Can you lock your phone so that a third party can't get into it? o_O What kind of phone do you have?

Go into google play and let it run a scan on your apps?

Maybe this will help: https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to...virus-3633110/

i think you're alright

Looks like an accidental link? I don't think they meant to send a link and perhaps it automatically linked before they sent it and they didn't realize. :o

Cause the "easier.lol" is linked and they just probably weren't aware cause the way they typed. xD

Calm down. :) Everything is fine.

Your IP address isn't sensitive information at all. Every website you ever visit knows it, and it HAS to know it because otherwise it has no idea where to send the page contents back to.

I mean, I know your IP address right now. There's a little icon on every post that mods can hover over to see the IP address of who posted it. Doesn't mean I'm going to hack you.

Someone knowing your IP address has no better chance of hacking you than someone who doesn't know it, because I can go to ICANN and find out every IP address of every Verizon customer, every T-Mobile customer, every AT&T customer, etc. trivially. (It doesn't mean I know WHICH customer belongs to WHICH IP address.) If I were a hacker, I would just hack ALL of them and see which ones are vulnerable to being attacked, at which point it doesn't matter if they have your specific IP address or not.

Oddly, that particular link doesn't actually work for me. Nobody owns that domain name. So I think there IS some hacking going on SOMEWHERE, but it's not targeted at you, and you're almost 100% sure to be fine. (Cell phones are actually REALLY hard to hack, and a site that tried would be more likely to just crash your browser than to do anything malicious.)

I'm not networking savvy but from the random nature of the hyperlink it appears to be a glitch made by the texting app.
As Coda pointed out, your IP address is not sensitive information. You couldn't use the internet if it were private.

Random links like that happen occasionally to me too. I just chalk it up to smartphones having a dumb moment.
