Since I haven't seen any thread on this, we have one now : D

So, what piercings do ya'll have/want?
Which ones do you think look horrible period?
How'd ya'll take care of them? Like your piercer said or not?
Feel free to tell any stories (horror or not)

I have two lip rings, a nose ring, some ear piercings...and a tongue ring I just got less than a week ago.

Is it normal for it to still be swollen? Is it normally pierced at an angle? How soon can I change this thing? lol

yes, no they messed up, 6 weeks at the least



one in my ear, outer shell center 14 gauge though there is a 12 ring in it

Just thought I'd ask since he didn't give me anything for aftercare instructions or anything. Which I had a bad feeling about it anyway. My tongue it kind of short so....at an angle...it does look better....like more where a tongue ring would be -just saying-

Which I didn't know this until after, but two statutes/laws for piercers in the state....he broke with my piercing. Now I feel like I'm gonna die or something T_T

A lot of places I'm reading say change it at about 15 days....due to the swelling going down (if it does by then) since the original ring is long though IDK. Watch my tongue be really thick to where I can't. My lip rings are like that...the normal studs at Wal-Mart are usually too short for me though they are pretty sometimes .-.

Uh. Yeah. Being a girl, I'd -like- to be able to actually WEAR earrings. Haven't gotten piercings yet.

I had that problem too. Don't get them done at a place that uses the gun. They're bad for you in multiple ways. -speaks because she had them done that way- Most earrings hurt my ears .-. I have to wear studs and I can sometimes wear small hoops. Otherwise they get irritated .-.

they actually dont hurt getting pierced espy, ive only got my ears done though :P

The only reason the gun isn't banned here....is because I am not paying 30 dollars or more for one hole in my lobe or cartiledge. It isn't worth it in my mind...well at least not the lobes especially since you can buy an unused gun and do it yourself....

My ears are both pierced twice in the lobes and my right ear has a ring in the tragus.

That being said, my original ear piercing didn't hurt, my mother did it with ice cubes, a needle and an apple. The second ones I nearly killed the person, they used those stupid guns. I learned long ago that my ears get infected easily, so I've known to keep them clean(with Betadine) and to wear real gold for the first few months. Sadly, when I got my tragus pierced the actual process didn't hurt, but the ear got infected and stayed that way for four months no matter what I did.

Well, actually, only as long as I was following their stupid salt regiment. As soon as I switched to my normal betadine I was fine. Sadly I didn't think about the fact that I slept on that side of my head...so now I don't LOL

I don't usually judge what people choose to pierce, just because I wouldn't get it done doesn't mean others shouldn't. Though, as a personal preference, I don't like most mouth piercings and I really am creeped out by some of the vampire piercings(fang bites?).

I have one piercing per ear, because I'm boring I guess?

It hurt a little with the piercing, but it was gone rather quickly.

Well, I don't see anything wrong with the salt thing, but he have to get it close to perfect and warm....it worked well with my nose....but my tongue and lip rings? MOUTHWASH <3

I don't mind others getting piercings...but I'm quite happy with my one hole per ear XD

That would make me sad, the lip healing...you could've put a ring in outside of work if you had wanted to -just saying.

Guns....the piercings don't heal right in my experience. So maybe that's why yours haven't healed up yet?

And I could never see my mother getting anything beyond the ear piercing she already has.

My ears are the only place on my body that I have pierced at the current moment, and they are the boring and regular piercings. Seriously... I wish that I had a brain when I was in elementary school. I think they are really ugly and I don't even really put anything in them because I don't like piercings in that particular area.

However, I really do want to get my cartilage pierced at some point but i really don't know when quiet yet. Also some point in my life I want to get other things pierced as well... like probably get a lip ring but all in all, I'm not a huge fan of the people who have like piercings all over there face to the point where they can be dragged around with a metal detector. I mean seriously, what the heck is up with that.

But really, I think I'm more of a tattoo person then anything. :)

I prefer piercings over tats...too many tats/a bad one? You're stuck. Piercings? Take it out.

Yes, very good point right there. I'm just saying it's a general preference. I'm not loaded with tattoos myself.. I just have 2 that are symbols that mean something. I've just never seen a piercing that I completely love just yet

I've got a total of 6 earrings , a nosering and one lipring . I had the lipring last , over 4 years ago now , just when I got my boyfriend and I know he hates it . Back then I wanted it to be a snakebite eventually but that wish gradually died over time . I mean , I got to keep the ring I had and didn't get a new one , perfect compromis right ? ;D
I think he got to live with it now xD
In the mean time we did get a tattoo together though , but that's the only thing I got in the last 4 years , and that was just half a year later .

If you don't count me forgetting that one of my earrings closed , that is . In a pretty stupid moment I just thought I lost an earring which hadn't been there for over a year and put a new one in . I kept wondering why it was so hard and painful , until a week later I suddenly realized it wasn't quite right xD

I'm not getting a tattoo together with anyone...though it would be nice to share some of the same elements....but nothing that if we broke up (there is no we...but if there was) that I'd hate the tattoo you know?

I was just saying...because there are advantages and disadvantages of both...like tatts....you don't have to buy new things for...just recolor it in if needed...which can wait, but buying a ring for a piercing when you lost your last one? Can't wait as long -shrugs-

I understand and that's just about the only comment people give me about it , and I must say it gets kind of boring xD
But it's just a plain heart , nothing specific . Whenever things go wrong it's still just a pretty heart .

Well...one of my friends got a star on his hand....and he regrets it (his now ex got one too) Which if you can see it without the connection-good for you : D

It kind of looks like a butt....if you turn your head....just saying. I like it, but I can see a butt too lol

I have only ear piercings and don't want any anywhere else. xD
But I might consider another ear piercing. I have three in right ear - all on earlobe - and two in left - also on earlobe. 4 out of 5 got done with gun, 5th with needle and it didn't hurt more than poking finger with needle. With gun, the worst was the noise. It does sting a little afterwards, and swell a little, but in few hours, it's all gone, Espy. ^^
I am thinking about getting a piercing in either upper ear, but I've heard that it not only hurts but also doesn't heal very well, besides it would be mostly hidden by my hair, so yeah. I think I wouldn't worry about any of those things if I realllly wanted it, though. xD

I don't mind all sort of piercings on other people, even if I don't ant them my self. Although, if your whole face is covered with them, it might seem a little weird to me. But what is done tastefully, I don't really mind. xD It's YOUR face, anyways, so, none of my business. xD

We've seperated for a while two times already , and I don't know , for one or the other reason everything reminded me of him - except for the tattoo xD

I've thought about getting a tattoo, but I can't quite picture anything I would want for the rest of my life. Some butterfly? A flower? I really dunno. xD I am too young to get one anyways, and I have alll the life ahead of me to do it, so, who knows... xD Maybe I will become a crazy lady with her whole body covered with tattoos. (Most likely not, though!)

I'm like ginger, I'm so plain, I feel like I want a naval piercing but it's one of those piercings that can get easily infected

Well take good care of it and be careful...about it getting ripped and all.

And some people's bodies just can't do piercings-they reject them.

I like some of the belly button rings I've seen, but I'm way too overweight for one of those even if I really wanted one.

I just have 2 piercings in the usual spot :P if I ever got another one it would be another ear piercing, not sure where. I cant imagine myself getting a nose piercing, especially the loopies. To me it looks like Amazon warriors...and a bellybutton piercin g would get caught on something, owch!:eek:

Nose rings are find....septums bother me though. That specific one bothers me.

Tell your friend....sea salt and water....soak. Go! Okay...she'll (he?) probably need to put it on something to hold it up there, but it does work.
