{OOC} When In Rome {PRIVATE}
Just a place for Hon and I to chat and flesh out any details we might need.
|
I cannot think of any details we might need to discuss just yet unless we're curious about the characters, lol.
Is this a thread that can be merely posted in as well? |
Lol. We can just talk nonsense if we want. :p
Doesn't have to be about the roleplay. If someone, for some odd reason, wants to drop in and say hi, I won't stop them. xD;; |
Ah, okay XD Makes sense. I just did not want to post in here if it was for the roleplay only, lest you had any questions this far.
|
Haha, naaaah.
This is for us~ :p So don't be shy! Lol. |
That's a tall order, but I will do my best. :p
So how are you today? |
Lol. I'm good today.
Just a bit sleepy. Had a lazy day...boyfriend is sick, so we didn't do much. Just watched some anime and the Supernatural season premier. How's your day been? |
Really slow, I was sick this morning so I slept through most of the day, honestly.
Then it was a day full of school work to make-up, so until now it has been awfully boring. |
Awww, well hopefully our roleplay will spice up your day a bit. xD
I'm almost done the reply. |
Oh jeez you are posting so fast xD
Sorry if I do not post as quickly as you do, I have not done longer replies like this in a fair while. |
It's alright!
And remember, I'm not expecting long posts. :p I'm fine with shorter replies, once they start talking. It'll make things more quick paced. Posted~ |
I know, but I felt like the first post should at least have a little length to it.
And that will definitely contribute, and even more so if they get around small talk since that slows everything down a bit xD. |
I know. It always feels like a must for first posts. xD
Lol. Small-talk can be shorter posts, I'm fine with that, as long as it's not a few lines. xD |
No, not that short xD
Just that the conversation start and end fast, but we can try to avoid that. Small talk can be boring anyways, lol. |
Lol. I can agree with that. xD
Don't be afraid to give Jay a bit of spunk. :p I know that Stephen might be a bit sarcastic at times. |
Oh do not worry XD my characters start out a bit slow, but they can get snarky and sarcastic in their own way. Guaranteed. :p
|
Alright, good!
Nothing worse than a 2-D character. xDD;; Oh! Meant to link you to this. This is the map I'm using as a reference. I've been to Chinatown and the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) which I do believe they have listed as the Art Gallery of Ontario. :s And the Eaton Centre. <3 Toronto is scary if you're alone and a tourist. Thank god I was with a class every time I've gone to Toronto. |
I think I went by Tortonto one time when I went to Canada XD
We were not there very long though, unfortunately. The closest experience I can compare it to is when I go to Chicago. It is always a more reassuring experience to go with someone who knows the area, let along an entire class. China towns are always fun though~ The one in Chicago is my favorite place to go. |
It stinked like fish when I was at Toronto's Chinatown. Dx
Ironically, Toronto is frequently compared to Chicago. They're both bad for pollution, and stuff like that. Toronto is enormous though. 3 of America's largest states combined? I think that's what I learned. Hmmmmmm. I've been to Toronto maybe 4 times in the last 5 years. |
There are always odors in the city xD Fish is not a pleasant one though.
Is it really? I have not heard that before, but they are generally near each other so I could see why. If Toronto is really that big though, it is huge D: Alaska, Texas, and California all combined. ;-; Damn Toronto is huge. I think I may have been to Chicago less than that, maybe a time or two more. I do not often keep track. :p |
Lol. Yeah...all the fish were out in the open.
Staring at me. With their lifeless eyes. D: Thankfully, we were just passing through since we were allowed to go off on our own. I was with my grade 12 art class when we went, so we were old enough. Still had to stay in small groups. I got to hang with my friend Ang for half the trip. God, I love her. xD She saw this shop that sold Lolita clothes, got extremely excited, then really disappointed because it was closed. D: Hahaha, well, I learned something new. xD America's largest states~ I honestly think it's not true though. Lol. Just something I heard. |
If Toronto was the large XD Well, just damn. I wonder if it is actually true or not. Hmm...
Oh man XD You guys were allowed to go your separate ways in a city when you were twelve? I wish I was in your class, on the last field trip I went on we had to stay together, it was pretty lame. So many things to see in the city, it is hardly fun being stuck with the same annoying kids, lol. |
Yeah. It'd be mind boggling.
GRADE 12. xDDDD Silly~ I was 17 or 18 when we went. |
Oh my XD Apparently I cannot read tonight.
That makes SO much more sense now though. Haha. But yes, I would hope you would be able to go off on your own, though my high school was still bad xD We were stuck as a group. |
We had a cool art teacher. = u =
If only Mr. Lacina didn't retire. It'd give me a reason to visit my old high school... Technically, we were, too, but our groups were just students and we had to meet back at a certain spot at a certain time. So we didn't go very far. We had our badder bus to take us places. And we took the Subway. It was my first and so far only time. > u < It was awesome. |
Oh man xD Subways are awesome.
If you like the suway, and if you ever go to Chicago you should take the L train. It is super fast and so similar to the subway. :P Better even. Now you make me want to go on a super cool field trip like that xD Alas. |
Should have moved to Canada at a young age. >>;;
My grade 8 trip was awesome. We went to Medieval Times and the Playdium. And the Science Center. And Laser Tag at Laser Quest. Good times, good times. |
xD Dude, if I had the opportunity I would have.
My eighth grade field trip was surprisingly similar to that. We went to a place that was a mix between an arcade and a game involving bumper cars and high-a-li. xD Those were the days, lol. |
Mhmmm.
I honestly hated the shit out of grade school. I didn't have friends, I was bullied, all that fun stuff. Didn't make any real friends until grade 9. xD;; So high school was more like the good ol' days for me. :p I have better memories from it. |
I feel like it is that way for a lot of people, me included.
I ended up switching schools many times and so there was no real consistency until high school, where then there were better clubs to join and things that made it better than the grades prior. All the drama and musical stuff, lol. EDIT: I got a bit of my post done, but did not finish today. Later tonight I will try to finish and post. |
Lol. I didn't join any clubs in high school. xD
They were never very promoted. The high school I went to was well known for it's art, music, theatre, and sports. I was an art student. But I don't live in the city that my school was in. So I couldn't have stayed after school even if I wanted to. That's alright! I'm excited, either way. :) |
D: No clubs? Blasphemous!
Unfortunately I did not go to your school, lol. For having all of those wonderful things promoted at your school...well mins just looks shabby in comparison. They actually took away all classic art classes such as sculpting, pottery, painting, and all of that to replace it all with digital design. Which is cool, of course, but the classic styles are so important. > n < Still, that is unfortunate about not being able to attend. Did you at least get classes that were about equally amusing subjects so as not to be left out? |
Lol. I had a lot of options after grade 9 and 10.
I had few mandatory classes and a lot of...ugh, what're they called. Just classes you're allowed to pick on your own. Anyways. Took art every single year. That was a fun class. Took drama one year...passed it by the skin of my knees because I have stage fright. Took communications, failed it in grade 12 thanks to the damn animation course. :/ I do NOT understand Flash at all. And the stop-motion KILLED me. D8 Took World History, which was fun. And Psychology. And Sociology. Failed Sociology. xD OH. And World Religion, since that's an option in grade 11 or 12, I forget what year it was. But yeah...it was a nice break for me to get away from the Bible thumping. I'm Atheist, but not an ignorant one. :p I probably know more about religion than most. xD;; Uhmmm...yeah. Didn't take many super-fun courses. The high school I went to was Catholic...had uniforms, but not the skirt and blazer type. Just shirts and pants. There WERE kilts, and shorts, and khaki's, but they were optional. And more expensive. So a lot of the curriculum was strict sometimes. Failed Sociology, Communications and Entrepreneurship, so I didn't graduate with my class. Ended up switching to the high school in town, which is extremely ghetto. But I ended up meeting my boyfriend there, and actually took classes that WERE AWESOME. NOW I get to tell you about the super-fun ones. I took Native Studies. Got to go to a Pow Wow, go on field trips, etc. There was a much darker half of the course where we toured an old Residential school... And I learned a dying Native language called Lenape. I speak Lenape better than I speak French. And I had to learn French for 10 years. I learned Lenape in one semester... |
Electives? They weren't really available to us until we hit 11th or 12th grade either, it was such a bother.
They tended to favor more academically sound students so they got first pick at the electives and filled the fun classes before anyone else really got much of a chance. Which it makes sense, but it was still aggravating. :p I have been encouraged by many people to try flash, but just looking at any of the coding seems so impossible I do not even want to bother. Some of the other online coding seems useful, however. My school now actually offers classes to teach you how to create websites and construct it by means of coding from an entirely blank page, so I am tempted, lol. I know the catholic school scene, actually, lol. Fortunately for me, I was only enrolled for a handful of years in middle school so once I completed my confirmation I was free to do as I wish. Which, I was more than happy to leave. Having to attend church every week was a bit too much for me, and totally not worth it in the opinion of a fourteen year old, lol. Oh..French XD Gosh I hate french. I am taking it this year and it is such a pain, I do not want to take it anymore. DX If I had access to more interesting languages such as that, even if they were dead languages, I feel as though it would be much more interesting. Of course we have German and Chinese and things such as that, but it just is not the same. |
Electives! Lol. That's the word I was looking for. xDD
I feel your pain. Though I've only ever been in Catholic schools... Kindergarten to grade 8, and then grade 9 to grade 12. xD So yeah, I'm pretty sick of it myself. :p Flash was only being used for animation when I had to use it... It was just. So confusing. D: But hey, for the roleplay, do you want to time-skip ahead a few minutes so Stephen sees Jay walking around the corner or something? xD Just to get some dialogue going. :p I won't be able to post until tonight. Boyfriend is on his way. >< |
If I had not had the freedom of private schools before catholic schools I would have probably gone insane XD I could not have dealt with that many years of Jesus and the bible, lol.
Sure, a time-skip sounds perfect for right now, just so it can have a little push. :p And do not worry about posting by tonight xD Take your time to hang with your bf. |
Freedom of private schools? xD
But I thought private schools didn't allow much freedom? Yeah..I don't know how I survived for so long. I actually CHOSE to go to that Catholic high school. Only because of the art program and a few "friends" going to it. Bleh. Lol. Alright, perfect~ Pffft, he's gone already. :p |
Whoops XD Was talking to Cho and got my words a bit mixed up. I meant to say public school.
I was about to say that was a short visit XD when I realized your first post was from four this afternoon. Oops. :p |
Oh, okay, that makes more sense. xDD
Hahaha, it was actually 5:30 here when I posted that. :p But yes. I'm feeling lethargic right now, but I'll get a reply to you tonight. xD;; |
You're an hour ahead of me then. ; 3; Cool beans.
Oh lethargy. /Leans back in chair Good times. XD If only I could be lethargic today, but I have been busy cleaning and baking and things. Plus I still have school work. Fun day, fun day. XD |
