Seriously its the end of part of our childhood :) no more HP after this! Im a harry potter fan, and I'm hoping the ending or the movie isnt a disappointment. Anyways Can't wait to see it!

Madam Kira 07-14-2011 01:37 PM

I'm going to see the midnight showing, 12 hours for us.
I'm not all that excited to see it, just a friend talked me into going.

nyreen 07-14-2011 04:44 PM

I want to see it, but would prefer to avoid the whole hype. I'm going to see it either next week or the week after that.

Ladyduet 07-14-2011 06:55 PM

going to see it in a few hours. local theater is doing a pt1 pt2 event so me and my girlfriend are going to see pt1 again for refresh and then pt2 right afterwards.

Feythfull 07-14-2011 09:03 PM

Ashurato 07-14-2011 10:51 PM

I feel like I'm the only one of my friends who isn't going to go see the showing.
Then again, the last movie I saw was the 4th.

Illusion 07-14-2011 11:26 PM

I've seen every Harry Potter on opening weekend since the Sorcerers stone. I'm going to see it Saturday, if not Sunday. But I will be seeing it this weekend no doubt.

The movie is going to get me very Nostalgic... I still remember seeing the first film in theaters. Aaah good times.. Gooood times..

Ashurato 07-14-2011 11:28 PM

The first is still my favorite. There's just a feeling about that one that the other ones just can't seem to replicate.

Taki 07-15-2011 05:29 PM

Saw the movie last night at midnight. It was amazing~ <3 *v*

I'd go on more, but I decided to reply minutes before I have to leave for work. < u< whoops.

Ashurato 07-15-2011 10:55 PM

My friend was bawling when the movie ended.

It was the first time I pretended not to know her.

Chi 07-16-2011 01:36 AM

My mind is blown. xD;
Those are the only words I can use to describe my feelings.

Illusion 07-16-2011 09:41 PM

It was sooooo gooood...

My only comment is... I can't believe it's all over :/, I'm going to miss the movie Franchise.

Taki 07-16-2011 10:30 PM

Definitely :C
I was sad when I was done with the books, and now the movies are done.

But we have Pottermore to look forward to *u*

Daigotsu 07-16-2011 10:58 PM

There is always Pottermore...

And all I can say about the movie is...Yes. Just yes.

Illusion 07-16-2011 11:12 PM

Pottermore looked kinda boring to me :/
I rather have a MMORPG, I always wanted to make my own wizard and explore Hogwartz.

Daigotsu 07-16-2011 11:20 PM

I would SO enjoy a HP MMOrpg. For real.

Isn't Pottermore just like...interactive reading?

Taki 07-16-2011 11:21 PM

Yesss I would like that, too.

Not much about Pottermore has been revealed yet but I think I will like it anyway. Rowling did say there would be a bunch of new text, so I'm always eager to learn more! X]

johnny 07-20-2011 08:11 PM

I saw it today!

It was so excellent.

And Alan Rickman really proved how great of an actor he is. In all the other movies, he's pretty much just been "grr, sternface" but in this one he actually got to do a whole lot more. The transition of Snape from villain to sympathetic character was instantaneous, thanks to his skills.

Overall, the movie was a fitting close to a great part of my childhood. I still have the books and the DVDs and the writing/reading influence that Harry Potter left on me, but everything being over is very bittersweet.

Yokuutsu 07-21-2011 02:55 PM

I saw it the day it came out.

And Griphook got what he friggin deserved.

There were, of course, some problems with the movie. They can't get everything perfect, but it was way better than the Prisoner of Azkaban...which almost any book movie is better than that in my mind.

But it might not be over. She might write more books. -.- About the new generation -.-

Lucid: 07-21-2011 06:10 PM

I never really had much sympathy for Snape until this movie. Alan Rickman is amazing.
(I didn't ever like James either. So that might've helped me like Snape better too.)

I don't want books about Albus Severus! D:< I'd like to hear more about the characters' adult lives though.

Yokuutsu 07-21-2011 06:44 PM

Seeing Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) looking only a max of 7 years older....19 years later....kind of ruined the idea of stories about their adult lives.

I wouldn't mind hearing more about the Malfoy's though :3

Taki 07-22-2011 01:38 AM

Rowling said she wouldn't write any more books after this, but that was a while ago. XD I haven't heard much of what she's said about it, but with all the reception the books/movies are getting, who knows.. she may change her mind.

It won't have the same magic as the 7 books gave us, Voldemort/Death Eaters are also over so what else can happen?

I'd love more books, anyway. ; _;

Holly 07-22-2011 09:37 AM

I have yet to see it, but I plan to.
o u o

I'll be sad to see it end...

Yokuutsu 07-22-2011 12:42 PM

I wouldn't love more books. I think she should've stopped right before the last chapter of the last books-you know...the one that pairs everyone up? And if she writes any more books and decides she'd rather have different pairing...it's going to fail....unless it is Harry having an affair with Malfoy. That would work for me :3

Anonymous 07-22-2011 03:02 PM

I thought the movie was good for being a book-movie. BUT, I had a HUGE problem with the ending.
There was no "Omg... It's over!" moment, and they didn't show everyone praising Harry.
They skipped it and instead went straight to having all the characters just smile and nod at him.
I am also just generally disappointed with the actual Harry/Voldemort battle scene. It just was no where near as epic as it should have been.
It was like they used up all their time on the first 2 hours, and then just rushed through the ending.

Overall, I liked it, but the end wanted to make me puke.

The only thing that made me REALLY happy was that the movie hinted that Luna and Neville were going to be a couple which the book didn't do at all.
I LOVE them as a couple. <333

EDIT: And for Rowling making more books, I doubt it. She went from being poor to being a billionaire. Why would she make more? Even if she made a whole new series that was completely different, it wouldn't have the same luster and fan-base as Harry Potter did.

Lucid: 07-22-2011 04:14 PM

I didn't notice the hint of Luna and Neville being a couple at all. o.o;;
but that might be because I looked it up online and found out that Luna supposedly ends up marrying Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander, author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I thought I would be upset with Luna marrying anybody other than Neville, but given her fascination with odd creatures, I'm kinda okay with it.

Anonymous 07-22-2011 08:54 PM

Yeah, near the end when Harry was going to the woods to see Voldemort, Neville said something like, "We'll if I'm going to die, I have to go tell Luna how I feel!" Or something like that. And then at the VERY end (not the 19 years later part.. before that) when they showed Neville and Luna sitting on steps together and either hold hands or I imagined it.

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...the_Battle.jpg

I SWEAR they held hands or something. XD Or she at least SMILED at him. This is the only picture I could find though. D:

EDIT: AHA!!! FOUND THE EXACT QUOTE!!!
"Have you seen Luna? I'm mad about her! About time I told her, since we're both probably going to be dead by dawn."
:DDDDD

(。◕‿◕。) I didn't see it yet, my husband did.
He told me this time round they kept
everything from the book in the movie.
Without taking things out. He also said
that this movie was unbelieveable with
how amazing it was. Better than all
the other movies. Which makes me excited
to see it. Otherwise I don't care much
for HP since she killed my favorite
character in a book >.>;

Writers don't... really work that way. People who love writing don't just "stop" because they've made enough money. Making up stories is something that's constantly going through a writer's head, and considering the large, expansive world that JK Rowling came up with, it's hard to believe she'll just stop thinking about the characters, backstories, etc. After all, she actually came up with an "ending" for each of the characters - who they married, what they ended up doing for a living, children (including the names of said children). When someone is that invested in a story, they're not just going to retire to count their money piles.

Writers don't write for money. They write because that's what they do. It's hard to explain but, just know that there's not a writer out there who thinks, "If I keep writing, I'll get rich!" We pretty much resign ourselves to being poor, and we keep writing anyway - why on earth would any writer stop, just because they made money?

I personally don't know if I'd like more stories in the Harry Potter universe. The whole thing wrapped up pretty nicely, and after all - what would the story be? The Evil Overlord is done with and, as the name suggests, there can only be one "Chosen One", and that was Harry. The story is essentially over, and the rest of England's wizarding world should be at peace.

However, I wouldn't put it past J.K. Rowling to come up with something that I wouldn't even consider, and make it a success.

Zypher 07-23-2011 03:02 PM

I doubt it will be the end. Movies always seem to get re-released as box sets, sets with 'never before seen footage' and 'extended' versions/director cuts.

So, I would expect these things to come along sometime within the next ten years.

Yokuutsu 07-25-2011 02:51 AM

@Saiyouri

They changed some things. Believe me. Not major things, but one thing I wish they had kept the same. Wasn't vital to the story line unless she writes more books then it could possibly become a problem if Harry Potter has any involvement

Saiyouri 07-25-2011 06:29 AM

(。◕‿◕。) I'm glad it wasn't big important
things that were changed. Its sad the
series is over but I guess all things
have to come to an end.

╚═════════════════════════════════╝

Yokuutsu 07-25-2011 11:22 AM

Well, so am I on both of those. Except one thing they changed...it would've been more respectful (for the character's actions) if they didn't, but oh well. At least it wasn't a big disappointment like Prisoner of Azkaban was.

Taki 07-25-2011 02:47 PM

Indeed, I wasn't as disappointed with this one as I was with the others, so I'm happy~

8bit 07-25-2011 10:25 PM

saw it a few days ago, was soo good! everyone should see it, though apparently they cut good fighting scenes from the book off :| not sure if that is true since i havent read it yet. But if someone can confirm that is true i should read it... :D
