Bones!

So, Bones is the first show that I have truly been interested in to the point where I had to watch every episode available ever. Except for Sex and the City, of course.

I really like this show, and the cast of characters. Even the "annoying" characters like Daisy grew on me. ;-;

Do you like Bones?

johnny 07-31-2010 09:16 AM

I looooove Bones! It has to be one of my top five shows.

It's a perfect show to me, because it actually mixes in humor instead of being completely serious 24/7 like other crime procedural shows like CSI.

I think I love every single character. Some are a bit dull (one of the Revolving Interns, the one that has a short relationship with Angela, is just uninteresting to me) but they still benefit from the characters around them being funny and cool.

Demonskid 07-31-2010 03:56 PM

I love this show.. I have season 2 on dvd xD David Borianez is the reason I started watching it.. I use to be a Angel fan until his team turned into this BIG corporation.. But now to see David play a FBI agent just fits him better then being a vampire.. that puppy dog face helps... and his annoyance at noisy stuff is funny. :3 so Booth and Hodjins are my two most favorite characters ^-^

Kyon 07-31-2010 11:36 PM

Yes, I agree with you 100% Johnny! You can't beat humor, romance AND murder!

I hated Angel, so I'm glad I forgot that David Boreanaz was Angel. XDDD

Demonskid 08-01-2010 06:50 AM

Hmmm I think My most favorite Bones episode is... um.. D= I can't think of one! I loved them all! except the episode where Booth is found with a brain tumor >< I disliked that one..

#FFFFFF 08-01-2010 12:00 PM

I love love love Bones. x]
It's such an amazing show and it makes me laugh as well as confused. That's always a good mixture, ja?

Kalei 08-10-2010 12:52 AM

I like the bones, even though I haven't seen every episode. My favorite part is the deep characterization, like how Bone's Logical mind is good for solving murders, but hinders her when she has to deal with people. I don't know if that made sense, but basicly I like how no one's close to being Mary Sue.

Bina Fydan 08-10-2010 12:58 AM

YEY! A thread about Bones! What an awesome show. I love the plot, humor and intelligence of the people. xD Booth and Brennan are great characters.

Gozed 09-01-2010 04:30 AM

My parents and I used to sit and watch it every week, it was our family get together time haha, but that kinda just ended at some point. I watched it cause I was a David fan from him on Angel, and my mom had read the books that the show is based off of.

Raine Dragon 09-13-2010 08:52 PM

I do rather like Bones.. though, I'm not always a fan of the gore. x__x sometimes things get a little messy on that.. and other similar shows. >.<

johnny 09-14-2010 12:02 AM

There is absolutely nothing gory they could show on TV that would freak me out.

I know it's just silicone, corn syrup, and food dye. All I see really is the materials used to make the fake effects. I watch waaaay to many behind-the-scenes DVD specials. xD

Lucid: 09-14-2010 12:03 AM

I watched a snake get its head cut off and sliced open on some nature show my dad was watching. that freaked me out.

I don't watch Bones just because I don't watch many TV shows. I don't have the time.....because I spend it all on Trisphee. XD

Shenandoah 12-16-2010 10:03 AM

I love bones. It's an excellent show with well rounded characters.

I've actually been reading the Temperance Brennan novels by Kathy Reichs and they're pretty good, too. I have been sitting back and enjoying the differences between Tempe in the books and Tempe in the show. For one example, Temperance Brennan in the books works in Montreal in a forensics lab and not the Jeffersonian in Washington. She has a sister nicknamed 'Harry', a daughter named Kate, and has been married and separated from her husband for a long time.

Echo-chan713 12-16-2010 04:33 PM

I like bone, it teaches me what bone it is with their scientific names for each bone

Kit Katy 12-27-2010 08:50 PM

Bones is beyond awesome! Temperance has a funny character with her lack of social skills. My favorite scene is when she tries to talk like a beach buzz. xD

Echo-chan713 02-27-2011 07:06 PM

My favorite is the quote

"STOP, or I'll kick you right in the testacles!" XD

Desmond 04-09-2011 01:48 PM

I love Bones. The chemistry between the characters is amazing. But I would have to say that the reason I watch it is because, even if you miss an episode you still know whats going on. Yes, there is an overall story arch of each season but its so well thought out and put into the episodes and not hidden, that, it's easy to follow and understand.

It's just awesome! I love it when Bones has to translate the scientific speak into "normal human speech" for Booth. It makes me laugh EVERY time.

Ashley 04-09-2011 02:37 PM

I love bones. It's one of the few shows that I actually care enough about to watch every episode <3.

Fey 04-09-2011 09:58 PM

I <3 bones too...though I'll admit I tend to love the side characters as much, if not more than the main. I do like Brenan and Booth(and ship them, hard), but I like Hodgins and Angela, and I sorta miss Bones' grad student Zach.... Though some of her other interns are hilarious!

Desmond 04-12-2011 12:13 AM

I loved Zach. He was a younger version of Bones and it made me so happy to watch him learn and interact with everyone around him. I also loved how he and Hodgins had a really awesome friendship. Hodgins would take the time to teach him and help him understand what we take for granted...it didn't hurt that they did awesome side experiments. hehe.

Fey 04-12-2011 10:23 AM

hehe, yes! King of the Lab! I sorta miss that in-joke...occasionally Hodgins'll bring it up.... I can't pick out of Bones' new interns whom I like the most, they're all quirky fun, even Daisy.

Echo-chan713 04-12-2011 11:39 AM

I have all of Bones on my Netflix. Come to my apartment and we can all watch Bones

Fey 04-12-2011 09:30 PM

LOL a murder-a-thon!

Fey 05-19-2011 11:15 AM

poking this back up to see what people thought of the season finale...no spoilers in case someone hasn't seen it yet(it's on hulu if you haven't).

I really felt the episode before was more of a good season end than this one, but I did enjoy it.

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 06:27 PM

A show in a similar vein is called Numb3rs. It has some very similar themes, along with a main character who is usless when it comes to social happenings.

Ashley 05-22-2011 01:31 PM

Fey- I liked the season finale. The episode before it made me sad though ;n;.

Lunaryon- We've been watching some episodes of numb3rs in one of my classes and I don't find it as interesting as Bones. It's not bad though.

Rose Pearl 05-26-2011 05:48 PM

Ashley 06-03-2011 12:09 PM

I can't wait for the next season X3

Desmond 06-03-2011 08:42 PM

Me either. I really can't. o.o I finally saw this years ending and omg I freaked at that ending.

johnny 06-04-2011 10:38 AM

I loved the Bones season finale.

Fey 06-05-2011 09:28 AM

Johnny, I feel ya, still bitter they made my favourite intern the bady...poor Zach...

Quiet Man Cometh 06-12-2011 03:36 PM

Which intern did they kill? It wasn't the black guy who wants to avoid all the drama was it? Or the jumpy brained chatty guy? Those are my favourites (forgive me, I'm terrible with names.)

My mom and I love the show. I don't really follow it enough but the fact that I can still enjoy it even only watching a few episodes now and then is a definite plus in my opinion. I love how the two characters, Booth and Brennan, interact. The whole opposites thing is common is just about every TV show it's played really well. One of my favourite scenes is in the episode where they find the body mushed between the boxes and people start out thinking it's the Virgin Mary. Booth's reverence then immediate switch to "business as usual" once he learns it's human blood makes me smile. :).

I didn't watch Angel much but I did watch Buffy and know David from that. He can act now, he's great! I think he suits the humour role so much better than the brooding vampire guy in early Buffy.

"He'll do it! He shot a clown once." - hee hee!

johnny 06-13-2011 12:36 PM

They killed Vincent Nigel-Murray, the English guy with all the random trivia and stuff.

He was my absolute faaavorite.

And his death scene made me cry. :C

Quiet Man Cometh 06-13-2011 09:57 PM

Oh no! I loved that guy. Did he get a good death scene out of it? How did he die, anyway?

johnny 06-14-2011 10:17 AM

It would take a lot of explaining for me to describe how he died, so it'd just be better if you watched the episode.

And yes, the death scene was good, but I still wish it'd never happened. The other Interns just aren't that interesting to me. He was hilarious and quirky.

I would have preferred it if Wendell had been the one killed off, really. The really bland guy who's appeared the most times.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-15-2011 02:16 AM

Was Wendell the guy who passed for the geek at the comic/sci-fi/whatnot convention?

johnny 06-15-2011 01:48 PM

I don't really remember. He's the blond guy.

He was the one who had a thing with Angela for a while. He had money problems and a lot of episodes were about his money problems. He was really the Intern that was the closest to being a "real" member of the cast, with the most back story and the most interactions with the main characters, but he was the most dull in my opinion. Absolutely bland.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-16-2011 01:14 AM

Ah. I think I only saw one with him, that being the first one where he thinks Dr. Brennan is hitting on him and the supervisor (can't remember her name) thinks me might be involved with the mob. They guy's who's neighbours and such paid to send him to school.

Fey 06-18-2011 09:57 PM

Hey! I like Wendell :( I'd be sad if they killed him...I mean I was sad they got Nigel-Murray, but still, Wendell is my favourite. After Zach. But yeah, I cried buckets when they did it. The short of it was the bad guy was triangulating on Booth's cell, he gave it to the tech to answer so he could trace the call and the bad guy assumed it was Booth on the other end and shot him. Just the wrong him.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-18-2011 10:48 PM

Awwww. *pout*

*Leaves small boquet of english roses and a bee hive for Nigel*

*sniff.*
