DUDE...The art on the home page...

Soo. Normally I don't ever see the home page cause I'm always logged in. Well the other day my firefox decided that it didn't wanna work so I had to close my browser and start up a new one, so I got to see the home page again.

I just saw the new art that was put up in the little slide thinggy.

It's BRILLIANT! I love it!!! I kinda wanna be able to save it as a background for my computer!

I just thought I'd let whomever did it know that their work is stunning!!!

Espy 07-30-2012 12:41 AM

-completely agrees with Kali-

Kali_Namir 07-30-2012 12:44 AM

Lols. I saw it and was like "WOAH! HOLY CRAP THAT'S AWESOME!"...

Fenris 07-30-2012 07:27 PM

Meizicht did it, and I suppose I can look into making a bg for desktops with it, I did an Asche one I should release as well. (Mei also has art done for Asche).

Espy 07-30-2012 07:34 PM

Mei's Asche and other...art...are all awesome. -grabby hands at Fen's Asche bg-

Kali_Namir 07-31-2012 12:42 AM

Having staff made backgrounds would be awesome!!! I know I'd get one!!!

Ekilachan 07-31-2012 06:35 AM

Yes, I agree, the artwork on the home page is amazing! ^^

Illusion 07-31-2012 09:22 AM

I did not realize this artwork...
It's very nice!
Is this supposed to tie in with the upcoming event...?

Demonskid 07-31-2012 09:34 AM

you guys actually saw a preview of that art once before when we had the sites birthday :3

Kali_Namir 07-31-2012 01:32 PM

Fenris 07-31-2012 05:56 PM

Tiva 07-31-2012 10:19 PM

Ijustwantedtosaythankyou. xD;

+edits again+
If you guys wanted the whole fullsize thing, it's here, though honestly, I've improved quite a bit since then. @__@;
Though I can't take off the watermark thing.

Lucid: 08-11-2012 09:06 PM

Cagey arts are sooooooo pretty! *U*

Meizicht 08-11-2012 09:22 PM

; u ;'' Thank you!
This thread is going to make my ego explode... xD

Kali_Namir 08-11-2012 09:45 PM

Lols. I just thought it needed to be mentioned, but yeah, I ADORE it!

Meizicht 08-11-2012 11:27 PM

Well, I always deeply appreciate all the compliments I get ( though I honestly don't think I deserve them OTL I still have a ton of room to improve )

Kali_Namir 08-11-2012 11:31 PM

I wish I had even .01 of the skills you have. I can't even draw stick figures properly (has a bit of an issue with circles and curves...and straight lines...okay EVERYTHING...Anatomy most of all though)

Meizicht 08-11-2012 11:41 PM

Honestly, I cannot draw a straight line no matter what. Nor a perfect circle ( buildings and objects are hell for me. xDD ). The only thing that's really got me improving is the fact that I can look at something and see what to do differently in order to add whatever I think is better looking, to my own style. I learn really quick with visual aid, instead of being told ( in fact, I kind of learn immediately with visual aid xD ) so that's probably why I can still improve rapidly, without ever having been in a class. +kind of proud of it+ >__>;
Anatomy is pretty hard to get right, though. @__@ I used to draw torsos way too long and too thin, lol. And I just recently fixed the fact that my faces always slant to the right a bit sdfjaslkfj
+rabblewarble+
I'm pretty happy to be able to draw though. I don't take it for granted, since I'd probably explode into a dead pile if I couldn't. @__@;

... Sorry, I talk a lot. >A>

Fenris 08-11-2012 11:52 PM

Mei is an amazing artist, nuff said <3

Kali_Namir 08-11-2012 11:54 PM

It's all good! I'm actually going to try to learn how to draw, with the help of a few books a friend gave me a few years ago. Especially now that I've got my tablet, and I'm getting the cordless accessory soon to help as well. I'm also slowly learning Photoshop...

When I used to draw, years ago, I was able to look at a pose or scene and sketch it the way my brain saw it, but I've gotten so out of practice, that it's sad.

YUPPERS!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

Meizicht 08-12-2012 12:00 AM

Gehh, I hate photoshop. Dx
+clings to paint tool sai+
Only thing I like about Photoshop ( lol I keep automatically typing "photoshit" OTL ) is that I can make straight lines on it. e n e
But anyway, I do that as well; looking at a pose and being able to draw it. I've been doing that with perspective and shading lately, and learned a new angle to draw faces. @ u @

; n ; Youguysneedtostoppumpingupmyego dfaksjfh

Kali_Namir 08-12-2012 12:12 AM

Lols, I've got photoshop mostly because it came free with my tablet, and the layering is really useful (other wise I'd be using paint)

Meizicht 08-12-2012 12:17 AM

Sai is the best for drawing freehand, I think. Lines are effortlessly smooth and easy, coloring is better, blending is better. The only problem I have with it is that there's no type option so when I'm doing my webtoon, I have to draw it on Sai and then type the words on gimp. xD
I hated using photoshop while I was in school ( took two years of digital media instead of regular highschool ) and I've also got a vendetta against macs ( they all hate my tablet Dx ) so I'm really biased. xDDD

Kali_Namir 08-12-2012 12:24 AM

Like I said, it was free so I use it...

I hate macs to death...literally I could kill my sisters...

PS...totally looking forward to Autonomy!!!

Meizicht 08-12-2012 12:30 AM

Lol, I get you; and if the tablet wasn't like a million dollars, I'd say it was a good deal. xDD

Thanks @ u @
The progress is a little slow because of a really ridiculous hand injury, but that's alright since it's the prologue and those usually just kind of... take their time. xDD
Ahurr.

Coda 08-12-2012 12:44 AM

*holds his MacBook protectively*

*hisses at Windows*

Meizicht 08-12-2012 12:48 AM

D8< For an artist, macs are piles of dung. For coders, it is different D8<<
+hugs giantass desktop+
... +crushed under the weight+ >T I STILL SAY I LOVE WINDOWS!

Butno, the reason I hate macs is because I can't do a damn thing on them. My tablet doesn't work on them at all. OTL I can't really work comfortably on them, so I hate them. e A e

Kali_Namir 08-12-2012 01:22 AM

I just bought the Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet, it was just under $100...

<o.o> coda hissed... that's something I've never seen happen before oxo

Meizicht 08-12-2012 06:28 PM

Kali: That's a pretty good deal then, since it came with photoshop. Since Photoshop is like... a ridiculous amount of money on its own. =A=

Kali_Namir 08-12-2012 06:34 PM

I just hope I can actually learn to use it! Lols!

Meizicht 08-12-2012 06:36 PM

Lol, it takes time and a lot of getting used to, that's for sure. @__@

Kali_Namir 08-12-2012 06:37 PM

Yeah, but I finally understand the awesomness of the burn tool...lols!

Meizicht 08-12-2012 06:40 PM

xD Luminosity is fun too. I use it for lighting a lot ( then again, sai's luminosity and photoshop's might be different. I know they're different in gimp. )

Coda 08-13-2012 01:33 AM

Funny, the /good/ tablets (read: anything made by Wacom since 2002) work BETTER on a Mac. XD My wife is an artist and she's a dedicated Mac user, uses a Cintiq 20WSX. She's USED Photoshop on Windows extensively, but on a Mac it's a lot nicer.

It's actually funny to hear you say PCs are better for art, when art has always been Mac's strong suit compared to PC -- all the way back to the 80s.
