Lets make Trisphee a bigger place TOGETHER

What I want most on Trisphee is to see over 500 people on Trisphee daily, now what could I do to achieve that goal? So after writing down a small list I'm starting with number 1.

1.Get people to help.
Everyone here wants to see more people on, we all here have the same goal one way or another. So why don't we gather our resources and go out together as a team? Just post now saying "I will help!" And I'll put your name on a list. Why? Because once your name is written down, you will feel inclined to help out by that taunting name.

2.Share the site with others.
So come on a Share the website on Facebook, make status updates about Trisphee to your friends, and family. Blog about Trisphee, talk more excessively about Trisphee on other Avatar Websites like Gaia Online, and ect.

Now before I get to step 3, by now we should be having our member base grow much higher. In result there will be people more likely to purchase runes, thus money for Trisphee.

3.Have the site create advertisements
Push Fenris to make some advertisements for a month or two during Summer, the time were most teens are spending most of their time. So make Facebook ads, those maybe advertisement bars on the side of the screen.

Now if we have Step 3 take off our membership base will be booming. Soon we will have at least 1,000+ people or more on daily, at this point we have accomplished twice then what we wanted. Good is more, yes?
Now lets not be skipping steps, lets just have people join us! Gather some people online now, say "Hey! Illusion is urging people to sign up to Trisphee, lets go help!" Once someone says sign me up on here they should be jumping onto Step two.

Lets make Trisphee a bigger place together!

Just wanted to ask some questions here.

Question 1: How many people would you be comfortable having online daily/at the same time?

Question 2: How do we maintain a hype to have people go out and mention the site to friends?

Question 3: Do you feel OK using Facebook as a use of advertisement? (Sharing, using likes, ect.)

Question 4: Should Trisphee be advertised IRL? (Banners, Cards handed out at conventions, ect.)

Question 5: How do you want Trisphee NOT to turn out like.

Question 6: How do you want Trisphee to turn out like.

Fenris 03-25-2012 02:06 AM

I appreciate yor efforts and hope it gets somewhere :) But unfortunately I don't think it helps that I do so much of the pixeling by myself at the moment. Unless I can take Tris on as a full time job I don't have the 50-60+ hours I am forcing myself to devote to Tris weekly.

Coda 03-25-2012 12:45 PM

Advertising for Trisphee costs money, unfortunately. We had a free Google ads trial that we ran for a month but we didn't get much out of that. Right now if we had the money for advertising we'd rather spend it on site improvements.

Illusion 03-25-2012 01:40 PM

Lets do math here..

More people = More Donations + Save money = Advertisements = More people = More money = More Servers = Bigger Trisphee.

What kind of math are you not doing? xD

Fauxreal 03-25-2012 01:49 PM

More people doesn't necessarily mean more donations. I know both Arikana and I are newer members, but unless there is a Mail-In option, neither of us can donate. I'd love to ~ But I need to send concealed cash.

But yes I do think it would bring a bit more moneies. It takes a lot of effort though, and another pixelist for SURE!

Lucid: 03-25-2012 01:54 PM

Semi: has been looking into putting advertisements on his personal site to earn a bit more money. He knows of a few different ways we can take it. If users are okay with advertisements on Trisphee, he, Fen, and Coda can get something set up so we can make some more money. With that we can better improve the site and maybe put out more advertisements for ourselves as well. We just have to have a commitment from users that they're okay with it, maybe even teach users how to turn off adblock on Trisphee, et cetera.

Crevan 03-25-2012 02:03 PM

I'm all for reasonable no noise advertisement. If it helps bring in money to the site. But so long as it doesn't turn into a billboard I think I will be fine. I mean it's a step in the right direction of getting more money into the site and it helps with improvement. Which will help keep those new users interested in the site. I would think anyways.

Illusion 03-25-2012 02:10 PM

*Points up to first post

There are many free ways to advise the site, which in turn makes money, and I listed making advertisements for step 3 for a reason. Yes, adsense would be nice to have in a corner for a while to build money.
But you guys are missing my point, the reason why I'm doing this is because all members of the site can easily share Trisphee on Facebook. Share the facebook page, mention it frequently to friends on other forum sites. (Perhaps I should use one of my saved posts to discuss on how to advertise... My bad there.)
The problem here is everybody on staff ignores the potential with their users because you haven't figure out efficient ways have members go out and advertise for you. I've seen the referral contests, but that was never a good way to promote the site. So instead you just sit around and hope someone mentions the site for you. Why not take a step up from that?

All I'm saying its been almost 2 years now since the site has officially opened, by now most sites have over 300 people on daily. I just think we could do more to have users come here, and not leave because the place is inactive. AKA Boring.

Coda 03-25-2012 03:11 PM

I'm not missing the point at all; I was making a comment about a specific thing, not trying to divert attention from your goal. ^^;

Tiva 03-25-2012 03:17 PM

Not that I don't want new user but 300 a day is a lot of users... I promoted some to my friends on Facebook but I didn't get much out of it.

Things you can do:
Share the Trisphee page to everyone, and say "Sign up today at Trisphee.com! And like the Facebook page!"
And simply copy Trisphee's URL and make a status update about it numerous times.

Non facebook things:
Do you go on Gaia or any other customizable avatar sites? Go to rally, or their forums and just talk to people. Make friends, and go hey there is this awesome customizable avatar site I go on. You should join.
If they say no just reply "Well I'll love to see your awesomeness on the website."
Or you can simply go to friends profiles and go "Hey here's an awesome avatar site I go on! Go sign up!"

That. I've tried it before; most of my friends are too busy.

Well keep doing it, and if you run out of friends, make more. There is nothing bad about making more friends. ;D

Espy 03-25-2012 03:30 PM

.....It's that simple-yet-doesn't-quite-work logic that bugs me a bit. I'm not one to shove sites into friends' faces. Funkie, Stray, and Len are the only ones who've joined, despite my efforts.

No offense and all.

Illusion 03-25-2012 03:34 PM

Trust me, just getting one person makes a difference. Especially if you can get that one person to help get more people.

While I do see the point in this, on some sites and this includes gaia. Doing that is against the Terms of Service of the site. Because you are "post advertisements or solicitations of business"

....That's very true. Was wondering what was wrong with that suggestion, and couldn't word it right.

That would be true if you bluntly go around on forums asking random people to join. This is why I said friends, and not random people. Do you really think your friends will report you for asking them to come talk to you on another site?

Demonskid 03-25-2012 03:41 PM

If it makes you feel better Illu.. I advertise through my fanfictions when I can get around to updating them. One of them is actually based on Trisphee itself ouo. Its a trisphee/Gundam wing cross over..

^-^ I managed to get Quiet here through that Fanfic hehe

Alpha 03-25-2012 03:42 PM

It doesn't who it's to, it is still violating the Terms of Service. You aren't supposed to, and frankly it is just annoying. Especially if you don't know the person that well, or just go jumping from one "friend's" page to another posting things like that.

Espy 03-25-2012 03:42 PM

Taiki's a genius at bringing people over.

Illusion 03-25-2012 03:45 PM

So your saying you can't have a good conversation with a friend and go hey theres this one site, ect?

Tiva 03-25-2012 03:47 PM

No you are popping from wall to wall posting the exact same thing to people you don't quite know, it is like a spam-bot, annoying.

Espy 03-25-2012 03:49 PM

I've tried that, Illu. Got quite a few awkward convo endings.

Illusion 03-25-2012 03:50 PM

Well I'm not saying to do that xD
I'm glad were talking about this, that way I can post it up in the 2nd post a step by step so we won't have this problem.

@Espy
Really? Never happened to me, last time I did this on Gaia was last year. I was also silly and put it in my signature. (Don't make that mistake.)
And look at my referrals today. Still the same amount, but 30 is quite a bit of people. Especially if they get people also.

Alpha 03-25-2012 03:52 PM

You have been doing it. I know of at least three cases where you have been randomly posting on peoples walls. It is spam, especially since it is the same things minus a change in the name.

Ducky 03-25-2012 03:55 PM

The only people I have on facebook who would be interested in joining Tris are all ready here, so I can't help in that respect. (I got ridiculed in school for my interest in sites like Tris) I literally don't know a single person in 'real life' that would use a site like this.
As for advertising on other sites I use.. I only use one other, and Tris was a way to escape certain people there. I'm not sure I want to take steps that could bring them over here..

Personally I don't think this is the way to go about things.

Espy 03-25-2012 03:55 PM

Ok, I think getting to that goal is feasible, but not in to ask-everyone-regardless-of-their-preferences sort of way.

CupcakeDolly 03-25-2012 03:58 PM

Maybe I'm picky (I am with everything, after all), but it takes a certain kind of person to be interested in/active on an avatar site like this. I, personally, would want to be careful about the crowd Tris advertises to. Though the inactivity is annoying at times, I like how close-knit of a community it is, and would hate to have it go the way of Gaia.

Ducky 03-25-2012 04:06 PM

On another note, how good is the Tris server? how much extra traffic is it set to handle?

Obbiesan 03-25-2012 04:08 PM

i do have to agree with espy we can reach that goal with out spamming people an do know that all the people i invited to tris are the only ones who would join as well

See that's the whole joy of forums and profiles. Everything is public and it can be reported by anyone. It's one thing to do it in Private messages but it's a different story when you do it in a public place where everyone can see it.

And I'm sorry but making friends to just bother them in a private message to join another site is also on off way to me. It's one thing for it to come up in normal conversation or if you are leaving the site for another. But just harassing friends in a private message to join a site is one way to lose those "new friends" because than it just makes it seem like you just wanted to be friends with them to Advertise another website. And to answer your question, some friends might because they want to follow the rules of the site they are on.

Don't get me wrong, I'm good about the "trying to get your friends here". While I don't have many friends I do try to direct the conversation's I have with these friends to some-how get it to the point where the "advertising" part is taken out and it's just a normal none advertising post or comment. But the minute you say "Hey join here" that is advertising.

Also while I see the point of advertising and trying to get more people here. The whole thing is, if there is nothing to keep them here, they wont stay. To be quite truthful, if it wasn't for the item guide showing poses and the fact I can make little animals to help me get those items, I have no clue how interested I would be in trisphee because I'm not a huge poster or a roleplaying person. However since starting a thread for help and moving about the site, I have a new home. But some people may not have the same kind of luck.

One last part. You said something about your referrals and while I do agree with you, 32 referrals is quite a bit of people, but how many have stayed if you know and are active or semi-active posters? I mean it's one thing to get people to join but that's not what you are asking for, you want people to be active or semi-active. So while I do see your referrals it just makes me wonder..

Also Illusion, I am in no way picking on you or anything. I hope it doesn't look that way. I just want to get a better understanding and it also helps with the thread and the site when it comes to this topic.

☪ஐﻬ☽ I'm honestly on both sides of this. On the one hand.. getting new
members is a nice idea. More people to talk to.
But on the other hand, where I mostly am.. I agree
with Cupcake. I really don't want Trisphee to turn
into Gaia. I love how small we are and how close
we all are. We all love each other, which is really
nice to be around.

I feel comfortable being here. Like I am completely
accepted and no one will judge me on my oddness if it
comes out. I fell in love with Tris the first day I
joined and I haven't stopped loving her. The items
are beyond gorgeous, especially considering this is
a small site. Everything is just amazing here and I
really don't want to see anything bad to happen here.

I am on other avi sites and I always talk about Tris
to my friends. One in fact joined but she doesn't really
have stable internet so she doesn't come on her that
often. But I won't ever stop talking about Tris to
anyone. I love her too much. So I am trying to promote
it. Just to people I know who are really nice and would
be a good addition to the site.

I would never, ever be ok with people spamming or asking people on other websites. I never have been ok with it and I don't want us to get that reputation.

Batty 03-25-2012 05:31 PM

Honestly, getting people by word of mouth is probably our best option.

No spamming, advertising, or other such things.
When someone asks what you're up to? "Oh, just hanging out on Trisphee, ya know, its a really great site, maybe you should check it out!"

Best course of action, IMO.

Demonskid 03-25-2012 05:38 PM

I'll stick with my fanfic ouo it's been.. productive ^_^
