Space Quest
So. . . since I love King's Quest I decided to try out Quest for Glory and Space Quest. Quest for Glory is soooo much fun but the game decided it didn't like my computer and continually crashes . . . SO with sadness in my heart I started Space Quest.
AND WAS INSTANTLY FRUSTRATED BEYOND BELIEF OMG. 15 minutes for the first bit?! And now I have an evil space spider chasing me and sand worms popping up like daisies?! The worst part is . . . when he steps on the sand worm. . . Roger veers off from wherever I clicked just so he can be eaten. Like wtf Roger?! I had to turn the game off from furious anger! XD And now my bf is nagging me to play it more so he can see what happens . . . You know what happens? You die. You die a lot. That is what happens. So. How about it? Have you played Space Quest? Did you manage to get through the beginning of this game? Is there some trick to avoid this space spider thing? I fear my soul will be consumed as I attempt to escape it and continually fail. |
i played kings quest i got stuck becuz i was a thief or a stealthy class and in the mission you needed to have a group and i never had anyone to help me. the mission required a group so maybe we could play

hmmm i don't know what kings quest that would be :3
The one I am talking about is an older PC game in which you were on your own trying to solve puzzles! ^_^ But. This is the space quest thread. XD Same idea though, made by the same company and what not. |
Space Quest is one of the exemplars of that era of puzzle games. It's quite literally "save frequently in as many slots as possible" and "try absolutely everything on absolutely everything else." That kind of gameplay is one of the reasons the genre fell out of favor -- yeah, the story is hilarious, but it's effectively impossible to complete without either a walkthrough or OCD levels of patience.

Ah yes much like King's Quest V.
I'm going to have to try to have OCD patience |
