Pond-Side Animations - A .Gif Shop :3

. Welcome to Pondside Animations! This is a place where I would like to offer small animations of avatars, and possibly other things. things like banners, buttons, etc. I'm new to making animated .gifs, so this is as much a way for me to learn as it is to make a little extra Aurum o-o; ~~~ As I'm new to it all, I am not confident doing 'big' animations yet. So things like super confusing layered avatars, then wanting me to make a certain item move.. probably not possible XD also, since I will only have access to a solid saved image of your avatar (unless you feel like giving me all the items on the avatar), I wont be able to do much more than make making them blink, adding text, filters etc. The 2 avatar examples below were only possible because I had the items to save images of individual poses without any white space. (so yeah, i can do next to nothing without access to your items. realising that now DX) ~~~ right now I wont be making any sort of order form or anything.. in fact the first 3 I do will be FREE 8D I need a few more examples to offer before I fully open >_< Examples: Snails Angel/demon wings Saith Asami #2 bat |

What sort of program do you use for your animations? I use to a few on Gimp, mainly animating a few snowglobes I had made. |

I <3 Gimp. I use to have photoshop.. but not the updated software.
I have a piece of art right now on there I am working on. I might attempt to do animation with it when's it finished. -glances at Miz's art too- Actually, that wouldn't be all that hard to do. Just make another two layers of the art and edit each one to make it look like the eye is closing. :3 Than animate. |

Yeah, I know it would b fairly simple. The thing that I'm not sure about is making it so it looks like it's meant to be part of the art. As the art is quite stylized >_<

and with winking.. i'd have to make both eyelids move and meet in the middle. this could be interesting XD I'm also not entirely sure if it will look good, as winking tends to look a bit weird unless the eyes are looking directly at you.

i could give you one of my winkies so you can see how it looks XD though it'd be neat if you could make it look seamless though you need four frames not two, the eye closing needs three to be smooth and then there is the close so the up can have three as well and not be choppy which a lot of artists have an issue with. the frames go faster that is the trick

That is true.. -studies the image a bit more-
The style looks easy to mimic.. the more realistic pieces are the ones I find the hardest to edit.. And gaining permission from the artist beforehand is a good idea.. I know I had to ask permission from Kpop to take one of her pieces to color in without editing. |

dude for future ref /all/ art i make is free to use as long as i get credit for the original and the buyer is ok with it's usage i give up all rights to modification usage when i sell(this means others can mod with the buyer's permission)

Well, I guess that's a good thing to know in the future incase I see a piece of yours I really have an itch to edit, Choco. I just know a few artists can get very fussy when it comes to their art and someone else editing it without gaining their consent before hand.

Hmn. Maybe something where my wing flaps or does the whole mist appear/disappear thing. I'm not feeling too terribly creative (just woke up, haha), so if you have any neat Ideas, I'd love to hear some? I just know I want one. Haha |
i could probably make the wing move up and down, but I'll need a picture of the avatar without the wing as well o-o

So, not having the lower lid move at all? I tried that first but thought it didn't seem natural Dx way to open a shop and get stuck on the first request xD

I all ready have the frames up in GIMP, but thanks for the offer :3 so acutally only two different frames involved in the movement? one midway, closed then midway repeated again?

So... i can make it smooth an' all that now, but I just can' seem to get the shape correct >_< and Saith.. I made a random thing? http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s..._333/3883R.gif I have a question regarding Animations, in GIMP particularly. does it simply add the layers on top of each other to create the animated effect, or does it cycle through them? I'm having issues trying to make a wing flap on an avatar, as the image has Alpha channel (or what ever that's called) so there's technically no background. each stage of the animation just piles up like that. |

I'd personally prefer if people had ideas on what they wanted o-o; I'm really not creative or good at thinking up stuff.

Any movement of limbs, or items that are in front of other items is pretty hard.. so yeah those ideas are a little complex for an animation noob like me x3

About to say, never seen a wink like that before, Ducky.. that scares me.. :o I honestly would not know what kind of animation I would want besides the gates behind my avatar opening and closing or the moon coming up and setting.. o..0; I believe it's just like a film, Ducky. It simply goes from one slide to the next depending on how fast you set the animation speed, etc. Through I think you have the option of merging and not merging the layers if you want.. I know saving in png merges the layers automatically. |
