Ummm can some one tell me what ...
So I was on skype and this "urgant call" popped up and it said a virus and threats have been detected on my computer.. so I run my AntiVirus stuff and nothing shows up... It told me to go to soslb.com and it wanted me to buy McAfee..
Is it safe to keep skype on my computer? Or what happened? |
I haven't had anything like that happen to me before.

I think I know what happened.. This almost happened to a friend of mine. She had a 'urgent call' on skype. But she didn't answer or respond to it. She blocked it.
I think some people have found a way to use skype calls to give viruses and stuff. I dunno for sure. What I told my friend to do also is to go into skype setting and change it so only friend can call and send you messages. And she has not gotten anything like that again. I believe it's under skype options some place where that option is. I don't have skype on me currently so I can't give you the exact place where that is at. I hope this helps. :3 I do believe skype is safe if you keep to just calling and answering thing you do know is safe. I've never had a problem with skype myself. |
It's a scam. We had something like that happen as well. Only the virus shut down all of our access to be able to get rid of it. We couldn't run our antivirus, or go into command prompt or anything. We ended up having to reformat the hard drive.

They tried getting me through chat. Claiming that it was a "System update."
