Things that go bump[Fey & Duryn]
~*~*~*~Private Game for Fey and Duryn~*~*~*~
Anna loved the city at night, well, really she loved the city period. The hustle, the noise, the possibility of finding anything you wanted at any time day or night. But what she loved the most was the assumption of safety. You live on the 45th floor? Well of course no one would think about taking your priceless bits of art, jewelry or other trinkets. Silly, silly people, then it was just a challenge. "Oh you're lovely aren't you?" she crooned to the eight Karat star sapphire she'd just 'liberated' from a dusty vault, her latest challenge. "I do believe I'll reset you into a perfectly scrumptious necklace, not this moldering old broach." Her feet dangled off the roof, a mere 50 stories from the ground, her hair sliding over her shoulders as the wind pushed and prodded it from it's moorings. |
Duryn appeared behind her, smiling as he watched her, noticing the shine of the sapphire right away as she treasured her new shiny toy.
He walked a bit closer to her, silent, the light breeze covering any sound of his footsteps as he stopped about a foot behind her. "Boo." |
Her fingers closed quickly and securely around her toy, but Anna didn't jump or even give any other sign of being startled. That would have gotten her killed. Instead she waited a set of madly pounding beats of her heart before she twisted her head to glance at whomever had joined her on her rooftop. "Well hello there," she purred, her torso twisting to angle more towards the handsome brunette.
Duryn smiles and bows slight towards her then he moves so sit next to her. "And what are you up to, hmmm?" he asked, even though he knew the answer.
Nonchalantly Anna slipped her hand inside her shorts, pocketing the trinket in a safe location. "Oh, just oh for a bit of night air," she knew better than to pull the 'looking at the stars' bit...she couldn't tell one star from the next, and inevitably someone asked. She admired him as he sat, if she had to be interrupted this was definitely the person to do it. "And yourself? A bit of insomnia to keep us awake?"
Duryn nods to her then shrugs. "The same as you.. as far as enjoying the night.." he smiled. "I suppose I am seeing what kind of interesting things I can find tonight."
Anna gave him an arch look, lord he was innocent and gullible. But no matter, his lack was her gain. After all if someone did report the theft she now needed a good alibi...or to get rid of anyone that might recall her on the roof at this hour. "Well, assuming you're not winging off to a wife," she glanced down at his hand, a lack of a ring didn't mean much in this day and age. "I'd love a spot of company."
Duryn grins, studying her for a moment before answering, he nodded at her. Lover yes, wife no, he thought, but chose to not go into detail verbally "No... no wife. What do you have in mind?
Dipping her head she smiled, well well, easy. "Oh I don't know, the night is young, dancing? Coffee? A glass of wine?" Tipping her head to look at him coyly, "If you're feeling dangerous maybe a bit of ink or a piercing? I know a cozy little place...well...I know many a cozy place. What's your poison?"
Duryn laughs softly at her idea of 'dangerous' "Oh, an ink or piercing? Living dangerously hmm.." you have no idea, he thought as he grins "Whatever your preference, I'll just come along for the ride." he smiles.
Standing in one motion Anna grinned and smoothed back her hair, "Oh you're in for a ride then." Checking a moment for her rappelling line she grinned, "Don't say I didn't warn you!" With a wave of her fingertips she dropped over the edge of the roof, the line sliding smoothly through her fingers. She loved the rush, the thrill of falling with only a tiny silk rope, a heavy duty carabiner, and her skill to keep her from ending up a headline.
Duryn grinned, watching her go over the edge, he waited a moment for her to get ahead before he put a hand on the edge of the rooftop and leaps over. He enjoys the feel of the fall, the breeze against his face and the rush of seeing the streets below from so high up.
Tipping her head back Anna laughs up at the moon then gasps as she sees a body plummeting after her. The idiot! He had no line, did he not realize they were so high? Adjusting her hand she slowed her decent, hoping she could catch him, or at least slow him down. Reaching out her hand she shouted, "Grab my hand, you fool!" She knew she was strong enough, it would just depend on if she was dexterous enough to actual grab him.
Duryn pulls a small cord at his waist, and out of nowhere a parachute pops out from behind him, not a traditional design but slimmer and more discreet, something 'eccentric' millionaire adrenaline junkies would pay big bucks for not bulking themselves down for base jumping.
"Oooooooh," Anna's eyes narrowed in greed. She'd wanted one of those, but it'd seemed so silly...but it looked bloody fun. Releasing her tightened grip on her line she resumed a controlled free-fall. Her heels clicked as she landed and she rummaged in her pocket for a tiny remote device that would detach from the moorings up top. With a hiss the line slithered to the ground and she began coiling it up while she waited for him to land.
Duryn glides smoothly down, until he lands smoothly near her, he begins gathering up the chute, to pack it back up in its sleek pack. He turns to her, smiling "You like? Sorry to give you a near heart attack but I wanted to keep it a surprise."
With her wits all back under the auspice Anna flashed him a grin. "Well, as long as I'm not having to scrape you off the sidewalk I'm sure we'll both survive. Definitely got my heart pumping though; I've fancied one of those myself but never gave in." Tucking away her line and unhooking her carabiner. Giving him a wink she sauntered closer, "You're first man to make my heart beat that fast on a first meeting...."
Duryn grins "Well... thank you for that compliment." He finishes packing the chute, waiting for her to lead the way. "Is this kind adventure a regular evening occurrence? Quite exciting.. or maybe I've been neglecting my inner thrill seeker lately. I think that definitely needs to change." He grins.
Looping her arm into his Anna grinned, "Oh I love a thrill...but they vary in source from time to time." Leading him around the corner she spotted her lovely yellow Corvette sat waiting. Fishing out her keys, from lord only knows what pocket, she turned off the alarm and leaned back against the side panel. "But I'm always up for another thrill, what gets your heart pounding?"
He eyes her car "Nice ride.." He looks to her shrugging "Any number of things I suppose.. beautiful women, stunts just as we have done a few moments ago, flying along on a motorcycle, things like that. I like living life at the edge, it is the -only- way to live and enjoy life while it lasts. I take full advantage of my time on this earth. I suppose that would be why some people see me as 'eccentric'." He smiled at her.
"Oh darling, if you're eccentric I'm right there with you," pushing another button the top folds back and she grins. "I don't have a bike, but I do have a lovely engine in this doll, and she loves to take a spin with a handsome man. Join me for a ride?"
Duryn nods to the first then he grins "I'd love to" as he makes his way into the car.
Waiting for him to buckle up Anna turned over the powerful engine and turned down the sound system...no need to deafen her guest. The streets were pleasantly deserted and she easily swept out into the lane, then punched the accelerator. She knew the standard pitch of 0-60 in so many seconds...she was determined one day to prove their count wrong. With a down shift she took a corner recklessly fast and sped through the city. She wasn't concerned about cops, most of them knew her vehicle and found it just wiser to mail her the ticket than chase her halfway across the city to issue it in person.
Duryn smiles, enjoying the ride, it was literally up to his speed. "So.. I have a serious question for you now. Are you going to at least give my sapphire a good home?"
Anna laughed and shook her head as they spun onto the expressway, the tires barely gripping the turn. "You're going to have to be a bit more specific I'm afraid." Weaving through the sparse traffic she exited with the same zeal and raced down the off-ramp. Ignoring a few red lights she slid the car to a halt in front of a base-thumping club, the engine giving up with a throaty growl. "I've a lot of sapphires in my collection, as well as many other precious stones." Slipping out of her seat she tossed the keys to a guy by the door. "Park her for me Miami, and I might let you go home with her one of these nights."
Duryn smiles "Your newly acquired sapphire.." he continued smiling "I notice the police don't even bother... very convenient." as he exits as well.
Hips already swaying to the music Anna flipped her hair and shook her head. "I always take good care of all my pretties," she winked at one of the bartenders and kept sliding through the crowd. As they came upon a wall of humanity on the dance floor she turned and beckoned him closer. "I could take care of you too...you're nearly as pretty as my gem."
Duryn grins, moving closer to her "Oh? Could you?" he listens to the music while taking in the surroundings, enjoying all of it, but still focused on her with his emerald eyes. He begins moving to the music, gracefully matching, and a bit sensually.
Dancing with Duryn was pure pleasure, though arguably Anna enjoyed dancing with anyone or no one equally. The press of other bodies didn't phase her either. As the song slipped into the next one she leaned into him, her heels barely giving her enough height to whisper into his ear. "I'd take very good care of you...at least until they next pretty happened by." She was at least honest about that, no man could ever accuse her of leading them on
Duryn smiles, continuing to move and dance with her, amused "At least you are honest, which is appreciated."
"I'm many things, honest is only when I feel like it," she twists against him in the dance, her enjoyment evident. As though a switch is turned she suddenly slips around him and tugs him back off the dance floor. "I am in need of refreshment, I'll buy you a drink as well."
Duryn nods to her as he gets lead to the bar to get drinks as he nods to her. "I'll be boring and have a water for refreshment."
Giving Duryn a moue of disappointment she flashed a red-hot smile at the bartender, a young woman in a nearly not-there blue dress. "Teran, I'll take the usual. And the devilishly handsome young man with me is being singularly unimaginative and would like a bottled water." Turning back to her erstwhile companion she walked her fingers up his chest. "Don't tell me I've a bit of a teetotaler on my hands? One drink won't hurt you." The bartender slid a bottle of water towards them along with a quartet of shot glasses. "I'll even let you have one of my Horsemen."
He grins at her, giving her a look at the unimaginative comment. "I don't drink normal things because.....because... I am a vahm-pire." he holds his arm over the bottom of his face for a moment for dramatic effect, grinning all the while.
Anna's laughter pealed over the noise of the club and she nearly toppled to the side. "Ah, very Béla Lugosi. Shall I see if they have a spot of AB negative for you? Or are you a universal vampire and prefer O?" Turning a bit to her drinks she downed them one after the other. The burn hit and she shook from shoulders to toes as the fire settled in her core.
Duryn grins, watching her. "What blood type are you?"
Shaking off the rush from her Four Horsemen Anna tipped her head to the side, "Uhm, B neg I believe...why? Do different types taste different?" Still smiling she tapped a finger to her lips, "If AB negative is the most rare would that taste better or worse I wonder...."
Duryn smiles shaking his head "Blood is blood"
"Well that's no fun then, I think I'd demand mine taste more like lemon oil...or at least how lemon oil smells." Lifting a brow she gives a cheshire grin and leans towards him, "So, really, not a drinker, you might want to have a better cover than 'vampire'."
Duryn smiles "Fine.. I just don't drink very often, I suppose I'll have one. I'm just not sure what I want."
