the book return

please insert books spine-first into the slot so as not to damage the pages!

since the corral is empty i am setting up a chat thread here~

Kitalpha Hart 02-15-2020 05:11 AM

-inserts self spine first as instructed-

littl3chocobo 02-15-2020 05:24 AM

OxO wow, you are awfully flexible to make it through the slot like that. you deserve something nice!

Kitalpha Hart 02-15-2020 05:34 AM

I also think I'm stuck folded up like this for a bit
Oh well

littl3chocobo 02-15-2020 05:54 AM

eh, you can advertise yourself as an origami roomate? ideal for small flats!

Kitalpha Hart 02-15-2020 07:00 AM

I mean, I can turn into a face so that may be overkill

Death by Mirrors 02-15-2020 07:22 AM

And you can travel to all kinds of cool destination just by mailing yourself in a small parcel. Much cheaper than a plane ticket.

Merskelly Metalien 02-15-2020 01:43 PM

*doesn't return book, because I am a disastrous thief of literature*
>w> Sorry.
I'm keeping this for at least 9 more days.

Death by Mirrors 02-15-2020 06:01 PM

Book? What book are you talking about?
Shh! I don't have any books...
*hides book under mattress*

mdom 02-15-2020 07:53 PM

been a while since I've read anything rip

Stabbsworth 02-15-2020 08:08 PM

me, the guy that pretty much prefers everything in an online format because i'm a dick like that: what the fuck is a book

Kitalpha Hart 02-15-2020 08:38 PM

Having a physical book is nice when staring at a screen hurts

Den 02-15-2020 08:56 PM

books are nice to hold, and sometimes, there's stuff in books that can't be found online, which is kind of frustrating at times, but kinda not most of the time.

Merskelly Metalien 02-15-2020 09:31 PM

>w> I haven't returned a book without paying a fee since grammar school, hehehe, and even then, I still have borrowed books from 1st and 3rd grade. x3

I can't read books online the same way, but I have read online before. :T But I guess I like turning the pages and lookin' like a flippin' nerd in public. x'D

Kitalpha Hart 02-15-2020 09:42 PM

I think the last time I went to a non-school library I was in elementary school

Biomecha 02-15-2020 10:00 PM

I've been wanting some type of e-ink reader since I imagine it's easier on the eyes. But feel like I don't have enough time to commit to reading anyway.

Merskelly Metalien 02-15-2020 10:04 PM

>u>; I feel like I'm not allowed in libraries anymore. Like I'm a wanted criminal, that was banned from all libraries. <w<;

Actually, though I can visit libraries outside of school, I uh, feel out of place in them tbh... >.>; Dunno what it is. Maybe it's kids, maybe it's the poor underfunded computer stations, maybe it's the layout of it, but I feel more at peace in university libraries. <:]

Kitalpha Hart 02-15-2020 10:05 PM

Hey bio your avi makes me think of Cher

KittyBeary 02-15-2020 10:17 PM

I want to visit my local library and read to kids as Belle .u.

Merskelly Metalien 02-15-2020 10:27 PM

Awh! <x3
That sounds cute!
:[ I question however, whether kids today know who in the heck Belle is.

Biomecha 02-15-2020 10:38 PM

Not sure if that's a good thing since I'm personally not a fan of Cher.

mdom 02-15-2020 10:41 PM

how about you're looking very Bob Mackie

Merskelly Metalien 02-15-2020 10:43 PM

o_o; Isn't Cher like, 190 years old?

KittyBeary 02-15-2020 11:01 PM

I like Cher :c

Also they do. =w= Thankfully LOL

Quiet Man Cometh 02-16-2020 03:14 AM

*Sees people at the book return and silently judges them for returning 18 books at a time when I'm emptying bins.*

Kitalpha Hart 02-16-2020 04:38 AM

Bins? Get on my level :L

Quiet Man Cometh 02-16-2020 05:46 AM

We had bins. That nice little convener belt ferrying those spine-first returned books? Straight into the effing bin. Big bins; bend at the waist. I loathed them.

littl3chocobo 02-16-2020 08:34 AM

as someone who routinely would return no less than ten books at a time every single week i feel NO shame or empathy for the bin sorter XD you must suffer for my pleasure! i'll read all of the full-colour semi-glossed field guides i can get my grubby paws on!

Merskelly Metalien 02-16-2020 07:11 PM

*dilly dallies about to beach music in front of the book return, not returning any books at all*
>3> ~Let's go surfin' now, everybody's learnin' how, come on and safari with meee~

littl3chocobo 02-16-2020 08:43 PM

*slowly pushes an arm through and tries to feel out any book-like objects* mrrrrrrr.....

Kitalpha Hart 02-16-2020 09:37 PM

Hey! Watch where you're shoving that!

Rainbowfox Ari 02-16-2020 10:58 PM

Oooof. I have not been to a library at all in literally 14 years.

littl3chocobo 02-17-2020 12:15 AM

*slowly retracts limb* ....mrrrrrr......

oh golly, nearly half of my whole life since your last visit? you make me feel heckin sad with that admission

Kitalpha Hart 02-17-2020 12:28 AM

Let's see, last time I went to a non-school library, I was in fifth grade
So that would've been the 2005-2006 school year
It's been a while for me too

Mekatra 02-17-2020 02:36 AM

I'm beginning to think I am in the minority because I go to the library pretty much weekly, if not more often. I also have the library's app on my phone so I can borrow e-books too.

Den 02-17-2020 02:39 AM

It's been about a year since I last went to the library...

Mekatra 02-17-2020 02:47 AM

I don't even get to read as much as I used to, I sometimes just go to the library because their internet is about three times faster than mine even on a good day.

Kitalpha Hart 02-17-2020 03:02 AM

The library is about a half hour's drive from here, and is out if the way from where we shop for groceries

Mekatra 02-17-2020 03:15 AM

I feel that, it is a little over half an hour for me too, but luckily it's only another like 10 miles past where I work so not super out of my way.
