Really need to rant :\
 

I'm in a really funky mood right now.
My estranged Husband was supposed to come out for Halloween to help me take the kids trick or treating.
I told the kids he was coming down, and they got super excited. He called me literally the hour he was supposed to be showing up to let me know he wasn't going to make it.
Then he tried to make excuses by saying that he sent me an email, which I never recieved.
I'm really upset, because not only are my kids majorly bummed out, but the fact that I made arrangements for him to stay. I'm mostly upset because every holiday that passes that he's not here with them, makes me feel like a fail parent.
I know I'm not... I just feel like I am in these situations.

An emergency on the part of someone else does not mean sucky parenting on your part. You're not responsible for the mistake he made, and don't blame yourself for it.
i understand the need to rant, and i hope you feel better soon. just do the best you can for the kids. I'm sorry to hear that happened.
