Genevieve sighed, dragging Adelais down the side walk and towards her little black Cooper. "Dieu merde, Ade! You've got to stop being such a girl and trust me. Alright?" She smiled, opening the passenger door and almost throwing him into the tiny car, "Je vous promets that this will go well! I made sure to do some thorough research on him!" She pushed the rather short man into the seat then slammed the door before he could get out. She sprinted around the front of the car, jumping into her seat and jamming the key into the ignition, "Please go along with it? He's a really nice guy." She started the car and hurried out onto the streets. She was a speeder through and through and was weaving in and out of traffic at ridiculously fast speeds.
Adelais sighed as he was basically kidnapped from his house, "Honestly Genevieve...can't you just leave me be for one weekend? And I most certainly am not behaving like a girl! I just..don't find any men here attractive. I mean, this may be Phoenix, but still..." He trailed off, seeing she was not listening in the slightest. With a sigh, he looked out the window, his hair covering up his eye patch a bit. With a scowl, he brought his index finger up and scratching at the area around it. Damn thing always itched. |
Aaron sighed as he leaned back in the chair, he couldn't believe he was doing a blind date, let alone set up by a person he met on the internet. He was jarred out of his thoughts by the waiter. "Do you want something to drink while you wait?" The young woman smiled. "Just a glass of water." He smiled back. The woman nodded and scurried off. He shook his head as he went back to his thoughts. This is so weird. He thought.
Genevieve laughed as she sped into a stall at the restaurant. "You better be on your best behavior Adelais or I swear to God I will hurt you." She hurriedly climbed out of her seat, going over to Adelais and opening the door for him, "It's a shame you have to wear that stupid patch..it makes you so scary." She winked, skittering away before he could swat her. "Oh lighten up Ade~"
Adelais sighed as he climbed out, tempted to smack the girl. "Call me Ade again and I will seriously hurt you...I'm not past hitting you.." He rolled his eye a bit, his hand going to his eye patch instinctively, "It's not my fault my stupid mother rammed a sewing needle into my eye..." He narrowed his icy blue eye at her and followed her inside. Truth be told, it was a knife..a very sharp knife... Genevieve frowned, "Don't get all doom and gloom on me, please?" She smiled a bit, grabbing his arm and pulling him over to the table of the dark haired man she had met online. "Hey Aaron! I know blind dates aren't really your thing..but I promise Adelais will be on his best behavior.." She glanced to the oddly young looking man beside her, "Won't you~" Adelais sighed, pulling his arm from the French woman's grip, "If it gets you to shut up and go away..I'll do whatever it takes." He looked away slightly, then ruffled her hair a bit, being cautious of her hat, "You know I love you darling~ Now go...I don't need you hovering over me." He gave her a quick hug before she left, then sat down at the other end of the table, watching Aaron curiously with his icy blue eye. "So then...Aaron.." He shrugged, unsure of what to say really. |
Aaron looked to Genevieve, "Ok Gene." He smiled a bit and looked to the black hared man. This might be more interesting then I thought. He thought as he saw the man called Adelais' eye patch well the bottom of it anyway. "Adelais? Isn't that Latin?" He glanced to Gene as she walked away. He leaned forward a bit as he crossed his legs.
Adelais's face was purely bored, "Indeed..." He straightened his blue rose corsage a bit, as the damn woman had twisted it all about when she was pulling him along to her car. "Well Aaron, I'll get right to the point. I don't really want to be here, but that's really Genevieve's fault. She always springs these damn things on me. I'm not a very pleasant person, so if you can't handle a bit of verbal abuse, you might as well just head right out that door." He watched the man curiously, wondering how he'd react. "And yes, this is my 'best' behavior.."
Aaron chuckled a bit, "I don't mind a little verbal abuse, it keeps things... entertaining." He folded his hands on the table. "I find it refreshing. Most blind dates I have the person is really nervous, or wants to leave right away because they don't want to be seen out in public with a guy on a date." He shrugged a bit. He quickly pulled down his shirt as it rode up. When he pulled it down a small splash of blood could be seen on his chest, but quickly got recovered by his shirt.
Adelais's eye went right for the blood, So I'm not crazy..I do smell it.. He ignored the smell, watching Aaron with extreme curiosity now, "You better not be a total punching bag either..I dislike that very much so." He leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers his eye narrowed ever so slightly. "I have long since given up on what people think of me. I'm used to the staring.." He moved his index finger to point to his eye patch.
"No I'm not, I tend to deal out a little myself." Aaron smiled. "I don't care what people think or say. I learned that when I was in High school." He sighed a bit. "I think your eye patch makes you seem a little more mysterious. Which is a good thing." He smiled a little bit.
The waitress came back with a glass of water, "There you go sir. Is there anything I can get for you sir?" She looked to Adelais with a smile. |
He looked to the waitress, "A glass of your finest Bordeaux will suffice." He sighed a bit, then looked back to Aaron. He was silent as he waited for the waitress to leave.I wonder why he's stained with blood, he thought idly to himself. He was surely curious, but he obviously could not ask...yet at least.
The waitress nodded and skittered off again.
Aaron opened his mouth to say something but got cut off by his pager. He pulled it off of hid belt and glanced at it. "Damn, if you'll excuse me I need to make a phone call." He smiled a bit and stood. He pulled out his phone and went to the bathroom area. He dialed a number and waited for the person on the other end to answer. "Thank you for calling me right away Aaron." A deep voice came from the phone. "Your welcome sir, and what can I help you with?" Aaron kept his voice low as to not attract any attention. "I have a client that I need you to take care of for me. You are the best and your pay will knock you on your ass." The man chuckled. Aaron raised his eyebrows, "Really sir? Well then I will not fail you. What is the address?" He smiled pulling out a notepad and a pen. He wrote down the address, "I will have it done for you tonight sir." He nodded not that is could be seen by the man. He hung up the phone and replaced everything in his pockets. He smoothed out his shirt and walked back to the table. He sat down, "Sorry, it was work calling." He smiled. While Aaron was away the waitress came back and dropped of the wine, "There you go sir, I will be back shortly to take your orders." She smiled and went to her next table. |
He raised an eyebrow as he overheard the conversation between Aaron and the man on the phone, How interesting.. He glanced to the waitress as she came back with the wine, "Thank you.." He lightly took the glass in his hand, swirling the liquid as Aaron came back, watching it circle around inside, "Quite alright...however rude it was..." He gave Aaron a look then took a sip of the wine. "Either way, work is work..you have to get your pay some how, right?" He sighed a bit, beyond bored with this already. I'm going to kill her...
"Ya, again I'm sorry." Aaron Sighed. He was a little bored with this 'date'. "Indeed, I'm sorry. But I can tell your bored, I think we'll just call this the end." He fidgeted with his glass of water. "You can tell Gene anything you want." He smiled a tad.
He waved his hand a bit, "It's not your fault...I just don't find most of the men nowadays to be all that...interesting to me." He ran his finger lightly along the rim, closing his eye a bit, "So..what does Aaron Kenneth Trigger do for a living?" He reopened his icy blue eye, raising a brow curious to the answer he'd get.
"It's fine." Aaron smiled a bit. "Well I... Wait, how did you know my full name? I never told Gene." He narrowed his eyes a bit.
Adelais leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers again, "I am not without my own research Aaron. Gene just couldn't keep quiet about you...Can you blame me? Now, your occupation? I'm rather curious as to what could've interrupted you."
Aaron sighed, and pondered for a few moments. "Well I'll be going to prison if you tell anyone but I can't think of a lie. I'm a mercenary." He looked at Adelais with a nonchalant/serious look on his face.
Adelais raised a brow and leaned forward a bit, "How interesting~" He watched the man intently for a moment. "So that explains why I smelt blood," he mused aloud, not really paying attention to the fact he did. He leaned back in his chair, a slight smile to his face, "Now you have my fullest attention Aaron." He took another long sip from his glass then set it back down cautiously on the table cloth.
"It pays rather well." Aaron leaned forward. "How could you smell blood?" He raised his eyebrow in intrigue. "Now you have my attention." He bit the inside of his cheek.
Adelais shrugged, "I'm rather well..acquainted..we'll say..with blood..." He watched Aaron silently for a moment, lifting the wine glass and swirling the little bit of liquid around. "I suppose you could say I'm in a similar line of work..except..not for pay..." His single eye kept focus on the wine as he slowly swished it around in the glass. "I've become rather attuned to the smell of blood and when I saw the stain, soon after I smelt blood." Not entirely false, but..not entirely true at the same time.
"Ah so basically your a plain old murderer." Aaron chuckled a bit. He pulled out his wallet and laid a $100 bill in the table. "I should go, If I don't have my 'client' on my bosses desk he'll send someone after me." He replaced his wallet in his pocket. "But if you care to join me, it would be nice to see some different 'styles'." He smiled a bit as he stood up.
He raised a brow, standing up along with Aaron, "Inviting a complete stranger on a kill? I'm flattered~" Now they were talking his game. Vampires loved to kill, even just for the hell of it. Now, Adelais was not a mindless murdering machine, but he still had a large number under his belt. "Maybe I could even make a living out of my..hobby.."
Aaron smiled, "Well I trust you." He nodded. "Maybe you could, just don't take my jobs." He chuckled. "My car is just right out here." He pointed. When he got to the door he held it open for Adelais.
Adelais smiled a bit, "Oh, I would never. That would be rude." He nodded a thank you as he stepped out the door, waiting for Aaron, "And you still find time to be a gentleman. How endearing."
Aaron stepped out, "Ya well if there weren't gentlemen no one would be here." He chuckled a bit. He pulled out his keys and unlocked the doors to his car. He led Adelais to his Porsche Cayman, he went to the passenger door and opened it for him. "After you." He smiled a bit.
Adelais climbed into the black car, "Still..there aren't many." He pulled his feet in and waited for Aaron to get in as well. He didn't bother with his seat belt. He never did. It's not like an accident would kill him.
Aaron nodded and closed the door when Adelais was full in. He quickly walked over to the drivers side and got in. He put the key in the ignition, "It's only about thirty minutes from here." He started the car. "I have to say this would be the most interesting first date I have ever had." He chuckled as he started backing up.
Adelais chuckled a bit, "This is definitely turning out to be in my top five.." He's had stranger..but this was certainly the most interesting. "Oh, watch out for the cat..." Not even half a second later, a car darted out from behind another car and right behind Aaron's before scampering across the street.
Aaron looked around, "What cat?" He looked in the rear view mirror and saw orange tabby run behind his car. "Oh that cat." He chuckled a bit. "Other then your... Hobby, what else do you do?" He smiled a bit.
"Yes, that cat." He chuckled lightly. "I sit and sulk in my big, dark library all day and hiss at the world..." His tone suggested he was quoting someone..more particularly..Genevieve. He rolled his eye, "I don't like dealing with a bunch of...people. I find the human race as a whole overly self indulgent and ignorant." He shrugged. "Other than that, I currently am unemployed to my great pleasure and have graduated college last year." He shrugged again, sincere about both statements. This was what..the..40th time he graduated? No..maybe more..he didn't keep track anymore.
"That is very true, we are." Aaron chuckled a bit. "Well then I guess congratulations are in order. What did you study... If I may ask." He was starting to get very intrigued by this stranger he met not more then an hour ago. "Oddly I went to school for criminal justice. Yes I know its ironic." He chuckled again.
"Psychology and Sociology, actually...I got my Doctorates.." He was really rather bored with the statement. This was his fifth Psychology Doctorate and his third Sociology Doctorate. It was really no impressive feat. "I got my Masters about two and a half years ago..." He shrugged again, realizing how..intelligent he much be appearing to this man. It bothered him none. Besides..he'd only be with this man about two years..if that...before 'getting fatally injured in a car accident' and moving back to Berlin, Germany for another few years.
"Interesting.... Very interesting." Aaron nodded as he pulled off to the side. "Here it is." He shut the car off. He popped the hood and quickly got out of the car, he headed to the passenger side of the car and opened the door. He left it open while Adelais got out. He went to the 'trunk' and grabbed out a duffel bag. He swung it over his shoulder. "You ready?"
He climbed out, the wind blowing the hair away from his face as he looked at the house, "Yup. I bet, I could have him dead in less than 5 seconds..." He looked over to Aaron as he stepped over, a devious look to his face. "And, I can make it look like a natural death...I'm just that good." He grinned a bit, "You on for that bet?"
Aaron smiled, "Sure, but there should be something interesting on the line as well." He bit his lip slightly. "And since you were so gracious to say yes to this little rendezvous, you get to pick the stipulations." He quietly closed the passenger door.
"Well, if I loose, you get to choose my..punishment..but I know I won't so I'm not concerned..and since I'll be winning this bet...I'll leave it as a surprise." He grinned, knowing just what he wanted from the man, but he couldn't tell..not yet. He looked to the house, "I won't even need a knife~ Now then..the time starts when I enter the house and stops when I turn on the lights. Deal?" He turned a bit, holding out his hand.
Aaron nodded as his mind went through many scenarios of what Adelais' punishments would be. He grabbed Adelais' hand and shook it once, "Deal." He smile somewhat evilly. He watched Adelais to see if he had a tell or something, but couldn't find anything.
Adelais smiled a bit as they shook hands. The man was already dead, he had stopped the man's heart the moment they pulled into the driveway. After shoving his hands into his pockets, he started off towards the house. Of course, he knew the door was locked, but with a quick thought, the lock clicked and he was standing inside the kitchen. He shut the door behind him; quietly then teleported himself next to the body of the 'target'. Not even a second later, the lights found themselves turning on without his hand touching the switch. Mission accomplished~
Aaron smiled a bit as the lights came on, he was really impressed. He quickly made his way into the house as he put on a pair of gloves as to not leave any finger prints. He crossed his arms as he walked into the bedroom, "Well good job." He looked at the body. He walked closer to Adelais, he bent over and felt for a pulse. He nodded when he didn't get one, "Ok then." He stood up straight and smoothed out his shirt. He turned around and went to the closet he walked into it. He moved around the clothing and whispered something.
