What do ya'll think of the twilight saga movies?

okay what do ya'll think of the twilight saga movies compared to the book? ya can hate it, like it, or hate to disagree, give me your opinions.... as for me i love the books i have them all but i can truly say i like the movies but i seperate them from the books, for the fact that the movie kills the main special highlights of each book. like when bella touches edwards hand in the cafeteria and notices that they are freezing cold in the twilight book but in the movie it happens in the car pfst... that was a hightlight of the book that killed it for me...

Delicious Nightmare 04-16-2011 11:32 AM

I think the books are better then the movie way better then the movie. I like them both. But not my most fave.

Feythfull 04-16-2011 09:19 PM

The movies are ok good enoug for me to buy but they are pretty much nothing compared to the books. I could hardly put the books down the movies are good for a laugh cuz they are so corny.
But I don't like any of the people that they chose to play any of the characters. Not what I imagines at all. Carlisile (how ever you spell this name Dr. Cullan) is the best then alice though she should be cuter and smaller in my opinion. Oh how could I forget about Jacob that was a good casting HOTNESS!!! Can't wait for the last movie! I wanna shee how they make Bella look when she is Pregos and how they do Renesme.

Madam Kira 04-17-2011 02:45 AM

Books are just about always better than the movies. The movies killed the Twilight series. I was very disappointed in it. Carlisle, Jacob, Emmet, and Alice, were really the only people they got right in the movies.

yari 04-17-2011 08:35 AM

i know but the truth i hate bellas' character no emotion but i myself could not put down the book as for the movie watched it once and that was good enough as for the book read them 3 times :D

agree

Serra Britt 04-17-2011 09:42 AM

As my friend called the Twilight movies, they are a "tossed salad" tasty but not fulfilling ;) Also the fact that they just took seemingly random parts of the books and threw them together for the movies whether they had the most relevance or not. I don't think they are bad, Carlisle and Alice are very yummy looking after all but they didn't capture me the way the books did.

Jack Pillow Button 04-23-2011 07:12 AM

I've just watched the movies, and I think they're... just fine. I've heard a lot about the meanings from other people and that they like the books much better than the movies. In my book shelf there's located the first book, in English of course. I haven't read it yet, but I think I will. My opinion is: I kind of liked the movies, but it's not the best I've seen. ☆

Fizzyology 04-24-2011 12:19 AM

As always, a book will be better done then their movie counterparts.

I personally just thought the acting in the movie was terrible and I couldn't help but laugh at it. The books are ok, but I'm certainly not some obsessive fan girl lol.

I loved vampires before the obsession kicked in thank you lol

CupcakeDolly 04-30-2011 04:39 AM

Hate them. Hate them all.

The first book sucked me in, and I'll admit that I was crazed for a while. Then the second book came out, and it was strangely unsatisfying. Then as each book came out after, I read them with the simple hope that they would get better again. And they didn't. And they kept getting worse until the last book, which was one gigantic anti-climax.

I haven't even seen the movies. I've heard they're exponentially worse than the books, and I don't even see how that can be possible.

Give us back non-sparkly vampires.

Sarah 05-18-2011 02:08 AM

I like the movies... I wasn't into reading anymore since i knew about Twilight. I tryed to read it once from the library but couldn't get into it.. not that it wasn't interesting but, I just don't really like books anymore. :c plus i'm slow if i were to read something now, it would take me forever. so i'd have to buy it. but i don't wanna buy it.. lol.

Jurinjo 05-18-2011 01:43 PM

I agree with Feythful about liking the movies just because they were so corny xD However I will admire the team who put the whole thing together. In the amount of time they chucked those things out the movies had a rather good quality! ...However I have only seen 1 and 2. Also Jurinjo as read the first book out of curiosity during the height of Twilight Fans crazed squealing. Easy book to ready I finished it in 3 hours with little effort since I was kind of watching Avatar the last Airbender at the same time. It was especially enjoyable to just laugh at Bella xD Which I did...a lot.

(。◕‿◕。) I haven't seen them and I don't plan on it
either. Sparkly vampires is a disgrace to
the traditional vampires. I love the old
style vampires not the new ones that
sparkle and are wimps beyond belief.

zombiefluff 05-20-2011 12:06 AM

I don't think I can honestly say that I've "seen" twilight. I've merely spent a few hours waiting for scenes in which wolfies appear so I can commence with the drooling and love gushing.

Azrael 05-20-2011 12:54 AM

I... hate them both. Quite a bit to be entirely honest. I have an extremely difficult time stomaching the movies, though. Too corny and... ugh. ~shudder~ The actors also... yeah, just... no. Except Jacob. Only reason I have even seen the movies is Jacob.

Taiki 05-20-2011 01:04 AM

lol Az. xD I only watched the movies for Alice. >o>

I've never read the books but I thought they way Edward acted in the first movie was really creepy. @o@ The 2nd movie wasn't as bad... but those are the only ones I've seen. xD

Batty 05-21-2011 10:46 AM

I've read all the books, and seen all the movies.

In my personal opinion, theres far too much hype over it all. I mean, while I was reading the books, I enjoyed them. But then after I had gone and re-read them... <.<; Not so much. Edward is a tad over possessive,[to the point where he actually stalks the girl, and not in the good way] Jacob is just OBsessive , Bella ... honestly? She's freaking self centered... the rest of the characters I'm alright with. Even Rosalie. Because she has a reason to be bitchy.

The first movie was done HORRIBLY. Catherine Hardwicke was going for "documentary style filming"... why? I have no idea. The second movie was better, because it had a better director, but they kept the same screen writer, so even though the visuals got better, the dialogue didn't. Same with the third movie. I will say this, though.. I'm interested to see where they take breaking dawn, and how they're gonna make it so the movie isn't rated-R.

Lunaryon 05-27-2011 03:27 PM

Well... I read the books, The first time I thought they were good... But then I read them again... And I noticed the writing and characterization. Nearly all of the characters were really boring and flat. The movies also had glaring issues. In the first movie, theres a scene where Bella is riding on Edward's back. You could see Edwards feet at the bottom of the scene... I could actually see the wire that was pulling him along.

Mizeria 05-28-2011 01:29 AM

I loved the books. It took me a long time to read the, because there are to many fans of them for my taste... Someone always agrees with what you have to say about them. I know friends that are not friends anymore from stupid shit like that so I tend to stay away... but back to the put. I read them during my finals week in college. Finished all of them in 2 1/2 days, and I've been meaning to re-read them. I fear like the two posts above me that if I re-read it I'll hate it. Not cause of what they said but because when I read them they were... "predictable" "just another vamp book series" "boring for large portions of the books"

And the movies... oh honey the movies should just burn. Cause they are no where NEAR as good that the predictable vamp books. But then, movies from books NEVER are. But there are those people that don't read... at all. And I find it sad but I live for the next story. So the movies are made for people like that. And for those people they might be good enough.
The only good thing that came out of that was to see Taylor's body >///>
And no, I'm not team whoever. I don't give a damn... but he's got a good body...

Serra Britt 05-28-2011 12:17 PM

I'll be honest. I loved the Twilight books. XD However a friend of mine hates them and has a T-shirt that says "and then Buffy staked Edward. The End." And I love that T-shirt too. XDD

I don't agree fully with Mizeria, some movies made from books are fairly decent (to me) it's just hard to compare them to the books because with books you can almost always visualize something better than anything they can put in a movie :3

Ashley 05-28-2011 01:38 PM

I liked the books more than the movies. I liked breaking dawn the best.

Alpha 11-16-2011 09:34 PM

Having never read the books, I can state that the movies are at least interesting. And yes, I am a guy. Saw them more out of boredom than anything else at first. It is a given that any series of books adapted to movie form will have some discrepancies.

Arikana 11-17-2011 02:17 AM

I've only seen the first two movies of the series so far, and comparing them to their book counterparts...well, I'm just going to say outright that they are pure, utter crap. >_>;;
The only good point about the New Moon movie was probably the cgi animation for the shapeshifters' scenes. >_>; But the rest was just crap. It's as if the actors and actresses didn't understand how to act in the first two movies.

Hopefully when and if, which is a big if, I choose to see the movie counterparts to the third and fourth books, they'll be a lot better.

But definitely choosing to watch them in theatre would never happen for me as it's just not worth the money to do so.

Rinni 11-18-2011 11:34 AM

I read the first book when it came out back in middle school; loved it. After that, they started going down hill. By "Breaking Dawn", she was breaking her own canon and I kinda figured the Twilight franchise had hit it's low point.

I was wrong.

The movies came out. >.< Never again. Ever.

The first movie had me walking out 20 minutes into it; I couldn't stand the pacing, the acting, or the issues with the storyline when compared to the book. It just left me feeling irked.

Zenella 11-18-2011 02:47 PM

Breaking Dawn was surprisingly good. The acting was MUCH better. And as always, the wolves were effing amazing.

But the movies before it were just...I dunno, they could have done A LOT better with them.

Obsidian_Sunshine 11-18-2011 07:48 PM

I think that the books were way better then the movies but I enjoyed watching the movies too. I really can't wait to see Breaking Dawn. I wish my boyfriend would go with me too.

Tiva 11-22-2011 09:25 PM

I read the books in high school, they were good enough to fix my Harry Potter craving since I can read a book a week if not faster. They weren't the greatest writing in the world but it was decent. My older sister and my niece liked them better than I did, I guess a high school junior isn't in the exact target group.

I have seen the movies, they bother me mostly because of the lack of good acting that makes the characters seem more flat than they really are. I can't wait for the twilight crazy to end.

Alpha 12-25-2011 03:18 PM

Yeah, I'm with Tiva. Never read the books (probably should, just to get better idea of movies) and only seen the first two movies. Tiva thinks I'm crazy for that much, but I have a feeling I will be seeing the last few as in being dragged with to see....

hyjin 12-25-2011 03:57 PM

Like any movie that follows off of a book. There are details missing. I liked the first movie, but the rest began to go down hill...

Tiva 12-25-2011 09:16 PM

*rolls eyes at Alpha* No you won't because I don't really care much to see them.

Alpha 12-25-2011 09:34 PM

Okay, well, that's a bit of a relief.

Zerook 12-28-2011 08:47 PM

I read the first book. Saw the first and last movie.
I hated them all (a friend took me to the movie). The movie made me dizzy with the camera work. Terrible acting. Boring pace.
The main characters in the book are really dull, even less than that, I don't know Edward or Bella's personality.
There was HUGE potential for a great book such as the ensuing battle in the end of the first book but nothing really happened. The other characters could have shined through as well such the quirky Alice and Carlisle (is it not awesome that a vampire is a doctor working with blood?).

Yokuutsu 01-05-2012 11:41 PM

The books are a train wreck. You can't stop reading once you;ve started kind of thing.

The movies just weren't that good, though Jacob was/is good eye candy.

And the newest movie is reported to cause seizures.

Ducky 01-06-2012 12:22 PM

I've read all the book (started before the movie way in production in any way) While they're terribly written and don't really have a very good story or meaning to them, they're oddly addictive. I wouldn't say I liked or disliked them, i just read them. AS for the movies.. they were just bad, without the unknown draw of the books. They were massively awful, they were simply really obviously aimed at a certain demographic that I don't fit into at all.

Alpha 01-13-2012 11:08 AM

I find myself agreeing with Ducky on this one. Oddly addictive, yet the movies are for a particular group that I do not fit into.

Asami 01-13-2012 04:08 PM

Ducky is right XD
they were written horribly but for some strange reason i found myself staying up late reading them and finished the series in 3 days... the movies of course suck though i never got addicted to them in that strange way.
someone needs to study why the books were so addicting XD lol

Epic Rave Monster 11-25-2012 04:29 AM

I have not read the books. I have seen all of the Twilight movies that have come out because my mom wanted to see them in the theater.

I don't like the characters in it. The jealous men. The girl who doesn't know how to live her life without a man. I just find it stupid. Aside from the characters, it does have potential. I have enjoyed parts of it. Such as the music. The fighting. And the screams of terror. -Smirks.-

Arikana 11-29-2012 04:59 AM

The fighting scenes and music were the only good parts of the movie.

About ninety to ninety-five percent of the actors did not know how to act in this movie series. =w= Especially so for the lead actor and actress. =w= It's like they all forgot how to act just for this movie series.

Bingo!

Xurxo 12-06-2012 04:47 PM

I couldn't sit through the movies (okay, I sat through the first) and attempted the book. I got about 3 pages in and quit. The movie was poorly written (about as poorly written as the books), and horribly acted.

Kristen Stewart's face has all the liveliness of a corpse.

I could not figure out why all these guys found her so appealing.

I do get the appeal, though. Most people I know who enjoyed them understood that they weren't good, but still enjoyed them. And that's okay. You like what I don't - I like what you don't.

I just didn't like them at all.
