MO HAWKIN [M e w & Lee] - M -

WARNING ; This roleplay will be mature for violence, language, and sexual themes.
You have been warned.

Name; Shaun Grieves AKA MO HAWKIN
Age; 27
Species; Human [American]
Employment; Mercenary
Appearance; He is a pretty big guy; 6'2" and weighs about 190 pounds. Gray-green eyes. Skin is in between fair and a very light tan. Very muscular and fit because he's constantly fighting and exercising. He has strong features and a sharp profile. Has a long Mohawk, the short sides being black and the middle dyed a light brown/blondish color. The back of his Mohawk falls to about his shoulders but he keeps it clipped up to his head with a flat black hair clip. Usually has stubble, but will go clean-shaven at times. He has several piercings; one lip ring on the left side, two lobe piercings in his right ear, a lobe, conch, and pinna rings, and industrial bar in his left ear. They are all black rings and bars.
He pretty much just wears black, but sometimes he will wear come certain other colors like white, red, highlighter yellow...
Wears one thick black band-ring on his right pointer finger.
Also has one tattoo that covers his right scapula; it is an assault rifle with a script on the body of the gun saying : War never ends, so I fight 'till I die. His body is scarred from battle; cuts, bruises, bullet wounds, etc. No specific scar that is important, but all hold specific memories for him.
Sketch of Shaun
Personality; Shaun is hardened from living on a planet where war and poverty are his constant surroundings. He usually stays neutral and emotionless, but when he lets his real personality show he becomes a likable and compassionate guy. He hates war, humans killing humans, but he seems like a hypocrite since he is a mercenary and kills other human beings every day. He actually became a mercenary because he found out that fighting and killing was the only way he could survive and make money, so he does it. He has counted every single person that he has killed to remember them; the number is closing in on the thousands. He is typically a loner, but he gets easily attached to others and learns to care for them without thinking about it. Can be embarrassed fairly easily but tries not to show it.
Background; Shaun has been an orphan for most of his life. His parents and siblings were killed by raiders when he was about nine years old. He managed to escape and eventually was able to learn how to fend for himself. He became a mercenary when he turned sixteen, finding out that he had an unnerving skill for taking human life. He struggled with his deeds for many years until he got out of his teens. Has never had an actual relationship, just finds partners, man or woman, every so often when he is required to stay in one place for a while. Always leaves them behind without anymore thought about them. Has now been a soldier for hire for over a decade and has no real purpose in life besides surviving, like many other people who live on the war-infested planet.

The assignment was a simple one; ambush the enemy's stronghold, eliminate all threats, save any civilians, and let no foe escape.
Shaun ducked his head down into his shoulder as rubble and shrapnel flew past him. These bastards were packing the grenades, tossing them everywhere to try and keep them from getting close. He heard a yell of pain from his right; one of the soldiers he was on side with had gotten his legs blown off, and now he was pulling the bloody stumps behind him, trying to get out of the way of another blast. Too late. He was ash and bone in another moment.

"Grieves! Get in there dammit!" he heard a soldier yell, a commander. He obliged willingly, ducking and rolling to avoid machine gun blasts until he wound up behind a rusted, dead car. He stuck his arm out and fired multiple rounds out of his NCM Assault Rifle, hearing the bullets pierce soft flesh and screams of pain following the thwack of the wounds. He ran up some more. Fired more rounds. Repeat. Repeat.
It was always the same for Shaun, he knew what he had to do, and he did it. No fuss, no muss. Soon he was running low through the captive building, shooting off enemy forces with ease. They should have evacuated the entire area, but he kept an eye out for civilians anyways.

He finally threw a grenade from his belt into a group of enemy targets, blowing them to shreds. The building came to an end, but there was a door outside, presumably to the rest of the small town held captive by the raiders. He burst through the door, immediately to be greeted with gunfire. He slid back behind the wall, then shot off bullets of his own, scattering the bunch.
When he came back out they were gone, but Shaun heard some sort of scuffling around the corner.
When he came around the corner it seemed as though some dumb civilian had walked outside and gotten attacked by a group of the raiders.
Hiding behind the corner, he leveled his rifle and began shooting off some of the assailants. Then when the others spotted him he came around the corner, completely visible and vulnerable, and began shooting at them, making sure to avoid hitting the civilian; a large male with dark hair.

Honestly, this was the best place for him to be right now... As Mavek walked through this bloody town, pretty much unseen by everyone around, he was enjoying it far too much... He inhaled the deep scent of blood and closed his green eyes, preventing them from turning a dark blue. He didn't want that right now... He didn't need to lose control... He's lost control so many times before and it wasn't that good to him in the end. He'd always ended up getting hurt in some way... That took longer to heal than normal wounds on him. Sometimes even having a limb severed and having to steal one from someone else to attach to himself again... That had happened a few times... To his left arm. He'd gone through about three of them... But that wasn't the point right now as he slinked through the carnage.

As he walked behind a building to see what was on the other side, he was surrounded by people... Only about five of them though, so it wasn't any problem for him. He just started grinning as he stood his ground, looking up at them. He knew he could take care of these people and get the snack he'd come here looking for... That was what he was really worried about as he shifted his feet on the ground into a better stance. Just by looking at him, he was wondering how these five guys thought they were going to be able to take him...

But then one of them fell after he heard a gunshot... What's that? He looked in the direction and his eyes focused immediately on the nearly hidden figure... But then he jumped out into view. Stupid move... Mavek could now see the person that thought they were saving him. That was so precious... So very precious. It made him grin as he stood there and watched the people fall to the ground dead before him... Without him even lifting a finger. That was about how it would have happened as well. He didn't even have to... Draw his weapon to win this battle, so to speak.

M e w 01-11-2011 12:57 AM

He finished killing off the assailants, shooting them either in the heart or head. He did a quick count in his head, it seemed that all of the raiders were taken care of. This town would be free from bloodshed, for now. But the obvious poverty would not go away, in fact, it would probably get worse without the raiders' stolen treasures that somewhat helped lift the poorness of the people here. Shaun turned his attention towards the civilian.

"Hey, moron, why don't you get back inside so you don't get yourself killed," he said to the other man, not having the patience for people who couldn't stay out of harms way.
His frown deepened in his face as he checked the bodies he had wasted. All dead. The count was up to 848 with this mission. He got up from his crouch and slung his rifle onto his back. Finally, he looked back up at the man, waiting for him to run on home.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 01:20 AM

Narrowing his eyes at the creature that had called him a moron, Mavek was not very pleased. He tapped his foot and crossed his arms over his chest in a feeble attempt to calm himself down after that blow. He could lose control of himself very easily, but he didn't want to do it in front of this mohawk freak. He could help but eyeball him though, since he was extremely attractive... Hmmm... He was then a little less angry at this male, but it wasn't enough for him to accept being called a moron.

"You did your job, am I right, boy?" he asked, his voice louder than normal since the man was not too terribly close to him. "I'm no moron. I could have taken those guys myself. You'd spotted this just as they'd surrounded me... Did you ever think that you may be the moron?" He was hinting at that last part for his own good because his stomach was actually growling now... He was hungry and all of this dead flesh around him made him remember that. He couldn't eat someone that was dead... He needed to eat a live person... This was bullshit.

M e w 01-11-2011 01:30 AM

The words that came out of the moron's mouth definitely shocked Shaun. His eyes widened just a bit but then a sarcastic sneer crossed his face.
"Ya, ok, go back on home," he said in a condescending tone, waving his hand back towards the run down buildings that lingered in the distance.
Shaun took a closer look at the man he was speaking to while he did this. He couldn't deny that he wasn't... bad looking, but he tried not to linger on that fact. He tapped the small radio that was on the collar of his jacket and spoke into it.
"Premises are clear, all enemy units eliminated," he said in a monotone voice. He figured he should go ahead and round back to where the soldiers were waiting. He began to turn around to do just that, now ignoring the other man.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 01:46 AM

"Hmph..." Mavek snorted out, not more amused than anything else. Did he really think that someone that was dressed the way he was lived here? He looked down at his own clothes that were obviously of worth... He then looked back up to the man and shook his head. This was a strange male, but he was just like the rest of them. All of the ones trained to kill the people just to make a living. Mavek was disgusted by them because they would kill the people and not even do anything with them... This was no use to Mavek in the least bit. He was no scavenger. He only ate things he killed...

"This place is no home of mine," he stated to no one in particular. He was rather offended that this man would even suspect that he did indeed live in this poor little shithole of a town. Mavek wouldn't stand for that. He would at least watch this man leave though, to make sure he really didn't want to just eat this guy on the spot. He figured it would raise too much awareness in the end though.

M e w 01-11-2011 01:54 AM

Just as Shaun was about to walk back to the front of the raiders' base, he heard static erupt from the radio.
"Grieves, inspect the town. We're cleaning up our guys, so you can just see if any of the civilians have any information on the raiders," the soldier on the other end said to him.
Shaun sighed heavily internally.
Why the fuck should I talk to them? The raiders are dead, any intell shouldn't matter anymore... he thought to himself.

He turned back around, facing the other man there.
"You still here? Excuse me," he said to him as he shoved his way past. Dust rose up as his boots grinded against the cracked ground. This place was one of the worst towns he'd seen.
Corpses lined the streets, animal and human both. The starving faces that peeked out of the windows filled him with dread. Those hollow faces of young kids made him think of himself, before he became a mercenary. Always hungry, scavenging for the least bit of scraps.
He shook his head, forcing the thoughts away,
There was nothing he could do, so why linger on it?

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 02:10 AM

It was at that moment that he knew he had a huge problem with this man. He stepped to the side when the man pushed past him when there was more than enough room for him to walk. He scowled as he watched the man walk into the city and he silently hoped that someone would reach out and stab him or something. He then slowly crept behind a building and started his way out of the city, just for something to eat at least... He knew what this guy smelled like now, so he could find him again if he needed to... That thought made him smirk.

Soon he was closer to the edges of the godforsaken city and he was starting to see less and less people... He finally found one that didn't seem like it was diseased and he moved into the forest for a few moments... He then closed his eyes and felt the horns begin their protrusion... It didn't take long before he was completely in his demon form, crouching down to make sure the human he'd had his sights on was still near... Luckily, he was.

Grinning, Mavek launched himself into the air and quickly tackled the human into the woods on the other side, rolling down some slick piles of leaves and into the dirt with a loud thud. His hands had been clamped down over this human's mouth from the start and he was really glad that when they landed, it happened with him on top. He leaned down and ripped the fabric off of the torso and sunk his teeth into the delicious juicy flesh. He enjoyed his meal for about ten minutes or so, ripping and tearing at the soft and sweet flesh. He was soon full though, which was good as he looked down at the carcass beneath him. He made his way quickly deeper into the woods and found somewhere he would be able to clean the floor from his mouth and teeth. He soon found a stream and wiped the crimson fluid from his mouth and teeth. He then drank some of the water, enjoying how cool and fresh it was as it rolled down his throat. He then sighed as he sat there, allowing his demonic form to slowly revert back to human.

M e w 01-11-2011 02:29 AM

It was pretty pointless to try and ask these people about what had happened while their town was occupied. Shaun would knock on their doors but nobody would answer, it was like a ghost town.
He sighed as yet another door stayed closed, the residents locked inside.
He glanced around the rest of the dusty town and saw a bar. He almost grinned. He wasn't going to be able to get any information knocking on doors, so he might as well go see if anyone was at the local drinking hall, as well as relax a bit himself.
He walked towards the building, it seemed to be in better shape than the residential houses.

He strode into the building, not looking at the starving people who looked at him with suspicious, glazed over eyes. He sat down on the nearest bar-stool and ordered a scotch. The bartender quickly poured him a drink without really looking at him, more so at the gun strapped to his back...
Shaun knew he couldn't trust these people, they were desperate and starving. Those kinds of people were capable of just about anything.
He leaned his head back and tipped the burning liquid down his throat. It had been a while since he'd had a drink actually, and he shook his head as he felt the burn sizzle in his throat. Immediately he asked for another one.

"So... can you tell me about those raiders?" he asked warily, figuring he wouldn't get an answer even if he tried.
The bartender poured him another scotch and licked his cracked lips.
"They're dead now ain't they? Another group will just move in about a month from now," he said matter-of-fact.
Shaun glared down into the brown liquid in the shotglass. He knew the man was right, even when a group of soldiers moved in and got rid of the raiders, another group would eventually take the town captive again.
It was a constant cycle, death plaguing everyone's door. He kicked back the second glass and said nothing.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 02:50 AM

That meal was satisfying... Overly so as he made his way back towards the city. He was sniffing the air trying to figure out exactly where that asshole had went. He was going to make sure he got something for the way he was talking to him... Talking to him like he was one of these dirty street rats. He wouldn't put with that, oh noooo... He was much better than that. He was far too powerful to be treated in that manner and he demanded respect...

Licking his lips, made his way back out on the road. He wasn't too far out of the city either. He could already faintly smell that attractive piece of flesh as he walked back to the god forsaken city he'd been in before looking for a meal, to no avail. He soon go back to about the same spot and the scent was strong here. He followed it to a bar and was pleased to see that when he peeked in through the door, he saw the man.

M e w 01-11-2011 02:58 AM

Shaun heard the door open and automatically looked back to see who would be entering.
He groaned when he saw that it was the guy from earlier. He looked a bit... different though. Satisfied. For some reason, the thought sent chills down his back. Unconsciously he began chewing on the steel ring that pierced his lip. He realized he was doing it quickly and made himself stop.
He hated having habits like that, it made him look like a nervous rat. They were from the days back when he was constantly twitching and on the look out for danger or food. He wished he could just cast off those days.

He turned his attention away from the man and back to the bartender. He had had about three drinks and he could tell he wasn't going to get any information from these people. He reached into one of the pockets on his black cargo pants and pulled out a wallet. He slapped down the money for his drinks and said a quiet thank you.
This guy got on his nerves for some reason, and he didn't want to be stuck in such a small place with him.
As he walked past he subtly turned his nose up at him, making it obvious he didn't think very highly of the man. Then he walked out of the building without a second glance.

"Returning to your position..." he said into his microphone. They should be done cleaning up the wounded and corpses that littered the ground over there so he decided to head back. The city was still like a ghost town, every now and then he would catch the fluttering of curtains.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 03:14 AM

The more he made it obvious he wasn't thinking too highly of him, the happier it would make Mavek in the end. He knew he could get the best of this guy no problem... He just had to go about it the proper way... And as he made his way behind some buildings and carefully followed the man out of sight, he was so sure he was going to be able to do just that.

Watching the foot steps, Mavek was moving silently over the ground to make sure he could keep up with this man. It wasn't hard because he didn't seem like he was in too much of a hurry. When they got out of the city, Mavek fell back a few yards and continued to follow him in the woods. He was waiting for him to get a significant distance from the city, even though there wasn't anyone to help him even if he were to scream.

M e w 01-11-2011 03:44 PM

Shaun needed to take a detour through the thick woods that surrounded the building; he didn't want to go back through the building and have to continue to look at all of the people he'd killed. He would kill them, add them to his list, and then leave them. He used to wonder why he should bother counting the lowlifes such as raiders and murderers, but he knew why now; they were still human, no matter how loosely. He could say the same about himself actually, anyone who had ended so many others' lives could barely be considered human. He gripped the butt of one of his silver pistols he kept in holsters on either side of his hips. He didn't use them much, they were more sentimental than anything. He sighed as his hand grasped the cool metal. For some reason, knowing that they were there soothed him.

He scrunched his nose up at a sudden stench. Shaun knew the stink well, it was the smell of a freshly ravaged corpse. He only went a few more steps before he was able to see it; a man, but it was hard to tell as his body was completely torn apart. It looked like... someone had eaten him. Shaun just stared down at the dead man sadly, he had seen scenes similar to this many times. Good people turned to such horrid acts when they were overrun by starvation. This time was a bit different though... it didn't look as though he had been cut open like a human would have had to. More like an animal attack.
"Great..." Shaun muttered to himself. The creature that did it could very well still be around. He drew his assault rifle off of where it was strapped to his back, holding it steadily, waiting for any sort of movement.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 04:36 PM

When he noticed that the man had crept into the woods himself, Mavek stopped and crouched down. He watched him as he moved, making sure he was to stay out of sight. It was easy to do when you were wearing nothing but black though, so he grinned as he stayed concealed. He knew that he was going to run into his little meal from before, but that didn't bother him at all... He wondered if the man even suspected that he was being followed by someone... He liked the thrill of the hunt so much, so this was rather empowering for him as he began to move again, down on all fours with careful precision to make sure he didn't make any noise at all. It was easier for him this way, since he was slowly but surely shifting into his other form... His much more powerful form... He knew he could overpower this man in his human form, but it would be much more fun to do so when he had a much larger upperhand...

As he watched this man analyze what he'd done to the body, Mavek's tail was out behind him swishing. His horns were almost completely out to the length they were supposed to be and the tiny sharp notches showed through his sleeves... He looked around to see what he could use to his advantage, but then he decided it would be best to not let it be known that he was the cause of this mutilated body... He calmed himself down, knowing he let his anger and hate get the best of him. He quickly reverted back to human form, his eyes still intent on MO HAWKINthe man from before.

Raising from his crouched position, Mavek was behind a few trees, not too far away. He was just watching him, wondering why he was taking so long to examine that carcass. It made his stomach feel even more full as he looked at how mutilated it was, enjoying the sight quite a bit, actually. He then carefully moved himself between the trees and had his eyes on the many weapons that adorned this man's torso and hips. He grabbed his wrists in one quick movement, scraped the rifle out of the man's grip with the ground and pushed him into the nearest tree, pushing the man's body into it with his own. He was a little too close to this man for him to honestly be comfortable, but Mavek didn't care much... He actually enjoyed the closeness and it made him grin.

"Do not try to attack or it will be the last thing you do..." he explained to him. "I'm going to release your wrists now and you may retrieve your rifle." He didn't want this to get ugly. He just wanted to talk. He released the man's wrists and took a few steps back, kicking the rifle back into his possession.

M e w 01-11-2011 04:48 PM

It happened in just a moment; one second Shaun was listening intently for any sort of crazed animal, and the next he was pressed up against a tree by the man he had seen earlier. A small grunt escaped his mouth as his back hit the rough bark of the tree.
His eyes darted to the rifle that had been snatched out of his hands so quickly that he hadn't had time to react.

He glared into the other man's eyes, waiting for his opportunity to counter. He was surprised when he let him go and kicked his gun back over to him. His green-gray eyes automatically glanced down at it, but he didn't move to retrieve it. He figured he might as well listen to this man, whatever he had to say. In any case, he could draw the silver pistols from their holsters in the fraction of a second if the need arose. His eyes stayed guarded as he watched the man's movements carefully, waiting for any sign of more hostile behavior.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 05:00 PM

The way he was reacting was satisfactory. Overly so and it made Mavek grin. He crossed his arms over his chest and shifted his weight to one leg as he eyed this man, trying to get a feel for how he worked. He knew this man had a lot more to him than it seemed... And he would like to know what because he was quiet the character, honestly... It made Mavek want to steal this man from the rest of society as it was. He huffed that feeling out of his system though as he turned his attention back to his face.

"Tell me. What's your name, boy?" he asked, not recalling it being said yet. He figured that was a good way to start the conversation... Seeing as how he had some plans in the works in his mind. He was tapping his foot lightly as he waited for a reply, wanting to know more about this man before he continued with his plans. He figured that would be simple enough. It didn't hurt for one to be informed of another's name.

M e w 01-11-2011 05:14 PM

His name? This man was a strange one.
Shaun eyed him warily still, just waiting for him to make a move to attack him.
"It's Shaun. Grieves," he said to the other man, his voice laced with suspicion. He wasn't even sure why he was complying, it would be easy to whip out both his pistols and shoot this guy full of lead. Case closed. He could move on. But there was no way he could make himself do it.
It was one of his biggest rules to not kill someone if they weren't of any immediate harm to him. In these times, everyone could seem like a threat, so he shouldn't go around shooting people who caused him to be careful.

"Now, how about yours?" he continued. It wasn't right to ask for a name if you didn't give your own. He kept his arms hung loosely at his sides, his fingers twitching.
The stench of the half-eaten corpse still filled his nostrils, but he only now seemed to remember it was there. His nose scrunched up again, an involuntary reflex of his body.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 05:42 PM

"Hmm... Shaun, huh?" Mavek asked as he placed one of his hands on his chin, resting his pointer finger on it. He looked down as he sounded the name out in his head, adding the Grieves part. It had a slightly sultry ring to it... He rather liked it, actually and he approved of it by the time he was done dissecting it. He then looked back up at him and removed his hand from his face, placing it back down on his opposing arm to lay flat as he kept his arms crossed over his chest.

When he was asked his own name, he laughed. He shifted his weight again, to the opposing leg. "My name is Mavek. Umawli, if you must know," he said with a slight nod of his head. As he continued to eye him, he was trying to figure out in his head if this was the one that would be able to help him achieve his goal.. His goal of slight revenge, but mainly to prevent it from happening again.

M e w 01-11-2011 05:52 PM

The man took a while to reply with his own name. Mavek. It was definitely a strange name, but he was strange himself, so he figured it fit.
When Mavek looked back to him Shaun felt yet another shiver run down his spine. He didn't like the way his eyes ran over him. It disturbed him and he wished he could just go back to regroup with the soldiers and go collect his payment for the job after that.
It was time for him to move onto another place, find another job. He just stood there, not saying anything, as he waited for Mavek to make his move. Shaun was fine if he would let him pass or if he forced him to attack, he just was tired of standing around, the smell of this haggard town filling his head.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 06:48 PM

"So all you do with your life is kill, is that right?" he asked the man after he was done eying him for the third time now. He then brought his bright green eyes back up to Shaun's face. He allowed a sly grin to dance over his lips as he asked the question. He made it obvious that killing didn't bother him at all. He then uncrossed his arms and allowed them to drop back down to his side.
"I don't like in that god forsaken town either... I do hope you realize this," he added with a scowl. He wouldn't stay there even if someone found a way to kill him there. He would reanimate his corpse and force it to move at least to the woods. That place was dreadful.

M e w 01-11-2011 07:00 PM

Shaun flinched at the question. That was what he did, but he didn't like hearing it. He hated murderers and people who killed others with a passion, but that included himself. He knew he was a worthless example of a human being, but he did what he had to to live. Sometimes he wished he could just give himself over to the raiders or crazed people who lived in the world these days. Every time he truly considered it human survival instincts kicked in and he wouldn't allow himself to die. He would realize that it was pointless for him to die now. More people would die even if he wasn't in the world.

His brow creased as he glared Mavek.
"What is it that you want? I'm not looking to have a fun little chat with some moron stalker," he growled. He had had enough of this guy. It was about time for this to end, as Shaun was still getting the creeps from this man.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 08:00 PM

"I'll have you know that I'm no moron, boy," Mavek said as he took a stern step forward. "Stalker I may be, but there's nothing wrong with that in this day and age. You do what you have to do to get by and survive..." He then continued to glare forward at this man, knowing it hurt him to admit to himself for even a moment that his job was to kill people on a regular basis... Sometimes even more than one person on a regular basis. That was perfect... Just perfect... Moving one of his long fingers up, he scratched the back of his neck as he lost himself in thought once more. He scrunched his face up as he looked down at the ground. He wasn't sure if he even wanted anything to do with this man. He was so damn disrespectful... "I have a proposition for you though, unless your pathetic life is too busy to hear it."

His eyes rolled at what Mavek said, it sounded just a bit ridiculous.
"Fine. Let me hear it, will it get this whole conversation over with?" he said, not trying to hide his annoyance one bit. He was usually a really nice guy, trying to watch what he said and how he said it, but he was tired of this guy.

That made him snort out a little laughter as he looked at this guy. "If you were to accept this proposition then you would have a lot more of me to deal with, you know," Mavek said and shook his head. He just stared at the man, his expression that of an extremely amused person. "I need you to kill something for me." He said something instead of someone because he didn't consider this thing a person... It was a demon and it was pretty ruthless. It wasn't very easy to kill though, especially for a demon. For some reason, demons could barely touch it.

Shaun's eyes widened and he took a small step back, surprised by where this talk had turned.
A new job? he thought to himself.
"What? You're hiring me?" he asked the man, feeling his voice change into a business one.
"I have to ask, what kind of payment are we talking about? If I have to spend more time with you then it better be good," he told Mavek.
Shaun didn't really care about having a lot of money, but he knew that having a lot of it only helped him when he needed it. Money had actually saved him several times when dealing with characters who would try to back stab you. If you gave them enough cash, they would leave you alone. He could probably handle any of those people, but he felt that the bullets weren't worth the trouble.

Reaching into his pocket, he grabbed a handful of cash and thumbed through it. "I do believe that this will be a sufficient amount... If I say so myself," he said as he put about half of it back in his pocket. He was glad he had a habit of taking the cash that were on the people he would eat most of the time. He handed the man some hundred dollar bills, figuring it would suffice if he needed anything... Mavek didn't have much need for these things anyway. He didn't like anywhere and he also didn't need to buy food... There was plenty of food for him lying around. He only needed money to buy clothing... And he rarely messed up his clothing, as long as his spikes on his arms didn't tear it up too terribly badly.

Taking the crumpled bills, Shaun raised his eyebrow. This was a bit unorthodox, that was for sure.
He counted the money and it came out to be just a few hundred dollars.
"You've got to be kidding right? This isn't even half of what I would take for an easy job," he told him, becoming even more annoyed.
"If you're just gonna waste my time then I think I'll be going," he said, now not taking this Mavek person seriously at all.

He picked up his rifle and put it back onto his back. He straightened back up and looked at the other man one more time. Then he shook his head and started to walk off, away from this entire scene, completely having forgotten about the torn apart carcass and the surprise attack that Mavek had launched on him. This guy must have been crazy or something, best to get away promptly.

Looking back in his pocket, Mavek laughed and shook his head. "It would appear I didn't even pull out all of the money from my pocket. Here," he said and pulled out about eight more bills just to make it perhaps worth his while. "And I am only giving you half of what you would normally get. You don't think I would give you the entire payment before you complete the job do you?" He took a few steps forward, following the man regardless of what his intentions were. He'd honestly thought he'd handed him more than that though, not paying much attention to how much money he'd handed over. He didn't know what to value money anymore anyway though. He never needed it, so it made perfect sense that he would have come up short with the first attempt. He grabbed Shaun's hand and slapped the other eight bills into the man's hand. "There's more where this came from, you know?" And he wasn't lying.

M e w 01-11-2011 09:57 PM

He looked down at the money in his hand. He was about to refuse again but... then again, he wasn't sure where he was going to go for another job. Sometimes he would go over a month without getting one. As a mercenary, you never knew when your next payment was coming, if you'd make it to the next one.
He sighed heavily then turned back to face Mavek.
"Fine. What are you suggesting? I'm bound to take whatever sort of job you have, so don't be afraid to tell me the whole story," he told him, his face back to its blank, neutral stare.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 10:46 PM

"Before I start... I'm going to explain that there's more money that that in your hand coming if you complete this job," Mavek stated as he pushed some of his hair from his face. He then crossed his arms over his chest and sighed, preparing himself to just tell the basics and not go into much detail. He didn't want anyone to know what had happened to him anyway, so it made perfect sense. He just shrugged it off and then closed his eyes for a moment. "There's a demon I need you to kill. He's killed many, many humans and his reign of terror needs to come to an end. If you accept this job then you will be dramatically changing many lives, including my own." He then looked back up at the man, wondering if he would just think he was even more insane than he did before.

M e w 01-11-2011 11:01 PM

Shaun just stood there waiting for Mavek to say he was joking. Nothing happened.
Okay.. so this guy IS crazy... he thought.
He shook his head, figuring he should see if this guy was using certain words for different meanings or something of that sort.
"You mean demon as in... some sort of warlord? Terrorist leader? Something like that right?" he asked him, very skeptical. Even though the man didn't seem to have meant it in another way or didn't seem like he was joking... he had to be.

#FFFFFF 01-11-2011 11:13 PM

"I mean demon as in nothing like you've ever encountered before," Mavek said and shook his head. He knew that part of the story was going to be hard to believe. "Do you accept the job or not? You can go find another job if you don't want my money. I can find someone else to help me." He was beginning to grow impatient with these things as it was. He hadn't found anyone that would be acceptable to help him attempt the destruction of this demon as it was... They couldn't do it alone and most of the humans he thought were acceptable tried and failed because they didn't accept his help... He sighed at that thought as he continued to glare forward, looking at this man to find out if he was going to accept the job or not.

M e w 01-11-2011 11:23 PM

The way he was talking to him made Shaun feel as though his skills were being questioned. He wasn't the type of man who was always worrying about his pride and trivial things like that, but he found it hard to turn down a challenge. He shoved the money down into his pocket and glared back up at Mavek.
"I'll do it. I'm actually betting on this being an easy one, no trouble at all," he said, knowing that he sounded cocky and arrogant but not caring. This was his job, and he would do it, no matter what sort of assignment he was being given.
He stood there, waiting for his new client to tell him all of the basic information of this assassination. Surely it was just another person he was supposed to go make quick work of.

Grinning broadly, Mavek's arms dropped from his chest again as he took some steps forward. He was more than in this man's privacy as he looked down at him. "There's one last thing though..." he said as he began to unbutton his shirt. "You see..." He got it halfway unbuttoned and pulled it to the side, revealing his tattoo. "Things are more complicated that you first anticipated. He grabbed Shaun's arm with his left hand and then used his right to pick off one of the dragon heads from his tattoo. It came off with a small fight, squirming under his touch. The remaining two then fused together like it had always just been a mirror reflection of the other side. He smacked it down on Shaun's arm and watched it as it slithered up his skin to reside on the same spot it used to be on his own anatomy. "You can't do it on your own... And now we're connected. With that, you share some of my same powers now... Mainly the ability to regenerate wounds... In case it's needed." He then dropped the man's arm and smirked down at him, wondering if he really thought this was going to be a normal job.

M e w 01-12-2011 05:52 PM

He stood there frozen as the man took part of his tattoo off and put it onto his arm. It tingled a bit as it wriggled up his arm and he felt it settle on his chest. His eyes were wide with disbelief.
Then he grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled it out away from his torso, doing the same with the bullet-proof vest that protect him underneath it. There was the dragon tattoo, quietly writhing on his skin.
"What the fuck was that?!" Shaun yelled out without thinking, grabbing Mavek's wrist tightly.
"What did you do to me?!" he asked this time, wondering what the hell this guy was and what this meant for him.

#FFFFFF 01-12-2011 06:02 PM

Laughing outloud at this man's reaction, Mavek shook his head and leaned down, his eyes perfectly in line with this man. "There's no way you would be able to do this mission without my help... This tattoo," he began and then pulled down his shirt some more, showing the remaining two that were on the left side of his chest.
"Is part of my power... But it's not only a tattoo... It's much more than you could imagine," he said and then removed his hand from his shirt. "You now have part of my power. If you get hurt, your wounds will heal in a matter of minutes instead of days... Even weeks it would take to heal some things. Not now though... Not for now..."
It wasn't obvious, but he was leaving something out about this. He just found his reaction to be insanely comical though. "You're not dealing with humans anymore."

M e w 01-12-2011 06:10 PM

This is ridiculous... Shaun thought, staring down again at the black mark on his chest.
So this whole mess about demons and shit was true... just what he needed. It was hard enough surviving in a place with just human beings, now he was going to have to deal with things that were even deadlier.
Instead of freaking out and running away crying like someone else might have done, Shaun just dropped Mavek's wrist and looked him in the eye.

"Fine. Just tell me what we're going to do now. The quicker I finish this job, the better," he told him, his brief freak-out over and done with. This world knew how to throw you for loops, and this was just another test of survival for him. Like everything else he went through he might pass it, or he could very well fail it and his life would end. It was the way things worked here, and he was up for the challenge.

"Your determination and perseverance is inspiring as well as precious," Mavek said with another laugh. He then turned and looked deeper into the woods. He shrugged his shoulders lightly and then turned back to look at this man. He buttoned his shirt back up, but left the top two buttons undone like he'd had before. He then grinned broadly at this man. He seemed different already... Just with the change in power he'd received. He didn't feel it yet, but he would when the tattoo completely settled in. Even now, it would be shifting and changing into another form... A form of its own choosing.

"Now then... This demon travels, but always stays within the same areas. It's about a two day walk to get to the area he roams, so it's not that bad... Not that bad at all," he went on to explain. "I don't think you're going to have a problem killing this demon at all... But... Sometimes I am surprised. I would kill him myself but there's something about this demon... Another demon can't destroy him."
