Happy Treason Day Peasants!
-couldn't help self-
Well, it is the 4th of July....and many people know what that means.... 'MURICA! It's Independence Day for 'Murica! -insert screech here that is used for eagles, but is actually a hawk- So those in Murica, what are you doing for the fourth? For those not in 'Murica, what's your country's Independence Day like (if there is one) or founding day? |
Happy Loud Booms Day. :V
|
*cringes at every single use of "'Murica", including typing it just now*
I will be spending my day doing laundry, ironing fabric for some projects I want to make, and comforting my poor cats who are not a fan of the loud booms. |
Think I’m going to see how many political debates I can get myself into.
EDIT: Not on Tris, of course. EDIT EDIT: Unless someone actually wants me to talk about stuff. But that’s a bad idea. |
Nah I refuse to talk about politics for the most part. :V
I have to do errands tomorrow. D: |
"I'm gonna take a nap! And eat cookies! And watch fireworks!"
|
Sounds good, Derpy. 8D
|
I’m going to be moving m ydaughters room into my room and my room into the living room. Her room is always 5* hotter than outside and with 100* weather starting tonight she can’t stay in her room .-.
|
@Glitch I read your post and my first thought was kill me. (Dat hot. Hot bad)
@Derpy Can I haz cookie? XD @Espy I do not wish to debate, but I do not like the orange one. That is all. @Kaderin That was hte point of me using 'Murica! Though I do like saying it sometimes XD @KittyBeary I remember a few years ago me and my brother were shooting off fireworks on the 4th and someone called the cops on us. It was literally 9pm if even that and I think it was Friday that year. It ruined the holiday for me.....especially considering the past few days people have been shooting off load stuff way past 9 and it is a weekday....and some aren't cleaning up their trash from it. -bitter- |
Why it that hot in Potato land!! Its that hot in NC!!
Ive got work later today. |
Perhaps you did not know. Southern Idaho is a desert ouo
|

Man, I kinda wanna eat a potato now.
And earlier it was 102 here without heat index. |
Well, today where I live people are shooting them off NOW and it's 6pm. D< Still daylight.... heck they were shooting them off earlier than this.
Have I ever expressed how much I hate most people?? :'D |

100 degrees? That's cute.
|
You can keep all your hot. I dislike!
Happy 'Murica day and such, though I only say that because it seems to be an all out thing over there. Canada day was three days ago, and there were fireworks in that I saw them on the news and remembered they were going on. Nothing in the neighbourhood though. I was visiting my mom in the city. Back home the area has a tiny parade with horses and farm things and people dress up and such, one of those county things. I honestly don't know what "Canada Day" actually celebrates, apart from the age of the country (151 this year). I think we weren't an independent country until post WWI, which was more than 151 years ago, so maybe it's when there stopped being an "upper" and "lower" Canada. Give me a moment to look this up... |
Okay, this: "it celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, the effective date of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act, 1867), which united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada."
So not technically a "birthday" but one of those good-enough things. Apparently we weren't technically a fully independent county until 1982. By then, it was probably one of those things that people just never get around to doing because it's more a formality than anything. |
Just another 3-5 days of people lighting off spare fireworks and we're done! *dies*
I mean, hopefully not, but based on past years, that's what I expect. |
Yeah, they finally stopped at 12am last night or so, will probably hear leftovers tonight. x_x
|
i wish it hadn't been so hot out yesterday. i don't know how anyone went out to celebrate in this heat.
|
people started celebrating here a couple days early, even though they weren't legally allowed to until 11 AM on the 4th, but it started raining around 11PM yesterday, so nobody was out shooing them off after that. I haven't heard any go off today, thankfully.
|
in Illinois it's pretty much illegal to buy any fireworks, so we just drive to Indiana to get them. americans will blow stuff up whether it's legal or not!
|
...It annoys me how inconsiderate people can be of pets and vets.
|
Edited because now that I've said that, I've realized I probably shouldn't.
Please don't be idiots on holidays, that is all. |
Okay, what did we do on Independence Day? Um, I think we cooked hamburgers indoors and watched fireworks on TV. Well, that's where the air conditioning is! Also, keeping seven Chiweenies and an elderly Jack Russell calm during the distant fireworks show.
|
I understand people being mad cause pets and vets, but also, in the case of vets, it is not a surprise occurance, they can go to neighbors and be like, look I have a problem...be considerate?
Idk what they could do really because the entire holiday is really about food and fireworks now. (Though most fireworks people get around here, aren't like REALLY loud and stuff usually. M80s mainly and below, but that means nothing) Of course, three blocks down the street from my house, fireworks are illegal so that's fun |
I mean, sure, they could try that, but I feel like the majority of neighbors are just gonna be like "'Murica! Freedom! I do what I want!" and light fireworks anyway, regardless. I remember a few years back when they made yard signs that you could put up, indicating it was a veteran's house and no one cared.
|
Well, many probably thought...what am I supposed to do about it? Other than not light one off right under their window or something.
Of course, I live in a small town so....they'd be screwed anyway because MURICA! (Around here all Muslims are terrorists pretty much...and I always come back with well, all white Christians must be Klan members then...) But most people get rinky dink fireworks (which are fine, but neither are they loud or flashy, so that might be okay for vets...maybe not dogs) |
