That was close!

The other day my at was outside. We only let her out on a leash.
She had been outside for a while when I went downstairs to get something to eat. While down stairs I desided to check on her and it was a good thing I did!

I opened the door to see a racoon (in day light) rummaging through the trash only a few feet from my poor scared kitty!

Yikes! Good thing your kitty was okay. Unfortunately we've moved into so much of the surrounding areas wildlife now lives in our space too. We've got a golden eagle that lives practically on our roof and i'm terrified one day it might decide the dog is tasty.

I have foxes, deer, rabbits, and wild boars living in the brush by my house. They leave us alone for the most part, but every so often a wild boar will chase the neighbor kids away from the bus stop in the mornings.

Aww man, I know how you feel O_O raccoons are creepy! they have stalker eyes >_> <_< idk ... but honestly everytime i see one we have staring down contests xD
Good thing about your kitty though ><

is kind of similar to when a possum got cornered in the dog's house...
yeah I'd more likely feel the same way you did about kitty if my kitties were to go outside, is more worried about cars though

Awes was she scared?
Poor thing, it's good you checked on her!

Feythfull 04-15-2011 07:30 PM

Dx if there was an eagle living near me my cat would never get to go outside!
If that wild boar chased me away from the bus stop I would be having bacon for breakfast teh next mornin!

Well that is a lucky thing! Raccoons, as beautiful as they are, do tend to be rather large and ornery. Though...I'm surprised that you have a cat that takes to a leash at all. That is unusual.
