I know we're going to be getting more new pets for our avatars soon, but this idea is knocking around in my head and won't leave me alone. I propose...


Format: Make up an avatar that showcases your favourite pet here on Trisphee that you own. Your avatar should be included and not invisible.

Then, write:

What the pet is.

What you call the pet (if you've named it).

When and How you got the pet.

Why you like the pet.

Optional: Write a bit about the pet's life with your avatar.

What the pet is.
A white tiger.

What you call the pet.
WhiteShadow, named after the giant stuffed white tiger I actually own. XD

When and How you got the pet.
I saw him at an auction and just had to have him, it was a Christmas auction to raise money for food banks and soup kitchens.

Why you like the pet.
Because big cats will always be the coolest animal groups, I think the scientific name was Panthera for them?

What the pet is.
Bombay Black Cat

What you call the pet.
Her name is Merlin (Ambrosius). Named after the Arthurian legends.

When and How you got the pet.
I picked Merlin from an animal shelter around Christmas, as Mom's old cat was deaf and partly blind & needed help.

Why you like the pet.
Cats have a habit of either being loners or overly-attached with their owners. I do not see that behavior in Merlin - Merlin is a pragmatic but compassionate cat. After the dog's death, and as the other animals are having problems like thyroid trouble, Merlin is sort of a support for me. Also, for a small animal, Merlin is quite a resilient and clever barn cat, having survived some scary shit.
