Hair: Mostly straight, but will turn wavy when wet or not brushed for a few days. Parted from the left, with bangs sweeping towards the right. The front of his hair is red, including all of his bangs and extending about two inches back from the front of his hairline. The rest of his hair is white-blonde, including the lower portion of the sideburn on his right side. Falls down to his shoulderblades normally, but can be done shorter.
Eyes: Left is blue-green in color, the right is a grayish pink. Often when in the light, the right will have more pupil constriction than the left.
Glasses/Contacts: Does not have prescription glasses. Will often use sunglasses when going outside for extended periods. May get opaque colored contacts for occasional use because of his right eye, with the color matching his left eye.
Distinguishing Features: Several places are marked with albino skin. All marks fade slightly at the edges instead of being crisp lines.
- The right side of his face, surrounding the eye socket. Does not go high enough to touch his eyebrow. Does not go in enough to reach his nose. Follows along the cheekbone and to the jaw line about halfway to his chin. Does not reach his ear but does include the sideburn of that side.
- On the back of his left hand, vaguely resembling a diamond in shape. Does not go down enough to reach the wrist. Does go high enough to surround and include the knuckle at the base of his middle finger.
- Most of his skull, everywhere where his hair is blonde, going all the way down his spine. Ends at the end of the tailbone. Flares out to a degree at his lower back and just below his shoulderblades.
- Following roughly along his ribs on the right side, without marking them crisply or exactly. No further up than the pectorals. Includes part of the cartilage, but does not reach the sternum. Does not reach the back, and is not readily seen from behind. A very organic, blob-like shape.
- Covering the heel of his left foot and following the Achilles tendon until around mid-calf.
Left/Right Handed: Right.
Clothing Style: Usually fits the situation, though he likes to keep things simple. He's fond of bright colors, but only when balanced well to not draw too much attention. Quite comfortable in most anything that covers and fits him well, he has a fondness for slacks and button-up shirts. He enjoys wearing a nice vest now and then, for formal or casual outfits. Tends to follow closer to timeless looks than just sticking to the current trends.
Accessories: Wears gloves more often than not when going out, even for short periods. Usually brings a simple, shoulder strap bag with him.
Mannerisms: Has a habit of biting his lip for a variety of reasons. If sitting or resting, he may rub his hands against his thighs when anxious. Prefers to walk with either a wall or someone he trusts at his right side. He turns his whole head or body to face someone often when they speak to him, and when looking at someone, turns his head slightly to see them better, though it tends to make him seem like he's avoiding the direct eye contact instead. Sometimes will give looks that are for show rather than function when someone is on his right side.
Strengths: Remains hopeful in most situations, and both sees and keeps faith in the good people have inside. Usually forgives easily, and is relatively easy to please or cheer up. He can understand different points of view, even if he doesn't agree with them. While sensitive, he maintains a scientific sort of mind, and is able to weigh his emotions against his logic and reasoning when needed.
Flaws: Can be uncertain and indecisive at times, to the point of freezing up entirely. He's developed a compulsion to keep his own belongings organized and out of the way, despite having no issues whatsoever with messes. When under great deals of stress or depressed, he has a tendency to harm himself; this is usually only insignificant things he doesn't even notice for himself, but without relief from the situation, will get worse. Can be too willing to accept abuse in exchange for acceptance.
Goals/Desires: To be happy while making those around him happy, and to find acceptance from others as well as from himself.
Most at ease when: Near the ocean, especially while with someone he trusts.
Greatest Fear: Causing someone he cares about to feel used or pushed away and making them leave him.
Phobias/Insecurities: He is uncomfortable with how he looks, and how others see him, despite the fact that if he were asked, he has nothing he dislikes about his body other than the fact that it is so mixed; his different colors, in and of themselves, he has no issues with. Hates feeling as if he is in the way, and accordingly, he tries to make as little fuss as possible, even keeping his belongings perfectly in place and, for the most part, out of sight for the sake of not bothering whomever he shares his living space with. Extremely uncomfortable with emptiness and silence, and may break his usual neatness and put something out of place or make some sort of noise for the sake of filling it. He can't stand being talked or whispered about, or otherwise getting too much unwanted attention, and tends to imagine the situation is much worse than it actually is.
Build: Athletic, slim with slight muscle definition, little fat to speak of just a small bit right around his hips. Slightly more narrow shoulders than a boy of his height and weight. Slender, almost boney hands.
Skin: Fair but tans easily without burning, often ends up an even light tan year round.
Facial Structure

Distinguishing Features: Thin white scar travling across the palm of his right hand from between the web of his fore finger to his thumb horozontally across the palm. One scar left over from a bite he recieved, the only visable part of it is on the backside of his right shoulder, closer to the end of his shoulder then his neck, only 4 small marks, no rasing or indentation, just slightly darker than his skin. He often forgets it's there.
Left/Right Handed: Right
Clothing Style: Uncomfortable in anything too casual when he's in public, he often wears slacks and button up shirts, often paired with blazers. Ties or bow ties are also a crutrial part of his outfit. When he's feeling more confidant about himself, and not too worried about his apperance he is alright wearing dark jeans, and polo shirts. Once in a while he'll break out suspenders, but he has to feel very good about himself to do so.
Accessories: The cig holder given to him by his grandfather, not constant, only used when smoking. Ties and bow ties, with every outfit. Also, largely unseen, but he wears printed, almost childlike boxers.
Mannerisms: Scrunches nose when he finds something mildly distasteful. Clicks tongue when being dramatic or chastising someone gently. Rambles when nervous or flustered, often unable to understand half of what he says. Constantly smoothing out his clothes, moreso when discussing a topic he's unfamiliar with or nervous about, more to keep his appearance as perfect as it can possibly be. In association with the smoothing of his clothing he more often tugs on his sleeves specifically when talking to his father, though he's been chastised for fidgeting. Rubs the side of his neck when apologizing for something that he doesn't really need to apologize for.
Strengths: Has a good memory for literature and poems. When there's someone he is particularly fond of, he has no problems being totally loyal to them and only them. Is very good at controling his more aggressive emotions. Never backs out on a promise, no matter what it is.
Flaws: Will often choose the wrong crowd to hang around with in hopes of garnering his mother's love once more. Sometimes has a hard time letting things go. Will seek out physical violence towards himself as a sort of redemption for the things he knows he has done wrong. Falls into heavy drinking and smoking when depressed.
Goals/Desires: To be accepted by the people he cares about.
Most at ease when: Being in the company of someone who truly cares about him.
Greatest Fear: Dying alone.
Phobias/Insecurities: Insecure about relationships, if the person he's with actually cares for him or is only with him for purely physical reasions. Unreasonably frightened of heights, yet has no problem hanging his legs out the window when he's smoking, may be that he's more frightened for the people he's with when in high places.
Though they come from drastically different worlds, they have several similarities in their backgrounds. While certainly for different reasons, both of the boys have been picked out in their lives to be tormented and bullied.
They're content just hanging out, with or without conversation. Preston is often the one that will suggest that they go on trips, many of which take them out of the country. However, Kier is the impulsive one between them, bringing up ideas for them to do at a moment's notice, most of which Preston agrees with easily. Both enjoy teasing the other, and both will turn into a blushing, stammering mess when it's turned back on them.
When the two do fight, it tends to go one of two ways. One, yelling and insults will be thrown, and (rarely) a good hit (though never more than the one). The other, one will just storm off (usually Preston, as half the time when Kier tries, he's stopped and things change to the first type). It's usually Preston that gives in and seeks forgiveness, which is always granted promptly.
Kier seems not to even see most of Preston's faults, though he still far from idolizes him. This seems to be part of what Preston likes most about him, as it's a perfect example of how Kier keeps his optimism and realism in balance.
Appearance: Standing right around 6'0", Gabe is relatively unremarkable. Though he does his share of work, he's not particularly muscled. His frame is thin from a few too many times of forgetting to take care of himself, though it doesn't show too badly through his clothes. He's pale from too much time spent indoors, made all the more obvious against his black hair (typically allowed to get long from his own preference) and rich, green eyes. He has a softer jawline and a Roman nose. Depending on the setting, he'll wear a simple robe (fantasy/medieval), Hufflepuff colors (Harry Potter), or whatever is deemed fitting and comfortable for the period, usually accented with teals.
Mannerisms: You can almost always find a smile on this boy's face. Many of his actions and movements carry a certain, and even feminine, flair to them. In nearly all situations, he exudes an air of confidence, even when he feels anything but. He will often sing when cleaning or cooking. He also enjoys doing regular tricks when teasing people.
Strengths: His biggest strength is his love and care for others, whether he knows them or not. This is reflected in his passion for healing, keeping a balance between traditional medicine, his own magic, and more natural brews and potions. He's extremely open minded towards all types, to the point that he could potentially fall for any creature with the proper level of sentience, regardless of gender.
Flaws: With his nearly constant confidence, smiles, and damn well near flirting with most everyone, his sincere sentiments can be taken as jokes or teasing. As much as he loves what he does, the pain that others go through and the things he sees helping them wears on him, leaving him prone to nightmares, troubles sleeping, and a higher likelihood towards alcoholism. He has a habit of injuring himself for the sake of getting more practice for his healing.
Relationships:
- Elizabeth: adopted sister (4 year difference), closer with her than the rest of his family, both teasing and supporting her the most; would easily fall in love with her, if she weren't family
- Flavia: sister (7 year difference), helps her with her magic often, but can find her indifference towards certain things irritating
- Claude: brother (13 year difference), often plays with him and helps him cause a bit of trouble to spice things up
- Roland: father, looks up to him and admires his abilities, but likes to act like they're equals; bends to his will without hesitation when trouble arises, completely trusting his judgement
- Agatha: mother, often embarrassed by things she says and would rather not test her endless patience
- Jonah: friend, blatantly attracted to him, often making sexual suggestions and jokes around him, but respects his relationship with Elizabeth and would never actually push for anything; respects him and feels comfortable enough around him to let his own insecurities show
Appearance: At 5'10", Elizabeth easily rivals the heights of most men she's met. As if that wasn't enough, she has a strict routine of working out and training every single day of the week, ensuring that she's also stronger than most, even if it's difficult to tell when she wears more comfortable clothes. She's tanned from being almost constantly outside, her already light brown hair bleached by the sun to a soft fawn color. When she's young, her hair is extremely long, but she cuts it shorter not too long after she begins her training for knighthood. Her body is a strikingly bold pear shape, to the point that certain clothes make her look flat chested. Her eyes are bright blue. She usually wears simple robes when she's young, then more practical clothes from her training onward, all of which are usually dirtied and stained from use. She has a custom crafted armor set with hidden protective enchantments sewn into the material itself.
Mannerisms: She can turn argumentative when things aren't the way she thinks they should be, often showing this with pouting and rebellion. She tries (sometimes too hard) to seem mature, but always follows through with her word. Easy to please, she can often be found with a smile... when she's not concentrating or making a fuss over something, at least. She'll sing when doing chores.
Strengths: Bold and just, she lets nothing stand in her way of becoming a good knight and helping her people. She has no troubles standing up against those that think themselves better, including more experienced warriors, always giving her all with things she cares about.
Flaws: Her sudden mood swings can't always be eased away with simple reasoning because of her stubbornness. Her courage and lack of understanding for many of the darker sides of mankind has gotten her into her share of trouble, not all of which had a happy ending for those involved.
Relationships:
- Gabriel: adopted older brother (4 year difference), admires the passion he has for his work, even if he's a teasing jerk; doesn't understand why he spends alone time with so many different young men and women
- Flavia: adopted sister (3 year difference), they do nothing but fight; often do favors for each other
- Claude: adopted brother (9 year difference), likes looking after him and playing games
- Roland: adopted father, most of her (very limited) magic and schooling was taught by him; is often reminded that he's not as strong as she is and worries
- Agatha: adopted mother, learned most of her life skills from her
- Jonah: mentor, friend, lover, eventual husband; in her eyes he's the type of knight most should aim to be like, despite his flaws; constantly pushes him to be the best that he can be, trusting his guidance completely no matter how much she might fuss
Appearance: Taller than average, 6'6". Well built though he doesn't invest all of his time making sure everything is defined. Dirty blond curly hair, usually worn just below the ears. Green eyes that are closer to lime than to forest. A large scar runs from the front, top of his right hip, spiraling back around his leg to the back of his knee. Another small scar, just under an inch in length, going through his left eyebrow. A long, once straight nose, that has a bump in the center from being broken more than once. He was at one point fair skinned, but due to a long time in the sun he seems to have a constant tan.
Mannerisms: When drunk, he becomes much more likely to make bad puns, jokes, and spend money on things he, and the people close to him, don't need.
Strengths: Loyal to those who would put trust in him. Quick to stand up for almost anyone, no questions asked.
Flaws: Stubborn. Can be short tempered. Drinks. A lot. Often. He really likes drinking. This is probably why he has a hard time holding a steady romantic relationship.
Relationships:
- Bethy: close, torn between a proper mentoring relationship and something much closer. Admires her resilience and her fascination in learning everything she can.
- Gabe: not particularly close, though he enjoys his company and would not mind getting to know him better. Not, however, in the sense that Gabe likes to get to know people. Jo holds no attraction for the boy, but finds him utterly fascinating and doesn't hesitate to flirt...Having been drinking or not.
