Final Fantasy 13-2
I just saw a new trailer for it, and right now I'm melting inside!
First things first, I saw grownup Hope. (... He is.. How do I put it? ... Very polite? Civilized? He sounds like a.. Government official I guess..) And to think he was my favorite character.. He dresses similar to his original outfit, but it is more.. Like my avatar I guess? Then I saw Snow o.e... All I have to say to him is.. WTF HAPPENED? He doesn't have a hat on, and his hair is combed back sorta like Aaron from FFX, his outfit is the same but it is black/red now in color. And he looks more.. Buff, and tough.. He scares me now.. The game will be about Time Travel, making paradoxes ect. So pretty much Chrono Trigger. Which makes me a little excited inside. The game is exactly what Square Enix described it, much darker. From one of the scenes I've seen I already seen Noel (the new hotty hanging around Serah who is apparently from the future and was the last child ever born) killed by the bad guy. And who is this bad guy, well if you've seen the first trailer it is the guy on the title logo for FF13-2. Apparently he can't die.. So after all of what I've seen, this game is probably warming gamers up for the even more darker side Final Fantasy 13 Versus is going to introduce. Discussion anyone? Oh on a side note, Square Enix already registered the Domain for Final Fantasy 13-3. So Final Fantasy 13 might be the first trilogy of the ever Expanding Final Fantasy Series. |
i like these ideas :o
*goes to look* |
Here's the promise trailer....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGnB95Vd24g This is the despair trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53YR9...eature=related I love the new theme, its soo emotional and it makes me want to cry.. |
I've seen the Promise trailer, but missed the cutscenes after the short fight sequence...
...-splutters- Oh gawd. Snow. x____X |
Im not sure what to think about 13-2 i remeber 10-2 was well a flop so to speak with a cult following plus i never really like 13's battle system but i hear the story was quite good im still waiting for 13 agito and type-0
@Espy are you the girl from rusty hearts ? |

I am looking forward to it, if I ever become a serious video gamer again.

The darker the game, the better.
However, even game that comes out only seems to disappoint me further. I have my own vendetta with Square Enix but, for the sake of keeping my FF Goddess title, I continue to buy the games, play them and attempt to retain all of the knowledge that I can. Hopefully, this game doesn't suck balls like it's predecessor. I can only wait and see at this point. |

Well, my problem stems fro mthe fact that I played the PSX games growing up. Once the SE team split up and all of the good people left- the magic left the FF line forever. FFX wasn't so terrible but the characters don't draw me in all that well. FFX-2 was a lot of fun because the leveling system is similar to FFIX. FFXII was just... crap. Completely non-compelling. FFXIII was way too futuristic. There wasa complete lack of the abundance of magic present in the past Final Fantasies. It seems to higher the number they go, the less magic there is. :/ That is the point of FF, MAGIC.
So, that is my issue with SE. They haven't made a GREAT game since FFIX and now they're all about making money because their graphics look good. -huff- |

@Wedding Peach
REALLY? I have NEVER seen or heard anyone agree with me on this before- much less an actual website. O_o Wow... that makes me feel so much better xD Maybe the world will start to realize they are being bamboozled. ^^ |

Final Fantasy is not the only series that has not been doing well for a long period of time. There are others such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Sonic the Hedgehog; although Sonic the Hedgehog has recovered with Sonic Generations, the other two I mentioned were basically ruined for almost the same reasons that Final Fantasy was. The only difference is Final Fantasy was not completely ruined like the other two. |
I completely agree. The original Crash and Spyro games were awesome. My favorites are time warp and year of the dragon. ^^
Thank you for enlightening me to this. I don't read gaming sites and the like but I'm just glad I'm not to only one. |
To me it is sad, the companies want to take a step forward, but they are actually taking a step backward and often do not acknowledge this or acknowledge it but do little about it.
Mean while you have the people who have supported them in the past that are aware of the problem. For example you realize what the problem is with the Final Fantasy series, however the company fails the acknowledge the problem or does not care enough to correct it, thus creates more games that allot do not want. |
This is so unbelievably true. :c I once had a personal goal to work for SE in Japan and help them make games and all that- but as time went on and I watched them completely fail at what they used to be the best at, I reconsidered.

FFIX WAS NOT SQUARE ENIX -flails-
SQUARESOFT FOR THE WIN! They went downhill when they acquired and fused with Enix. And the original Spyro is way better than this new shit...the AI sucks in dawn of the dragon. |

I agree, Peach. Crash just... crashed >> I played the demo for the new one coming out and it is just AWFUL D:
|
@Peach
Well, if they did they same thing, we'd be complaining about how they did the same thing and need to come up with new ideas. Though I was hoping it was just a remake....that's what the internet made it sound like...though I do like Cynder a bit. |
I see the current Spyro and Crash Bandicoot as low budget video games that can not be taken seriously.

@Peach
No they couldn't. We would've complained. And you could say they did the same thing except Spyro can breathe the different elements without having to talk to anyone or whatever he had to do in the older games. They just gave them different attacks. But I hate those flying things! |
Well Spyro was made by the creators of Isomiac (can't spell it) AKA the creators of Ratchet and Clank. They didn't own the trademark and characters of Spyro therefore lost the game. And it became shit.
Now here's my thing with final fantasy. X > Eh.. It's alright.. Hated the characters. X-2 > Made me love the characters, but hated the gameplay. XII > The game was genius, well the battle system that is. The story sucked in all ways possible. Everything else was perfect. Well.. The battle system was confusing, but that's about it. If you ever bothered to learn the gambit system you would appreciate this game more. XIII > I highly agree, too much futuristic stuff in here. And the balance and technology was inefficient and confusing. The story was... Well bland, characters were amazing but extremely straight forward or lacking in story. Overall the game impressed me in the gameplay, and graphics. Overall I think Final Fantasy is doing all right, they are having some floppy moments. But hopefully all is not lost when Versus is release. |
@Illusion- their best games are long in the past, VII, VIII, and IX were their climactic points. Now they are dropping off into second rate gameplay with spectacular graphics. They're riding the way the game looks instead of the way it plays. :/
|
I am interested in how the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV will be, I guess only time will tell.

VIII sucked balls in my opinion. Hated the shit. Couldn't get into the game at all-even more so than XII. Which XIII is better than XII. VII or IX was the best. X and X-2 were alright. Each had their points. I hate the sphere grid though.
And I hated the battle system of XII. HATED! |
IX is my absolute favorite. It has EVERYTHING an FF game should eve have. ^^
VII was ok and I do enjoy VIII. They're both on equal footing for me. ^^ |
Final fantasy VII....I didn't like the magic...I didn't like the GF (though I didn't hate it either) and I only liked what's his face? Leguna?
|
*Laguna; and he's in VIII ^^;
|
I meant VIII!
I forgot an I >> << |
LoL, I thought so ^^
|
ill be the first to admit that im a VII fan boy but at least the older game had a good story and great characters i just cant get into 13 i mean its flashy and looks amazing but it does not have the appeal nor does it draw me in like VII or VII did
|
I never played Final Fantasy XIII, but it probably would have helped if it had used a different type of game play.
|
*rolls around*

I WANT IT, I WANT IT, I WANT IT
i saw a trailer of the game as well and it looks so awesome! i just want to play it xD |
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!!!! D8 I want Fang back!
I didn't buy FF13 until it was already out for a couple of months because I absolutely disliked FF12 so I was afraid of another disappointment. I know a lot of people don't like FF13 but I really liked it. I'm still kind of iffy on getting FF13-2... mainly because I don't really like Serah or what I've seen of Noel. I HATED Hope in the first game but now he looks like he's okay. xD; I may wait for it to be out for a while and if Fang ends up being in it I'll give it a go. >o> I do love Lightning as well but it doesn't look like we'll get to play as her? It looks like it's going to be a good game... it's just that if I don't like the characters that I'm playing as, I'll lose interest. xD; |
I personally loved FF13. Probably one of my absolute favorites. (FF10 is still my #1 favorite though) I loved pretty much all of the characters, except Snow and Sazh =/ I really don't normally like men characters ^^;
I hope (heh, Hope) that FF13-2 will be better than FF10-2. ...... That game was a joke. And I hope my favorite characters will be playable! D8 |
I bought Serah's Engagement Necklace, I played through FF13 twice, and I have FF13-2 reserved. You cannot stop me from getting FF13-2. >_>; |
