Enthusiastic RPers wanted :D
Hey everyone, love a good RP? I know I do. Problem is it's hard to find good people to rp with, or a good plot, or even to get the person to come back and post. Well, unfortunately I can't fix those problems, but I can offer a place where I'll be upfront about my skill level, ideas, and time commitments.
1. I'm a decent rper, though mostly in chat rooms and not very often in forums. But I do understand that you do more detailed posts in general. That being said, I understand and accept short posts IF it seems like nothing much else can be done. Otherwise, details please. 2. I'm a college student, so depending on what work/exams/projects will be going on I might only get on about 1-2 times a week during the busy times. If you don't mind that, we're good. 3. No, and I repeat, NO chat speak in the rp. No lol's, wtf's, cuz's or anything of the such EXCEPT in the case where, for some reason, we're rping people who are on a computer and chatting like that. That is the ONLY except. Also, good grammar and spelling are appreciated though I understand typos and some awkward wording here and then. 4. I love coming up with ideas, but what I love even more is developing ideas with my fellow rper's. So I'm going to list some stuff, but if you have an ideas I'm open to it as well and we'll see what we can come up with. 5. 1-1 rp's or group, it's all good to me as long as people follow the order (in the case of groups) and don't make the others wait too long or go against other posts. There might be the rare occasion where someone points out 'you can't do that because it contradicts (insert contradiction)' and then you'll be asked to change the post. Nothing to do with skill, but I like to keep things consistent. 6. For 1-1 rp's, be prepared to play more than one character. I'm not going to ask for character sheets, but I would like if you have some basic ideas for each one so if I end up asking questions before a post then I don't do something that technically can't be done. Also, no good story has just two characters. There's the supporting cast, so get hold auditions and see who makes the cut on your final list. 7. Ideas A. Were Cat Island B. Three Witches Boutique C. Spirits of the Forest D. Choose Your own adventure SO, if you're interested, message on this or PM me :) All are welcome to apply. |
I have been looking for new rp partners recently and i'm very interested in trying it out with you
I like the three witches boutique idea and would like to discuss with you options if you'd like samples, let me know, and don't take my normal typing as a sample of my rp writing please, i'm much more formal and detail-oriented. |
Cool, well I think the basics to be figured out first are 1. What species you want your character to be/what world they're from. Human and Earth are fine, but you can do something else if you want. 2. Decide which sister you want to lead you on the journey. And warning, they are a bit stereotypical but they each have their own depth. Lina: Oldest, looks youngest. Sensible and impatient. Mina: Middle, likes to party and a bit irresponsible. Rina: youngest, little slow but when she gets things she really gets things. 3. Also, ideas for different worlds to explore, we can toss back some ideas and see what comes.
|
Stereotypes are there for a reason - sometimes they work. besides, i think these witches seem more trope-y than cliched. I think I'd let you choose which witch (lol) to lead me would make it more fun - a mystery for me.
the character I'd want to use would be originated in earth - a pixie boy, so he's of the Fae but he's not powerful or anything. He's rather average which makes him interesting to me. Different worlds to explore - perhaps they find a fracture in the fabric of their world leading to various parallels? or time travel? or an unsavory combination of both? perhaps a god/gods have called them or are directing the witches? I don't know. Run with it. I'm turning in for the night but I'll be back on tomorrow with more ideas. |
Well, the basic idea I had for the Witches RP (though totally up for change) is the character ends up going to different worlds in different universes and ends up getting several things for the witches which end up helping the person on a final, epic question of awesome proportions and such. Tons of opportunities for different characters, worlds, and just a lot of fun other stuff.

Hello. :3
I like your requirements - they are very sane. I am often busy my self, but I can post every 3 days or so, for sure. I love to make ideas, too (have some posted in my role play search thread) and I like your were cat one (because I am quite into feline shapeshifter/spirit tribe, etc. ideas). I have this character I would love to develop from really random fantasy character to something more firm, but uhm, first tell me if there is something you're 'craving' to do. |
sounds neat to me. that's actually what I was thinking about last night, though I had more along the lines of the witches 'using' the character to get items they need (not in a bad way, but they give him an adventure in the process) it sounds like we've got similar ideas.
right, then, it sounds great and the best thing to do now start laying out a vague plot. I have other friends who enjoy rping and might join later if it's okay with you, or we can do one on one if you prefer. Are you big on details? |
@DC, I'm fine with other people joining later on as long as they make sure to at least skim the previous posts so they know what's going on and don't randomly do stuff that contradicts what's gone on before. Depends on how much of the details we should plan out, though definitely some basics for the first world and some simple things about the characters that are going to be started out, but the rest should be done as we go along I think.
@Sadrain Not really craving anything at the moment, just up to try different things. My only cravings atm are for the novel I'm working on in my free time, for the rest I'm open for tons of different things. |
I am up for a rp. I like the werewcat island though I would prefer it if it were like lost, where they stumbled upon another plane of existence that way we can make up our own rules and society.
I do have a question what types of pairings do you like to play? |

Would you like to play the werecat thing in one on one(s) or group?
|
XD groups are next to impossible here on this site. If we can manage a group I would be more then happy to join in. If not a one on one is just as fun.
|
Well, it's just that I think playing same scenario in two different one on ones is a little strange, if she would be interested in playing it with me as well, or something. xD
|
Ah xD and I do not mind a small group really. I do not mind doubling characters but it is up to Kas. Though I find it strange you and I have not started an rp Rain.
|
@Poggio
Not really sure what you mean by pairings, do you just mean just gender for romance or for adventuring or what. Your idea sounds cool for the werecat one, so we could definitely talk about that and think some things up. @Sadrain Not sure if you were directing that to Poggio, me or both, but I'm ok with groups or 1-1 just as long as people work ok with each other and no one has to be hunt down for posts. For the werecat one I think it might be better to do 1-1, at least at first and maybe see where it goes. *note I wrote that before there was this weird error thing SO To both of you, if you wanna do group or just 1-1 with me for similar scenarios I'm good with either :) |
I mean both really gender wise and genre wise. The second is good to know in case the werecat rp does not work out or we want to start another one outside of it.
|
Haha, you do Poggio? xD Because we both post so often in other rp search threads? I guess you're somewhat right. P=
Well, I am sort of idea-less, except for that one fantasy-no-plot-in-stone thing, where my 'princess' character goes on epic adventure to lift a curse. x_x; |
In response to your earlier response, that sounds fine to me. Do you mind if I let you set up the initial details? Because it's your world/idea, I don't want to botch things up
Also, what medium to you prefer to RP through - forum or pm, email or other? and I'd need to know any specific no-nos aside from obvious (no godmodding or mary sues) if there are any. I look forward to starting up :3 |
@Poggio
I'm good with any gender when it comes to pairings, though I don't want to do an rp that is mainly romance. Adventure in front, romance on the side type of thing. As for genres, I'm good with medieval-modern time period wise, or alternate realities, fantasy realities. I'm not the biggest fan of sci-fi rps I guess. I like magic better than science ^^; @DC That's cool with me, do you want me to let you in on what I'm planning or just surprise you? Also, I'm thinking forums. This'll help if you want people to join in later because they can just go through the forum posts and see what's happened. Also, I wants the Aurums, lol. Also, I'd prefer third person/past tense posting. |
Third person/pasttense is my regular style as well, the medium is always whatever my partner wants... unless it's romance i don't do public romance.
you can go ahead and surprise me because I think i work well on my feet like that... that didn't come out right. well. Do you want a character profile/illustration of the character I plan to use? |
As in all of the best true stories, romance is what happens on the side. I am not going to be vying for romance in any form, but if it happens naturally then it works. As for a profile, I think if, after I start the thread in the private rp section, if you just include the important facts about your character, like a little background and a physical description, that should be fine. I'll post in here with the name of the thread once I've got it up, which'll probably be sometime either Wednesday or Thursday.
|
that's the best explanation of it i've ever heard. i'm fine with romance on the sidelines, but it's rarely the main focus of my roleplays.
So i shall leave you to it then. Let me know when the thread is up, and thank you. also, my avatar can represent my character. |
Well at this point I am leaving it up to you and Sadrain, unless you wish to do two rps with the same plot. Like I said I am all for a group and I do not mind doubling characters. I usually play males and prefer mxm relationships but if we are going to be in a group, I do not mind doubling for any one that likes to play females. I am also all for natural romance so that if it doesnt work out it doesnt work out.
As for the werecats, are they free changing or under the moon changing werecats? And if its an alternate universe are their other races that exist? |
They're werecats with the ability to change whenever they wish. They're sort of unique in how they came to be (in my head at least). I made them for a story I was working on and modded them for the rp. Basic back story is there once was a boy named Tom who's only friend was a cat. One day Tom got very sick and the cat was sad, knowing Tom was dying, so he offered his body to Tom, so he could have a new, stronger one. This lead to Tom being a werecat, but the only one of his kind and immortal. Lonely, he finally found a way to make more werecats. With the help of some wizards Werecat Island was made, where all the werecats are born. The wizards set a trap though, so that the cats could only leave the island with a special medallion or with a 'Master'. They also only had nine live, unlike Tom who was immortal. Tom is linked to every one of them, not strongly, but he knows when one loses a life. For a few generations a line of wizards kept taking cats until an apprentice with a kind heart learned how to make the medallions and showed Tom. So now the island floats around, protected in some ways with cats leaving every now and then for adventure, though most are content on the island with Tom as the leader... Wow that was more than I thought it'd be.
|
So, now that you know the long history, I guess the next thing to decide is what would be best for the story in general? If it's a group you two would have to discuss both of your characters getting there, since it'd probably work better if you both arrived on the island at the same time. From that point it can either stem off into two different rps that can intermingle with each other, or stay one pure one or whatever, though the former sounds pretty interesting to me. Votes?
|
o-o that sounds really awesome, and I am already coming up with an idea for a character based on the idea for the original story. How are other were cats made? And I am game for a group if Sadrain is xD.
|
It's a little sad actually, they have the souls of stillborn/prenatally dead babies *cry*. Some souls wander around and go to the final resting place, but some make it to the island and that is when a new werecat appears. Werecats don't reproduce with each other.
|
*p* That sounds like such a awesome plot - about the werecat thing. I think that's one mini-group thing I could get into it, if you take me into company!
I wonder, though, if they are such souls, do they remember their lives that they were supposed to have (as they say, each child chooses his/hers parents) and do they grow up/mature (as werecats) or already show as grown ups, and is there love, jealousy, hate things or all are one big friendly group? Can/can't they have children in general? |
Hmm with a little tweaking and depending on your answer to sad's question, I can jive with that. Can a mortal cross over with one of the mediallians?
|
They don't remember being humans, and it's something even Tom doesn't know. It's more something that I wrote out as an explanation, but that doesn't mean the characters know it. They do start out as kittens and grow up, and each time they die/lose a life they start over as kittens. They cannot have children. And considering that, in essence, they are people there are a wide variety of characters within the community. Some get along just fine, some don't.
In the original story there was not a way for a current human to turn into a werecat, but for the rp that can be tweaked. Not with the medallion though since that is more just, in a way, part of the spell on the werecats born from the one spell. If a human were to be transformed into a werecat they probably wouldn't need a medallion |
DK, I set up a thread in the private rp section called 'Three Witches Boutique', and the first post is included with the lovely lady that will be your character's travel guide.
|
Sounds good. Make a character description post next, is what I do? or would you prefer i just start in a post and describe him in it? and would you like a picture?
also, my avatar will represent him. |
Hmm, I see, Kasolyna. However, shouldn't Tom know they were once humans, since he asked for a way for more werecats to be born?
And, do they all transform in same kind of wild felines, or it depends? Or they transform in house cat kind of felines? On what level are their culture, I wonder? Hnn. Also! Do they form 'sort of families', such as two werecats living together and taking one of the newly appeared cubs/kittens in to raise him/her as sort of their own, or all kittens/cubs are children of the whole community? |

EDIT: Woops for double post Dx |
Tom wasn't the one that cast the magic, he only found the wizards who would be capable of doing it. If he had paid closer attention he would have realized that there was also going to be a hidden slavery cause in the magic. He has his own theories on where the werecats come from, but there are a few of them and he doesn't know how to find out if any are true.
I would say, overall, it starts out with a village raising a child but then the new werecat finds others it bonds with and goes off with whoever many people that is. And of course, each werecat has their own level of involvement, which can range from none to extremely involved. They can transform into different types of cats, though it is very rare that someone will be a lion or tiger or some other wild cat. Mostly they're housecat types. Level of culture is somewhat minimum, technology wise at least. They live on a magical island which generally provides what they need to survive and those that don't like it are free to leave. As for how it's set up there is the leader, Tom, and a few higher ups that dictate things. 'The Nine', though mostly they don't do much unless there is drama going on that could affect the overall peace. It's more just a back-up measure and the Nine socialize like normal kitties with the rest of the bunch. |
Awww, mostly only house cats? Okay.png
Free to leave? o_O As in the village, right? So there are possibly various villages that get along only so-so? And it does sound pretty awesome. *_* I do want to be in, definitely. :D |
They're free to leave the island if they so choose since every werecat is made a medallion by Tom when they are 'born'. There's a boat on the island that will bring a werecat to the nearest shore at the time before returning to the island.
|
"at the time"? Does the island float about? o_O
Woah, imagine if someone met a werecat that was "expelled" and wanted to return... |
Yes, it's a magical, floating island. It's one of the ways it escapes detection from the rest of the world, and that idea does sound pretty cool.
|
we good to go then?
