Alexander smiled as he swam in the ocean, he was able to change his fin into legs whenever he wanted but he usually kept it as a fin when he was in the water in his private swimming hole, no one else knew about it except for maybe one or two people but he had scared them off long ago

Chloe wasn't easily frightened, but she was indeed easily hungry. She walked along some paths towards the swimming hole, not even knowing it was there- she'd heard a wives tale that apples grew abundantly in the area and wanted to see if it was true. When she saw the swimming hole, her head turned onto her shoulder. "Hm...Don't see why they said I'd find apples here. Though those berries a few feet away seemed like they'd make good ingredients for pastries..."

Alex not paying attention to see if anyone was around pulled himself out onto the shore a smile on his face as the sun warmed up his tail he was in full view of Chloe if she turned to look out at the shore

While she did look towards the shore, she wasn't particularly phased- except by the surprise that someone else was there. "Oh! I-I'm sorry. I didn't know anyone else was here..." A slight pink hue stole her face as she looked around still- it was a nice place, so perhaps she shouldn't have been surprised?

Alex turned seeing Chloe he quickly dove into the water only to walk back out of the water "didn't you see the sign?" he asked rather irritated he didn't want to scare off another person unless he had to, and he wasn't in the mood right now

"I didn't really notice any signs. My eyes were closed most of the way here... I was told I could find some really good apples for cooking in this area!" She laughed nervously, a small hand rubbing the back of her neck, partially covered by blond hair. "Sorry about that. I'll leave you be- I really didn't mean to be a bother. There were some good berries down the road I came on, so I guess I'll just take a couple of those instead of apples for today's forage. I'm a bakery, but I love making fruit pastries the most. Oh! Is there anything I can make for you as an apology?"

"no, it's all right, and the apples you passed, here, i'll show you" he said climbing up and walking down the road before stopping "you have to dive for them because they're in a cave but they are good" he said before diving into the tide pool, it was deeper than it looked he surfaced "you going to come or shall i get them for you?

"I can come. Thank you for showing me." She smiled, pushing her foraging basket away for the moment so that it sat nearby. Her shoes left her feet as she got ready to take hold of her breath. "Thank you very much, sir." She got into the water, despite being a tad bit uneasy from poor swimming ability, then dove in to seek the cave mentioned to her.

Alex frowned and followed her, wanting to make sure she was ok he smiled as the water surrounded him once again, he followed her down to the cave and swam to the surface of the water and crawled up onto the land a smile on his face as he climbed up the apple tree and started to pick some ripe apples for her

Chloe took a little longer getting there then Alex had, but it hadn't been too long before she was on the surface as well, a sigh of relief escaping her. "Haven't swam in a while..." Getting up, she saw him on the tree, causing her head to lean on her shoulder. "What are you doing? I can do it myself, you really don't have to worry."

"i'm impatient, besides a lot of these branches are really weak and only skilled hands could get to the apples on those branches" he said as he hung from his legs picking some apples from a branch lower

"I'm impatient too." She shrugged it off, just laughing a bit as she watched. "Your a natural with trees aren't you? I envy how talented you are. Besides cooking I can't really do much of anything all that well."

Alex chuckled "I'm a skilled Swimmer and great at climbing trees, and i beleive that's it that i'm good at, oh right and biology" he replied before jumping down the apples in his arms "here try one" he said handing one to her

Chloe let out a slight laugh as well, taking the apple he handed to her and inspecting it carefully before taking a slight, quick bite. "Yay! The rumors are true!" She smiled with delight, hugging the apple afterward. "These apples...They really are perfect ingredients, I'm sure of it!"

Alex chuckled "you ready to go to the surface? or shall i go and drop these off and come back down to show you what else is here?" he asked her

"It'd be better probably to just go back. I can come back and explore another time- I have to go home soon anyway to do some cooking. I'm the only one at work today." She nodded politely, smiling a small smile to him. "Thank you again for helping me."

Alex nodded "of course, come back if you need more apples" he said before smirking "race you" he said before diving back into the water the apples in his arms as he swam with only his legs

"Wait a minute!" She whined the words almost, caught off-guard. She forced herself into the water, clumsily making her way towards the other end behind him.

Alex smiled as he swam to the surface with the apples her chocolate brown hair floating around his face as he swam

She came up afterward, blond hair sticking to the back of her clothing as she laughed a bit. "I haven't swam in quite a while. I'm really out of shape for it, it seems." Smiling, she got out of the water and drenched her clothes slightly, as they were soaked through. "Well, looks like I'll have to do some laundry today..." Shaking it off, she smiled to him. "Thank you again for helping me."

Alex nodded "of course, and if you stay inthe sun for a while you'll dry off rather quickly" he said after climbing out of the water placing the apples in the basket he shook his head rather like a dog would after getting wet

Seeing him shake his head the way he had made her giggle slightly. "I wish that'd work for me. My hair just ends up making a total disaster if I do." A smile managed her face as she looked at him. "I have to hurry to work, so I can't stay in the sun for as long as I'd like. It's a good point though."

"then get it cut short, it works with a pixie cut" he said before frowning "why are you the only one working?"

"For me that'll be hard- considering sitting still is not my strong point." She laughed before noting the question and the frown, shaking her head. "The boss is away for a few days, and the other employee called in sick today, that's all. It's really no big deal. I love cooking, and then getting to watch people enjoy the food I make. So it's no problem to me."

Alex sighed "can't you just close up shop for a bit?" he asked before an idea popped into his head "why don't i come help, you tell me what to do" he suggested

"Nonsense! I can't close up shop. It's a fun place for me- I like the work!" Chloe laughed a bit, apparently still excited. However, his second question had caught her off guard. "Eh? Why would you wanna do something like that?"

"once i get someone to come here and i talk with them it get's boring, beside's wouldn't you like some extra hands?" he asked

"You don't get visitors much, do you sir?" She just giggled, shaking her head. "To be honest, I like doing the work on my own. It keeps me busy longer- and I really thrive on that. If you'd like though, I can make you a snack."

"well mind if i come with you back to the bakery? i think drying off sounds like a great idea right now"

"You look like you'd thrive in water to me, but that's fine. Company is never bad I suppose." She got back into her more comfortable position to get going. "Let's go then~!" She rushed ahead, excited to get to work.

Alex chuckled following her keeping up rather nicely

She spun around to walk backwards once nearby, laughing. "It's funny. I don't remember the last time someone kept up so easily when I'd start rushing off like that. It's sorta nice."

"It's quite easy for me since i work out by swimming" he said a smirk on his face he streched and smiled as he continued to keep up with her

"It's a different weight though. Water makes you much lighter naturally due to boyancy. Or so my boss tends to tell me." A laugh escaped her once at the bakery, her arm reaching to hold the door for him. "After you."

Alex chuckled "so? it doesn't really matter to me i still get a work out"

"I suppose so. But it does change your speed depending on where you are."

"not really, just means I'm fighting against a thinner substance compared to fighting against water"

"I guess so." She just smiled, heading towards the kitchen to began moving a variety of items to make batter. When done, she began to swiftly stir in a large bowl, adding some seasonings before laying it out. "Is there any sort of pastry you particularly like? I can make extra for you."
