it was no surprise to him when master filtch finally gave in and sold him to the slavers. he had gone out of his way to break as many dishes as he dared and refuse the old man's advances as often as he could tolerate the small crop the old man kept. he did not care, the marks left on his outside were worth keeping his insides mostly unmarked. after three days of the slavers pens a sharp-edged little lady came and looked him over. dragged from his pen he was made to strip and turn for her and with a hum and a clink of coins was bought for a price greater than filtch sold him for and the slaver asked for he figured whatever he was going to be used for was less than pleasant.

tied by his collar by the lady's man he was dragged to his new home which, it seemed, was somewhere quite posh since most of the trip was spent in a fancy carriage and the walk was through towering brownstones. led inside he departed from the lady's company and taken off down a side hall. instead of the scullery or the laundry however he was taken to a posh little bathing room where the man left him with a couple indentures who helped him to scrub down and dress in absurd costuming finished with an oversized bow. dressed thusly he was taken to another room near the front of the house and sat down on his knees amid a child-sized 'fairyring' of stuffed 'shrooms and woodland critters. with all the effort to scrub him, including in places he hardly washed himself, and the sum paid he figured himself to be a pet slave good only for a shag and a beating but the decor of this current gave a mixed message and sitting at attention with the gaudy bow around his neck he spied things that would lend to this being an adult's room not a child's but not the sort of adult that would use him as such. only the books along the desk kept him from wondering if this was the room of a touched one
