BISEXAL Pride

Kitalpha Hart 10-21-2019 04:29 PM

Aroace represent!

Espy 10-21-2019 08:12 PM

There’s a lot of us queer folx on Tris.

Aro/ace here as well.

Unicornlynn 10-21-2019 08:24 PM

That pretty cool! I didn’t really think anyone would answer glad to know I have some pride friends!

littl3chocobo 10-22-2019 03:42 AM

ace representation here ^^ also i come from a trans family~ two generations, haha

Espy 10-22-2019 03:45 AM

Older trans folx make me happy bc they’re proof non-binary and trans people can survive that long and have fulfilling lives.

Stabbsworth 10-22-2019 12:17 PM

transmasc / nb and panromantic ace here.

hehe.

Tohopekaliga 10-22-2019 02:11 PM

Now, I’ve never taken a poll (and likely never will), but my feeling from just being around is that the percentage of people who identify with one or more aspect of LGBT/etc on Trisphee is very high. Like 80% high.

Stabbsworth 10-22-2019 02:37 PM

i'm pretty sure coda himself is NB. or, at least, on the spectrum of NB. all sorts of kinds of nonbinary here.

Coda 10-22-2019 03:51 PM

More or less, yeah. I don't really bother putting a label on it.

I find the way Toho describes himself to be amusing but I'll let him be the one to choose what he wants to share.

Espy 10-22-2019 08:23 PM

Tris has THE highest percentage of queer folx that I’ve seen on any site, to my knowledge.

Merskelly Metalien 10-22-2019 09:02 PM

:D Hey there. *waves* Gray-romantic Ace here. *high fives Espy*
(It's also Asexual Awareness Week guys! ^-^ Thought it'd be nice to share. Ends on the 26th.)

Death by Mirrors 10-24-2019 07:17 AM

I was... not aware of that.
(To my defense I'm sick, so all I remember right now is Pi Day)

Merskelly Metalien 10-24-2019 12:16 PM

Well, now you're aware! :] *clap*
It's usually during the last week of October. *high fives all the fellow aces*
>.> Though I've only really came out to my brother only the previous year, or the year before..I dunno about this year..so I typically just celebrate in safe spaces online with other space aces and anyone else who's aware from other sexual orientations. :\

littl3chocobo 10-24-2019 02:38 PM

i wonder if it seems that way because more nonconforming persons join or if it is because it's not heavily stigmatized to come out on here and so a lot of people who'd never talk about it are able to to. my job has me meeting a LOT of 'straight' and/or 'cis' people who are most certainly neither of those things and are more than ok talking about it to me once they figure out i am an ally and respectful of their personal agency(and yes, expressing yourself is a type of agency). assuredly on most of the sites i am on i am just some bloke who may (or in some situations may not) have a husband. the fact that i am ace and gender-queer and a semi-active part of the trans community(to the point where kids keep finding me for advice, haha) is almost never brought up and even then it's brushed off quickly

there is something to be said about a population of people who were raised to be quiet being quiet when they feel it is important to do so

Coda 10-24-2019 03:34 PM

I think it's a combination of both. We get more registrations because nonconforming people invite their nonconforming friends, and they do that because it's a great open place for everyone with minimal hostility.

Den 10-24-2019 06:47 PM

*waves* Nonbinary AFAB, Ace, demipanromantic here. I think a lot of it is as Coda said. It helps that we pretty much self-regulate in a positive way (I can't remember the last time we had anyone who was openly being a bigot), and the overall atmosphere here is chill and welcoming. NGL, it also helps that we can change the "gender" of our avatars with a click of a button, so that makes it easier for people to express themselves, and the clothes look the same for male or female bases.

Espy 10-25-2019 05:30 AM

There was... one dude many years ago who had... thoughts... about “sin”. It was at least mildly uncomfortable for most people involved.

Also, I do not understand why some sites have locked-in genders, or require you to pay quite a bit to change your avatar’s gender. I know it’s not specifically a thing against queer folx, but sometimes shit like that just feels like... a Trans Tax? I don’t last particularly long on sites w locked genders.

Which description? Oh!

“Maybe because I'm gay as fuck? I mean, as gay as you can be and still like the ladies enough to marry one.”

Stabbsworth 10-25-2019 02:45 PM

that's bisexuality, babey! (or pansexuality. whichever one.)

(bisexuality does include nb genders. the difference between the two is that gender is a factor in bisexuality, while pansexuality doesn't have gender as a factor. something like that??)

that's sort of my main problem with gaia. i haven't figured out how to change from being an animal on there yet.

Kitalpha Hart 10-25-2019 04:17 PM

Gaia's also really frickin old and tends to be slow about changes
And fixes
And updates

Let's see, of the sites I'm on...
Windlyn the base is neutral, the clothes you choose determine the "gender", using the word loosely, of the avi
KofK I haven't tried to change so I don't know. Male and female bases do have some differences in items, but I'd say about 90% of items tend to be the same. The site's avis are also bust shots the chest on the females aren't very large
Flight Rising is dragons. Easily changed, so long that specific derg is in your lair
Marapets is a pain to do anything. You need to pay a fee to change your outfit's colors. Don't have that color unlocked? Buy eggs and hope you get it. The base? Yeah I haven't even tried that
Voltra has the option in the avi creator, so you can change it with every outfit
Pantheon you can choose in the same place as Voltra
And here, well, y'all know the answer already

As for sites I've left, well, it's been so long I don't actually remember if it's possible lol

Merskelly Metalien 10-25-2019 06:56 PM

I like this site, because I like that I can be a skeleton. -u- And a male or female skeleton too! ^-^

Stabbsworth 10-25-2019 07:21 PM

i can't really get into any other sites. like, legit, there's usually some sort of caveat that makes me just. not into it, i guess??

Death by Mirrors 10-27-2019 04:40 PM

To be fair that pinecone is very attractive.

Merskelly Metalien 10-27-2019 04:48 PM

x'D hahahahaha, well pinecones can be pretty aesthetically pleasing! :] they're kinda consistent yet asymmetrical, and hard, and smooth and spiky, /x} and can be tossed around. x'D

Coda 10-27-2019 05:08 PM

To be fair... I'm not ace, and none of those pictures do anything for me either.

Merskelly Metalien 10-27-2019 05:17 PM

:D Everybody has a personal taste of course. I like looking at black hair the same as dirty blonde hair, but also dyed hair, but favorite colored dyed hair, not all dyed hair. :/ Yet, that's not sexy. I like just seeing the hair, if that makes sense? x}
I just typed in "pics of attractive people" and that's some of what came up. o-o?
I still don't really get it, meheheh! <x}

Coda 10-27-2019 05:33 PM

The first guy is attractive, sure. The second guy is kinda cute. But the idea of sex just isn't what comes to mind when I look at any of them. I actually find it difficult to imagine being the kind of person who does look at a picture of a good-looking individual and jump straight to thinking about sex.

Maybe that means I'm technically demisexual? I don't really think of myself that way. If I were to trust my own perception of other people (and I'm not saying that I should, that's a big "if") then it would seem like people who automatically think about sexual desire are the real minority.

Gallagher 10-27-2019 10:20 PM

my experience of being demi is that it's less immediate feeling and more early feeling, as in, a year being close is going fast.

but i also just generally don't feel physical attraction, even when thinking about sex. that's not limited to sex for me, it's also any real estimations of attractive vs cute vs beautiful in any way other than strictly the artistic composition of a photo. so, merskelly's experience definitely rings a couple bells.

Death by Mirrors 10-28-2019 03:29 AM

Growing up among (what you may call by local statistic majority) "normal" people, I always found it really odd when other teens debated about what color hair turned them on. Same with female bra size, male hair length or similar features. If a picture makes me think about sex, it's certainly not for the physical attributes of the person pictured.

Stabbsworth 10-28-2019 11:39 AM

gestures. i just don't feel sexual attraction.

hell, i think i'm heavily repulsed by that stuff.

Merskelly Metalien 10-28-2019 12:26 PM

I can't look at someone and say, "daymn!"
I look at them like, "oh..cool shoes." <x}

Coda 10-28-2019 05:43 PM

I'm certainly repulsed by the stereotypical symbols of female attractiveness. I think stiletto heels are tacky; I think lipstick is gross; I think eye makeup is distracting. I won't judge anyone based on these opinions -- if you're someone who wants to wear heels and eyeliner and lipstick then I'm not going to treat you any differently than if you were barefaced and in sneakers. But it seriously doesn't do anything for me and is actually more likely to make me find the person LESS beautiful aesthetically.

littl3chocobo 10-28-2019 06:19 PM

i dunno, i am ace and the cutie with the hoop earrings defos does it for me. being ace isn't just turning it off or being put out or finding aesthetics to be unattractive. there are gradients of being ace too, i mean i find face three to be worthy of a swoon and if they consented to nsfw stuff i'd not be against watching but the actual thought of actual sex is about the same for me as with that pinecone it just isn't there and while i know there are people who would and have it is just not for me x''D

Espy 10-28-2019 06:22 PM

There was this one time I asked my FB friends in general, why anyone would look at someone and go “I want to fuck them”. Like... why does that even happen? For what reason do you want to put parts together? And most of my friends saif it was just how they feel?

-shrug- I get that it probably feels good or something. I just don’t see why if you have any inclination towards it, you’d rather do stuff with another person rather than just by yourself.

Anyways, libido is weird and I don’t have any of that.

littl3chocobo 10-28-2019 06:43 PM

it's just easier to treat genitals like pineapples or sardines on pizza. some like both, some like one and some like neither and some think pizza can take a hike x''D

also i wonder if this is relevant(it has musical interludes);
