sealing it shut. We'll have an idea if it's really me that you're reacting to or not."
---------------
Ryan flung his notes across the room in anger after he had woken again, the pain meds were wearing off, causing him to be very temperamental. "Why can't I cast even the simplest spells in my notes any longer?!" He slammed his hands into the desk crumpling all his paperwork his hands pressed against his head. He glanced at the number Oliver stuffing it into his pocket. "I don't get it, I was capable of casting my magic before I took the job, WHAT changed..." The man groaned before returning to his bed, the nurses would give him hell for destroying his room, he had no idea what the woman had planned to question him with, or why his job was considered a success. "Maybe Sandra's just fucking with me so I don't feel so bad.. I guess I'll find out more tomorrow..." HE laid back onto his bed closing his eyes, it would still be another day or two before they released him, until then he would need to keep calm and collected until he could return to his research.
---------------
Karla grabbed onto Hannabelle's hand pulling her along through a near by park, weaving through the trees until they could find somewhere private, she circled around with the girl multiple times if only so she could have the witches hand in her own while she 'made sure' that they were indeed alone. She sighed letting the witches hand free and pulled out the book which seemed quite ordinary at the moment.
"This is a cursed relic, I found this on a job I recently had, its a grimoire of a necromancer that was causing problems, or a book of the dead. Any person possessing it other than its rightful owner would find themselves dead within a week because of the black magick held within its pages."
Karla placed the book down on a patch of earth beneath her as she sat in front of it. She motioned Hannabelle to sit in front of her with the book in between as she began drawing symbols in the dirt around the book. Immediately the drawn glyphs glowed a blue color in hue as she started her spell. After confirming that the glyphs alone had no effect on the girls tattoo she brought out her knife making a quick slice in her wrist letting the blood flow into the glyphs. The enchanting blue color changed into a more ominous purple, crackling with energy as Karla closed her eyes, the air grew incredibly thick as she finished muttering an incantation, the blood filled glyphs slowly creeped towards the book soaking into its binding embedding the runes that were once dug into the earth on the book.
Her eyes shared the same purple glow as she opened her eyes to see if Hannabelle had reacted at all to her magic. "Well? This isn't all I am capable of but it should be more than enough to cause some sort of tingle if its my magic you reacted to"

PurpleBox 06-22-2018 01:25 AM

“Wow… that is both scary and impressive.” HannaBelle had a small smile on her face when Karla spoke about the cul-de-sac, it was nice to actually hear about another magic user almost , or actually, losing control at some point...she tried not to think about if any famines had been in the houses in the cul-de-sac. Emotions and magic should not be suppressed is what Granny Tamick had told her once.

“My lips are sealed.” She mimed zipping her lips with a smile.

Once in the park HannaBelle settled herself in a cross legged position as Karla explained the book and a small bit of her job, HannaBelle had enjoyed the feeling of the other girls hand in her own. She had been blushing the whole time.

Her cheeks where dusted pink now as she watched and observed Karla. “This is a bit random but did you know there is a healing spell that is considered black magic just because it’s so rare for a caster to be able to cast it?” She had always found it fascinating that some magics were labeled as bad just because so few could perform it.

Being this close to the book made her rub her hip in memory to the tingling sensation she had felt before. It looked like a ordinary book but under the harmless appearance she could sense something… something that called to a deep part of her that she barely knew. She kept her hands firmly in the pockets of her hoodie however and let Karla work her runes.

“I felt something when the blood glyphs touched the book… nothing strong… like a deep humming within the bones that is comforting… you magic feel like… a zap of electricity, like the air after a thunder and lighting storm…. Energizing…” The red headed witch had a look that spoke volumes. It was strange, the energies of Karla and the book where different...but she had not felt the same tingling on her hip at the girls magic. She pulled up the hem of her shirt to look at the top half of her tattoo and saw that the small flecks of sparkle in the tattoo where dimming, that means that they had been sparking with magic.

“I think it was the book that my tattoo and magic reacted to...like something trying to breach the surface of a still lake… but not able to get there….” HannaBelle rubbed the back of her head, on the inside of her left wrist was a small birthmark, it was shaped like a simple crown… but at the moment it stood out against her pale skin whereas normally it would blend it well. The shape of the crown was familiar to those who knew what to look for.

Thankfully not many knew what to look for nowadays.
--------------
It was well past midnight, the witching hour when HannaBelle walked up to her home, looking over her shoulder she smiled and waved at Karla who had walked her home, the thought brought a blush to the young witches face as she entered the house, it was quite and most of the cats were nowhere to be see.

Creeping up to her room HannaBelle flopped onto her bed, disturbing a grey tabby that had curled up on the purple sheets. “Sorry Ichabod Jr.” The cat huffed and rolled it’s cat eyes before curling up again.

Tomorrow would bring changes to the city that no one would see coming till it was to late. So much Chaos was close to being brought to light.

TheFabledBiscuit 06-22-2018 07:12 AM

Karla nodded as she listened to Hannabelle "A healing spell considered black magic? I can't say I'm surprised... do you know what the spell is of? I can use my own blood magic to heal myself, or others if needed, I suppose that wouldn't be considered white magick by any means either."
She brushed a few strands of white hair out of her face as she finished her seal and shook her head. "That's definitely interesting, but there's no way you could be reacting to the book, the thing is the book doesn't really emit an energy, its more like a leech, it sucks and drains the life force or magick out of any magical beings. So its strange you believe that you're reacting to it when it should be impossible."
Karla stretched thinking hard about what Hannebelle said, she half considered undoing her seal to see if the girl was indeed reacting to something from the book she might have missed herself. She stared at the redhead carefully before stashing the book back in her bag, standing on her own two feet and offering a hand to the witch .
"It is getting late, here, I'll walk you home from here.. Thanks for ah, coming out with me tonight. I had a good time. Its nice to be able to unwind a little."
She watched the redhead enter her home, waving good bye before blowing the witch a kiss and turning back to her own place. She had rented a sad excuse of an apartment in the center of town, she never planned on staying here in the long term so opted for something cheaper but was starting to regret that decision. She threw the book out on the desk eyeing it carefully before flipping a light off and burying herself under her sheets.
"Even after getting to know her I can't help but be more drawn towards that girl." Karla shut her eyes deciding that a good nights rest is something she really needed after this week.

PurpleBox 06-22-2018 10:31 PM

“Saw it in a book once… I wasn’t allowed to get more than a glimpse as Granny Tamick noticed that I had the book the spell was in…. She snapped it away before finishing her purchases and we left….” HannaBelle didn’t think she had to mention that the book had been in the black market… the one time she had gone with the older witch.

HannaBelle shrugged. “ People don’t talk about the different way magics feel, like they have the good warm feelings for healing magic… and that tingle up your spine when a jinx or minor hex is used…. Or how a simple smile spell can actually make you feel happier...then again i think most people don’t want to understand how complicated Magic can be… more so if they are human… but I can’t rage to hard on them… my parents are human...and they try their best.” the red head had a smile on her face when she mentioned her parents.
-----------------------
Many meow’s echoed around the old kitchen as HannaBelle moved carrying a few bowls of soft food, feeling the many cats of Granny Tamick was a regular thing now, the older witch was seated at the small kitchen table and sipping at her black tea as her student worked. It was the weekend now and after the ‘incident’ at the Uni yesterday the school though it best to just give their students the weekend off. HannaBelle did plan to pick up her bike today, students who made money with their work would still go to the campus to work.

“HannaBelle, who is Karla?” The question spoken in soft tones made HannaBelle freeze for a moment. Looking at her teacher the older women held the black card with Karla’s name on it between spindle thin fingers. A old black cat with a white spot on his chest was on the table beside the wolf women, looking smug. Salem…. Of course.

Standing up and dusting off her jeans HannaBelle cleared her throat. “ I met her on my way home from the Potion House… she was lost…. Saw her again at the Uni… she wanted to take me out to dinner...that’s where i was last night ….” She knew it wasn’t wise telling to her teacher… but she had promised to omit the book form any telling of last night if she was questioned. Pale blue eyes bore into HannaBelle’s hazel ones before Granny Tamick spoke.

“I see… I would like to meet this Karla…. You have never gone out with someone before… not after Tabitha….and you’ve turned down many offers of companionship…. I want to meet the women who managed to get you out of your shell, if only a bit Little Raven.” The old witch said stroking the head of the black cat who meowed happily his tail swishing.

Nodding jerkily HannaBelle hazel eyes on the cat. “Ok… Salem what have I told you about going through my pantie drawer?” The stroking stopped and blue eyes narrowed onto the cat who blinked in surprise… before becoming passive and hopping off the table.

“I do not know what that boy’s obsession with… delicate are… you should ward your drawers if he is getting into them again Little Raven.” the soft voice of Granny Tamick said and the red headed witch nodded, going about getting her coffee before she popped some toast into a toaster. She still cooked in a human manner, something that Granny Tamick seemed pleased with, that HannaBelle was willing to not take a easy path to get something done was one reason she adored the younger witch.

HannaBelle had not heard her past girlfriends name is years… she didn’t even try to think about the name… it brought up pain...she absently rubbed her hip remembering that drunken night... shaking her head as she sipped at her coffee she planned.

Since Granny Tamick wanted to meet Karla…. HannaBelle would have to call the women and see if she was free any time soon…
-------------------
Oliver was not looking forward to this pick up… he hated these things… what the meat was… at least these shipments… he knew that other creatures needed to eat special… meat… to live… btu still… he’d always thought that at least by now in the modern times that someone would have found substitutes or made a pill that would negate the need for the special meat.

He was in the McDool meat packing plant uniform as he sat in the passenger seat of the truck his dad was driving. The old man really seemed to want to get Oliver more into the ‘family’ business and away from the path that Oliver wanted to strike for himself, away from meat packing and distributing.

The oldest McDool son, a big grizzly shifter, was currently spending a year traveling to sample meats of the world… something that Oliver’s father had paid for with pride in his oldest wanted to takeover the family business one day. The next oldest was a horse that took care of the finances of the business now, and then there was Oliver… the only one who had and was attending a higher learning that would not go hand in hand with his family business…

Magical Creature studies did involve a few months of learning what others eat...but it wasn’t all about that. He was paying for most of the schooling himself with the money from his shifts at the plant.

“We’re almost there my boy. Keep a flat face, if they give you lip just growl… or flash your eyes that tends to freak them out.” HIs father said his own eyes flashing blue, they pulled up to a average looking warehouse that smelt like death… and it turned Oliver’s stomach.
---------------------
The pick up had gone well enough, the packaged of meat had been loaded into the McDool truck with ease, papers signed and hands were shaken. Now back at the plant Oliver was off loading the meat for the others to process and pack for shipping.

Once he was done and his shift over he hurried to get himself in the shower and clean himself, he quickly texted Ryan letting him now he would be coming by the hospital to see how the human was doing, he’d even bring some of the cookies his mom had made that afternoon.

His hair was still wet as he hugged his mom and took the paper bag she handed up to him, his car moved smoothly on the roads towards the human hospital. He grinned at the nurses who blushed a bit, more friendly then the ones last night, he found his way to Ryan’s room and he knocked on the door.
--------------
After getting dressed HannaBelle called Karla from her cellphone. “My teacher wants to meet you…. One of her cats found your card, thought he’d get me in trouble the smug bug…. Any time you're free if fine… Granny Tamick doesn't leave the house much any more.” HannaBelle’s voice was uncertain… like she wasn’t sure that Karla would want to hang out again… as she spoke her hazel eyes landed on a old picture above her desk against the wall, a human with brown hair and blue eyes, was laughing as the picture had been taken, and wrapped in the human's arms was a younger HannaBelle, with a short bob of red hair and wearing a cat ear headband with a embarrassed flush on her freckled face.

Heart clenching before she told herself to breath as she waited for Karla to speak.

Ryan walked out his room bumping into the shifter as he opened the door. "You got here pretty quick... I'm being discharged from the hospital other than losing my sight in the eye there's no reason for me to stay here any longer, that woman Karla sent me message she wants to meet us at the pub tonight if you're able." He rubbed the bandages over his eye, it itched, though more than that his loss of vision in his right eye had been a nuisance for the past day, he tripped more than once over his own two feet on the way out of the hospital with the werewolf.
He glanced at the shifter who seemed all too protective of the man as he occasionally stumbled he mostly shrugged if off but curiosity was getting to the better of him.
"So.. is there any reason you're so... I don't know interested in me? Already mentioned I wasn't interested in sex, hell I don't ever really care about dating or relationships of that sort in general."
He walked silently beside the shifter wondering what his answer would be.

Karla answered the phone excitedly seeing Hannebelles name, pausing for a moment shaking her head at how she acted. "Hannabelle! Miss me already?" She paused for a moment as the redhead spoke, glancing at her calendar making sure she had no important upcoming meetings.
"Already smitten by me right? Introducing me to your teacher seems like a huge step!" She laughed at her own joke for a moment shaking her head knowing that Hannabelle wouldn't see her body language.
"Well.. she's either worried about the sorceress who is stealing her student away or she possibly recognizes the card I handed to you, either way it'd be rude for me not to introduce myself. I can come by early in the evening if you'd like. I just gotta handle some stuff at the local pub before I head over, shouldn't be long though!"
Karla made a note to head to her witch's house before calling the 'exorcist' again confirming that he was indeed heading to the pub.
"Excellent, I'll be there in 20 minutes, feel free to grab a few drinks or food while you wait."

“My family's home isn’t far from here… odd seeing as our kind have our own healers.” Oliver shrugged he held up the brown paper bag as the pair left the hospital. The shifter caught Ryan once, not bringing up the slip, just righted the human before they continued.

The dark haired shifter sighed, rubbing the back of his head, looking almost embarrassed. “Not sure myself...at first it was your scent… human but… different… might be your sixth sense...seeing as you could SMELL the ‘dog’ on me” Oliver used air quotes. “I find you interesting...never met a human that didn’t care about sex… in some capacity at least… There are a few species out there that only use sex as a for as reproduction and it’s not pleasant for either party…...but yeah… I find you interesting and my mom baked cookies i think you should try….” Oliver said pushing the paper bag into the human’s hands.

He ran a hand through his hair to try and pull himself back...the things he was feeling was just form never knowing a human that was like Ryan… nothing more….Oliver had to keep telling himself that… the last shifter in his family, going WAY back on the tree, that fell for a human and had them as a mate had been killed… by a human mob or his own kin…. Those had been very violent days… at least by the stories Oliver had been told by his older brothers…

Oliver nodded to the time for the pub. “Yeah I’m free, finished work early today and have the next few days off….” Oliver didn’t want to say how he thought the human shouldn't’ be left unprotected…
---------------------------
Her face was a tomato...not even two sentences form Karla and HannaBelle’s face nearly hatched her hair. “I just met you two nights ago! " the red head protested, the blush clear in her voice. “Maybe she recognized it… but she had to ask me who you were so… she’d really old…pushing 250… that’s ancient by witches standards… most don't’ make it past 210 even with modern human and magical practices….” HannaBelle was rambling… while she is sin a wheelchair Granny Tamick didn’t look older than a 80 year old human women, she had ‘aged well’ for a witch.

HannaBelle had seen pictures of a younger Granny Tamick and had been shocked to see the women had similar facial features to her...a regal standing in the magical government too when she had been in her prime… and a daughter.. ‘We didn’t see eye to eye on a decision she made… I have made my peace Little Raven.’ the old women had told a young HannaBelle when she had asked about the women’s daughter.

“That sounds find, need to do a food run any how… you’d be surprised how quickly 10 cats go through food and litter...that reminds me i need to pick up bleach….” the red head trailed off as she summoned her shopping list and added BLEACH to the list in her scratchy lettering. “So ah… later today in the early evening? Right… Hope you like cats.” The red head hung up before she could ramble again, her face was still flushed and she sighed… maybe Granny Tamick was right...maybe she was… smitten..

A soft mewl had her looking down to see a tortoise shell looking up at her expectantly. Bending down to stroke the young cat’s fur had the witch smiling as she grabbed a jacket and her wallet before calling out that she was doing the food run.

Granny Tamick’s pale blue eyes watched from ehr chair in the living room, in her wrinkly hands was grasped a picture of her and her daughter the last time they had seen each other… the elegant women with fire red hair and bright green eyes in the picture looked like a older version of HannaBelle with green eyes… the older women was surprised her student had not seen it yet… but then again the girl had grown up with loving parents...a war, supportive family around her despite her different from them… that was better then what the old women had thought…. No… it would do no good to dwell on the past… her Little Raven was alive and well, breathing and thriving with her magical powers… as best one could when their true magic lay somewhere, less pleasant.

Setting the frame aside the old women used her magic to float herself and her chair to her room, if they where to have a guest she better make herself presentable… if this girl, Karla, worked for who Tamick thought she did… then the girl probibly knew of Scorsserus Tamick and how the cold women had inherited the spot from her mother after marrying a powerful warlock.

It felt odd, to Oliver to be sitting in a booth and not at one of the tables in the middle of the pub, though at the moment Oliver preferred Ryan to be a bit more comfortable then himself…

“I can’t believe I’m saying things but I think we need to steer clear of booze till Karla get here… clear heads and all that.” It was clear the shifter was used to getting at least buzzed when he was here with his friends.

Soon enough a familiar, at least to Oliver, figure walked into the pub.
------------
HannaBelle was humming to herself as she pursued the fruits in the local market, a human market, not one of those fancy ‘legal’ magical ones. This was less chaotic to the young witch. She grabbed a few apples and pears, adding them to her cart full of cat food, both wet and dry, as well as five heavy bags of cat little, the coupon for those tucked in her pocket with her list.

Once everything was paid for she carried the bags, using a bit of magic once outside the market to levitate the cat little bags, the owners of the market appreciated that HannaBelle didn’t use her magic inside their store, unless it was a emergency.

Glancing up when she saw a crowd of girls all trying to look at someone who was getting into a fancy car across the street that the witch rolling her eyes. She would never understand the appeal girls had towards boys….

She didn’t notice the blue eyes catching sight of her, of her carrying paper bags on each hip and levitating heavy sack of cat little like it was nothing. HUmming to herself once again HannaBelle didn’t see the spark of interest in those green eyes before the male who was attached to those green eyes got into his limo and was driven off, a crowd of sad girls left behind, all but the girl with hair the color of fire.
--------------------
Time flew by and soon HannaBelle was nervously looking between the clock and the pot of noodles she was stirring, since she had not gotten a exact time of Karla’s arrival the young witch was antsy.

She’s roasted leftover chicken in the oven, and was making fresh pasta, Granny Tamick was resting in her room, at least that is what one of the cat’s had meowed to HannaBelle when she asked them.

Ryan nodded acknowledging what the shapeshifter had to say, he was unsure how to respond himself, his mind filled with so many other things at the moment. "So I'm interesting, so you brought me cookies?" Ryan teased the shapeshifter, taking one of them out biting into it happily. Anything had beat the food they forced down his throat at the hospital, he hadn't cared the shape shifter seemed to be drawn to him in a more intimate way, hell he had dated a guy here and there temporarily in the past, though nothing seemed too serious to the ghost hunter.
"Awesome, somehow I don't think today is going to just pass on by like any other day. Hopefully I'm wrong, though I know that won't be the case.."
---------------
"Two WONDERFUL nights they were though, am I right?" Karla grinned it was too fun teasing the redhead when she was so obviously flustered with her comments, she laughed as she listened to the redhead speak and nodded as if she would witness the action. "If that's the case, and she does realize what I do then it will probably a more interesting night than you bargained for, I'm fine with meeting her. I love cats, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll be by later!" Karla ended the call glancing at the time before heading out towards the Witches Brew, the pub would start to get busy around now, though the more people around would be better at the moment. She couldn't shake the feeling of unwavering eyes following her ever since they left Maguscorps.
the sorceress shut the door behind her casting an inconspicuous spell on herself which would leave her harder to track or find if someone were indeed spying on her.
She arrived at the bar finding Ryan and Oliver inside, she ordered a round of water for the group as well as a light appetizer before turning to them both.
"Before we start, you haven't been followed have you? any strange visitors while you were kept in the hospital... Ryan I think it was?
The man shook his head trying not to scratch at the bandages that filled his face, the usual bartender eyed him and his table guests and shrugged if off giving him a look of wanting answers when he was alone.
"No.. I don't think so, to be honest everything since that night has been kind of hazy, I don't think the medication has fully worn off on me yet."
Karla nodded turning to Oliver who seemed to figure out her motives she sighed shaking her head.
"What about you shifter? Has there been any strange scents in his room? I figure you would have caught something while you visiting him."
