Your Heritage, what is it?

What is your blood heritage that makes you? Doesn't need to be very anally specific down to the hundredth percent.

For Example (a fact example):

I'm mostly German (I think it's West German I need to ask my Dad on that), Portuguese, Dutch, Wales, Welch, and less than 1% Native American (Sioux Indian Tribe).

What's your heritage?

Taradiddle 02-16-2011 06:18 PM

According to my mom, I am German, Czech, Scottish, and whatever the Hell Scott's Irish is supposed to be. I don't really know how much of what is in my blood, other than my great-grandmother was Czech.

Echo-chan713 02-16-2011 06:20 PM

From Scotland and Ireland

Epiphany 02-16-2011 06:41 PM

I'm about 1/4 Korean, 1/4 Native American, and the other half is mostly Scottish, but probably has some other stuff in there that I don't know. It's the Native American and Scottish-mix that shows up in me more, even though the Korean blood is so purely Korean, I'm distantly related to an old Korean emperor.

Behemoth 02-16-2011 07:01 PM

I had a German great-grandmother (one of our ancestors was a duke who built a cathedral that I think is in Austria) and some Irish, English, and Cherokee blood. On the other side of my family, I'm descended from an English knight and have some Scottish ancestors.

Bonnie 02-16-2011 07:38 PM

I'm mostly Irish and welsh on my mom's side. I call it's Isle-ish since here family tree is from all over the British Isles...

My dad's side is Polish and Serbian.
That's it really...

Espy 02-16-2011 07:44 PM

Don't take this as a weird thing, but I envy people who have a varied heritage....

Supposedly I'm Taiwainese (meaning, descended from the CHinese people who moved to Taiwan several generations ago...) because that's what's been written down, but I could be part native Taiwanese (like, aboriginal Taiwanese?). No one knows for sure whether the records are true, because, you know, some ancestors faked their heritage to be able to proudly proclaim shit.

Not too much going on on my side.

Echo-chan713 02-16-2011 07:52 PM

There's nothing special that I'm related to like high royalties.

My great grandfather got marooned by the navy in World War 1 in New York City because he had Turbirculoisis from Germany so he lived in the basement of a hospital with no education and doesn't know how to speak to the Americans for a long period of time(cause well, he only spoke German)

Then he learned the language and being taught by the nurses and doctors and became a voulenteer at the hospital for German immagrants.

because well it never really mattered until i started filling
out collage apps. and i'm what i'm not.

Pikal 02-16-2011 10:01 PM

I'm a mix Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Native American, French, and probably a smidgen of everything else somewhere along the line.

Nicole 02-16-2011 10:22 PM

Native american shows most in myself... but other then that a white mutt. I don't know much cause my mom is adopted and my father's family cut ties with mine.

Yommy 02-17-2011 12:14 AM

Well I only know a little about my dads side, my family never talked about their heritage much. According from my dad though I am a very small amount Cherokee Indian and mostly Irish.

Sabrehagen 02-17-2011 02:41 AM

I'd say it's 70% Scottish, 20% Irish and 10% German from what I can tell. Well, the more well known parts.

Espy 02-17-2011 02:43 AM

-envies on people-

johnny 02-17-2011 09:07 AM

My last name is Scottish. The rest of me is English, German, and my grandmother was French Canadian with a line of Native American ("American" as in the continent, not the United States: they were Native Canadians. xD) but I really haven't traced my genealogy back to specifics. All I really know are surname origins.

Echo-chan713 02-17-2011 03:06 PM

My last name is German for "people who are disticted as the maker of collars or the people who are famous for wearing them"

So I'm a pet by name XD

http://genealogy.familyeducation.com...age?detoured=1

johnny 02-17-2011 05:15 PM

My last name just means "Son of Arthur".

So yeah. That. Duuulll. :<

I still like the Scottish-ness of it, though. <3

But uh, you know that they probably don't mean "collar" as in "the thing that pets wear". It's "shirt collar".

Echo-chan713 02-17-2011 05:46 PM

it's a middle high class name but when you first read it people usually think of pet collars

Bretagne du Nuage 02-17-2011 06:20 PM

irish, french, danish, german, spanish, cherokee, and mexican apache.

Lunaryon 02-17-2011 06:43 PM

Echo-chan713 02-17-2011 06:51 PM

My first name is Irish (the way it's spelled is Gaelic) for pure I haven't checked my middle name yet

Jenny Harper 02-18-2011 04:03 PM

Welsh and Scottish. My Grandad is...oh sorry, was, Scottish and my Mother's side is Welsh born and bred. Though I think there is some French there because of my mother's maiden name.

On a spiritual level I am thinking I might have something a bit more in my family, because I have a knack for magic and fortune telling. But no-one has told me anything, so it's not official. XD

Echo-chan713 02-19-2011 01:13 AM

Why is Epsy envious

Feythfull 02-19-2011 08:07 PM

I am just a big mix German, French, English, Irish who knows what else is in there. . . Though I am just Canadian I haven't had any ancesters from any of those countries in generations.

BumbleBee 02-19-2011 10:00 PM

My name goes way to to the ancestors of the aku tribe

Toxicness 02-20-2011 01:00 AM

Dad is 100% African American + Mom is 100% Native American = Me 50% African american, 50% Native American.

With The Current 02-20-2011 01:28 AM

Mexican, Spaniard, Omaha Indian, and French...

Ashley 02-20-2011 01:36 AM

Hm I know that ancestors on my mom's side came from England to here(America) at some point. I looked it up and apparently there's a few different things it could mean: "The name was derived from the Old Norman name HEREWARD, and meant army-power.", could be named after a place it mentioned, etc.

For my mom's maiden name I found: "It is generally accepted as deriving from the personal name Nicholas, itself of Ancient Greek origins"

Seagullz 02-20-2011 06:18 AM

I am mostly Irish, with some Indian and German. You can tell that I have some sort of Irish in me because I have red hair and can drink like a fish :P

Lauv Keiko 02-20-2011 06:23 AM

@seagullz: XD that made me laugh

hm...my heritage.
well, I'm mostly filipino (Philippines)...but I have spanish, portuguese, and malaysian blood in me.

Aiko 02-20-2011 10:59 AM

I can't remember the exact percentage..
But first of all of course I am Danish (since I live in Denmark, and my family is Danish too x3)
And then there should be some Italian, Faeroe (Islands), German and Norwegian heritage too
Oh yeah and Gypsies too...

Absinthe 02-20-2011 09:32 PM

I am a Northern European Mutt ;D

Mostly Norwegian though, followed by Irish. I believe there's some German in there as well.

Haze 02-21-2011 01:25 PM

Half German half Croatian. * 3*
Mom's German and dad's Croatian. x3
I didn't even know Croatia existed until my dad gave me a little history on my family.

I'm suprised that they're still full blood native Americans around today

Reyoki 02-22-2011 01:07 PM

Irish, Scottish, German, and Native American. My mom is Irish/Native American, and my dad is Scottish/German. When my ancestors went to war, they stripped down naked and painted themselves blue!

Silverbleed 02-22-2011 01:34 PM

I've checked, and I'm officially 100% Dutch.

Taiania 02-22-2011 01:40 PM

I'm 75% Welsh, and 25% English. :)

Chickenbone 02-23-2011 02:17 PM

I am for the most part, Polish. My grandparents are from Poland and my other grandfather is half Native American... so I have a lot of both.~

Blitzkrieg 02-25-2011 02:20 PM

I am German, Czechoslovakian, Italian, Swiss, Native American, Austrian, and I think....Dutch?

.carmilla 02-25-2011 04:52 PM

I don't know my fathers side in the least bit so half of me is unknown. The other half is German, Hungarian and Dutch.
