Mac or PC

So I'm curious as to what you all think and prefer when it comes to computers.

Are you a Mac or a PC? And why did you choose whichever of the two you chose?

I'm a Mac and just love using my Macbook Pro cause I find it's a lot more user-friendly, faster, and aestetically pleasing. :3
I also love the way graphics look on it, and just how it works overall. (:

Now, what about you?

Ishu 11-10-2011 04:39 PM

PC please. ^^ It's much simpler and has much fewer compatibility issues.

Alpha 11-10-2011 05:22 PM

I prefer a Mac, simply because it is easy to use and fairly sturdy and reliable on the whole.

I have used PCs most of my life though and my next big leap is going to be getting a Macbook Pro in a few weeks. Having said that, PCs are getting fairly more reliable in terms of ease of access, being user-friendly, etc.

Serra Britt 11-10-2011 05:39 PM

Since I use my computer mostly for games I basically have to pick Windows over Mac. Since most companies make the games only for Windows.

☪ஐﻬ☽ I am a PC but I really want a mac still. No matter what I
want to get a mac. >.> Just too bad that it costs
too much to get a laptop mac. But I do want to
get one. Maybe someday in the future I can buy one.
I hope that is.

Yeah, I think that's another reason a lot of people choose to get a PC because it's cheaper. But Macs are also having less compatibility issues as well as video game companies are starting to realize that a lot of people use Macs as well as PCs. :3

Wedding Peach 11-10-2011 06:59 PM

I prefer the PC over the MAC, because I had a hard time using the MAC.

☪ஐﻬ☽ I'm used to alot of different programs on windows but I've
wanted to use Mac for awhile now for some reason.
I don't really know why but I do want to. I did
get one but that one was a older mac and it for
some reason wouldn't let me connect to the router
for the house so I can share files on my windows
pcs in the house with my mac, since all my files
were on a pc. But that version I had wouldn't be
able to do that, so I have to get a new one in order
to do everything I want to do. I can use linux but
it's hard to handle at times. I spent like a few
hours trying to get one program to work, something
I know won't happen with a mac.

I have a Mac and personally love it. If you want to do gaming you can split the hard drive and get a dual operating system but i personally have no problems with using OS Lion.

And if you did, how does it work? Like is it a great

I'm a PC and it's mostly because if my PC blue screens, I can fix it easy (or one of my friends can), if a Mac dies, it dies (for the most part) and then you've got to send it off to get it fixed.

Arikana 11-12-2011 12:35 PM

Yeah, but as long as you treat all computers you use well, Macs live longer better lives. >_>;

Also: So excited! Going to finally upgrade my Mac to at eh OS X Lion today or in one of the upcoming days! <3

I have a question which is better for a laptop. Macbook
Air or Pro?

Depends on what you are wanting it for. Air is more for functionality while the Pro is more for operational capacity. So, in simpler terms, the Macbook Air is better for working, while the Macbook Pro is for gaming/multi-tasking, etc.

I have to say
I have a mac
and I absolutely hate the damned thing
i don't know what to do when it screws up
i can't open certain programs at the same time
I'm used to a PC
but I think it varies from person to person, how it would work
i used to love working with Macs so I was like "LET ME GET ONE"
bad idea.

Alpha 11-15-2011 09:42 PM

No problem, glad I could help. And each person is unique when it comes to their experience with a computer, be it PC or Mac. Just a matter of preference and what you are looking for overall.

Rinni 11-15-2011 10:47 PM

PC; Rinni needs her right-click, dang it. XD

Ashurato 11-15-2011 11:24 PM

Once I switched to Mac, I never switched back.
My PC was constantly inundated by viruses and keeping my software updated was a pain.

I find Macs easier to navigate. My Mac has also lasted me without an issue for the last five years.
My PC died within two.

It is actually less common to have viruses on Macs than on PCs, but don't be fooled since there are those that will still create them. Just because they are less common does not mean that they don't exist. That being said, I again advocate Macs along with a good anti-virus software and firewall.

Baya 11-17-2011 04:31 PM

I have an asus g73 right now and this thing is the epicness itself. It looks cool and has less or more the same specifics than a macbook pro. I have classmates who have a mac, and they paid 400 to 600 euros more than me. plus i have a very good cooling (max temperature I got was 52 degrees after gaming for about an hour).

The only major downside of this thing is that it's barely portable and weights a ton.It also takes some time to start up and shut down.

(about macs who don't crash: the first computer to crash in our class was a mac(only 2 months old). It wasn't anything serious, luckily, but I think the girl lost her progress)

Alpha 11-30-2011 07:24 PM

I officially have my Macbook Pro. Love it.

Foxy 12-13-2011 10:32 PM

I love my PC, I built this computer and the one before it and they both lasted me 10 years (or close to it). It's sturdy and forgiving. :)

Hera 12-13-2011 10:36 PM

PC because you can do so much MORE.

hyjin 12-14-2011 12:04 AM

PC just because I know how to build my stuff from scratch cheap and great for gaming.:D

Alpha 12-14-2011 12:32 AM

Yeah, PC is good for building, but I like the Mac for its reliability and versatility....also its easy user interface.

hyjin 12-14-2011 12:38 AM

meh... i tried to use a mac... it made me think... =(

DoubleBarrel 12-18-2011 07:02 PM

I love my mac, i've dropped it a few times, with no damage 0-0 but i also like that it is a lot more user friendly than pc's (at least for me) and it is a lot more reliable. my old pc, i would try to rip a CD, and the whole thing would start rattling. It got to a point where i had to hold it on the desk or else it would rattle itself off! And about the compatibility thing, i got microsoft office for mac (it's pricey but worth it!) and that's what i do my online school work on so my teachers can access it. it's kinda bad though, b/c it's gotten to the point to where I hardly know how to use a PC anymore... :\

Echo-chan713 12-18-2011 09:18 PM

I love my PC from HP

hyjin 12-18-2011 11:59 PM

love my HP laptop... desktop i own a Acer that i severely upgraded to my specifications... what can i say im a hardcore gamer and i love tinkering my pc

LadyCopperFoxx 12-19-2011 03:29 AM

PC.
Macs just... ugh.
I had to use them in school, and I could never figure them out. Trying to figure out how to do anything took me about 20 minutes. AND we had the mice that didn't right click. I RAGED. I couldn't do any of my shortcuts.
I'm a pretty big gamer, too.
I'm definitely a Microsoft girl. My Xbox 360 attests to that.

_LOST_ 12-19-2011 10:33 AM

PC all the way

Alpha 12-21-2011 06:11 PM

my big thing with all this is that if you use a Mac you can go straight to a PC and understand it (for the most part). If you use a PC however, it takes a bit to get used to the Mac. And the mice do "right click", but not quite the way you think it is. Have to use two fingers...at least on the touchpad for the MacBooks.

hyjin 12-25-2011 03:10 AM

I tried to use a Mac once and i got confused... sorry im way to used to a windows pc to try to use a Mac...

Alpha 12-25-2011 03:14 PM

I used to think that, but it's actually lot easier to get used to than you think. After the initial "shock of it", it is easy to switch between the two.

Ducky 12-31-2011 11:08 AM

I myself am a PC. I use my PC for gaming and video editing mostly, beside web browsing and other small tasks like that. I also love to be able to customise and tinker with my PC. building, upgrading and even repairing is a hobby to me. While Macs are arguably better for Video/photo editing, they're not ideal for gaming, or tinkering

If you just want something that works, looks good, is simple to understand, and don't mind extra cost for that I would recommend a Mac. I definitely don't have anything against Macs, they just don't suit me

Tiva 12-31-2011 11:11 AM

The gaming community is slowly starting to include Mac, I know Blizzard has a Mac platform.

Ducky 12-31-2011 11:15 AM

I wouldn't go out and say macs are bad for gaming, like a lot of people like to say. They simply don't have a game library that can compare to that of the PC. Though, as you have said, that is changing.

I think I'd still be a PC if the Mac did share all game releases, as a PC is far simpler to upgrade yourself to keep up with the demands of modern games

Alpha 12-31-2011 04:28 PM

I would say that that doesn't quite apply in all circumstances. In fact, Macs are becoming easier to upgrade. The only difference being that most of the work has to be done by someone at an Apple Store due to the fact that they are a bit secretive and unforgiving to those who dare to attempt the upgrade themselves.
