I'm reading Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows for the first time
If anyone's ever heard of Mark Reads Twilight or Mark Reads Harry Potter (if not GO THERE he is awesome) Mark Reads Harry Potter it's about a guy who blogs every chapter of books he reads. He did Twilight, and then Harry Potter, having not read either book before.
(Warning: He does NOT like Twilight so if you do, and don't have a sense of humor about the series quality, then don't read his Twilight reviews cos he's pretty harsh [and hilarious]) But I, like him, never got into Harry Potter when it was EVERYWHERE, but having been shown the last two movies by my bf I really got back into the series again and in impatience for the next movie I decided hell with it!! I'd go ahead and read the last book, and I'm trying to do it with Mark, but alas I fail. xD However since I never really got into the whole fandom when everyone did it'd be cool to talk to people about it now (and yes I managed to keep almost COMPLETELY UNSPOILED how did I do that) Btw I dont know why I thought the series wasn't good (I dropped it in the middle of Goblet of Fire and refused to pick it up again) I LOVE THIS BOOK OMFG. |
That Mark guy reminds of Dan Bergstein and his blogs about Twilight.Here. They are HILARIOUS. And he also his harboring an intense hatred of the series. I'm using his blogs to understand what Twilight is about without having to taint myself, lol. I can see why you stopped in Goblet of Fire. Of all the books, that is my second least favourite, just a step above the lowest position that is Half-Blood Prince. But overall I love the series as well. <3 I highly enjoyed the 7th book as well. |
I have seen all the movies about 100 times each.
And I've been reading the books, but I'm not very far lol. And I have never heard of this Mark guy. I will have to go check it out. c: |
I love reading stuff about people reading stuff, so I'm saving that Mark site for later. xD
And yeah, there was a period between two of the books (I have no idea which two at this point) where I fell out of the fandom a lot. Then I read the books and I was like LOOOOOVE. And ever since I went to Harry Potter World at Universal Theme Park, I've been crazy about the books. |

I was a Harry Potter nerd all the way from when the third book was already out, following the releases until the seventh book. I have to say that I was disappointed with the ending, but nevertheless loved the series to death. It was simply brilliant, and added much-needed color to an otherwise dreary and magic-less world. I wasn't at all happy with the massive following that it gathered (I have sort of an "indie kid" complex), but still managed to stick with it.
