Paracord Bracelets?

I'mm just curious to see who else makes these, along with other paracord products.

I make a variety of these for a shop in town that sells tactical gear and stuff, usually takes about an hour to make an 8" bracelet, which is normally around 10 feet of wrapped paracord.

Anyone else do weaving or braiding with rope? Got some tips?

I don't make them, but I think it'd be a nice thing to get, if only because I like to be well-prepared for any sort of emergency. (Also, spiffy bracelets, and at worse, I could just clip it to the carabiner on my belt loop.)

I made a paracord dog collar, and i have made several bracelets. I use paracord for fancy rope work, like rope corsets, and may have a few photos taken in March-April time range for a friends expo on 'exotic kinks'.

Tee hee. Tee hee hee. Exotic kinks. Heee.

BI I can do those knots.

Tiva 01-22-2014 10:56 PM

most people can, just pretty stuff. Rope work is fun.

Nexess 01-22-2014 11:05 PM

My job taught me how to do them cause we show people demo's on how to use paracord, I do seminars on how to do bracelets and whatnot o3o it's really cool, made a dude a gun strap outta paracord once, took like 180 feet of the stuff @____@

I had to google paracord to find out what it was. I've never used the stuff, but I recognize the knots from when I made friendship bracelets and did hemp work. Mostly the one that looks like a row of 'V's. I didn't see any pictures of it done, but if you use the same knot as you would for the 'V' pattern, but don't alternate sides, it makes a spiral.

Nexess 01-23-2014 12:52 AM

I know that knot, it has a specific name that I can't remember right thing second but yea, this sort of process is used in alot of different things and with different material.

*raises hand* I've made bracelets before and need to again. It's rather fun and a good way to pass the time to say the least.

Tiva 01-23-2014 01:02 AM

Half hitch knot, called a half hitch spiral if you don't alternate.

Nexess 01-23-2014 01:46 AM

Alpha - This does seem like something you'd do XD

What Tiva said!

It's pretty simple. Hardest part is what kind of catch or keep you use...knot and loop, button and loop, buckle, or even a fancy metal release. I've only done the knot and button options....haven't had any buckles on hand when I was making.

Yep. Plenty of paracord to do so....then again you can never have enough paracord!

So they sell a lot of the supplies to make these bracelets where I work and I see kids going crazy. I think its a nice idea that a fashion item also doubles as a survival too and it is a hell of a lot more useful then a rubber band bracelet.

Quiet Man Cometh 01-23-2014 08:42 PM

So how would you finish one of these bracelets? I've always just knotted the strings through a bead or used them as ties to attach to the beginning loop. I'm not sure how one would add a buckle.

Lawtan 01-24-2014 12:45 AM

I used to do the paracord stuff...I think I gave away all my cord @_@
