DIY Gifts

Hey everybody <3

So I'm trying to brain storm some cheap DIY gifts I could make for people this year. I have no knitting/crocheting talent to speak of so that is all ruled out. I am making some of those no sew fleece blankets but I want to make my grandma something special.

Aside from just drawing her a picture I'm not sure!

DO you guys have any suggestions?

I wish I could help, I only have the crochet experience. I plan on making a Marceline plush for a friend, and that's pretty much it. I'm also not great in the grandma experience department, either.

I don't know if you have cooking skills either, but there's always a jar of cookie ingredients or something similar. Or decorating a container/bin/tub? Does she like plants? You could also do a decorated pot for a potted plant.

I've seen really cute notebook decorating ideas online as well.

Maybeee a cloth basket? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwRwJbLH4CI
If you have spare cloth lying around.

I think the thing can be simplified to be done without a sewing machine.

have you considered decoupage? it takes no real skill(though it helps a lot if you do) only requires glue, water and pictures and you can do it to most things safely!

she does like photographs. If I had thought ahead I could have pressed some flowers, she used to have a bunch of picture frames with pressed flowers in them. Alas, I did not ._.

buy dried flowers online?

What about nylon sock flowers? Basically you have some wire and you wrap socks around wires to make petals. Then you arrange them together to make a flower. The problem would be getting the materials for it though ^^;;

I've also been considering DIY gifts. I have a woodburner and my boyfriend works for a cabinet shop, so he can get me nice scrap wood that I can make signs with. That's a nice gift idea for anyone who needs some home decor.

A photo collage art piece?

You could decorate some frames, perhaps? Keep some left over and press some flowers for her birthday if it's far enough away?

I do sugar scrub in really nice jars with personalized oils to help with certain things. You can also make some really cool ornaments with the no shatter bulbs that you paint or draw on.

I too need some ideas for gifts. We are doing a gift exchange at work and have a $5 limit for 5 items.

Normally I would make the majority of my presents for others, but this year I've not had the time because of work, so my sisters will be getting home-made cookies and spiced biscuits. I'm going to be making some clasp free anklets for my nan (she commissioned me to make her some in the spring) in colours she hasn't got yet. I'm not sure what I'm going to make for my mum or brother yet though...

I hate this time of year because I always feel like I need to give good presents, but there are always lots of birthdays for me shortly before Christmas and so I never have enough money to get everyone something good... My mum's birthday is on Friday (exactly 1 month before xmas) then my little brothers birthday is on the 19th of December and my partners birthday is 2 days after that... -_-

I have some suggestions for DIY gifts:

- Find out the favorite animal of the people you're making gifts for and make an origami animal for each of them.

- Make bookmarks with inspirational messages and beautiful images on them for the people you're gifting.

- Make cupcakes and/or muffins and give each person a few cupcakes and/or muffins.

-Bake cookies and give each person a tin of cookies.
