Anyone have cable problems?

....It's stressing me out. I am having the aftermath of Friday the 13th curse. I been having a lot of bad luck lately. So, I got my TV set up in mt room, got a cable cord plugged in, and followed the Universities instructions. I am supposed to select CATV on the menu when I switch from AIR to CABLE. It only says air or cable. GAH. I'm so done. I even contacted the services.

Would it be compatibility of my TV?
Maybe I am missing something, do you guys know?

So random question do you have the cable completely seated in both sockets?

WCU had some weirdness for accessing their cable network too.

Im sure. I only recieve 4 channels. I don't know how it would affect the channels though.

I don't know anything about your TV, but I haven't seen that old-school type of cable service in YEARS.

So... a few things.

First off, CATV means "cable television." If you see anything saying "CATV", "cable", or "coax", consider it synonymous.

Second, it's possible your TV might not have an analog cable TV tuner in it. Modern TVs don't connect to cable TV service directly; you get a cable box that connects to the cable and then you connect that to the TV using HDMI. The connection on the back that LOOKS like a cable TV connection is meant for connecting either an air TV antenna or things like old video game consoles.

Unfortunately, I don't even know what to recommend at that point. Maybe you could find some ancient TV lying around somewhere, or maybe you can buy a cable TV box compatible with the service on Amazon or something.

I know I found like analog and digital thing on my tv. Like it has, HRC, STD and I think IRC. It says analog and digital at the top.

It's a brand new TV too. If I got another it would be expensive. I got this around black friday.

Well, I figured it out. I set digital and analog to HRC then back to STD when channel searching. It finally got me the cable.
