Reoccurring dreams...do you have them?
Dreams are funny things. They can either inspire a person or terrify them. For me its the reoccurring dreams that freak me out the most. I have this one dream that I have had since a little kid that makes me think deaply about most things. I am standing on the playground of my elementry school playing with some friends. Its beautifull and the sun is shining brightly in the sky. Then out of no where there is a great boom and I look to the sky to see what made the noise. Then what appears to be a space ship comes down just below a cloud line. Its the same ship every time. Then a tube shoots out from the craft and goes across the sky until I can no longer see the end of it. I turn and I am alone on the feild. I turn a little more and see a man. He never says a word. His chest is bare and his hair is long and blonde falling down his back. He wears a trench coat that hangs open. He indicates with his head to look up. As I do I spot two glowing rings. As I scale the wall to get them the noise comes again and another ship appears in the sky. As I reach out to touch the rings...I wake up. I have had this dream multiple times and still have no idea as to its meaning. It bothers me deeply. I want to know if anyone has dreams that they keep having or ones that just freak them out. |
That sounds very strange. I won't ask questions here but if you want to chat about it feel free to pm me.
When I was little I used to have a reoccurring dream about a morphic being that would chase me. I tried to stop sleeping after those. It didn't end well as I started hallucinating ants crawling everywhere. I screeched the house down. |
Wow. Your dream seems frightening more than anything. I have repetitive dreams and reoccurring themes. (didn't mean to rhyme there) I often bash my teeth, lose my teeth, have bloody teeth. I also see waves like..crumpled paper and then it turns like milky smooth. I've kept dream journals for years. I should start that up again.
Do you feel like you're more exhausted when you remember your dreams? I do. I feel like my mind didn't rest. |
Yeah the dream scares me and I have had it for years but like at least...once every 3 months since I was...5 I would say...15 years later mI still have them...
Either that or weird dreams like a tornadoe with funal arms playing with my dog...dont ask lol |
Shoot! I have insane dreams. People think i'm crazy because like, they say that dreams don't make sense. That they have no beginning and no end. Well, shoot. Mine do!
Do you always recognize people in your dreams? I only recently started to actually see faces. Usually, it's just a sense that someone is there or else they're turned away from me. Dreams are neat. But sometimes, I feel like if I have a particularly bad dream, it really messes me up for the next few days. Screws with my emotions! |
Ack, tell me about it. Mine usually mess me up for about a week, longer if they keep coming back.
|
See for me I always see faces but they never speak...ever
|
For me it's the other way around. My people never have faces but almost always talk.
|
Weird man! See? No one knows for sure. They say some people see in black and white and some see in color. They say if you dream in color you're more creative but! I read a study recently that says more and more people see in color and this change came about once television became colorized.
So it's all bs. We dream what we dream, when we dream. Have you ever smelled something in your dream? I did once. Lemon. Tai - I hate it so much because half the time I cannot for the life of me figure out what the hells the matter with me and then it hits me..oh, my dream. |
Lol yea.
If you want an extreme version, a dream I had when I was seven messed me up until I was sixteen when I worked out where my issues had come from. |
Oh I have smelled things in my dream before...but for me its always strawberry...never anything different.
And my dreams get messed up. Like the other day I had a dream that my friend ask me and my bf over because she was haveing some ghostly things happening in her house and she wanted my help to document. I went over there and my bf and I where sitting on a couch watching her and her bf play pool. I had a camra and was recording the room. Then I herd a noise and turn the camra up to the roof where there was this fan that was not turned on...but then it started moving so I moved the camra then saw this creepy like demon that was white with black eyes and horns...it dropped down from the roof picked her up went back to the roof then started raping her and I woke up... So weird -shudders= |
Serious creepiness @_@
|
I know...then I have stupid dreams where im riding in a boat with sponge bob...=nods= is pinkie insane?
|
Ugh! I hate dreams like that. The violent ones that you just don't want to see. But you're kinda like a prisoner of your own mind.
I was convinced when I was little that my awake self was sleeping while my sleeping self was awake. |
haha, you're not crazy but I too often wonder if I might be.
|
No one here's crazy, just really creative ^_^
|
<-- agrees with --^ :)
|
lol I see...pinkies dreams get messed. I hate the ones when your falling hough =shudders= I hate that feeling when it makes you wake up
|
Urk me too (and Jenjen. Those are the worst for her)
|
Haha! Yeah, that doesn't happen often to me but it is a heck of a jolt, lol.
|
Yeah that or scary dreams...
Happens to me alot when im just falling asleep |
For Jenjen they happen a lot and really get to her. She wakes up and starts acting very disorientated, slapping invisible insects, running away from things and generally panicking.
|
Okay pinkies not that bad lol
|
It's ok. I'm there to help ^_^
|
Well thats good...pinkie has no one =cries and runs away= lol
|
Awwwwwwwwww 'hugs' You haz Jenjen and Myo 'far away internet hugs'
|
Yay interwebs hugs! =huggles=
|
We love you pinkie :D
If you ever have a really bad one drop me a line ^_^ |
Oh I sure will dear thank you! and is nice to be loved...I find that not many people like the pinkie sometimes
|
Why? There's nothing not to like.

My dreams don't entirely repeat, they just.. connect.
It's really strange. For example; One dream I had a long time ago - I was in this crazy hotel with spiral staircases and things, and I suppose it was getting flooded or something. Well I came across this little wooden door in a wall, and I opened it, and there was this huge "library" of sorts, where most of it was dark and it was inside some kind of large gothic-type building with pillars and stuff. And there was this statue with a sheet over it, so I touched it, and the statue - of a lion - came to life and started chasing me. Well like.. a year-ish later, I had a dream where I was in a class that went to the huge library, but we were in the lit part. My teacher kept telling us not to go into the parts that weren't lit, but I went anyway, and from one of the darker parts, I heard a door open and a lion growl, and then I went about my business. o___O I know it was the same place because it was exactly the same setup with exactly the same stuff and the same things happened. It was like two me's in one place at the same time, but not.. Idk how to explain it. I also switch perspectives quite a bit; I can be like 4+ people in one dream, and it's not like snap-I'm-another-person.. It's literally like, I'm looking through my perspective, and I lift out of one person and possess the next; like I'm actually present as a soul moving between people. It's weird, but I like it. o___O Besides that, though, my dreams are crazy... >A>;; |
Really weird dream you are having there.
When I was little I use to dream about a huge white buffalo that would protect me from anything. An later right before my ex hubby an I separated for divorce I dreamed about a guy killing random people for two weeks straight. I did not know the guy or the people. |
Lets see...I don't often have recurring dreams, at least, that I can remember. I have had a few dreams though that I feel like I've had before even though I don't consciously remember it. Once though, I had a dream that repeated itself for about four nights, but each night it had a different ending-it was about ReDeads lol-they're the zombies from the Legend of Zelda. They were kind of dressed like shamans though, and I think they were on a boat or something. I dunno what the heck the dream meant, and I don't remember much of it at all anymore, but ReDeads freak me out lol. That's all I know :P Honestly, no matter what anyone says, I feel that dreams have at least some significance, whether it be symbolic or otherwise. I mean, they affect us so deeply sometimes, I seriously doubt that they're entirely pointless. That's like saying our teeth are pointless. Dreams are a natural occurrence, no? I'm sure it serves some purpose-and just cause modern science hasn't figured it out yet doesn't mean that people should brush them off.

At OP, SERIOUSLY???
I have always had a recurring dream that is so freaking similar to yours minus the spaceship. I'm a kid, or I'm at a kid's school playground. It's usually either black and white, or it's broad daylight but I can't see like my hand is over my eyes to blur everything. It's quiet, I can see a field. Then a VERY loud booming noise is heard and I can't stand it so I cover my head. I'm standing in a field and I see a girl holding a yellow daisy that's in color but everything else is blurred and monochrome. She kindly asks me about the flower, then that's all I can see, then she yells so loudly that the whole world around me shakes violently. Everything starts to fall apart and crumble, then it's okay again and she talks to me normally and softly again. I have this dream every few years or so and always have. |
YES i get them all the time, its prety scary
|
I don't have reoccurring dreams so much as reoccurring themes to my dreams. The most common ones are being lost at school, hiding from someone in an abandoned house or building, my teeth falling out, and being able to jump incredibly high. It's rare, but occasionally I'll have sequels to my dreams. Like, one night, I might dream I'm trying go somewhere with somebody and on the next night, I'll dream I've met up with them somewhere else and we'll talk about what we did and what we'll do next.
|
Another thing that's weird about my dreams is that I will frequently have gore and/or disturbing things all around me, but I treat it like it's completely normal. I don't feel nervous or scared, I just ignore it. Like recently, I dreamed about two chairs from Hell with distressed looking faces (real, human, living faces) on the seats. One was a man constantly screaming and the other was a woman with a freakishly long tongue that pushed itself out of her mouth and moved like a worm does, then slipped back inside and repeated. My reaction? I stuck my feet on the chair with the woman's face and tried to keep her from biting my toes.
My real nightmares, the ones that fill me with absolute terror, are simple, sometimes kind of dumb, and almost always about someone chasing, following, or looking for me. |
I keep having this dream where Im at the top of the school I go to... I stand waiting for somepeople I know just staring up at the grey sky thinking about weither or not it'll rain and when they show up I go to shake hands but one takes out a gun and shoots me in the stoandmach.. I stumble back, fall off the roof and onto the grass and lay there staring up at the rain clouds then some guy who I feel like I know runs over and tries to stop the bleeding he sits there and talks to me bagging me not to die and it's wierd but I feel like I love him like he's a big part of my life or something anyways I always wake up then. Iv been having this dream sense I was 12
|
I rarely do, but when I do, its the same dream but my actions are different because in my subconcious mind if I did that action before and it put me through Hell, I'll do something different what would the consequential action be in return
|
I do occasionally, but more often I have dreams that connect to a past dream. For example in one dream it was like we were at school watching these three criminals. They were in a big cage and were pretty much being tortured to death slowly. Me and my friends all left before the end of the dream. In a dream I has probably two months later my friends and I were all driving in a car. At one point I looked through a window of a building and saw the same criminals as in the other dream still in the cage. They were sitting there and then the woman was like, "Ok, it's time to go," and they escaped using various techniques. It was just really odd.
An actual recurring dream I have involved being a puppy. I don't remember the first time I had the dream very much, but during the second there were differences. During the second one I kept thinking, "No, this isn't how it's suppose to go." XD |
