Favorite Holiday Cookies

I want to bake a bunch of cookies this month. Does anyone have any ideas for good cookie recipes? I want to be more interesting than sugar cookies and chocolate chip xD

I've been meaning to try this white chocolate cranberry cookie recipe out (I haven't picked an exact recipe yet), but I haven't gotten around to it yet...

I want to try this recipe out: http://www.landolakes.com/recipe/1054/christmas-smores

I have white chocolate covered pretzels and pumpkin cheesecake on my list of things to do. (Maybe tomorrow).

I also bought 5 holiday cookie containers that I am going to fill with goodies to take home to my family. I am thinking I am going to fill them up with scotcheroos, muddy buddies, cheese crisps, corn flake wreaths, and chocolate chip oatmeal raisin cookies. As well as some frosted sugar cookies.

Chocolate Crinkles are one of my favorites!!

That and my mom's ginger snaps. :)
I'll have to dig out the recipe for you. ^___^

Though - I love cookies in general, especially home made ones. *nod*

Haha a couple years ago I used stumble upon and made 10 different kinds of cookies. Going to the dollar store and buying little containers to give them out in was soooooo fun. But I can't remember what any of those cookies were, I only have photos to remember by xD

Glitch that's a really sweet idea! It's nice to just get enough cookie to make your sweet tooth to go away, but not enough to make you all sad and fat. XD

Oddly, as much as I love to cook, I don't remember the last time I made cookies from scratch.

Glitch 12-06-2015 03:20 PM

But making cookies from scratch is so fun!

Coda 12-06-2015 03:33 PM

I know, which is why I don't know why I haven't! XD

I also haven't made biscuits from scratch in a couple years, but I know why THAT'S the case: I don't have the countertop space to roll them out.

I suddenly feel afraid to see your kitchen.

ALthough, I don't really either --- I just make it happen.

Fulkth 12-06-2015 03:40 PM

Whenever I am in the kitchen. I make a butt load of dishes. And the kitchen will end up looking like a war zone. XD

I don't feel guilty about making a mess at all. That's what happens when you cook/bake! XD

I live in an apartment. My counters are lined with canisters and containers along the back wall, so that leaves me with enough room to work with bowls and cutting boards and pots and stuff, but rolling out dough takes a lot more than that.

My foster mother use to make lots of cookies for xmas, my favorites would be the buckeye cookies or what ever they're called. they are balls of peanut butter surrounded with chocolate ouo

Tas 12-07-2015 03:04 AM

my mom makes all the best holiday cookies. Ricotta cheese cookies with cream cheese icing, oatmeal cookies with cherries and cranberries, chocolate crinkles.

Glitch 12-07-2015 03:44 AM

That is two votes on chocolate crinkles! Hehe

What are ricotta cheese cookies?

Tas 12-07-2015 04:15 AM

they're these extremely rich, almost cake-like cookies that my mom makes. They have ricotta cheese in them, which weirds some people out, until they taste them. Everyone loves them after tasting them.

I'll have to google a recipe!
