where did everyone go?

it seems that not long after the last monthlies came out everyone has gotten very quiet, i still see a dozen users in the box under forums but hardly any posting, where what happened guys?

Meizicht 07-28-2012 04:22 PM

I'm a lurker because I normally don't know if I should drop into a conversation, or I don't have much to talk about. xD;
I try not to butt into things, so usually I don't interrupt threads that already have conversations going. +doesn't want to be the third or fourth or fifth wheel+

Demonskid 07-28-2012 04:39 PM

It has been quiet. even in the most popular threads =(

School is starting up soon maybe their preparing for that? oxo

Horror Babe 07-28-2012 04:47 PM

Ive been coming on a little more lately.
[im rarely active here]
But the truth is, i dont feel welcomed here.

Poggio 07-28-2012 04:49 PM

@Titanic: How is it that you don't feel welcomed here?

I am not sure, I think its school or people trying to get last minute vacations in. A lot of trisphee people are older or college students so it could be going back to work as well.

Tiva 07-28-2012 04:49 PM

Been busy, Scuba certification and packing for my move.

Horror Babe 07-28-2012 04:51 PM

Ive posted in the hangouts, always got ignored.
So i made my own hangouts a few times.
They either didnt get any posts, or just plain died.

So i post from time to time in the games forum.

Or i only post during a event.

Pinkie 07-28-2012 04:55 PM

I think alot of people became lurkers. Something needs to happen to bring us together again...I think its the fact that they feel no reason to post...=shrugs= I dont know I find it I only post when certain people are on but half the time they dont post...

Poggio 07-28-2012 04:59 PM

@Titanic: XD I found your hang out, though I thought you had a different one that was named the Titanic or something. I would not mind, and I am sure that the people in the hang outs would not mind if you just jumped in with a comment. That is what I do at least. Though I have to say usually unless you can get on at a time with another poster the conversations don't last since you can't break the double posting rule.

Demonskid 07-28-2012 05:22 PM

i find it easiest to hang around the jibber jabber during these slow times =(

Daigotsu 07-28-2012 05:57 PM

I lurk most of the time. Nothing has really peaked my interest to bring me to post a whole lot. >>; Hopefully a new event will come along and bring all the members together again. Actively.

Demonskid 07-28-2012 05:59 PM

It's kind of sad that only events seem to make the place active. =/

Daigotsu 07-28-2012 06:04 PM

True. It is unfortunate, but if it is the only thing so far, we just gotta bank on it. We are still a smaller site (and newer still). It'll take time before a regiment really settles in.

And time for things to get implemented, like games... or different activities that don't rely on attendance of others.

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 06:18 PM

meiz and titanic; post in the chocobo corral? if i am online i /will/ talk to you there, no need to feel like you are intruding or unwelcome

pink; what would you suggest, if anything, to give us a reason to post?

dk; doesn't that only exacerbate the problem though? there are many users who post only in certain places, posting almost exclusively in one place seems like a not-helpful thing to do

saith; what bout a mini event? something like a user-run posting event with prizes?

Daigotsu 07-28-2012 06:24 PM

I really depends on who you want to tailor the event to. I mean, some people like to be active just to talk about site plot developing, others like the event games, others like posting to get the exclusive event items/currency...others like to sell/make/get event art. Who knows.

If I recall, people have tried to run user-based events, and it flops. If I am wrong, then I want to be corrected. When those things do happen, they aren't advertised well and no one knows about it until it's already under-way.

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 06:34 PM

i've run a user event and tried to rais another neither did well, what would you say we do to advertise a user-run event? and what sort of event would get the widest range of users?

Crystallyn Whisper 07-28-2012 06:40 PM

I'm mostly lurking too. Most of the time it's because I can't think of anything to say or don't want to interrupt a conversation with a half thought out sentence. I was also on vacation for a week and didn't go near the internet except to lurk in /co/ during Toonami. This last week I was doing Gaia's summer event. Finished the last thing I wanted to do, so I'll just be waiting for Durem's loser trophy (we lost so bad this year).

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 06:42 PM

well why not post that half-thought-out line anyway? it could open the conversation up in all sorts of new ways

Crystallyn Whisper 07-28-2012 06:51 PM

Because my half thoughts get weird when I'm half asleep. o 3o; When I do try to, I just get ignored or drowned out by the other bajillion conversations going on. Usually much more serious than what I'm talking about.

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 06:53 PM

how about this, if you post anywhere i am actively posting i /will/ reply to you, would that help?

Daigotsu 07-28-2012 07:00 PM

It's hard to say. Having it just user run you forfeit nearly half of the things that a lot of people participate for (like items for avatars, actual cannon plot, contest for site currency/tokens). You'd almost have to have site backing to get the most bang for buck. Then again, this is only my opinion.

To advertise, I'd say you ring up some of the more active, popular users/artists to sponsor said user event. Have them put it in their signatures, or to talk about it. Kind of like Celebrities supporting things. Not that we specifically have "Trisphee Celebs" here, but you know. More widely known users would have more substantial pull with that kind of thing.

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 07:07 PM

and your opinion is important, everyone who post has the same rank, i need to know why it is we are lacking and hopefully find a way to fix it

we have five that i know of actually XD posters everyone knows or knows of, but traditional means are kind of out of the question, it is spam to pm and a public post might give it away, or would it be better to have it so /everyone/ can see? would /you/ participate if we did?

Daigotsu 07-28-2012 07:11 PM

I'd help spread the word and help in event planning and stuff, sure. I'm always willing to help this site thrive and give back to it's users. C:

And I'd say make a thread somewhere about it, perhaps in the central square, initiating the idea. Make a poll, perhaps, and ask what people would want to see in a user based event. Have it welcoming everyone to post ideas and stuff via thread.

IMO, it would take a while to plan out a successful event, but it would give some people something to do other than lurk, ya know? For now, I'd aim at asking people you feel would be a help to the cause and start gathering ideas. Then make the thread. Then actually start building.

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 07:20 PM

i could do that, i am going to be AWOL for a while after the 10th but i have oodles of items to contribute a thread with free title advertising and a sig that can fit a line in

let me go make one sweetie

You know, I think I did post in your Club House thread once a long time ago. o wo Been meaning to post more in there for a while. Just my brain... it's really dumb at thinking of things to say. XD;

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 07:32 PM

well, know any fun facts or neat retro games? there is always the default option XD you can talk about an ff game

thread has been made, everyone please vote and comment

Crystallyn Whisper 07-28-2012 07:44 PM

The only FF game I've played all the way through was Chocobo Tales. o wo; I don't count 4 since I watched an LP of it.

Going to vote now. *flys away*

It depends on the people too. Some people post in one place over another due to what they feel comfortable with, others its because they don't get along with another user and wish to avoid them.

I post in the Jibber Jabber because all of the other places I post in are dead and the Jibber Jabber is the only real thread that seems active during these times. It's better to post in an active thread that you feel comfortable with then spamming the ones that have died for the time.

OH! I just remembered another reason why people aren't on this week. A lot of them are going to that one convention. :3

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 08:38 PM

glitch con?

i keep hearing about chocobo tales but have never actually played XD i know what i know secondhand, though i think any ff you know anything about 'counts' XD

like i said though that just means only one or two threads are live and anyone who is not part of the one or two is alienated

Demonskid 07-28-2012 08:46 PM

well the jibber jabber is for everyone not a select group which is why i go there xp

and it wasn't glitch con it was something else.. nikko-ni went to it. otacon or something like that

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 08:47 PM

a lot of people don't post there though

Demonskid 07-28-2012 08:49 PM

xD A lot of the newer users don't even know what it is, where it is, or what its for which is why hardly anyone posts there anymore.

with the lack of people online during these times its best to bunch together in threads meant for chatter then just 1 topic :3

Serra Britt 07-28-2012 08:52 PM

I've been really busy and haven't posted here as much as I could. Unless there's a certain person around sometimes I just tell myself there's other things I need to do :/

Crystallyn Whisper 07-28-2012 08:57 PM

Chocobo Tales was pretty cute. Nothing I'd play again. I 100% it and sold it. :/ I got myself all excited when the characters were talking about Cid only to realize it wasn't the one from 7. ; n; I wish I knew about the Cid in every FF game thing back then. Such a huge let down.

Demonskid 07-28-2012 08:59 PM

xD I have Chocobo's Dungeon from the FF games when i saw Chocobo's friend was named Cid i was like "WHAT another Cid? D: how many do they need?!" xD

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 09:04 PM

v.v cid in ff8 was how i found out, i thought it was a neat little thing for the 7 fans but no, he was in 5 too and i would put money on him being in 1 though i have another orb to find in that one

X'D they need ALL THE CID

is there anything we can do to take a little more of your free time and make you think instead 'weeeeeell just another minute here cant hurt'?

actually i think it is a lack of topic that makes that thread hard to get into

Demonskid 07-28-2012 09:09 PM

xD I liked FF7's cid best but then i found one in FF9 and then 8 and then Chocobos dungeon xD they just like the name Cid

That thread is for people who feel like talking about everything and anything where if you want a certain topic to be talked about it needs to be made :3

It helps keep spam threads at a minimum ^_^

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 09:13 PM

same 7's sid was the best though 5 was ok, didn't like the 8 bit though >>;

i guess but clubs have the same option only with the added benefit of a default topic for people who can't think of one and don't like the current

Demonskid 07-28-2012 09:20 PM

The only hangout that is really like the jibber jabber is the brothel.

Its the Jibber Jabber with the allowance of mature themes xD

littl3chocobo 07-28-2012 09:22 PM

another place that doesn't get much anymore
