Just an inquiry.. (I'm ALWAYS looking for more people!)
Hello, again. For those of you who have perhaps had the odd fortune of running across me before, I greet you once more and thank you for reading. My name is Rose, and also Forsaken.. Either will due, according to your preferences. Now, to business? I think so. You see, I'm looking for one, or two people to help me create, and MOD a role play. I'm open to many a thing, and willing to discuss. I've role played under every rating, and level of literacy. Please, don't be shy, no idea is below my expectations. I will post a few examples of my own, if it's desired of you, and am glad to meet your acquaintance. All due respects, Forsaken |
Do you have something that's inspiring you right now? Something you'd like to incorporate into a roleplay? A vision?
Also, if you'd like to see some samples and whatnot, I'm sure I can dig some up. So you can know my style. =P |
Mmm, inspiration..? I suppose a fair amount of mystery would be desired. Sort of a 'dream, withing a dream, within a dream' scenario. I do tend to get bored of modern settings, because romance takes over... Even in a romance RP, the romance shouldn't take over the whole plot. Layers, I guess, is what I mean... it should be three, to five dimensional. If there is sadness, there should be horror. If there is horror, there should be humor.. etc. And I fear I am only making sense to myself... :/ Please, do tell me if you're following me? I get a bit carried away. |
That made sense to me~
So, you want something with depth then? Not just "Oh, look, a male *jumps*" story over? XD |
So would you prefer a plot that's character or story driven?
I think as far as getting something that would best fit what you're describing would be a science fiction plot perhaps? Or maybe something in high or modern fantasy with a lot of background story. |
First off, my deepest apologies for not posting back sooner. My internet browser was not particularly fond of this site, for whatever reason. ~Hermes~ *chuckles* As far as romance goes, definitely. ~Zombie~ Hmmm... There should definitely be story to root it, but I think I'd prefer more character driven, so people will climb out of the routine shell and develop their character more thoroughly. |
O
M G Character Development *w* |
I feel the same way, Hermes.
Alright, as far as genres that I feel really inspired by right now, I can throw a few out as suggestions. Steampunk, Urban Fantasy, and Dark Mythology These are just some I feel like I have the most ideas for at the moment, but if you have a different genre or theme in mind, I am definitely open to helping with anything. Although, what you're describing kind of transcends genre, but you do have to have a starting point. |
I would 'second' your comment, Hermes, but I fear I must take third. Tsk tsk on my timing. Hehe Mmmm, however, delightful Miss Zombie, What type of mythology did you have in mind..? There are ever so many, after all. Greek? Asian? African..? It goes on, and on.. Into religious aspects, like Pagan, Wiccan (A branch off of the first), Christian, Islam.. It really does go on. Druid would be the hardest, I should think, though. |
Druids have no written history, and the oral history is fading, so yes, would be nearly impossible XD Hey, would yopu two wanna do a three-way Steampunk/Mythology RP? If so, I have ideas o.o
|
~Hermes~ Well, I don't see why not, dear. It sounds like fun. ^ ^ What have you to say, Miss Zombie? |
Yes. I like this idea. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I work with children, and some days they just suck all the enthusiasm and creative energy out of me. So I had to take a day or two to recoup and recollect. I'm definitely game for it now.
|
Okay, shall we brainstorm, or shall I zip out a plot?
|
Do you have some ideas? I am fresh out of anything really big but I can help fine-tune something if you don't have anything specific. ^_^;;
|
~Both, Hermes and Zombie~ Hmmm, perhaps, deciding what form of mythology would be wisest..? Or else, even, if we want to discriminate between them at all. |
Well, my favorites are Norse and Egyptian, I also love the myths of India. Or, and yes, I can do this, I can make a whole new Pantheon of gods, goddesses, etc.
|
What if we did a plot that involved traveling to different lands at different times to interact with different mythologies?
Like we could start in Egypt, re-connecting with their gods, and move on to another land after that? It would be a good way to stay open to all the different kinds of mythologies we might have a craving to play, but it wouldn't overwhelm us with having to incorporate them all at the same time. I'd kind of like to see it incorporate something like a corruption of some kind. Like the ancient gods have been enslaved or twisted by some kind of force. So we would have things like maybe a clockwork Horus or a steam-powered Zeus. Maybe they've been enslaved and experimented on by some group, and we're trying to restore them to their former power? I dunno, feel free to suggest something else. That was just an early idea. |
Have any of you played Titan Quest?
|
~Zombie~ I like the first one, a lot.^ ^ The second one is good, too though. It sort of gives me a Percy Jackson feel... I'm not sure why, since I'm quite the n00b on the PJ subject- I've only seen the movie. Small Suggestion~~~ A small, wimpy idea of my own... Perhaps narrowing it down to one specific, world-wide myth to which every mythology has an analogy and version? Combine all of those versions into a 'Universal Truth', or even Gospel, if you will, and it may turn into something quite enjoyable. ~Hermes~ No, I haven't, as a matter of fast. Pray tell, what idea have you deemed of it? |
Well, in titan Quest, you play this hero/group of heroes(If you play multiplayer) Who come to this small town, and you end up having to kill this monster for them. Well, a bunch of things lead you to Medusa's lair, and you end up getting enlightened to the fact that the Telkine have come back, and have begun to let Typhon, enemy of the gods, loose. You go through the Greek, Egyptian, and Chinese mythologies, coming to know of all the gods from these lands, then end up in Babylon, then you go to Olympus, etc.
|
Well, I can see Miss Zombie is not going to respond too soon, so I suppose we'll not know her views on the subject. As for mine, dear Hermes, that's actually quite the idea. And I like it. It's something I wouldn't have a mastery for via having played those parts for years now. It's fresh... How can we turn it into a RolePlay? |
