What should Tink ggeetttt?
So I need to get my new computer next week, or whenever my student loans come through..and Tink has no idea what she needs
DX Im going to be using a lot of graphics programs like Dreamweaver/Expression Web, PS CS5, Flash, and lots of things like that. I would really like a laptop for the tininess and portability, but would I be better off with a desktop for power? Or what? My current laptop is fine and all, but there's a power short or something that causes it to shut down at random intervals...so I need something more dependable. Im looking to spend no more that 850 on a new computer...and I don't really care what brand..just no Dell. I would prefer a laptop, but if a desktop would be best, Ill get one. What do you guys think Tink should get? Or, what should I be looking for in Processors, RAM, and so on and so forth? |
For anything heavy on graphics, you want a lot of RAM (2-4 GB), a good processor (at least a dual core at 2GB+, but a quad core would be better), and of course a quality video card (probably want 1 GB RAM on it too). As for specifics I'm sorry I haven't been looking much at computers lately so I can't speak on prices or brands.
If you get a laptop make sure you get one with a good cooling system, as high graphics usually heat up the interior faster. That's what my roommate's does in any case. |
