May Snow

So, it's snowing in north eastern ohio.. I never seen it snow in May.. The beginning of april yes, but May? Never!

The flakes are too fine to be caught with my camera... which sucks. xD I like taking pics of snow.

Is it snowing where you are?
If it is, is it normal this time of year?
If not, what do you think about May Snow?

SparX 05-15-2016 12:11 PM

It hasn't snowed in my area all winter, except for maybe half a day I think that was gone by 10pm. like all the stuff on the ground too.
It snowed in the mountains but not in the lowlands .-.
I wish I could have snow.
but May snow is really weird I agree .-.

Definitely never seen snow in May here....

But that's because it's Florida. :P

I've met people who believe the Earth slowly rotated and the North is even closer North thus making it colder or some spheel like that.

Tohopekaliga 05-15-2016 12:56 PM

What do you mean by 'slowly rotated'?

Demonskid 05-15-2016 01:46 PM

You know how the world rotates ->>

well some people things it slightly turned upwards a little as well.

I think Illusion's friend is talking about nutation. However, the Earth's axis goes through a complete nutation every ~18.6 years, so it can't really account for extremes in weather patterns because you'd see those extremes every couple decades and not "this has never happened before" kinds of scenarios.

Yeah, I remember a couple years back (in May) we got into a car accident and totalled our car due to snow and ice.

Witchchylde 05-16-2016 12:26 PM

I believe there was a report recently on National Geographic about the finding of super well preserved mammoths that were apparently flash frozen because of what may have been a meteor impact of such high power that the earth's axis did shift several degrees a few thousand years ago.

I made my avatar all snow in may-y

Gaius 05-17-2016 11:21 PM

It snowed here last week. Not terribly unusual for Michigan though!
