Energy Drink or Sleepy Drink?

Whenever I drink energy drink, I don't get energy from it and instead I get sleepy. I have no idea why but I always fall asleep after drinking energy drinks. >.> Isn't it suppose to boost your energy?

What about you?

Batty 04-05-2011 03:27 PM

Ahaha, I don't have that problem.

Monster is my best friend. Though, I know people who get sleepy off of energy drinks.

Coffee makes me sleepy... well.. Anything with milk really xDDD and it's warm <3333333333

I'm really pressed for energy, I rarely get it >.<''

Yuki 04-05-2011 05:03 PM

I dunno, I don't drink coffee or anything but I'm always sleepy...hah...

Batty 04-05-2011 06:20 PM

Coffee wakes me right up. xD;

I can't really survive without it. Its horrible.
I need at least a cup in the morning, and a cup at night.

When I used to drink caffeine based drinks I would get super tired. When I gave it up I didn't sleep for nearly four weeks, it was oddddddd.

Energy drinks have me jumping all over the place. I try to stay away from those.

Echo-chan713 04-05-2011 08:23 PM

I can't enery drinks on an empty stomach or else I get food poisoned and it's not pretty

Coda 04-05-2011 08:41 PM

Coffee will help me stay alert if I'm trying to stay alert, but if I'm trying to rest it will put me to sleep. Energy drinks are the same.

Fey 04-05-2011 09:24 PM

There are some energy drink that I avoid, even if I could drink them. Apparently if you want a three day plus energy buzz you should drink a large Nos. But I don't recommend it.

I don't really drink energy drinks, they don't really work imo. D:

Jurinjo 04-06-2011 09:11 AM

Interesting. Are you ADD? I have heard contradicting information that people with it actually get more tired from caffeine.

For me only Red Bull works so far as energy drinks. But the crash is pretty immediate...like one hour after xP The 5 hour energy drinks work well too. But it makes me...hyper and not entirely aware of things. A ditz I suppose? xD Strange phenomenon I have noticed though is that if I have caffeine and jump into bed immediately after I fall asleep faster. =\

Only thing Energy drinks do for me, is to make me feel sick. Sodas don't really do anything except get rid of headaches for me.

I don't much care for coffee, it always leaves my mouth feeling nasty.

Jurinjo 04-06-2011 09:49 AM

heh, I'm actually one of those people who drink coffee purely for its taste xD Screw the caffeine I want coffee flavor! :D

My mom is the same way except she...well one of her friends hilariously asked her if she would like some coffee with her creamer. xD

Taki 04-06-2011 01:51 PM

Energy drinks rarely boost my energy, and the only way it can is if I'm excited for something.

For example, I was looking forward to watching a midnight movie at the theater, but I was getting tired so I got some energy drinks. I was really excited for it, so excitement + energy drink = hyperness.

So if I just need to get through the day at school/work/whatever, I can't rely on it. XD

It depends on my mood really. If I want to stay up and awake, I will get a monster to keep me up and alert. I just can't drink one right before I want to sleep, then I can't.

I used to have such bad reactions to caffeine, that, no matter what time of the day I would have some it would keep me up all night. Being in college sure has changed that. Now, now matter how much caffeine that I have in my system I can still end up crashing later on because of how exhausted I am. ^^;;
