Item design contest Post in.

Winter Unisex Commons Design Contest

I will repost the rules:
RULES:
-3 Items per member.
-No mules.
-The design has to be done by you and not copied off of someone else. No photography either.

So why is the contest title so long?

-We want winter items to be worn as commons... So nothing crazy like a snowman costume. (ex: think about Christmas party and what you would wear, or what you would wear in front of the fireplace that would be the most comfortable..... Those are only ideas, there are many others)
-You can design accessories too.
-We want you to draw your item unisex; meaning, you draw something very girly then we need you to draw the male version as well. If your item is already unisex (ex: a jacket with fur on it) you do not need to do another version.

Reasons; We need more commons and we want to be fair for both genders.

With this in mind, we are not looking for the best drawn item. If you are unsure about your skills then do a simple sketch with a small description with it. (this is to avoid been confused by long descriptions)

So post your items in this thread!

I don't usually do this but I'm gonna take a stab at this...

First we have...
http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/p...uch/items1.png
Furry Toboggan and Thigh-high Peppermint Stockings.
And lastly...
http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/p...fuzzyscarf.png
Super Fuzzy Scarf
Which I only used blue on because I like blue. I swear I was not thinking about that Kong-whatever scarf from Gaia when I made it.

Poggio 12-02-2010 12:46 AM

... XD I feel kinda lame, actually submitting a drawing but I don't know how to pixel things.

Winter Shaw, it was draw with the idea that you could use it with every color, just that the trim remain white and the stitchings on the side be the main color.

( Reserves this spot for possible second entry for which I have a question?
If I made a gown and the male version was a tux would it count as two separate entries? )

DarkWolfrin 12-02-2010 08:45 AM

Poggio,
It must keep the initial deigns of the first item your drew.
Like if you do a dress with fur all around with stars for example, the guy must have something similar and maybe keep the fur and star.

You can try it out and we will discuss about it with the other. Always depending of the amount of work too. Right now we have nothing to base ourself on (: . Since it is the first common design contest.

1. The leather parka is on the far right, soft, warm fur inside even a front bit to warm your hands up, not the normal shiny leather. no that amazing, tannish leather with the texture to it :D with removable face mask to protect against cold winds and snow. (it gets so cold here, I wish I had one..)

2. The ill fitting sweater. A horror gift, the one that certain relative always seems to knit for you, whether thje arms are just too long, or too short, it never seems to fit quite right, and the designs or colors used can end up being almost outlandish, anything from christmas tree,s to hearts showing that relative's love of you, and every year you KNOW your family'll make you wear the newest horror as they take pictures, whether they coo or snerk as they take them, you never can tell.

3. Snoiwflake earmuffs. For when you want to feel seasonal, but not outlandishly christmasy, with stocking caps or reindeer horns. Small snowflakes on the headband section, with a larker section, either with extended 3d snowflake, or a big puffy earcovering with a snowflake embroidery on it.

Note: Base and tails owned by Trisphee.
Item Links: Where items should lay on the face. Where the hair starts.
Hair Ribbon (PENCIL drawn). Hair in relation to tails; scarf layering.

# The hair tip runs a little low in the picture. It would be lovely if you guys were able to make it run even smoother with the tails. The drawing, for this item, is just the gist of how I would like it to look. I would *like* for it to be messy in relation to the hair I have now, or just with the spiky hair (that I am wearing, not the Sora-look-alike-hair). Just a different look than the Kiyo Extensions we have.

a. This is important to read. The scarf IS NOT meant to cover the bottom of the eyes. It is meant to only cover part of the cheeks and leave the eyes uncluttered, perhaps even revealing the Blush item. Please do not create the facial part of this scarf based off the "blueprints" of the nomad scarf.
b. Scarf may layer behind or in front of background items.

I have a question for a possible idea...

Would there ever be a way to make one of the arms move? Like your holding something in the hands?

Coda 12-12-2010 09:01 PM

It's on the "maybe someday" list but the amount of work necessary to achieve that is prohibitive.
