An Open Letter to Trisphee

Dear Trisphee members,

We would like to take the time to apologize for the slow updates as of late. As some of you might be aware, we are extremely short-staffed, and our previous attempts to recruit new staff members didn't go as well as we had anticipated. We are still in need of pixel artists and coders, this has been one of the reasons the evolving items have been slow, and why we haven't had an event yet. (We would have had one, but all our efforts were redirected to the Japanese disaster.) This is why the staff as a whole seem tense.

We are in urge users with programming experience or skill in pixel art to come forward and apply, to help make our wonderful community here at Trisphee thrive and expand. We would love to have an incredible event ready before classes are let out, so that there's things to do here when summer vacation rolls around, and we want to be ahead of the game on making new and exciting items. For those who are interested in applying please go to http://trisphee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3624 to find the information you will require, and see if you have what it takes to make a diffrence.

We would also like to hear what you, the users want to see. What items are you interested in? What kind of items do you think the site is lacking in? Thank you for helping us, create a better Trisphee, for the members we have at the moment, and also for the Trisphee members of the future.

Thank you for your patience,
Coda

If I had any talent in pixeling, I'd offer a hand to help. I've only done some coding, during college when I took two classes for web developing / coding / design. But I don't think I learned up to the level you're probably looking for.

I wish you folks good luck in finding people you need for these spots to be filled.

As for items, not sure. Besides some kind of Keyblade based item. >> << *nudgenudgewinkwink*

I never knew things were this bad?

Feythfull 04-02-2011 08:36 PM

if i knew how to pixel i would definalty help you out

Yuki 04-02-2011 08:49 PM

Oh and about items, I agree on KH based stuff. Knock offs or not, anything that gives you the square enix feeling. More hair, hair is always good. Any hair but especially spiky ones. More simple clothes, but not too simple. Simple designs like dots, stripes and stars. Male clothing in general. Stuff that are realistic but also weird cool stuff to please us anime nerds.

I'd like to see more Victorian era styled clothing. Mostly to go with my Ciel Phantomhive mule. xD Plus I really like Victorian era styled clothing a lot.

That's good too. There's so much you can do with it too.

We were trying to keep people's spirits up before during our recruitment drive. A sense that the site isn't making progress is overall bad for everyone. But we've come to the conclusion that if we want to make Trisphee thrive, we have to push harder, and that means being honest about what's going on so we can get people helping out instead of thinking "someone else will do it."

Yuki 04-02-2011 09:08 PM

I think there has been lots of updates though, nobody is expecting the site to become Gaia in one year. lol We've gotten many items, especially. Which is important.

Immamoonkin 04-02-2011 09:10 PM

Yuki, I wish other people felt that way, but there are even threads on this site talking about people leaving or inactive. Constant complaints about how our items look, and the site being "too boring."

Yuki 04-02-2011 09:19 PM

Well everything could need improvements. Don't see it was bad feedback even if it feels like you've wasted time for nothing. Every site has to start out like this. If I had to choose, I'd say that I'm satisfied rather than unsatisfied. And I'm not trying to flatter anyone here. But yes, things can always be better.

Duchess 04-02-2011 09:21 PM

As I've said before, I'm here for the people. I was on Trisphee before the avatars and I'll be here after the avatars as long as the people stay decent.

I do wish to join staff.. but obviously my age is a terrible setback. All I can do is sit and hope for the best.

Panda 04-02-2011 09:38 PM

I would love to see better layout and more original. That mean taking off some of the stuff we don't need on the site that was given to us from the original forum. What I am trying to say is that we need to make everything from scratch.

Probably not going to happen anytime soon, but I can dream.

Duchess 04-02-2011 09:42 PM

Ohhh Like instead of just customizing the vBulletin default.. have something more different.

I'm for that.. but it'll require getting someone good at design and layouting

Panda 04-02-2011 09:43 PM

Yes yes, what you said. :D

Something more original and creative and something new and fresh.

Yuki 04-02-2011 09:45 PM

We also need some games, games! I'd love a game or two. How hard would it be to make a little arrow shooting other arrows? Or something like that. Yeah, that would be fun. I'm not a tetris person.

Panda 04-02-2011 09:47 PM

I don't really want any games, to be honest. :3 I never play the game anyway and it doesn't really help much or anything. Plus there are so many games out there that I can play on the internet.

When this site have games, my school is most likely going to block Trisphee like all the other avatar sites that got games on it.

Duchess 04-02-2011 09:48 PM

I can only do Dress up games... OTL.. And interactive stuff in Flash.

I'm pretty adept at learning languages tho. I'm learning AS3 atm.. So I'm sure i can do flash games. *nods*

I have a friend who does plat-formers in flash. I can make one of those. =O

Yuki 04-02-2011 09:49 PM

I just think it would be nice to give people an option to earn some dough. I'm not talking about becoming an millionaire here. :/

Panda 04-02-2011 09:50 PM

It will be nice, if they give a good amount of aurums for playing it. I still think posting will give you more though, because there probably is going to be a limit on how many time you can play in a day. :] I guess it is nice for some people that don't want to go to other sites to play a game or two.

Duchess 04-02-2011 09:51 PM

New users are intimidated by forums.. I know I was when I first went on Gaia.

Games can sorta break the ice. Esp, if there's a chat bar at the side.

Coda 04-02-2011 09:51 PM

Actually most of the layout ISN'T the default vBulletin theme anymore for the parts of the site that matter. We've got a few things left over in the forum/thread screens and we haven't changed a lot of the supplemental pages, but we've done a LOT of customization.

Yuki 04-02-2011 09:51 PM

I just think it makes sense for an avi site to have some games.

Coda 04-02-2011 09:52 PM

Games are on the list.

Yuki 04-02-2011 09:53 PM

Good to hear.

@Panda:
What do you mean by they don't really help? If you mean by earning currency, I find that kind of odd. o.o Games always help me out on a lot of avatar sites, especially when there is nobody online to talk to during certain times. There is one site though where they've actually lowered their gold max on what you can earn per day on your account (and your only one mule allowed), which makes it a bit more difficult to earn gold on their site.

http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/z...keyblade-1.png

Panda 04-02-2011 09:58 PM

Sora, wow you must be really into the games then. I guess, it depend on who you are on an avatar site. For me, it never help or make any different for me to notice and I never really play them. It can also be the fact that I always have a bunch of money on me and don't see the point in playing them as they only give a tiny bit of money from playing.

Yuki 04-02-2011 10:00 PM

But for some people games are a life saver. They are for me, on another site.

Sora 04-02-2011 10:01 PM

http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...ts/2j1qtxs.png

I learned to get into the games on some sites because you don't get a lot of currency from posting around (unless you're in several role plays at the same time, which means you'd be posting paragraphs after paragraphs). Though sadly, some of those sites have a max limit. Like Ernya's is at 750g per account (meaning you can get on your mules and play some more and still gain up to 750g on those too - but they also have a mule limit too).

I always find myself on the poor side with currency on these sites, so games are kind of my best friend. xD;

http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/z...keyblade-1.png

Panda 04-02-2011 10:02 PM

Even if games give me a lot of money, I'm still not going to play it. I'm not into games, it is more boring for me than chatting with people. XD That is just me.

Anonymous Kitsune 04-02-2011 10:08 PM

1: Lack of people joining
2: Lack of "Eye Catching" Layout/Color's of Everything.
3: Lack of Experienced Pixel Artists
4: Lack of Artists in General

Those are what i think in order is whats needed.
Trisphee has many items already and its still a new site.
But that isnt a major issue...
Competition with other avatar sites is whats making things "boring"
People join because they expect the unique-ness to be outrageous.

Ya an event would be nice, but whats after that?
Everyone leaves and doesnt check back here
until they notice an event is going on.

This is just my opinion.

Panda 04-02-2011 10:09 PM

Actually, I agree with Anonymous 100%. We really need more active users.

Anonymous Kitsune 04-02-2011 10:16 PM

Construction of the front page is the FIRST thing people see...
Without the BANG of the front page, trisphee in my opinion is going no where towards the success thats wanted/expected. The little things are what matter the most when wanting to attract the eye of the people... Items are not an issue, there are far too many for a new site.

Panda 04-02-2011 10:19 PM

Yes, eye catching front page is a win win. I always like going to a site that have great front page with amazing details and information. Something colorful and something that show the beauty of the site. Something that include all kind of information but then leave out some great stuff for later.

Anonymous Kitsune 04-02-2011 10:24 PM

Exactly, the front page art is great.
But for me personally thats what i look at when i come to a new avatar site.
Avatar sites are going to be judged based off appearance
and Trisphee right now is being judged off as "Boring" .
Trisphee needs to find/construct and find that "Bang!"

Sora 04-02-2011 10:27 PM

http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...ts/2j1qtxs.png

I honestly judge by the way the bases and items look when I find avatar sites I haven't joined yet. xD; If a base isn't that great looking in my opinion, I don't stick around a lot. I still join, just because I tend to love avatar sites, but I don't stick around a lot like I would with other sites that I think the pixeling is nicer. But once I've joined, it's the activeness that sink me in more.

http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/z...keyblade-1.png

Anonymous Kitsune 04-02-2011 10:29 PM

Again, being based off Appearance is important.

Panda 04-02-2011 10:31 PM

The only reason I'm still here is mostly because of the users on here. The rest, I don't really care at all. Being honest, I don't care anymore about items, avatar, how the site look, and everything else. I really care most right now is the users I got to know and share my experiences with.

I left other avatar sites because I don't have a lot of people who actually care for me and so many drama going on. It would be nice to see some great changes going on though but even that won't change anything much. I just love Trisphites!

Fenris 04-02-2011 11:42 PM

We do want Trisphee to have that bang, the problem is having the people to code the bang to get it done. Which is why we are trying to say. We are in desperate need of help.

Tarrek 04-02-2011 11:43 PM

I would LOVE to see some lightsabers. Maybe some normal weapons too. Swords and axes and staffs and such. And not just super cool looking expensive stuff either. Some basic, simple, cheap weaponry would be awesome.
