My Roommate is a Girl!? {Honor/June}
So this is a one on one roleplay between Juneberry (me) and Honor, involving a boy and girl at a boarding school. However... The girl is disguised as a boy, and the two are roommates!?
- - - - - Huffing a breath to force brown hair out of bright blue eyes, the boy walked down the hallway of the dormitory to find the room that he was to be using. His eyes glanced at a placard, which had a room number on it- the same as the one in the paper in his right hand. They matched, and thus his key worked when he opened the door. He gazed at the arrangement of the room, admiring the simplicity of it. The furniture was wood, including the bunk-bed, and the nearby door led to a personal shower for him and whoever was to be his roommate to use. "This should work out well, I hope." He smiled, taking a seat. He took a picture out of three people, framed in a simple wooden frame. One was a man tall and with light-brown hair. The boy in question sat with a slightly reddened face, his skin a bit tanner then he was at the moment. Next to him was a girl, long hair colored like the sky awkwardly hugging onto him. A note slipped out from the frame soon after, and so he read it. Dear Saya, Don't forget about me while you're away. I'm rooting for you to have fun at your new school. Stay safe, big brother! -Flutter He read the note aloud and stuffed it in his pocket, chuckling. "That girl is so strange sometimes." He looked out the open door. "I wonder what my roommate's like?" |
Dirty blonde hair tickled the new students face in an unfamiliar way as she walked up the stairs leading to her dorm. Her head felt lighter without the long silky strands of hair that once cascaded down her to her hips. The lights, harsh and florescent, caught the amber flecks in her dark brown eyes, giving them a the appearance of having been glazed over with gold dust.
Letting out heavy breath the girl who was not a girl looked down at the crumpled piece of paper in her hand. It confirmed that the door in front of her lead to where she would be staying at this new school. Quickly stuffing the paper into her pocket she pulled out her key, letting herself inside. On a normal day the first thing she would have noticed would be the nice wood furniture, the shower, and the bunk bed. Today, however, her eyes slide to the boy sitting in the room. The boy who would be her roommate. He was handsome and she realized if she were here as herself, Olivia Caulder, she would have been happy to flirt with him. She was not Olivia here. Here she was Oliver. Here she was a boy. She wondered what this boy would see when he looked at her. She had hidden her femininity as well as she could, but nothing could hide her face, to soft and delicate, and her eyes to wide and framed with naturally thick eyelashes. Would he see through her instantly? Was her being here useless after all? She took a breath. She needed to calm down. However prone to panic Olivia might have been, Oliver was calm. "Hey, I'm Oliver." She said in soft deep voice. She hoped the softness of her tone would disguise how unnatural the deepness sounded. She walked over, set down her stuff and held out her hand. |
((OOC: I can't tell if I should call your character a he and a she when I refer to her from Saya's point of view xD))
"Hey," Sayaku replied swiftly in return, looking up from his seat on a nearby chair. Standing up, he didn't seem to notice any femininity involved in the visual aspects of the boy- or who he assumed was a boy since it was his roommate- standing in his line of sight. Walking over swiftly, he held a slightly muscular hand out to him. The hand was slightly gruff, likely from years of hard labor or something similar- but it was still small, and proper compared to the size of its owner. A smile graced his face when he responded finally. "Name's Sayaku- though most people call me Saya. Nice to meet'cha, Oliver." His voice had some sort of accent to it- somewhat like a country bumpkin, but with the thick elegance found in a gentlemen from a sophisticated household. His free hand brushed hair out of his face again. "How do you do?" |
((OOC: I'd refer to her as a him ^^ ))
Olivia could feel the roughness of, the boy, Saya's hand as the shook. It was to her distinctly masculine. Her own hands were softer, more delicate. It had always been something she was proud of, often getting compliments about their silky feel. It seemed odd that her best trait as a girl would probably be a disadvantage to her as a guy. Men were strong. Men worked and got calluses. At least that was how it had been back home. Was it different here? "Saya." She repeated as he told her his name. It rolled off her tough easily, sounding smooth but a little too high. She cleared her throat. "I'm good, thank you." She said then hesitated before continuing, "This is my first time at a boarding school. Have you gone here long?" |
"First day, actually," He replied simply. He smiled simply, nodding to the other. "The school was recommended by one of my music teachers at the public school I went to, so I applied. I'm surprised I was able to get in." He chuckled a bit, looking at him curiously. "What drove you to come here?"
Recognizing the struggle he seemed to have with his voice, a slight chuckle escaped Sayaku's lips. "You don't have to worry about your voice with me, Oliver. It's not strange to have a high voice for some guys. Guys back in the village I grew up in had that happen sometimes- you shouldn't try to force it to change. You'll have trouble using your voice if you do it too much." He looked around the room for a moment once more curiously, then back at his roommate. "Relax. We should make ourselves at home since it's our room right?" |
Olivia's face reddened with chagrin. Well, at least she had a valid excuse for her voice now. Still, she would be careful. "I came for art program. It's the best nationwide. I'm surprised I got in too." She said, smiling. 'Yeah, especially because it's an all boys school.' She thought to herself.
"Yeah, we should relax. Which bed do you want?" She asked casually. It was becoming easier to be comfortable. After all, Oliver was guy. No reason for her roommate to think otherwise. She looked over the bunk bed, wondering which one she would prefer. Whichever one would make it easier to not be seen. She did not want to wear her chest bindings to sleep. She had a small chest, but not that small. |
"Um... I used to share with my sister so I got used to the bottom bunk. So if I had to choose, I'd say that." Walking to the bottom bunk, he put a bag of belongings nonchalantly onto it, glancing at a plain white pillow on one side. The picture frame fell from the bag's open pocket, along with a guitar pick. He laughed a bit, picking up his guitar pick and seeking his capo. "So this is where it was. I meant to put this in my guitar bag..." He went to the guitar case to put it away.
"So you're an artist, huh? What sort of art do you like to do? There are so many different art forms... I can't help but be curious." He grinned as he put away the things he had to, accidentally moving a string in his guitar, thus making a slight sound. He shook it off when adding, "I'd love to see your work sometimes. And don't worry, I won't practice here if it'll be too loud for you." |
Olivia's eyes followed the picture that had tumbled out of Saya's stuff. She recognized him in the picture though the other were foreign to her. His family, she assumed, or the girl could be his girlfriend.
"I do portraits mostly, well not exactly portraits, but you can be sure there is almost always a person or two involved. Don't worry about the playing. I like music, and if it gets annoying I'll just throw something at you." She smiled, shooting him a teasing look. Picking up her bag she had to stretch to get her stuff on her bunk. "Is the girl in the picture your girlfriend?" She asked him, glancing over at him as she made the final stretch onto her tip-toes pushing th bag upward. She had pictures of her own, but she hadn't dared bring any with herself in them. The resemblance was to much to simply claim the girl in the pictures as a sibling. |
"Kiddin' me? That's my little sister and our uncle. Sis and I grew up separately for a long time- that picture is from when I started living with them permanently." He chuckled, patting the picture. "Flute's a real strange one. She was always hiding when I was just visiting in the past... But she got comfortable with me over time like I did to her. She packed it with a note, actually. I didn't even know she could write all the sudden."
Sayaku heard her joke and laughed, shaking his head. "I could hear you just telling me if it's annoying you, but throwing something'll work well too. Just make sure it's not a pillow- I won't notice it. Too many goats have been rowdy for me to notice them." A smile managed his features as he sat on the lower bunk, looking at him. "Portraits, huh? I'd like to see one. Whether it's 'not exactly' a portrait or not, it's still pretty cool to me." |
Olivia grinned and hoisted herself up onto her bunk. She sat on the edge, legs swinging in a rather carefree manner. "Oh, don't worry, I'm sure I could find a brick to throw at you somewhere." She flashed him her toothy grin once again before leaning back to rummage through her pack. She pulled out a small canvas, roughly the size of a simple notebook and held it out to him.
It was simple picture in a way, only containing three colors: black, silver and a soft baby blue. In it a little girl seemed to be covered with star dust, eyes wide and full of wonder. It wasn't one of her best pictures, but it had won her her first school art contest so she kept it as a good luck charm. |
Taking a hold of the canvas, he let his eyes glance over it carefully, trying to take in each detail. A deep sigh of content escaped him as he looked up at the other guy, holding it out again. "This is really good. I've never seen something quite like this. Just three colors, right? I don't think I could ever make something like this with three colors...Three chords, not three colors." He smiled, getting up and taking out his guitar.
"Don't laugh at my horrible singing voice okay?" He smiled a cocky grin of sorts before taking the guitar out, putting a capo on the higher-area of the strings. Carefully taking his pick in hand, he sat down on the floor and began to strum three chords in a variety of times and pitches. It was a simple melody, which he used to sing some sort of old folk song in a foreign language. His key was fair, but at some points his voice would crack. He was a guitarist, after all- not a singer. When he finished, he looked at him, curiously. He put the guitar beside him, standing up soon after. "It's an old song from my village in Norway. I made the melody on my own, but the song itself has been around for centuries... Do you think I did a good job?" |
She smiled at his praised, pleased the piece was to his liking. She almost started to explain about how she'd won with it and it had served as a good luck charm, but all of those thoughts were lost when he started playing.
The first note sent it's musical vibration from her ear to the rest of her. She felt this music. It was so different from hearing the guitar on recordings combined with other instruments. She didn't understand the song but she soaked up the lyrics anyway, enjoying the way they sounded in the unfamiliar tongue. She hardly noticed when he stopped playing to caught up in the notes that still played in her head, long after their creating had stopped playing. When she caught his curious gaze, however, she returned from her mind to reality. "It was amazing. I never realized how amazing a live guitar sounded." She told him honestly. ((OOC: I gotta go, bed time for me ^_^ I'll be on tomorrow though)) |
((No problem. You don't have to worry about telling me when you have to go unless you'll be gone for a looong time. I can wait otherwise :3))
"I never knew as a kid why people talked about recordings 'cause at home it was uncommon." Sayaku nodded, keeping his gaze from leaving his new friend. "I always loved music, so it's probably why I spend so much time with it. It's a great outlet, a lot like art that way. I guess if you think about it...Music and art are fairly similar. They are outlets, and... While music is an art-form, in a way art can be musical. And I don't mean by painting an orchestra..." He chuckled. "You know what I mean, Olive? Er...Oliver?" His laughter became somewhat nervous. He was so used to shortening names- he had forgotten to ask first!" |
((Alright ^^ ))
Olivia was caught by his gaze as he spoke. His eyes were a very nice blue, she noted, wondering about the many things she could do with such a color. Perhaps he would would let her paint him one day.The name Olive had taken her by surprise, as she was often called such back home, but wasn't it a bit to girly for a boy to be called? Still she liked it, and if Saya saw nothing wrong with calling a boy that she would not protest. "Olive is fine. I'm often called that back home." "I agree. I've used art as an outlet as long as I can remember. It's also good for recording memories. Once when I was little I got into a car accident, bonked my head pretty good and ended up forgetting a lot about the year before. After that every time I could remember even the littlest bit I would paint it. I eventually remembered everything again, but you can bet my room was filled with paintings of the most random things." She said, then let out a laugh, remembered one in which she had painted herself staring very intently at a goldfish. |
"We all have little nicknames use no matter where we're from, I think. Some people like it and some hate it, though." His smile stayed the same as he leaned back on the lower bed, arms stretching easily behind his head. Staring at the bottom of the upper bed, he closed his eyes before opening one just out of habit. "Just so you know... I fall asleep pretty early. It's become habit for me. So... Don't worry about me if I fall asleep early at night 'kay? Just stay up as you need to and sleep when you need to."
He thought about the things the other boy told him. He couldn't imagine forgetting a whole year- even a portion of it seemed like such a distant idea. "I can't imagine how that must've felt... It's good that you remembered later on. I think painting things probably helped keep the memories coming back... They say that one memory leads to another, right?" |
Olivia nodded, and then swung her legs onto her bed, letting her head fall back against the pillow. "I'm a bit of a night owl myself. Inspiration always tends to strike me just as I lay down for sleep. It's the reason most of my pj's are splattered with bits of paint." She laughed a little and then realized that wasn't a true statement, at least not here. Her old, feminine pajamas were splattered with paint. Her new, distinctly male, ones were not.
She smile, remembering her paintings. "Sometimes I would remember dreams I had. Those paintings were really crazy. I remember one were I was sitting on a giant purple gum ball." She grinned. It had been such a pretty purple color. |
"Sitting on a giant gum ball?" He looked up at the top bunk again, pondering the very thought. "I've never had quite such an interesting dream. Sounds nice to have such a unique one like that. My most memorable dreams are getting rammed by...well...Rams." He chuckled a bit- those counted more as memories then as dreams, but they did tend to come in his sleep as well. Rams just happened to hate him. "Don't know if you could believe how strong one of those fellas are."
Sayaku dug through his bag with one hand, finding an old piece of paper with a poorly drawn music staff. On it was a tune of peculiar and uncommon note structures, and a title written on the top in his native tongue. "I dream about music sometimes. When I remember the tune, I write it down... Though sometimes I'm in a rush when I do, so it looks pathetic like this one." He chuckled, holding out the written notes. "I tend to just name them 'dream tune one' or 'dream tune two' unless the dream involves a title." |
She twisted and leaned over the bunk to take the sheet of paper. She smiled at it, having only a slight bit of knowledge pertaining to the actual composition of music the notes on the paper seemed to be in a foreign, though recognizable, language. She ran her hand along it, smoothing the paper, wondering what sound the notes would make when put into practice.
Twisting again, she held the paper out to Saya. "I don't speak music." She said smiling. "At least not on paper, but I'm sure it's good, if what you played earlier is any indication of your skills." Olivia gazed down at this boy who was her roommate. It was a strange concept, one she had had difficulty accepting before coming here. If she was completely honest with herself she had been a little scared. Saya, however seemed to be a considerable improvement of what she had expected. They seemed on their way of becoming fast friends, which she was glad for. Being alone here would be torture. "Are you excited for tomorrow? You know, first day and all." She asked him. |
"I'll play it later probably. This was a recent one after all." He chuckled, taking the paper back and putting it away again. "I guess I only know how to 'speak' music when it's on paper 'cause I've had a lot of practice. But I'll tell ya, this tune is one really weird bit..."
Sayaku was relieved to have a roommate he could connect with. Having spent most of his life either in his own room or in a room with his sister, the relief of having another male in the room was much to be excited for. After all- if it had been a co-ed school and he'd had a girl for a room mate, there was no doubt he'd survive only a moment before anxiety approached him. "Tomorrow is bound to be exciting, though likely a little boring since it's all introductions from what I can guess. But still... I'm excited to start a new chapter here y'know? So I guess I am sorta excited too. What about you?" |
"I'm... nervous. Excited too, but mostly nervous." She said, staring at wall beside her. She traced nonexistent patterns against it's smooth surface. What would it be like? She could imagine being surrounded completely by men. The thought made her want to shrink away and go back to were she came from, but she was here for a reason. This was the only school in the area that could teach her what she wanted about art. This school had a reputation for spouting out the best artist of this century. She would be one of them.
As her eyes examined the wall they stopped at a dark spot. It was small and seemed strangely to extend off the wall. Her hand reached out as if to touch it before her brain made sense of what she was seeing. Spider. With that she bolted up with sharp yelp and slid down from her bed onto Saya's. The action had been all instinct, never did she think about how her actions would be perceived until she looked at Saya. "Oh. Um." She cleared her throat. "A spider." She said, trying to sound nonchalant. |
"What's a spider doing in here?" He got off his bed and climbed slightly to look over the top bunk, seeing the spider for his own eyes. He picked the spider up with his bare hand, wrapping it lightly in a handkerchief he had in his pocket. Putting the handkerchief on a windowsill he was lucky to notice, he opened the window only to let the spider out. He then closed it again.
"That was weird. There don't seem to be anymore, so no need to worry." He smiled over to Oliver, stretching his arms and leaning back. "You don't have to worry- It's outside now so it can't cause trouble. Spiders make you nervous, huh?" He looked over at the boy before looking up at the boy's bunk. "It's good you brought it up. Better to be safe then sorry, right? But that looked like a normal daddy long-legs. They won't hurt anyone...But they're an eyesore anyway." |
There was no suspicion with this boy. He seemed to trust the fact that she was a male. He didn't even mock her for being afraid of spiders. A very stereotypical thing for a girl to be. Olivia let out a breath and put on a rueful smile. He was a perfect roommate.
She watched him as he smiled at her and stretched, her eyes lingering on his face for too long before she looked away and shook her head and laughed. She brushed hair away from her face. "I am a wimp." She declared, grinning over at him. |
"Don't see how a fear of spiders makes you a wimp. Everyone's afraid of somethin' Olive. My sister's terrified of water, I get extremely nervous when it comes to girls... We all have things we can't handle. Being afraid is normal. I've never met someone who's afraid of nothing."
He smiled over at him, giving a simplistic smile. "I grew up in a small village in Norway. Back home, it's normal to know what others are afraid of and makes them uncomfortable. We use that knowledge to help them as friends and to also know how not to cause trouble. Little kids might play a prank but no one would get frustrated by it 'cause we know they're just being kids. Everything was simple...So I guess my views are naturally simple too." |
Olivia's eyebrows raised dramatically and before she could think it through the surprised question had already left her mouth. "Girls make you nervous? Why?" Instantly she wanted to clamp her hand over her mouth and never speak again. He had just let her fear of spiders go without any mocking and her she was being surprised of his own fear. She had to admit it was rather ironic, considering how easily he could converse with her.
"What I mean is, you don't seem like the kind of guy who would be." She said, attempting to cover her folly. Though it was true, he was very nice, not to mention nice looking. She would have assumed he talked to girls all the time. |
"I've had bad luck with girls, even in the village." Sayaku confessed simply. "My best friend as a kid was a girl. But...She was more like a guy so no one really worried as much about how she played rough. But as we grew older, her femininity grew more obvious. Heck, I'd even confessed to her. But... We were practically like siblings. Which is why when she was troubled she came to me." He sighed. "However she'd grown violent over the years too. She started to use me as a punching bag. She'd cry and apologize after but... I sorta couldn't handle it that long. And she's the first, not the last..."
He let out a deep sigh. He wasn't against saying his own problems, since he felt he could trust the other boy in question. "It may be an uncommon fear but... When you get used as a punching bag for girls often, you sorta try to keep away from them after. I had the same problem with goats for a while too. But I sorta decided it wasn't just me goats did that to so it was okay." |
Olivia laughed. "I don't know about goats, but as for girls well... not all of them are so very... violent." She stood and walked over to were he stood by the window. The irony of the situation was truly something. Here he stood, conversing about being nervous around girls to girl. Only he didn't know it. She wondered how he would react if he did.
She gazed at his face for a while, seeing the challenge that was presented before her. Wouldn't it be something if she could cure him of this phobia? Who else could be better than a girl he believed was a guy? "All it takes is practice, really." |
"I tried practicing with my sister but...Well, even if it took a while and I did manage to get close enough to her... I can't handle other girls very well still," He admitted simply. "I can talk to them, but I always get nervous. So I tend to try not to get too close."
((Sorry this post stinks :c)) |
"Practice with me." Again the words were out before she really thought them through. "Ah, I mean I could act like a girl and you could see how well you could talk with me." She said as she ran her fingers through her hair. "I think I can play a very convincing girl." She said with a sly grin as she laughed inwardly at her private joke.
It was risky to act like a girl in front of him, but from what she had seen she believed he would simply think she was a very good actor. ((No worries ^^)) |
"So you're an actor too?" He looked at him curiously. "I may take you up on that offer... But I should probably wait for now. If you're too convincing it'd be hard to share the room now wouldn't it? I may have shared a room with my sister, but it was strange considering it's not proper. That and she couldn't sleep if I was in there anyway..." He laughed, grinning over at the other boy. "You're quite a renaissance person though, if you can act and do art the way you can..."
|
Olivia laughed, though his words struck something in her. She was going to be sharing a room with a boy. He would sleep right bellow her. It was so close, and it would be easy for him to discover that 'he' was most certainly not a he. These were things she had known before, but now it was very, very real.
Instead of letting her mind go to far on that subject she decided to tease Saya. "Am I going to have to worry about you sneaking into my bed at night then?" She said, grinning to let him know she was only kidding. "Not renaissance, I just have a lot of sisters." She siad, which was not a lie. She just didn't mention the fact that there were only girls in her family. |
"How many in your family, if I may ask?" He looked at his room mate curiously. "And don't worry. I'll likely fall asleep before you anyway. So if anyone had to sneak into someone's bed, you'd be sneaking into mine. But, seeing as you likely haven't a reason to, we should be fine."
Chuckling, he took out some paper and drew a slightly neater music staff then before. His hand scribbled notes aimlessly on the paper, words being written underneath the lines. "In my family it's just me and my sister in terms of kids. Mom and dad still live in Norway, so at the moment sis is living with some friends. Though the village is like family, they're not literally family in the end. But if I include them I have a lot of siblings too." |
Olivia laughed and went over to sit on his bed. "As nice as your bed might be, I think I'll stick to my own." She said, though contrary to her words leaned back, her legs dangling over the edge. 'What a strange conversation to have with a roommate.'She mused to herself.
"I have five sisters, all older than me. I'm the baby of the family. I live with my mom and dad and three of my sisters. The other two are off living their lives. One is in college across country and the other is newly engaged." She said, smiling as she remembered them. What would they think if they knew what she was doing now? |
"My guess is that's just for sleeping. Since you're already on my bed now." He laughed, just glancing at the other curiously. He leaned back slightly to lift his legs, crossing them under him for better comfort and an easier place to write on the paper.
"That's a big family. I don't know anyone else with a family like that... I've met people with three at most, maybe four, but never six children. Must be nice and lively though, I'll bet. Sort of like back home in that way. It was always lively. Just with animals like chickens and goats and cows." |
Olivia grinned at him from her sitting position. "Mmhmm." She agreed with his observation. "Yeah, we're a bit of an anomaly even were I live. But it's nice in a way. I always have family I can count on." She said with a soft smile. She loved her family.
She stared over at him, watching his hand as he wrote. She liked the way it moved. "I've never seen a real goat before." She said with a laugh, trying to imagine what Saya's life had been like before. |
"They're not what anyone would normally call cute, but they do have their own charm. Don't make them angry and you're fine. Well, usually." He laughed a bit, putting the paper down for a moment and turning to look at his new friend- or who he'd call that anyway. "Goats are easy to anger. They're very aggressive too. But, on the other side, they do produce great milk."
Chuckling again, he nodded as he thought about what she'd said regarding her family. "No matter how big your family is, it's good to have a family you can count on. I know I can always count on my family too, even if we are all separate and small in numbers. Mom's always there for me and Sis will be too, even if she's hard to understand sometimes. At least I know who to turn to when I need help with math..." |
She grinned. "Remind me to never anger a goat then." She said with a laugh. She looked at Saya as he looked it her. It was strange, they'd know each other for maybe a few hours and already she was thinking of him as her friend. Strange how those things happened.
She stood then, breaking eye contact. "Well, it's getting a little late, so um, I'll go shower first unless you wish to." She said grabbing her bag and then hesitating. |
"You go on ahead. I showered just before coming here so I'm still clean. I'm sorta tired too, so I'm thinking of hittin' the haystack for now." He moved his bag out of his way and laid back on the mattress, his head leaning on the pillow as he waved his friend off. "Take your time and enjoy the shower. Make sure to get some rest too. It's gonna be a big day tomorrow, after all."
|
"'Kay, night." She said, grabbing her bag of clothes and toiletries and walking into the bathroom. It was small, but not uncomfortably so. Locking the door behind her she took off her clothes and stepped into the shower. The hot water felt heavenly against her skin and helped to work some of the stress form her muscles. She scrubbed her hair squeaky clean with shampoo smelling of coconuts. The sent was one familiar thing among many mysterious unknowns. It brought her comfort. Her still felt much to short, however, and she knew it would be a long time before she got used to it.
Stepping out of the showered she dried off and dressed in a pair of sweat pants and a large t-shirt. Taking her towel and rubbing steam off her mirror she looked at herself. Besides the hair cut the face she saw looked as familiar as ever. She was still Olivia, despite masquerading as Oliver, that would never change. After towel drying her hair she gathered her things up and was a about to go out, but stopped just before she opened the door. Instead of walking right out she opened the door just a crack to see if Saya had fallen asleep. |
Sayaku hadn't fallen asleep as quickly as he'd expected, so rather stared up at the top bunk for a while. His eyes grazed every grain of the wood, trying to figure out any patterns he could see- something he'd gotten good at doing as a child. Though his imagination wandered only slightly, he mostly kept himself humming for a while when his roommate had gone into the bathroom.
Overtime, the humming ceased, and he was silent, eyes soon closed heavily upon slumber. He had never changed, and laid sprawled out on his bed in his normal black t-shirt and jeans, one foot hanging over the side of the bed in the end, hair covering part of his face due to having gotten too comfortable. He was sound asleep- not a sound would be able to wake him up, it looked like. |
Upon seeing Saya's motionless body a tiny smile formed on Olivia's lips. He really was the best roommate she could ask for. Silently she crept back into the room and put her stuff away. Before climbing onto her bunk she stood and looked at her new friend.
His face seemed relaxed and at peace as he slept, though she had yet to see it particularly troubled so she wasn't sure how different it would be if he were. Carefully, with a feather light touch, she swept the hair from his face, hoping he would be more comfortable that way. She turned, but paused again before getting on her bunk. He wasn't using a blanket. It worried her that he might get cold. As silently as she could she retrieved her spare blanket and laid it over him. Satisfied, she got on her bunk, closed her eyes, and drifted off blissfully. |
