Headphones- Whats your preference?
Hello everyone, I have found a love for over ear headphones too much to resist anymore and thus am wondering what kinds of headphones everyone uses to better make a choice in my investment.
I am leaning toward Skull Candy Gi's. but i have heard mixed things Opinions? suggestions? |
I've only got Sony's (?) noise-reduction XD And the base is nice, but its sound quality is horrible.
I want to buy the GI's too, but...I need more opinions as well. |
XDD I'm glad I'm not the only one with this dielema :I
I really am sick of crappy headphones so i saved up enough for them but alas i do not know if they are worthy of my money. though they look the part though XD |
The best balance between money, quality, and comfort I've found so far have been the Sony Studio Headphones. They're $25-$30 at Best Buy.
Oh same here. I love my sound out spider headphones...I cant remember the brand right now for the life of me but paying $132 for them tells you they rock...
My day job is as a professional audio engineer, and I can tell you... headphones have diminishing returns. There's a big difference between $5 headphones and $30 headphones, but the difference between $60 headphones and $100 headphones isn't as big, and the difference between $100 and $200 headphones is probably not worth it. The improvement in audio quality compared to the price just doesn't match up.
Yeah i know but most of the younger generation now adays goes for style more then anything and thats what you pay for.
I really like the Skullcandy GI. I've also got lowriders so I can choose <3 But my favorite are my big black ones - especially in winter! Perfect earwarmers! xD
Personally, I prefer earbuds, because my ears hurt when I wear headphones too long. The Skullcandy GI looks really cool though.
bose is always best, but so expensive, and skullcandy has pretty good quality and some have the option of a bass booster, which is nice.
my preference though is zumreeds. the headphones are amazing but ive had issues with the jack and cords integrity. |
I go for earphones and it usually depend on the price of the earphones, which I got my phillips nano color ones from Supertarget for $7 and it give out great quality sound and crispness (i like treble more than bass; bass makes me sick XP)
The only preference I have is that they aren't ear buds.
I have ear problems and ear buds really hurt. |
i get the comfort ones so it's not scratching my ears
I prefer headphones that don't mess up my hair, but I'm extraordinarily hard on ear buds. As a result, I have a pair of over-the-ear-and-behind-the-head headphones. Those things have been tough.
Yeah, Moonkin bought a pair of REALLY nice earbuds. I'm impressed at the sound they can put out. They're surprisingly comfortable, too. But like any earbuds (or earplugs) the pressure does eventually start to get painful.
Interesting, owo im not so much a fan of earbuds anymore as i have a habit of breaking one earphone somehow, but my headset for my computer hurts after a while from them pushing on my ears :I
I have a tendency to break one side of it. My last I broke while I was cleaning it so I got my phillips one for a sales price and they've been good to me, for now.
Well, sure, unless you do something like shear off the entire cable, one side is going to break before the other. :P
no it was the inside of the earphone...don't buy the dollar store earphone, bad quality and they don't last past 5 hours
Here we call those earphones.
I have noise canceling ones as well as 600$ Bose noise cancelling headphones. |
Skullllcandiiiessss are awesome :D Same with Bose. THey are the best.
I like skullcandy. Personally as long as they're those in-ear earbuds, then I don't care what brand they are. I'm not picky on sound, either, so so long as they work, and aren't too expensive, I don't care... XD and are cute.
I've never bought earphones frim Skull candy or bose I get the one that are on sale the ones I got now are phillips
I don't really have a brand preference, aside from disliking JVC because of bad quality. Basically, as long as it sounds good, and doesn't have too much bass or too much treble, I'm good. Oh, and they must be the over the ear kind, earbuds make my ears sore from having something wedged in them for so long.
I like in the ear. Over the ear for me feels like I'm not getting the sound as much as it could be because it's paded over the speaker and the percentage of the sound in around the er which usually projects to the outside.
And I do have spare airplane in the earphones just in case if my earphone breaks at a time where I can't go to a store. |
My roommate has some bluetooth wrap-around headphones I'm pretty fond of currently. I've just never been a big fan of earbuds
I've never used soft end earphones but I have used the hard plastic kind that you stick in your ear. That's why I prefer headphones that actually go on your head. The main downside to this for me is their not as easily carried around xP
I don't really have a brand preference, as long as it's not JVC because last time I bought them the quality was rather crappy. Aside from that, I just prefer over the ear headphones, ear bugs always hurt after being in my ears for a while, even the jelly kind. And to me, the over the ear kind just sound better personally. Currently using Sony noise canceling headphones. |
Oh I had some white JVC headphones. They were fine in quality but they were musical ear muffs. Only good when outside int he cold. Wear them in the summer and you just wanna die xD
I usually use the apple headphones, you know the ones that come with your iPod? They're the only ones that can stay in my ears for an extended period of time without my ears hurting.
I can't stand the gummy earphones that go right in your ear. They feel disgusting and block out all sound from the outside, which some see as a blessing, but in school it's none too handy. |
I wish I could use ear buds but they don't stay in my ears. I have a nice pair of over the ear skull candy headphones and they do the trick nicely. :) |
I can adjust to any type, although the transition tends to hurt if I'm adjusting to earbuds. They'll stretch bits of cartilage in my ear. D; |
This is the set I have on right now. For their very cheap price they are INSANELY AMAZING. The bass through these, it's some of the best bass sound quality I've ever heard.
Wicked WI-8001 I have Skull Candy earbuds and they're amazing too. For little tiny ones, you can't beat what I do to those things. I've had them for years and I can just keep cranking the volume and they never wear out or blow out. |
I just go with whatever studio headphones Sony is selling for $20 at the time I need new headphones really.
Boseeeeeeeee
MAINLY because I'm a RIM major and I want the best of the best. |D I don't have the newest pair, lol poor college kid, but I like what I have. c: |
Because I am deaf, and I wear a hearing aid, I use those: http://www.tecear.com/Music_Link.htm
They transmit sound pretty clear and I can just hook it behind my ear with my hearing aid, and while I'd rather blast music in my room, they are perfect for going out since I could crank up my volume high as I want, and the person right next to me won't hear it. xD I'm not sure how to explain how it works, but I hope some people would understand it. < u< especially with that website. |
That's actually pretty legit, Taki. :D
Skullcandy baby.
I have small ears and can't use regular earbuds. I have to use the itty bitty ones like Skullcandy has. That particular brand is too expensive for me, though, so I bought a nice pair of GE earbuds for $7 at the local Target. I'm using them right now, and these little buggers are great!
I like earbuds and I just use the kind that my ipod touch came with. A lot of other earbuds seem to either hurt my ears or have that squishy thing on them which I eventually lose. Without the squishy thing they hurt so I don't buy that kind at all. The apple ones don't hurt at all so I like them X3
